Ummmm I feel the mom should've went to JAIL for the clear as day child abuse to her son. And where was the DAD in all of this , maybe the mom prevented the dad from coming to the study apartment they had going on but yea the dad should've seen what was going on with his son physically and mentally and his wife whos gone off the rails. i do agree tho it's a relatable episode for all cultures when parents are putting their hopes, dreams, goals onto their children instead of letting them find their own passions and likes and dislikes.

3:46 i almost turned off the episode due to this sound of the pencil on that scantron 😭😩 it's like chalkboard writing, permanent marker sound on paper or egg carton scratching

I knew this episode would make yall the most angry so far lol. She's TERRIBLE!

The the thing about the mom is she didn't really change because the influence of the other parents. She was always that way. She had an inferiority complex in her life. You also see her push that onto her husband that's why they're "separated". She hated thinking people looked down on her so she kept pushing her husband and son to be in higher positions when they themselves were satisfied in what they accomplished in life she was never happy with it.

This episode really hit home for me. I had no social life growing up because I spent most of it studying—no TV, no outside. Just school and home, studying. My stepfather found things I loved so he could take them away. I grew up loving the Power Rangers. They went on tour, and I was promised I'd get to see them when they came through. The look on his face when he told me I was no longer going will never escape my memory. The original Power Rangers appeared; it was in the city's newspapers. Just tears fears and Getting beaten for failure yet my younger sister was still rewarded for failure it made me resent my stepfather forever.

Oh yeah, she should’ve got nothing but jail like the mother was the worst one in this entire series for me.

“She didn’t start out trash” umm guys did y’all completely miss them showing that she’s been treating him this way with the whole him, not having a door, her sitting outside his door watching him study with that obsessive “meal and study plan” since he was a child. sure she might not have started drugging him until recently, but she was still very much trash

Can kinda relate to this episode. Mom constantly shot down what I actually wanted to do, and told me what I should do to be successful. Since she was the one paying for college I felt like I had no choice but to listen. So I changed my major to something that she approved of. I eventually lost interest in what I actually enjoyed doing and came to absolutely hate college. It made my existing depression worse to the point of self harm, self deletion thoughts, etc. I still hold slight resentment years later, but it is what it is.

Ima guess the drug they are using is a combo of adderall and vyvanse and as someone who has to take this type of med(not both not ever both!) it's always wild to see this type of "study" drug be used in media when it really wouldn't magically make you into studying, i really do think the colors and weird camera motions were prob accurate if someone was on this the way the kid was

Princess Sakura

this episode reminds me of the kdrama ''Good Bad mother''

Grass_toucher

ik this an older upload, but im curious at 30:34 why the subtitle says "get me the fucking meds" when he just said "please give me the medicine" in korean. They added the fucking part for absolutely no reason XD

Princess Sakura

great ep but I wanted more consequences for the mom or an actual resolution

Keywii

I would have responded with “You’ll have to take the blame for when he dies.” to the mother saying the inspector will take the blame for the kid not getting into med school.

whats most important is the tier and the numbers to the left of the tier. the far right numbers are precentage rankings (dont know if its just the school or a nation ranking).

the "logic" of parents like this: "his success is because of me. thats MY A. thats MY degree" but when the child fails, they blame the child, the school, the other parent. if you are going to take credit for your kid's success then you have to own their losses as well. classic toxic stage mom
