WE GOT LUPA BACK FOR TP4 LET'S GOOOOO Btw Sheera got it completely right, for all we know Hitogami was full of bullshit when he told Rudeus everything would've been fine if he hadn't go to rescue Zenith. Rudeus was the one who brought a book about teleportation circles which was the core mechanic of that dungeon, he found Roxy just in time before she died and his knowledge about burning the Hydra was what helped them defeat it. Also, remember guys, when someone tells you "You are going to regret it" it can be an advice or a whole ass THREAT.

The conversation with Man-God in the LN was a bit more detailed: he told Rudy that if he didn't go, his Dad's crew would've sold maps of the part of the Teleporter Labyrinth they had already explored, getting more people interested in exploring with them. It would've taken them 2 years longer to make it to the boss room--since they'd have to brute force the rest of the floors--but they would've succeeded without Paul dying. Though as a result, Roxy would've fallen for a random adventurer that rescued her instead of Rudy, who ends up rejecting her. So even if he regrets his dad dying, he's still happy with having gotten to marry Roxy.

Strap in for the next few episodes. Streets are saying this season is 14 episodes and for good reason. This is one of, if not the best turning point in the series. A brief reminder: Turning Point 1: Teleportation Incident Turning Point 2: Orsted's Attack and Eris' Leave Turning Point 3: Message from Geese and now Turning Point 4: Future Rudeus All of these involve the Man God's intervention in some way: TP1, "Trust and rely on the man you wake up next to (Ruijerd)"; TP2, "Orsted is Wicked, I can't keep track of him"; TP3 "Stay or leave either way you will regret it". Also Sheera brought up a good point about the Man God potentially lying about what wouldve happened on Begaritt. Man-God explains why Rudeus might regret the route he ended up taking with Paul's death, but never expressed why he would regret it if he didnt go, he just made it seem like the definitive right answer.

My guess for what old rudy meant by "it didn't work" was I think he was trying to "true time travel" where he ends up back in time but as his 18 year old self (like regression animes) so when he saw current rudy he said "of course it wouldn't work" like him figuring it didnt do that but that he would just meet his younger self instead

If Rudy went into the basement Roxy and his unborn child would have died, as a result Sylphi would have left Rudy and also died which leads to Eris dying, pretty much the man god has been lying to Rudy this whole time in order to make sure Roxy dies because its hers and Rudys child that is destined to defeat the Man God so he is trying to prevent that from happening by killing her before she gives birth If Rudy didnt go to help Paul Roxy would have died right then and there, so next episode we will see the events of the dark timeline were old Rudy opened the door and ruined his life. He gives young Rudy his journal preventing that dark timeline from happening thank god

Think about all the times he helped Rudeus, all this to prepare for that very moment, gaining his trust after a decade. Hitogami doesn't seem to be able to interact directly with the real world, but he seems to be able to predict and see everything. I think there was an opportunity, at this moment, that he waited for all this time.

Ill get to the end part in which i think that maybe he was trying to go back in time in spirit alone and not body. meaning he would be in his young body to make all the better decisions without alerting the Man-God to catch on. Something to note about Rudy’s Lightning spell he uses now: It’s literally the same oomph as that big ass lightning spell he used a few episodes ago. He compresses the spell down to a smaller size but that actually takes more mana and mana control than doing the big fuck off spell. So they all got blasted by a king level water spell 😨

Light Novel Cut Content: Battle Aura, the anime finally introduced it but it was supposed to be revealed much earlier in the series back in season 2 with Badigadi. While Rudeus was training with his Sword Swings Badigadi would watch him and ask how come he doesn't use Battle Aura, Rudeus asks about it and Badigadi tells him that Battle Aura reinforces the user's own body by coating it in dense mana, greatly increasing physical strength, speed, durability, reflexes, and use greater sword techniques. No matter how hard someone trains, without Battle Aura they will never go higher than an intermediate sword fighter. Unfortunately for Rudeus he can't seem to activate Battle Aura. Badigadi tells Rudeus to not worry about it since The Demon God Laplace also couldn't use Battle Aura and he ended up being one of the most powerful and feared individuals in the world.

I can’t help but feel like the man-god is lying about Paul daving everything if Rudy didn’t go. 1. I thought the mad-god said Rudy would have regrets whether he went or not. Like both choices will have consequences 2. Roxy was about to die when Rudy found her and I don’t see how Paul would have ever located her without Rudy. 3. Man-for isn’t really giving any details on how Paul would have saved his wife. That hydra was a serious threat and while mages are at a disadvantage against its anti magic effects, magic still had its uses in that fight and I just don’t see how Paul’s party would have bested the thing.

The author has a pretty big hand in the script writing for the show I imagine as he has done the script himself for a few of the episodes. So anything major cut was likely on purpose. Us not knowing about battle aura till now is because Rudy just found out now. There was no particular reason for us to know it before him. Also, I like the idea of ManGod embellishing to make it seem like everything would've gone better if Rudy didn't go. Given that is the whole point.
