Oh time to see if i can hold back crying at this episode (probably not)

Jamaal Ellison

My captain D's literally just arrived.

Afrobushidohub

Yooooo these next few episodes is going to have Dr. Roshi and Nurse Sheera bawling 🥲

Wizard Michael

Santos really gets on my nerves sometimes. But she’s young, she just needs to learn

Chosen One

I made the mistake of eating a hot dog during this episode. Never again

Han

2:49 that discord sound effect got me

Jamaal Ellison

Update: it was absolutely fucking terrible, and I want my money back.

shay

i love how roshi and sheera are over santos being excited about all this stuff and then you have a show like grey’s anatomy where every character is like that and fighting over patients😭😭

Han

I love Dr. Collins’ voice. she should be a VA in something

PJ Rivera

These next few eps about to hit like a brick to the dome

DJ Muldrow

I am tired of crying gang, where are the happy episodes? 🙂‍↕️

Aniah Ammah

I remember watching this episode for the first time in the gym. I was sobbing on the elliptical. the people around me were concerened as hell lmao

Afrobushidohub

Man this shift goes from worst to worst so hang in there

Elizabeth Darby

The actor for Louie just won’t an Emmy for his role on this show

Arten

Cried the first time I saw this episode, will never not tear up every time and I’ve seen plenty of stuff in the er as a nurse

Jamaal Ellison

It only just now occurred to me that an episode about someone losing a sibling probably hit them a little bit differently. All things considered.

Jamaal Ellison

Well, playa, you might want to sit down for this; it gets sadder.

HBK713🏄🏾‍♂️

Fam last time i tried eating watching a episode they cut to a patient dick & balls out pissin 😑😂

Fred

Unfortunately medical tools can just suddenly turn off I teach special needs and one of my students has Cerebral Palsy, his shunt (a medical tool inside his head to limit the fluid build up in the brains) suddenly had an issue one night and a seizure came. Thankfully his mom was watching over him while it happened but like doc said shit does just happen sadly it’s not a perfect science

Drewb

Freedom House service is pretty cool to look into. Sadly since they were mostly black they were discontinued. The black community in Pittsburgh at the time (as they still can be of course) were nervous to call police for assistance. So they would call the Freedom House volunteers. They got a lotta discrimination in the medical system and local government but as the show says, this was a large part of 911 starting.

Tina L

I sure didn't. I don't know how Sheera doesn't have a box of tissues with her.

Mike A

This might be the roughest episode of the season for me. I don't know how Roshi held it together.

victor salazar

Honestly they hired some great actors because daammmnn can they show genuine emotions

Anna Leigh

This episode is just painful man💔 I think it was about here or last episode I was like "maybe I need a break?" And stopped watching for like 3 days😂

Crystal

She’s a good doctor and she’s got good instincts. She just needs to lock in with her filter 💀

Bria A.

gently places my hand on your shoulder.

Wizard Michael

She’s got the medical angle down but because of how she talks to patients and her colleagues idk if I’d say she’s a good doctor yet. She’s got great potential

Dee

Hm I guess Roshi doesn't just cry when his shipments are delayed lolol jk. This is a rough show, but it's so good. Can't wait until season 3, I'll be sure to have my tissues ready.

Jamaal Ellison

Robbie would be proud of your bedside manner.

A. P.

Captain D is crazy

Mauro

Not yall pre warning the next episodes but it’s true lol also the actor who plays Louie won an Emmy for his performance this past weekend

Crucc

I look forward to these watching this with yall so much every week hope we get an extra episode here and there, much love :)

Ark the Birb

Lmao, here I am with some Panera Bread Bowl Soup w/ a Avocado Chicken Sandwich.

Jamaal Ellison

I'm so sick of Panera, but I may have to order some chicken noodle soup after eating that bullshit I just finished.

Jadon

This Damn show got me crying again!

