Yap incoming!: I might be wrong, but how I interpreted the whole gym scene was that the coach sensed she came to the gym with a purpose. The "desperation" to protect herself at all cost to the point of endangering herself or others. That's why she got banned for a month in the first place for refusing to tap out. And so he might have been hesitant to level her up because of her perceived motivations. And no, a blue belt is not the highest! And I think him saying its her last day at the gym is him catching on that she's trying to test her abilities and strength against a man in the hopes of defeating (or in this case killing) them. Obviously he doesn't know that's her goal but I have a feeling he has some kinda idea that her intentions are dangerous, hence the "take care of yourself". He doesn't want to associate him or the gym to it probably. Might be completely wrong but that's my interpretation 😅

The fuck was going on with the gym scene? Did it get butchered in the editing room or was something lost in translation because absolutely nothing that happened in that scene made any sense?

I think the key word used by the Instructor was "desperation". Yes, everyone has their reasonings for wanting to train. I guess he just saw/felt something off about Eun-su's approach in the gym. And instead of prying, he tried many ways to get her to quit or leave, but in the end he's like "damn, here's your belt, take care of yourself, bye-bye".

Yeah so to piggyback other people's comments, Eun-su was there to fuck people up. She probably started with the intention to learn and improve. But the whole reason she was suspended from using the gym in episode 1 was because she was sparring with someone who trusted her to treat it just as a sparring session. But as you saw Eun-su kept the hold on longer than it needed to be, resulting in her hurting her partner after he'd tapped out. That guy could've needed surgery or had permanent damage she's a liability. She carries outside personal baggage with her when she trains and she's taking it out of her partners. I think the Gym instructor guy was basically telling her "you don't have to go home but you gotta get the hell up outta here."

Blue belt is in the middle, so her master bumped her up several levels out of respect before dropping her. I think we're meant to understand that she didn't show any growth in her mindset after years of training. Martial Arts puts a lot of emphasis on introspection and tranquility. The more physically powerful you are, the more controlled and nonviolent you become. I guess he didn't have faith she could achieve that? It was an awkward scene for sure

I think she didn't get past white belt before was because her trainer said he purposely denied her opportunities to advance on top of giving her bad (smelling) partners to train with. Not sure why he was doing that though other than a dislike of her motivations or disposition.

I think the text wasn't so much about getting caught, cause Hui-su deletes those texts anyway. Hui-su was clearly nervous about going through with it and Eun-su was writing her kind of a cautious warning, but she realized she needed to project confidence to help Hui-su.

The whole gym scenes with the gym teacher (a lot of the dialogue is implied but) basically he’s guessing that Eun-So is gearing up for a real fight against a man forreal and he doesn’t want to be involved in what she is planning and doesn’t want the gym involved but wishes her the best by saying “it’s your last day here”. That’s also why Eun-soo got emotional.
