Okay this next thing is not a spoiler, as they never really bring up the boys mother again pass this point. So if you did not guess who his mother is from the silhouette and from the context clues you will never get the chance to know. The Boy's mother is Maiya Hisau from Fate/Zero (Kiritsugu's assistant and other love who was kill by berserker Lancelot), this would only be known if you pay attention to Maiya's backstory, or even better if you read Fate/Zero. And no he is not Kiritsugu's kid, he was born before Kiritsugu even rescued Maiya.

little bit of context to scar red and the 3rd magic: scar red aka touko aozaki is the woman who gave shirou a puppet body at the end of the heavens feel trilogy. Shirous body died but illya cast the 3rd true magic called Heavens Feel which can materialize souls (true immortality) and faldeus seems to want to bring the 3rd magic to magecraft level (true magic can only be used if you reached the Root, the Root is a "place" outside of time and space which contains everything that has and will exist.) The reason for mages to exist is to reach the root through perfecting their magic and ascending their minds

Fate Strange Fake has a lot of references to the other titles in the series, but it isn't necessary to know them all. -The reason Bazdilot was able to corrupt Heracles was a mixture of using his command spells to mentally weaken him, then using the mud of the Holy Grail from Fuyuki to finish corrupting him. If you remember from Fate Zero, Heaven's feel, and Stay Night, it's the same mud that had corrupted the grail there. Francesca managed to collect some of it and gave it to him. -When Heracles became corrupted, it basically amped his hatred of the gods far beyond what he would normally express. That's why he talks about trampling and subjugating the power of the gods so frequently last episode. He hates the gods so much that he hates the demigod blood in his veins, which is why he now refers to himself as Alcides, which was him before 'Heracles' (Glory of Hera). Also, the gods kinda fucked up his whole life so it's very understandable. -Francesca and her servant are the same person, just at different points. Her servant, Francois, died at an earlier point and was recorded in history, and he has ties to Gilles de Rais, the caster from Fate Zero. That's why Francesca was able to summon 'herself' because she technically died already. -The Watcher class is the stand in for the Lancer class, and like they said they're going to turn their master into the 'Lancer' of the war. They have the power to make it happen, but it comes with the price of having to go through 'trials'. Anyways, don't worry about being confused. So many rules get thrown out the window because it's a 'Fake' Holy Grail War. There are so many abnormalities because they did a trash copy of the Fuyuki system and now it's causing problems.

Just to clear something up. Lancer is a class, essentially any historical or mythological figure that wielded a Spear can be a Lancer. So it’s not going to be the Blue Lancer from the fate stay series.

It’s like what The Watcher said This HGW has deviated to far. It’s one thing having 13 Servants being summoned but classifying them as True and False servants is Strange. Not only that but more anomalies are calling out that shouldn’t happen in a traditional HGW. And Watcher is certainly one of them, along with that shadow thing with the little girl too. You can tell the mystery is building up in this show.

Yeah this episode was confusing so don’t worry if you were lost. But the basic notes is that: 1) Cordelion summoned Heracles and, using a combination of command seals, as well as a bit of grail mud he got from Francesca, he basically lobotomized Heracles into becoming an Avenger class. For context, Grail Mud is the black ooze that was coming out of the Grail in Zero and Stay Night that corrupted Saber. Francesca basically found some leftover mud and is using it. So it’s not that Cordelion manipulated Heracles into not attacking him. He basically just made him evil, and since he needs a Master to continue existing, he can’t kill him. 2) Yes, Francesca summoned herself, more specifically a past incarnation of herself, Francois Prelati, a real historical figure. If you remember, she mentioned last episode that she had only been using her current body for like 3 years. 3) The new Master this episode was supposed to summon True Lancer, but due to him not having any desires or emotions, and due to how fucked this Grail War is, he instead summoned a being known as the Watcher. The implication is that it’s using its Shadows, those random characters that appear around the Master, to provide trials to him so he may eventually become True Lancer himself. Only he can see these spirits. 4) Not really a spoiler, but the girl in the hospital is implied to have summoned Fake Rider, as it’s the only one of the 6 fake servants we haven’t seen yet.