PinayAnimerican

Please have a box of tissues and a trash can in the reaction space for tearful moments if you can 🥺. I wish I could hand y'all some every time 😥

Alex

That was a lot

britt

healthcare staff are taught to show as little emotion because it can get you in trouble depending on the situation or panic the patient

Loadedfrenchfry

THIS SCENE IS NOT FUNNY.... but when Roshi closed his eyes at 44:46... I almost lost it! 😂

Jamilla Abdullah

Maybe its because I'm a nurse but in my opinion, after this episode the cases/losses that the staff go through are "easier" to get through believe it or not. This one was particularly hard because no one likes to have to deal with a peds case like this especially to this level. Buckle up because it gets intense but at least the next couple of episodes y'all will be able to detach to an extent. I hated seeing Sheera tear up like that over the little girl 😢

Saki 🏴‍☠️✨❤️‍🔥

probably part of y im desensitized to her behavior lol - i also just kinda figure that ppl hafta cope with all the heartbreak in the place somehow, so if part of that is finding enjoyment in trying new procedures, its not necessarily the worst thing in the world! just so long as its something the patient actually needs...but with all that said, yeah, maybe they still dont gotta hear all that tho 😅

Ragde

This episode is so rough. I worked in a PICU as a CNA for 2.5 years, and we had a patient similar to the little girl in this episode, and it's a case I still think about all the time

PAM

I witnessed a similar case when I was working at clinical in cook county. An 8 year old got shot in the head in the crossfire during a robbery in Chicago. They was still alive and every single doctor, nurse, and tech not doing anything were on it and they were in double time doing everything they could to save her, only to see in CT that there was too much blood filling up her head. They couldn’t save her. Everyone took it hard, even the people who’s done this for years.

multik

The first time watching this episode legitimately made me cry the most tears I've ever had before for a show. I forgot it was this episode and started crying Seeing the girl again.

A

So uh...how much would we need to crowdfund for y'all to just binge the rest of the season? Cus you still haven't gotten to the stressful portion of the season lol

User10101

I was crying right along with y'all 🥹

Jaelyn Mcgee

Both of the child cases really got me, esp Sheera and Roshi's reactions to it. but Willie's part of the episode really hit deep due to having been around so many dementia patients who can tell you with so much pride about what they did for their jobs. I remember one older black lady, who was a Jim Crow civil rights activist, teacher in addition to singing and having a whole bunch of albums that she'd sold when she was younger. In one of her more lucid episodes she gave me a activitst Guide she'd written in her 30s.

AnnaSama

The way I clung to my daughter after watching this the first time!

codexpop Zx

Let lupa catch up before season 2

CK12341

Man this episode crushes me more than any of the others

Gib

Man I knew everything that was coming and I still couldn't help but cry. As an older sibling the revelation in the family room broke me. Nick + Amber all in one episode is not fair.

Gib

Brave af for watching the Pitt in public, the cry risk is so high lmao

Gib

Yeah everyone I know who has had to work in the ED is similar. It seems like there's a lot of hardening, distancing etc. that healthcare workers do, but I'm not sure any amount of that will work for peds cases.

revolves.round.AVA

yo this episode has me BAWLING. As the eldest with 3 little sisters, this really pulled at my heart strings. Idk if I can watch this show no more😭

Robert Smith

You already past it. It was the first 5 minutes of episode 1. Everything else is pure pain.

Ekko08

This was such an emotionally charged episode.. I'm scared for the next ones based on the comments I've read 😔.

Inconspicuous Pug

39:32 For a split second piper begins to nod her head

Tuny kun

Yeah man, nah. You have to be some kind of zen monk who can live in the present and be able to let go of the past to do this kind of thing. I can't imagine all the tragedies the people in this field see and potentially take with them everyday. I would go insane for sure just dragging all of the awful memories with me. I wouldn't be able to let go of a single life that went out under my care. Too soft lol.

