Thing is I think the reason D keeps on looking back to Capri is he sees her as an anchor for his thoughts. The first time he popped in the chip he said it was first night he ever slept peacefully. So her presence brought him solace.

Capri is not just a construct. She or i guess it was engineered with multiple constructs as it was explained last episode. or the one before that not sure

Capri isn't just one person, as in there wasn't a person walking around called Capricorn that got digitized. Per her explanation, she's a collection of a bunch of different people's digitized souls that got merged into one being that now calls herself Capri.

She also hinted at it when they first met. She was thinking out loud and reffered to herself "He, she, it, we?". Subtle note that her identity is made up of many different people and "Capri" is just the personality that eventually settled from all of them.

It's also the reason why she's constantly expressing herself with multiple eyes and even speaks with a layered voice at some points, like the end of this episode. They basically always tee up the viewer with the fact that Capri is some fusion of many many people.

I think what’s also missing is that there’s no flashback to D and his friends/family. He sells the emotion fine but there’s no connection to any of these nondescript figures they keep showing.

My theory is Capri is Talia's digitised soul and that her step dad didn't sexually abuse her instead he ran experiments on her but she was too young to fully understand exactly what happened but the fear alone stuck with her

Soulkiller can't save Talia, cause you can't digitize human consciousness. If you could put her brain into a full robot body that'd be one thing, but all Soulkiller would do is create a copy. Talia, the original Talia, still dies. You've just now got a machine that's a replica of the person, they're two different entities.
