Remember, when Elliot is on screen, we're his imaginary friend. Which means, like with "Evil Corp", we're seeing what he wants us to because we're in his head. Not only has the show basically told us from the start that he's mentally ill for talking to us, but you never know what's actually real or not when he's the focus of a scene.

It's actually not that crazy. Mental illness/disorders are heavily linked to memories. If Elliot has a dissociative condition, it's pretty normal he would forget or see them differently

So from what I'm reading, Joanna stabs herself with the pickle fork to sort of shock her body into giving birth. Apparently this is a thing where severe physical stress can induce labor. Not sure if stabbing yourself with a little fork would be enough irl but what's what the show went with lol

Hmm I got a different vibe. I agree with Sheera's first theory. I could be totally off base but I don't think that's his dad, I think in order to deal with the trauma of his dad dying and being abused by his mom he has been "becoming" his dad as an alter ego while simultaneously imagining him being around for support and guidance. The blond childhood friend knows that his dad died, I'm assuming of a sickness like her mom. And imo he currently looks the same age as he does in the pictures, when he would be like 20 years older. He also the complete opposite of Elliot and able to do things that Elliot wouldn't feel comfortable with -- like threatening the Black dude to have him rejoin, or mouthing off to Tyrell. I think him switching to that alter ego has allowed him to accomplish what he wanted deep down -- getting revenge on Evil Corp.

i wish the subs would differentiate the fact that the wife to tyrel is speaking danish while he speaks swedish. its most likely not plot relevant, just casting choice, but its interesting to me as it can almost be read as both being too stubborn to speak either ones' native language despite clearly understanding each other. makes their convos sound awkward to someone who knows of both languages.

Okay, so at this point I think Elliot is hallucinating Mr. Robot and is therefore Mr. Robot himself. That would also explain why his therapist had to question him after he was pushed off the bridge - because he wasn't pushed off the bridge, nobody else was actually there with him, which means he jumped. It also would explain that scene that Roshi questioned where Mr. Robot was just waiting for Elliot on the staircase inside his building.

This ep truly twisted everything the first I saw it. Besides that Shutter Island ending, this show was 2nd place for one of the most insane plot twists I have ever watched in anything, ever. I think the fact that they call the company "Evil Corp" is a clue to the audience that we shouldn't trust the dialogue concerning Elliot. We should probably only trust dialogue and scenes that have zero interaction with Elliot because this show is from his perspective.
