Ya know i gotta say even with all the evidence to the contrary people still deny the existence of climate change. At least 6 million Jews died during the holocaust. And some people don't even believe it happened. When given the choice to take the red pill or the blue pill. Some people willingly accept the blue pill. The only thing that annoys me about y'all's reactions is that you seem to have an issue putting yourselves in the shoes of more than one person at a time. Especially Sheera, if my spouse, whom I've known all of my life, comes to me with a story like that and then she's harming her body, I think I'm going to save her life first before anything else. Like if my wife was standing in a very, very crowded room bleeding from her side, yelling, "The cake is a lie!" I don't know how I would've reacted other than trying to calm her down. So it's hard to believe that Sheera or Roshi would actually know how to react in that situation given how much they love each other. I think from his perspective, he didn't even see her change in attitude coming. It's like it just happened overnight, the night before he was trying unsuccessfully to try for a baby one last time. The next time he sees her she's in the room of a person who he didn't want her being around that he thought was crazy and she's holding an inplant that she cut her own body that shouldn't be in there so I'd cut him a break. Give him a chance to acclimate to this new information in a less stressful environment where his wife isn't bleeding like a stuck pig and announced in front of everyone that she's decided to leave him and commit suicide as far as he or anyone else knows.

Book series turned movie trilogy. Boy who doesn't know who he is wakes up in an elevator that drops him off in this forest clearing type place, meets other kids who have formed a society there, only way out is a maze surrounding the area and they send "Runners" out every day to try and solve it. The major plot twist involves a fatal disease and government experimentation, but I personally never finished the books or the movies lol. If I remember, the movies got the series finale treatment and changed the ending from the book ending, which I hate for adaptations.

It has been a while so I may not have all details right. Major spoiler alert: The controlled environment in the Silo reminded me of maze runner, because the people trapped in these 'mazes' were also living in a controlled environment. There was indeed an outbreak of some sorts in the real world. Multiple mazes were created as experiment to see if these controlled groups could develop into people that could withstand the outbreak something like that. Now that I'm thinking about it, divergent had also something similar. It all turned out to be an experiment. Not that I'm complaining about the quality of the show (I'm at ep 7 right now and enjoying it). But because we have seen the 'it was an experiment to see if we can improve humanity/survive outside' plots already, I'm looking forward to something new/surprising. Just how severance surprised me. However, I can also imagine that at some point it's impossible to have always new/original ideas.

This first ep had me like, 'Oh yea I'll check this out ahead of time'... The show is so ass xD At least for the first few eps, like its so similar to snowpiercer and has the most generic character makes bad decision and overly long dramatic moments for no reason. I really hope it picks up on the story side but I am not super hopeful.

I have not seen snowpiercer so idk what's comparable. But for Silo, what you gotta imo keep in mind is the naivety you'd have living in there. The exact same principle of indocrination and such mind control; that exists in real life north korea or other dictatorships, is the same principle in Silo. Anything that goes against the teachings will be impossible for most people to believe in, even if they're given proof. It's easier to fool someone than convince them they've been fooled. We as the viewer understand that it's a mystery show, and we get to follow along characters that discover stuff, but whoever they interact with that hasn't seen the same things as them, they of course don't immediately trust in every singular word that char says. Being in a state of chock or disbelief is a real life phenomenon. Sometimes it's the plot so to speak, that makes a character stupid in shows. But quite often, stupidity in unexpected situations, is natural, it's common.

He's in chock though. Just as she didn't want anything to do with the harddrive initially when they unlocked it. She had to take a few moments before wanting to find out more. And she is someone who "wonders" in the world of Silo. He is fine and dandy in believing everything as it's taught, of course he's gonna have a way harder time than her to believe that everything is a lie. Besides, her showing him that was the first bit of truth he saw. She had been sitting with George for at least multiple days, perhaps over the course of weeks (I forgot what timeline they show of how many days passed). She had plently of time to process it, and her taking out her birth control out was the result of all that time spent exploring the hard drive. It's no wonder, particularly with what type of person he is, that he didn't comprehend what he was seeing and what she was saying. You gotta think at it from his perspective, not from your perspective as the viewer. They're very different, the two. He had just been living his life like normal, whilst she had been delving into the harddrive. Even before the harddrive she second guessed how things were in the Silo: "Too many rules". He was fine with how everything was, his natural instinct was not to second guess it whatsoever.

Yeah, I'm not mad at the way Sheriff Becker reacted to his wife after he saw her bleeding while holding the side of her belly. They BOTH live a completely different life and environment than us. She didn't want to believe the things she saw at first, either, but the BIG DIFFERENCE between her and her husband is that she had time to PROCESS all of the information that she saw at the time. Remember, she initially REJECTED the information she saw at first and didn't want to see, but as a curious person by nature, she went back for more after processing it. Sheriff Becker had NO TIME to fully process anything she was trying to tell him, especially after seeing that she was bleeding. That shit takes time to fully shift your ideals from the place you grew up in for over forty years. They are not like us. When somebody tells us that the government is lying to us, we will believe them quickly because we know that we can't trust them. We've seen people not believing in shit even with proof in their faces, like example, remember how some people didn't believe in COVID-19? I'm just saying...

They probably purposely let ppl breed who are weak minded and compliant, leading to the majority of people being like the Sheriff. While someone like Allison, who doesn't feel compelled to blindly follow every rule to the T, is considered an outlier.

Yeah, this ain't it. I saw Boyd in a description and thought it was going to be crazy from episode 1, but I was disappointed. Going by the first episode alone, this show will not touch "From" Coattails. I see several problems. This is just my opinion. I'm saying this because the toxic part of this community attacks anyone who doesn't like a show being reacted to or criticize a show. I'll try two more episodes.

I felt the opposite way. I've only seen the first episode but my brain already started formulating theories about why certain elites may want a working population to remain ignorant, isolated and purely working for them in a literal silo and would do anything to keep up that facade. Too many parallels to the real world for me not to be interested. That may not be where this show goes and maybe they won't touch on real world parallels, but I hope they do. Either way, this was a strong intro. I hope it doesn't disappoint.

I get what you are saying. I also have a theory. I hope my theory is not true. There are a few things I noticed later that are kind of, you know. I wish I had not noticed them, so I decided not to overanalyze and just watch one episode a week to forget about it. Besides the mystery, some characters just get on my nerves, not in a good way, in my opinion. This show does not interest me much, but I do not have many other things to watch right now. Personally, I hope they do not touch on real world parallels or events. Even though most shows have similarities to real life, they usually keep it fictional, which is good in my opinion, unless they are trying to preach something.

of course they've all been conditioned to believe certain things. information control is key to population control. it's not totally evident in the first episode but the very design of the silo is meant to keep people segregated.