To simplify it: The soldier boy we meet this episode is the Master of the Watcher Class servant (that big whale in the sky) and the people talking to him are its shadows that it uses to interact with him. Watcher is an extra class on top of the normal 7 servant classes. It doesn't fight, it just sees everything and passes that information to its Master. And no, soldier boy isn't Lancer from Fate/Zero or Fate/stay Night. Strange Fake takes place years after both. Watcher is here to help turn Solider boy into the True Lancer for this war. This normally wouldn't happen but this fake grail war is basically unstable so anything can show up at this point. Oh and the fog that keeps being mentioned is the black smoke thing (Fake Rider) with the little girl. And y'all caught it btw, that Caster and the crazy girl (Francesca) are the same person. They were talking about how she keeps getting killed and is using a different body. She literally summoned her past self as a servant.

Basically the soldier kid is becoming what shirou was becoming in fate stay night. He has to finish the trails to become a servant and can ascend to the throne of heros and he will be summonable just like shirou became a hero and rin was able to summon him as her servant.

Let me just give yall a lite understanding of "Extra Classes". Present in this war as of now: Watcher, Avenger (by proxy) Extra Classes are essentially a separate group of classes from the traditional Knight Classes and Calvary Classes that are a part of every HGW (Saber, Lancer, and Archer = Knights, Rider, Caster, Assassin, and Berserker = Calvary). They aren't just titles for the sake of it, each have parameters and class skills that strengthen or weaken, depending on how compatible with the class the servant is. Most servants are summoned in their ideal class for maximum throughput. Some servants, like Herk, can be summoned in practically every one of the 7 traditional classes -- I believe Archer is his strongest class by nature, but he could probably fuck anyone up regardless of class cause his lore is that busted in the Fate universe. He literally has a weapon that's stronger than Excalibur (when wielded by Arturia aka F/Z Saber) called Marmyadose. Anyways each servant has class skills natively but not every servant gets every class skill and not all of them have the same ranking (E- ~ EX). They also have personal skills they can use that's relevant to their lore [think buffs]. Some classes are worse against certain other classes. But plot wise that's irrelevant most of the time if the servant is just OP as fuck in general vs their enemy. Then, there's Extra Classes. They are just as much a part of the core FSN story as any other, with the OGs being: Avenger and Ruler. You already have seen both of them in the other Fate anime you watched you just don't remember. There are other anime like Fate/Apocrypha and FGO Babylonia that show them a little more in depth. Some notable Extra Classes that are heavily used in Fate are: Avenger, Ruler, Alter Ego, but there's also unique classes like Moon Cancer, Pretender and Saver. The list is long and they basically exist so Nasu could have a justification for certain characters existence. Generally speaking only Avenger and Ruler are a part of any given HGW, but with stories like FSF Narita is just doing whatever the fuck he wants. FGO gets the bulk of stories with Extra Classes, but Watcher was new to FSF. So basically, they are "Extra" classes because they appear as an Extra class in the HGW and are "Extra" to the traditional 7. Even in lore, they aren't technically supposed to exist. They are rule violations against how the summoning system was designed and most don't even appear via standard summoning system. Which is how Watcher was summoned via a Fake Holy Grail/tampering. There's also Beast class. They are not Extra Class. Long story short, they are the biggest threats in the Fateverse that are native to it. It's pretty much impossible to put them in a HGW story because their scale calls for their natural enemies to be summoned: Grand Classes. Grand Classes are buffed versions of the traditional 7 classes (Grand Saber, Grand Archer etc) and they are limited to a handful of servants out of the hundreds that currently exist. Don't really need to worry too much about them since they'll probably never be adapted outside of the FGO Babylonia anime and Solomon movie.

