I agree with Roshi. I think he’s saying that Eun-su could have at least tried to do something to help instead of ignoring it like everyone else. Even if it didn’t work out, you could prove to her and yourself that you were different. And that’s why the show is called “As you stood by” because this is one instance where she was a bystander to something she knew was wrong.

I agree with Roshi. The customer was looking for help. She knew she had them bruises on her back so why would she intentionally ask someone to zip her up. And it seemed like the husband was gone for a quick second so she thought it would be the perfect time to ask for help. When someone’s in that situation, “showing concern” is not a facial expression, it’s action.

Yeah Eunsu could have def tried to do literally anything in response with Mrs. Kang. It’s not her fault that she died but not even asking or offering for the police is wild work despite her own trauma. But it’s clear the show is about being bystander that works towards being more active so it’s understandable for the narrative

I will say. In a country like Korea she has zero power to help that woman. The man is rich and powerful and in Korea money buys freedom which is why he had no issues acting that way in public. He could ruin her life. Unless she was gonna help the lady escape, not much she could do. However she could have tried to provide some kind of support.

She didn't have time to ask a question. The man barged in there immediately. He clearly knows nothing will happen based on Korean law (I mean a literal rapist got 2 years suspended sentence even with evidence). The country is fucked up, criminals are a protected class and money buys every freedom in Korea. And the victims and whistle-blowers are the ones who get their lives ruined. This is why shows like this are important so Korea gets put on the world stage and people can start talking about the REAL Korea not the kpop, kdrama version. They care about image after all.

This is a different actor. But they do look similar. Actor Kim Jae-Wook played Painter from DEATHS GAME. In this drama it’s actor Lee Moo-Saeng (from THE GLORY, the prisoner who killed doctors dad)

Yeah I understand what Sheera was saying in that reporting that guy to the police would most likely not end up in solving the problem, but Roshi was right in that it was a cry for help. Mrs. Kang just needed to know she wasn't alone, but Eun-su just acted like everybody else and pretended she didn't see anything.

Yes because of trauma and the damage that abuse does to the brain and nervous system. It’s not the same because if you’ve been murdered you’re dead if you’ve been abused many have lived with psychological damage and sometimes it can be permanent. And people react to being triggered differently. So if they aren’t far along into recovery it could lead to self harm out of pure panic or a heart attack, stroke seizure, aneurysm, etc. A panic attack is the tip of the iceberg. It’s basically like reliving something horrible that happened to you because you were unlucky. It’s super sad actually.

it’s not completely wrong it’s just this version is the long drawn out translation compared to it being short and precise like eunsu doesn’t say “you’re not gonna die if anyone is gonna die it’s jinpyo” she just straight up says “let’s kill your husband”
