I love how the show does not even try to hide the fact that Eris is very likely going to be the third wife, that cut from Sylphie to her gave me a good laugh. Also this show HAS to be hell for people who do not like Polygamy, I don't find an issue with how things have set up at all, specifically because it only works BECAUSE Sylphie is wife 1, cuck chair jokes aside her being the 'head wife' and drawing these lines in the sand makes sense. If Roxy was the first wife, she would of felt terrible and insecure if Rudy brought home a second wife. If Eris was the first wife, she'd simply kill Rudy and the other woman. Author's perceived fantasies aside, it works in universe and honestly, much better than a constant 'who will he end up with', fuck it, all routes win now lets move on to the cool fantasy shit.

For those who ask or are questioning The creator of the series, Rifujin na Magonote, has clarified in several interviews that Rudeus is not a 34-year-old mind trapped in a child's body. When he was reincarnated, his past memories were transferred, but his physical brain and hormones developed from scratch. His urges, fears, involuntary erections, and emotional clumsiness are those of a child and then of a teenager. His brain processed love and attraction in line with his biological growth, not like that of a 34-year-old adult. On Earth, the original Rudeus shut himself in his room at 14–15 years old after suffering severe trauma from school bullying. Chronologically, he lived until 34, but emotionally he never matured beyond a high school teenager. He had no work, romantic, or social experience as an adult. When he arrived in the new world, his emotional maturity advanced in parallel with his physical age. Even though, for the modern viewer, the concept of reincarnation raises a very uncomfortable moral debate in the first episodes, within the logic of the story Rudeus is simply a boy from that world who possesses the knowledge of a past life, but who matured, grew up, and fell in love at the same time as Sylphy and Eris. Sylphiette would accept Rudeus's past, comfort him, and her love for him would become even deeper.

I can’t tell if you’re saying that is a positive or negative but if positive I do agree. The world building and the whole character of Paul and his relationship between Zenith and Lilia kind of set your expectations up to accept polygamy as part of this world, for better or worse. Most people are not going to be into it IRL obviously, but for a piece of fiction, some people do still struggle to ‘accept’ what is accepted in universe. I think the show having people in universe who accept multiple wives/husbands and those who are staunchly against it is a good call story wise.

Conflicted feelings on this episode. It's good, shows how Rudy and Sara have grown up, while still showing Rudy needs help confronting things. That said some of the conversations were... sup-par. I wonder if this was added at the same time as the Sara section or later on, as neither were part of the work at the time I read it. The convo at the end, while aspects of it certainly were part of the original (Sylphie's outward positivity towards Rudeus' faithlessness), the like... needless hinting at Eris was not. At this point Rudeus is still low-key hostile towards her. And this conversation does not suggest that. I dunno, it's not huge and we'll see how it plays out but I was not anticipating this episode in what I expect to be a packed season already.

The one who told sara about rudy's condition was Elise the prostitute from the brothel rudy got whit in season 2. They never go into detail in the anime, but in the novels there is a sara POV about how she felt about rudy, and when she finds out about rudy's ED. I thought they were going to adapt Sara's POV chapter in this episode that was cut in Season 2, but i am okay whit how this episode went whit only adapting one chapter just for sara.

It has nothing to do with the authors fantasies. This troupe in Medieval times has always been explored. It’s literally what the nobles do they either have multiple wives or concubines. Does it make it right by our moral standards no. Unfortunately that’s how it was then. Now the reason why slyphie is so accepting of rudeus having multiple wives. is because she has been around nothing but nobles, and how they do things. Hell in the millis religion they would rather you marry your own mom before getting a second wife. This world and its people and characters, are not normal by our standards.

This is my issue with anime. Unless the author is a woman all female characters are basically flesh chatgpt. No jealousy, no agency and no friction just no substance at all. You get AMAZING world building and character design but no substance at all for the characters epically the women. You can justify his wives as they are just poly but common even beyond the amount they have nothing beyond being Rudy's wives. Roxy was very interesting until she became his wife

In a way, yes, bc that’s what it originally was. They essentially just ended up accommodating Rudy’s infidelity .
