The reason they stood still is because since they've seen the petrification light before and know that the speed it travels at relates to a certain radius, they knew it was moving slow enough that it'd only affect a short range. They just did the mental math in their head like they did on treasure island when Ibara used the petrification beam on them.

Sheeras theory makes sense, I wouldn't even be surprised if that's how it wraps up at this point. Agree with the lack of an enemy and pacing issues for this last season, really wished they showed them aging in some way, but willing to watch through the whole show

Unfortunately, they only have one functioning Medusa device, so I don't think they can afford to take a huge gamble like sending it into space to control remotely.

How many chapters are left before the anime has adapted everything? I agree that these past few episodes have been less enjoyable than peak Dr. Stone, but I'm sure it'll stick the landing.

My guess is that why man set a timer to be triggered by vacuum of space. So he could time the landing on earth. And the vacuum seal triggered it.

There's 18 chapters left to adapt within the last 6 episodes. Most episodes have been adapting around 2-2.5 chapters, but the later chapters are less dialogue-heavy, so they can prob stick with a 3 chapters per episode pacing from now on.

Your concerns are valid Roshi. I think the structure of this final arc is flawed in that respect. Personally I did like the manga conclusion and final face off though so hopefully you guys do as well
