Yo Computer Science major here, for the Parametron (Donut), think of it like this: Think back to childhood, imagine you are standing behind a friend on a swing. If you push them at just the right time, they go higher and higher, right? In a parametron computer, electricity is used to "push" a signal. With the "On" or "Off," the Parametron computer looks at how the swing is moving. - If the swing starts moving to the left first, the computer counts that as a 0. - If the swing starts moving to the right first, the computer counts that as a 1. The swings are all tied together with invisible strings. If most of the swings are going "forward," they pull the swings along until everyone is swinging the same way. When all the swings finish their rhythm, the computer looks at which way they are moving to give us the answer. Also for the fax machine, they explained how it sent an image. Early fax machines used specific types of paper where sphalerite is boiled down and coated on to the paper and then you use low heat to “burn” the paper to etch what you want on it in a specific pattern, then the pattern is transmitted and read via radio waves, received on the other end. Think of it like Morse code 2.0.

yea software engineer here, the fact is the info they explained here on how computers work is so incredibly simplified already and also only the elementary parts of everything, its like the ABC's of computers, the first time i genuinely started learning on a deeper level about how these computers we use everyday in our life are made and how they work made believe we are literal wizards and that this is literal magic, at some point you genuinely cannot wrap your head around how complex things get, like the simple act of me typing on my keyboard and the text being displayed on the screen as i do it, when you break it down to its lowest levels, the things happening to make that happen are a literal miracle of engineering, trillions upon trillions of actions happening within fractions of seconds just for that.. but yea i could honestly yap about this forever, learning about how technology works makes you appreciate just how much complexity and absurdity surrounds you at all times

This episode was really cool, I love how every person they add contributes heavily to their advancement and Senku is there to bring everything together. I also appreciate the brief moment where they did end up bringing some of the locals back
