All these damn Targs are related three different ways to the point that it's got y'all confused. Rhaena and Baela are sisters. They share Daemon as a father. Rhanerya is Rhaena's cousin through Daemon but also her stepmother. I don't know why they all assumed Rhanerya was going to immediately kill her own stepdaughter (that she trusted enough to watch her young children in the first place) on site when its clear by the look on her face that she could tell Jace's death was not intentional. She could barely kill Otto who set all these events in motion. She had to be coaxed into it by Daemon through snotty tears. She may have a change of heart by next episode but I feel like everyone has been acting FOOLISH all season.

i feel like since the dragons and their riders are connected, i’ve noticed they feel each other’s emotions. when lucerys did and rhaenyra found his body syrax and rhaenyra both were grieving their children. in the scene with daemon and rhaena (rhaenyra and addam) i think sheepstealer and caraxces were angry and scared bc their riders were everyone came in with hostile energy and the dragons felt it and was on edge just like them. i completely agree with roshi i felt so bad for sheepstealer, he was just protecting his rider and was surrounded by dragons he doesn’t know who could sense had hostile energy why would he attack. it’s not his fault he wasn’t raised with a rider

Unfortunately that's the issue with trying to turn a story that was like 250 pages max (the Dance of the Dragons was only like a fourth of the whole Fire and Blood book) into a 4+ season show. The show keeps trying to add more complexity to the characters, since the book is written like a historical account and the characters are portrayed as very stubborn and straightforward in what they want, but in turn the characters in the show act a lot more weird and indecisive. Not every character needs to have some deep Freudian motivation behind everything they do.

Honestly, I think I am about done with this show. They are really just doing whatever they want. It makes no sense for Sunfyre for to suddenly be alive. I mean, although they haven't said exactly how long it was since that battle, its been at least months, based upon how much Aegon's burns have healed up. So you're telling me that the dragon lay there for months, not eating a thing. The same dragons that, in lore, require eating like 2-3 sheep or other sized animals a day to stay fed and alive. The way I see it, they killed Sunfyre off at that battle cause they thought it was cool and didn't read anything from the books, until they got to this point and realized Oh shit, Sunfyre is needed for a certain event; maybe we shouldn't have killed him off in that battle. So they bring him back, even if it doesn't make sense. And honestly, can't really mention decomposition because, even in lore, we don't really know how long it takes a dragon to decompose. And if going off of that, you could also bring the other dragon back. That one also didn't look decomposed, the one slumped on the wall. Idk, it just feels like the showrunners and writers for this are making things up along the way instead of planning anything coherent and only actually use lore from the books when it suits them or they write themselves into a corner.

Additionally I don't think there's anything inherently wrong with giving characters more to do in the show, for example Ormund Hightower was basically a nothing character in the book who exists just to be the guy in charge of the Hightower army, and in the show he's actually interesting to watch. But some of the choices they make to explore the characters further are...iffy to say the least.

I think Sunfyre's recovery is *why* Aegon found that burst of megalomaniacal courage. He's been feeling like absolute dogshit, and his dragon has been healing itself in the woods from the edge of death. They've been doing a really good job of portraying how these dragons are reflective of their human's emotional state, and in this episode there's discussion of how being bonded to a dragon 'alters' people. So with Sunfyre alive and close, Aegon's confidence and certainty were magnified. He didn't even need to know the dragon was there.

We saw Danys 3 eggs last season. We saw Rhaenyra give the eggs to Rhaena when she sent Rhaena to The Vale. Thats the entire reason for Rhaena was in the Vale, because Rhaenyra sent her there with the eggs and her son Joffrey.