Thank god Shera reads what's on the screen cause Roshi and Lupa would be so lost. xd - The watcher servant: Like the individuals who appeared around the boy said, they are just shadows, or more like proxies of the watcher which is the huge whale with the spear in its mouth floating around springfield, giving intel on what's happening to the boy. Like the guy with feathers said, he has to face trials throughout the war in order for him (the master boy) to become servant. This is another irregularity in the war. As the old man said, typically if this was a normal war he would've summoned a lancer heroic spirit and given he has no catalyst, he would've summoned something akin to his personality and from the surrounding land myths/legends. Shera was saying that he is similar to Cu Chulainn/ Diarmuid from the previous fate series but that isn't the case. If u try to summon a heroic spirit without a catalyst, u will summon someone who is close in personality/ideals to your own and from surrounding lands myths. Catalysts help in targeting specific servants. THE ONLY class to which this rule doesn't apply is the assassin class. In fate, the title of an assassin class acts a catalyst in of itself. With that in mind, if u try to summon assassin without a catalyst, u will get one of the various leaders of the Hashshashin assassin organization. All of them are called Hassan-i-Sabbah (also known as Old man of the Mountain) and they wear the specific white skull mask. They have the same name to their noble phantasm which is called zabaniya, but to each of the leaders this ability has different effects and interractions. And btw, it was shown several frames of a woman's shadow in the boy's flashback, her being his mother. The mother is someone we know from past fate anime. If u go back and check and to whom it matches, u will realize who it is. Caster Prelati didn't mention her dying in Japan for nothing. - With Alcides, it seems u have missed what made him becoming avenger. First off, if u remember in the scene, the mage engulfed Heracles with black and red mud. That is the same black mud from UBW/Heaven's feel which represents the contents of the holy grail. It's the accumulated hatred, curses and so on that the grail contains. Initially the holy grail didn't have that, but it got corrupted in the 3rd holy grail war, the same war from which the current holy grail war takes its "blueprints" from. If u remember what iliya said during heaven's feel 3rd movie, the einzbern summoned in the 3rd holy grail war a different servant that the common 7 ones, which is called avenger. That avenger was Angra Mainyu, which is by lore a spirit of darkness that coems from Zoroastrianism, an old persian religion. They thought they would win it with that, but long story short, the spirit was weak, got killed early and was absorbed into the grail. And since this spirit by lore represents all humanity's evil, it corrupted the grail. That's why the holy grail wars are becoming so fucked up. Francesca Prelati brought some of that mud and gave it to Bazdilot so he can use it on his servant and turn him into an avenger. The problem is, that he summons Heracles who is a demigod and cant be easily corrupted. That's why Bazdilot used all his 3 command seals in order for Heracles to drop his "heroic persona". If u strip Heracles of that and u know his lore, he basically becomes full of hate and the black mud can fully corrupt him and turn him into avenger archer. That's also why his wish has become for himself to get rid of his history of ever becoming Heracles. If u remember in fate heaven's feel, when the black mud corrupted saber, she became saber alter. Same with Berserker. And they were crazy strong. Also, Bazdilot explained the process with his batteries. If u remember caster from UBW, she initially has a blonde master before she teamed up with the professor from that high school. The blonde master is the same one Bazdilot mentioned and from whom he took his technology. If u remmeber, Atrum Galliasta used kids in UBW for his machine to generate small crystals. But Bazdilot is from a huge mafia organization so they managed to develop further the technology so they made giga crystal batteries. - Francois and Francesca Prelati. Yes, they are the same person. Throughout these episodes it was explained that she kept swaping from body to body, being killed overtime by the ppl who were mentioend. One of them, the chick to which we were shown her back Scarred Red is a refference to a different series from nasu-verse. She basically is doing the orochimaru/palpatine swap from 1 body to another. She is technically him, as she is actually Francois Prelati, who was a french occultist and alchemist. So u may ask why did she manage to summon her/his past self? It's because in human history, it's been recorded that Francois Prelati died, therefore that information was recorded into the Throne of Heroes. But in actuality, they've never found out that Prelati survived and just body swapped for centuries. With that, the current Prelati who has gained knowledge over the years managed to summon the old version of Prelati as a caster. Why did she summon old prelati specifically? For the lols i guess, since she finds it more entertaining that way. Quick note: If u remember caster from Fate zero, Bluebeard (actual name Gilles de Rais), the one who killed children alongside the serial killer, he was Prelati's disciple. When Gilles de Rais was fighting Saber in the forest, he mentioned in the anime that his noble phantasm (the book that was summoning the cthulu monsters) was a gift from his mentor Prelati. So u can immagine what to expect from the caster prelati since he delved into black magic, demonology etc. - For roshi's point when the boy was doing the incantation when summoning the heroic spirit with the "scale" part xd There is no dragon or anything involved. I'm surprised u didn't notice, but when the mages summon their heroic spirit in all fate series they use the same incantation. This specific incantation is the most basic and common one used to summon a spirit. The only time mages change abit their incantation is when u try to summon berserker. If u remember fate zero, matou zouken (the bug dude) said to karya that he will switch it up abit the incantation in order to summon berserker. The incantation invokes madness and loss of sanity. This type of incantation acts as a filter in order to summon berserker specifically, regardless of catalyst. If i missed something, someone pls fill the gaps i might've left. o/