Fenpai

Organ donation is honestly the most amazing system in existence imo. The fact that almost every organ you have, can help someone out their, extending their life from a time limit they were on. My younger brother just had a heart transplant surgery, and although there are still bumps along his path in life. He now has an even better life expectancy than before. W Organ donors and the surgeons plus everyone else that make that magic work.

Tae

the older nurse lady is so awesome. Her and mel are my favorites

Tuny kun

My Mom has been in the medical field forever. She explained it to me like this. People, especially nurses eventually trend to geriatrics, because the death of an old person is much easier to accept than the death of a child. One got to experience a lot of life, and one was taken too early. Peds leads to a lot of cruel/harder to swallow realities.

victor salazar

I mainly meant the actors for the families

Mitch Coob

This episode stamped Mel and Dana as my favorite characters in the show.

Eric

This show is Sheera'a kryptonite. Her crying is making me cry more than when I first watched it 😭

Eric

She's definitely been in games and I think a few audiobooks.

Devin reid

Honor walks are a real common thing for organ donors seen a couple when I worked in a hospital

SecondChances96

Teach your kids/family to swim guys. I was in the pool with my little brother when I was 11, just swimming around in the deep end while he was in a little pool tube thing. Didn't even hear him struggle and I came up, turned around and saw him flipped over underwater. I'm 30 now and still have never felt the terror I felt in that moment. Thankfully I got to him before anything bad happened and he's perfectly fine. The way it happened in the show is horrible and an example why you always have to keep track of little kids but don't take a breather even when they're within arm's reach.

James Noël

Glad someone commented on this. Another case of black erasure. Similar to how open heart surgery was developed by a black man.

Drewb

Ya I have some criticisms of the show of stuff that comes later but they do great at showing simple yet very interesting topics to learn about. Especially those that pertain to the medical system or medical racism and much more.

Raymond Terry

Tough episode. No kids over here, but yeah, I learned how to swim as a kid growing up in England. It's something that should be taught and learned, no matter your race or "jokes" that people make about it.

Jas_chu

Willie: 20-something Roshi: I feel that And I feel that too Roshi I feel it too

Jamaal Ellison

Update number two: I got soup from Panera Bread, and I feel so much better. I think it was a combination of not having had fried food in a long time, the fish tasting old and left out, the grease tasting old—meaning they haven't changed it in a while—and consuming fried food. It was basically the axis powers of evil coming together in my stomach for the worst combination of problems possible, but the soup did the trick.

Mikaylin

Same you guys😢….same

Kinah

Why did that lady say she was Pipers boss of all things? She would’ve been better off lying about another relationship that would make more sense for her acting like that🥴 boss at the ER with you when you dont look like your in immediate care is already weird😭

britt

my point still stands tho since they're portraying drs and they wanted to make this accurate lol

Hybrid10Prime

What a horrible day for some rain...

Anaya Imari

My husband just doesn’t cry much. He didn’t even cry at our wedding. But I was SOOOO SHOCKED when I was bawling my eyes out, just to turn my head and see him crying too! This was by far the saddest episode in my opinion. Truly stuck with me!

Honored one

Freak man I can't handle being sad like this. Omgoshhhh 😭

Carrie Love

As soon as the lady said she didn't have a phone, I immediately said she's being trafficked. I was already thinking it but that just confirmed it for me.

RedSunCrusher!!!

Unfortunately he can't the shows that they started while Lupa was away will stay as duo reactions so Lupa won't be here for any of The Pitt reactions.

Teejay

I don’t like seeing anyone hurt in general, because it hurts so much. And honestly that aside I’d been on anti depressants that reduced how often things trigger an emotional response but the kid…the sweet kid Bella and her hero of a sister amber

Teejay

I am so glad your brother is fine, I truly am

Kris Barnes

Damn I was doing so well but this episode was the first to break me. God the last like ten minutes was brutal

kaldurobin

She was Santari Khri in Jedi Survivor!
