you know what else is crazy? People shooting fire from their hands and controlling water with their mind.

ViralCorgi

I think you guys were confusing an meteor with a comet lol The comet makes an orbit around the Sun and is coming back around to pass by Earth after 100 years. It never actually came down to earth. Or at least that's the understanding I got from this.

there's a thing called suspension of disbelief, read about it

I personally always thought they used the engine in reverse to make that stop possible. I don't know that much about ships so maybe it's not possible. The only thing I know is when I would go on the water in a rowboat that's how I could stop instantly.

Shiratoshi

The comet fight is gonna be 🔥🔥🔥

Pendragon404

Btw they didn't control the comet with fire bending, the comet increased their fire bending power by like x10. That would've been insane if they could fire bend the comet though. Great reaction guys, keep it up!

SPOILERS! STAY OUT OF THE COMMENTS.

Man, I forgot how bad ass this episode was, has been great re-watching this show with you guys and laughing and enjoying the reactions as always! Such a great show, can't wait for you guys to fully experience it.

TheToweringOtakunt

Dude. That moment when he comes out of the inner sanctum...

Something cool to consider is remembering Monk Gyatso from the air temple. All those firebender bodies were comit amped fire benders. Man was a straight monster

Where's the spoiler? Unless they already removed it

Rcl

You guys shouldn’t look at Firebenders as being evil and the other nations as good people. When you are at war you think what ever side you’re on is the good side. Obviously we know as the audience the fire nation starting the war was wrong but the people in the fire nation are programmed to see themselves as the good guys through propaganda.

Roku hasn’t explained what he means by harnessing the comet’s energy yet. Small details like that are worth the wait when you get to that point in the show.

I guess. But Aang literally asked "The comet made them stronger?" And Roku replied saying yes. I've never talked to anyone who took it any other way but if you put it like that I guess it could be somewhat vague.

Ally

The biggest part of this that ppl always miss is that Roku was a bad ass earth bender like holy shit he used that lava to destroy everything who cares bout the fire like OMG ITS LAVA (lava is earth bender stuff)

Reign

shit you right that's fucking true I forgot that they amped up to kill the air benders... so this dude was holding off an army of amped fire benders by himself... shiiiiittt

Reign

yeah not all fire benders are bad guys in fact most of them are just soldiers following orders and im sure regular citizens don't really know the terrible shit they do it's war.

People don't always miss this, when the show first came out lava was assumed to be a firebender thing like when the firebending Avatar bends lava out of volcano in the Avatar State episode.

Eric Demo

I think the reason Roku also freed Zuko from the chains was because of what they revealed in Book 3.

Yeah when I was younger I assumed it was a fire-bending thing but now rewatching I can see it’s a earth-bending thing

WackySwacky

It's funny that when Admiral Zhao ordered his men to stop the engines to let Zuko pass that his ships literally stopped on a dime. Not how physics work. Boats can't stop on a dime. If you don't believe me, go watch a little known movie called Titanic lol.