It is true that traditionally you can't summon a Beast to be your servant. They would have to summon themselves in a way similar to what Sodom's Beast/Draco did in Fate GO. Essentially, forcing a contract onto the "summoner" which was Ritsuka. Also, Beasts are strong against all 7 of the main classes, but tend to be useless against the extra classes. Lastly, There are cases where a Beast can give up their Beast servant status in order to be summoned as another class.

By “put them in a HGW” I mean create a story where one is present somehow in their full form. They have their skill Independent Manifestation and can show up on their own but of course it just wouldn’t make sense at F/SN, F/Z, FSF scale. Angra Mainyu was being born as Beast of Retribution in Heaven’s Feel and they stopped that because the story would’ve ended with them all being absolutely fucked up with no way to defend against it. So while they’ve tickled the idea in pre-FGO stories, it’s just a fairytale. I just mentioned them because they DO exist in the story not just in FGO.

Well you would have to somehow survive your encounter with the Fake Assassin first before you could make it to the church. But yeah that is an extremely raw deal to essentially be a master that has to become their own servant. A flesh and blood servant with zero special abilities.

Also, fun fact. When Alcides’s Master talks about a mage named Atrum Galliasta, who created the system they’re using to make magic batteries out of people, he’s actually referring to a character you’ve seen. Back in Fate Stay Night, we saw a flashback of Caster (Medea) originally being summoned by Atrum, whom she killed after seeing that he was using this system with little kids. It’s after that that she found the teacher and became his Servant.

Beast are all Unique, so all their stats, Class Advantages/Disadvantages, passive skills etc... They are all Unique to each specific Beast. Making them one of the most complex Classes in Fate. Only Draco had Natural Class Advantage over the 7 main Classes. Another Beast would be different.

Here's a summary of mostly everything you're confused about: - Francesca summoned herself, in the beginning of the episode you see the male version of her talking to the kid who summoned Watcher in a flashback, she mentioned that she had been killed before so she had to switch bodies so she summoned herself but before the body change. - Hercules was summoned as an Archer and Bazdilot (his master) used his first two command spells to mentally stunlock him and then used his final command spell to corrupt him with the grail mud that Francesca just before mentions she gave to him from the previous Holy Grail War, if you remember this is the same mud that revived Kirei at the end of the 4th HGW. - The black fog thing is Tsubaki (the little girl's) servant, if you remember it was introduced in Episode 0 when it interrupted Gilgamesh and Enkidu's fight after the lightning from the fight scared Tsubaki and Enkidu referred to it as his natural enemy in a way. - The Watcher class is what you can classify as an "Extra Class" which are basically classes that aren't the standard seven that you're used to in a normal Holy Grail War and will almost never be summoned in one unless there are very particular circumstances. Hercules for example, can be classified as an Avenger class/Archer class servant hybrid because he was corrupted by the mud giving him qualities and traits of an Avenger, "Avenger" being another extra class, there are many other extra classes that have mostly appeared in Fate/Grand Order but they're really cool. - As for the kid becoming the Lancer from my understanding the Watcher servant is that giant whale in the sky and its using shadows of certain heroic servants to communicate with the kid and help him complete a bunch of trials that will possibly give him purpose in life, enough of which will allow him to become a lancer class servant? We'll probably find out as we go.

Im slowly coming to the conclusion that there are really levels to this Nasuverse shi. I tried going to the fandom wiki to try to understand what the difference between "magic" and "magecraft" was as Saber aka Richard the goat Lionheardt was saying and only ended up with more questions. Deadass any lorekeepers of the verse could make an associates degree program with all the shit they gotta know to get all the references.

