So keep in mind that current humanoids don't have special powers or anything like Breathing Styles or what not. Up until a few decades ago Current Humanoids need royal weapons to kill dark beasts. The fact that the female mc can fight as well against powerful dark beasts without a special weapon or magic is kind of insane which multiple other characters keep talking about. It's like if someone tried to fist fight a bear (in the case of this fight) or tried to fight a tank with a one shot musket (in the case of when she fought the bird guy last season.) Yeah, she's going to lose but the fact that she keeps coming that close to winning is crazy.

How so? Our only real yardstick for the strength of the 13 heroes is Alicia and she is easily among the best fighters shown up to this point.

RF

Alicia did pretty well against the strongest pure magic user in the empire's army without even a magic weapon. And as soon as she got her hands on one she handed him his ass in like five seconds. The crests seem to be very new, as even metal girl doesn't have one, and are an upgrade from the crystals that metal girl and the bug guy and Drel had.

I honestly wonder if the dark beasts in general are in fact the "true humans" that tried for a crest but failed....

I just play games

This just isn't true at all Alicia is by far the strongest swordsman we've ever seen in the world bro

Teejay

Well not the strongest swordsman yet, but strong so far

David Washington

Those 13 heroes were some of the strongest people in the world, including Alicia. Just keep watching. Even Rode is near the top of the verse for humans.

arcanemobb

You seem to be forgetting that she's been reborn through Clevatess.

Anthony

Now this makes sense why they said in the first episode that some people don’t ever finish or recover from being at that school

That ending gave me big Attack and Titan vibes lol. Wdym you turn into a dark beast. How many dark beasts are people who got forced into crests. What if the Dark Lords are super powerful crest holders or something.

Matt

I think they were providing context for how surrounding characters would think
