When the mangas were still going, this flashback came out right before the reveal in the main series. So the reveal did hit a lot harder if you were keeping up with both.

Aizawa Quirk is busted for sure. But the people shading it arent necessarily wrong either. Imagine pulling up to hoop and you see a nigga taking the rims. That's what Aizawa is doing. Imagine trying to run the fade to get him to put it back, but he removed your ability to properly swing, so now you windmilling. Worse, he can't fight either, so both of y'all out here looking goofy. This is what its like watching or fighting Aizawa solo, currently.

You know, thinking about it now it kinda just dawned on me how thematically fitting it was for Midnight to be training under Prince of all people. I kinda forgot, Prince ( the real one ) was a sex symbol back in the 80s-90s making a couple of freak nasty songs and Midnight paraded herself as a sex symbol being her entire shtick. Lol

It is weird this wasn’t in the main show. I think it’s because at the time Vigilantes and MHA were both coming out in the manga, so maybe the thinking was MHA fans would naturally also be reading Vigilantes.

Aizawa's quirk isn't that great. There are some pretty common things he can't erase like characteristics of heteromorphs, and he needs to out maneuver stronger people once their quirks are erased. It also doesn't really beat support items or any already set up creations, like Momo's creation or Bakugo's grenade. It really just comes down to how good someone would be with their basic physical capabilities and weaponry, which varies greatly in the MHA world. Someone who's just bigger/stronger than him, someone enhanced, or someone armed pose enough of a threat for him to run.

In combination with waterman, monoma, and several top ranked heroes. If they hadn't been there too, its weaknesses would have cropped up and they would have lost. Of course his quirk is better when you cut out all of the weaknesses.

They were there to make up for his body's limitation...his quirk is what we're talking about, it literally cancels powers which is OP in any universe. Monoma was there to use the EXACT same OP quirk, everyone else was there to keep that OP quirk up and running. What do they do without the existence of Aizawa and his quirk? It all falls apart, but if only Aizawa was there he could still partially cancel without their help because it's his power.

No, they already said that before his injury he would have eye strain from overusing his ability. It's literally the natural limitation of the human body (why we blink), and Aizawa needed to keep Shigaraki's quirks locked down 100% of the time. Monoma and Waterman were there to cover the natural strain of keeping your eyes open for extended periods of time. The whole point they were getting at in the flashback was that it's harder for Aizawa to do things on his own. Shigaraki was also still able to exploit one of Erasure's weaknesses, since he can't stop Heteromorph characteristics. This let Shigaraki still have a "quirk" and perform well versus the top heroes fighting him, despite Erasure being on AND having its other weakness covered.

Aizawa's quirk is somewhat bad when you think about it. Off the rip it's a support quirk unless you naturally have the straight up raw strength and combat skill to truly rely on it in a 1v1, even in this world it has to be piggybacked by bandages that magically break every law of physics known to mankind just to keep him viable. Plus you have to think of the fact that not every criminal is relying on their quirks. Think about it, if there is something like an armed bank robbery going on, what in the hell is a regular person with Erasure doing in that situation? They show time and time again that if Aizawa is fighting someone that is just far physically stronger than him there's pretty much nothing he can do. From the Nomu in MHA to the black 6 armed thing from a few episodes ago and now Majin Buu. It's a quirk far more fitted for a sidekick than an actual main Hero, which is how the show utilizes him for the most part