That servant seems like some kinda physical maifestation of diseases or plague or maybe something that spreads it. If the master kid is in the hospital and she wants people to stay with her, it would make sense (in some fucked up way) to summon something that causes people illness or makes them sick to force them to be in the hospital with them. also THESE ARE THEORIES ONLY, PLEASE NO SPOILERS. 18:20 I do not believe that is the same lancer from any of the fates yall have seen. The lancer from Zero was from medieval times and i believe same with ole boy with the blue hair. His noble phantasm was Gae Bolg which is a spear used by a hero in Irish Folklore iirc he also has something that grants him affinity with the wind. And yes I only really remember the name of the spear because when I first watched F/SN UBW as a dipshit preteen I thought "haha funny he said "gay bulge" haha". Also the spear is in Fire Emblem Awakening for those who care.

Im not as confused about the heroes appearing multiple times n in different forms because in the Fate game we see the same heroic spirit and almost every different class(as long as their story allows them using those diff weapons). Also, the watcher basically sees all, past present and future. The kid is NOT lancer from UBW 🤣 lancer from the last two fates are legitimately from our history. This kid will become a lancer in the future, kinda like how Shiro ended up becoming an archer in his future

I don’t think that thing is just putting them in the hospital. Otherwise, the doctor wouldn’t have said that the kid’s parents haven’t been there in days, and we saw her parents with her in her little world. More than likely, the servant is using a disease to kill things, and then drawing their souls into her mental world. Which is very, VERY bad, as she just asked it to stop people from disappearing. That’s probably what Flat noticed. And the fog he was going on about is probably the servant’s true body spread across the city like a miasma. As for what the servant’s true name is… well, there aren’t many diseases that kill like that, with those black marks. I don’t know how that girl became a master in all this, but if my guess is right, then she somehow wound up the master of the manifestation of the Black Death. Only, it’s apparently on steroids, cause now it not only can infect animals, but it also kills insanely quickly. I assume that it works like this because of humanity’s perception of the Black Death.

He is known to purposely let the story tell itself well leaving you confused in early acts. Once we get further down the road he will start to connect the dots and boom the show will make sense. Ironically flat is one of the few characters I dont find annoying. I mean he is cringe, but he i think he is SUPPOSED to be, which i find charming... where as the other characters are supposed to be badasses but are cringe and annoying. Specifically: francesca, gilgamesh, vampire guy, hansa and his quartet, saber, Orlando, faldeus, sigma, caster... all painful for me to sit through any of their scenes Only characters i was kinda on board with are flats, assassin, enkidu... Stay/night/UBW characters and writing bothered me a lot less. I mean, I always hated gilgamesh, and illyas characters... and i didnt LOVE the story but I was able to look past a lot of the character writing being "meh" and enjoy the ride. Especially because the story overall wasn't as far up its own butt from the rip. And zero actually had pretty strong writing all around to onboard, not being a LN adaption and having an actual writer... Anyways yeah I have been meaning to finish tbhx i definitely will before season 2. It was overall really good.

i can understand why u feel that way but every fate series does make sense. Its just that alot of the time the anime adapations of the source material does a poor job at explaining things: either that or they simply dont have the time too. Things make sense its just hard to follow along but i'd say that its best to not stress the details about the anime. In fate the possibilities are endless so my advice would just be to embrace it. Originally fate didnt include "modern" historical figures as Heroic Spirits. Over time that has loosened to include some more modern figures, but generally 95% of Servants/Heroic Spirits will be people waaaay older than any famous American figure. FGO is a further exception because the summoning system there is much different than a "standard" grail war, even Strange/Fake's weird summoning system. The only ones that would be eligible would be Native American legends and heroes, but those would likely be lesser in power due to how Servant's powers are valued. Since Native Americans didn't have as much of a recorded history + their culture and history got heavily destroyed by European Americans, as well as the fact that it was fairly self contained and their heroes didn't have much overall impact on the world. Essentially, North American are gonna stay rare.

Francois prelati was likely recorded after he "died", well he didn't die due to reasons and changing bodies and whatnot. The holy grail is able to summon anyone from the throne of heroes regardless of when the hero lived. The girl is the alive francois prelati, aka the master while the boy is francois prelati who was summoned from the throne of heroes, aka the servant

Ok so, small thing, but the vampires (dead apostles) were VERY much a thing in Zero, and were a part of multiple episodes in the Kiritsugu flashback part of Zero. And while not in UBW, Avenger was talked about in the Heavens Feel movies, which they also reacted to, though I do not blame anyone for not remembering these things after who knows how many months / years between shows / seasons. Just a little trivia thing having watched / played TOO much fate myself.
