Yeah people these days get confused, women back then didn't fight because men stopped them. They didn't fight because why the fuck would they want to get hit by fire blasts. Tbh men really drew the short straw.

When you think about the lifespan of alot of these people back then. 15 was half of your life. Less during war times. If you can make children then technically you are a adult.

Kevs rey

Watching this ep here cuz its not on youtube, I feel like historian

ViralCorgi

"No wonder why she left" LOLOL I'm with Sheera. Even outside of North Tribe traditions, dude was going out of his way to just be a condescending a-hole. It was satisfying to see Katara stand up to him

RiaDara
>>35089450

Same, I'm just hype for them to see the entire series, especially if they go ahead and watch Korra afterwards

The Pebble

YOOOOO, with the princess' whole story line, she is almost like Elsa actually, Sheera needs to chill with these deep big brained callouts, you're scaring me girl. lmao

Dante Senpai

Mans luppa clearly remembered alot from this ep lol, ima need him to chill😭

TheToweringOtakunt

Unpopular opinion: Master Paku is a dick because the love of his life ran off without explanation.

Fano

Ya'll talk LOUDLY over 75% of episodes.

Joshua Curry

Fun fact the short name for the Aang and friends is the Gaang

Problem is since its in english it makes it harder for u guys. We watch with subtitles, i try to make the episodes as loud as possible without drowning us out

Joel Braaten

"legacy vagina" I'm dead 💀😂

Davon Thomas
>>35092180

Would you rather them sit quietly and not react? They can't have the show louder than they are

HollowedSlayer

Love you Lupa but you need to tone it down a tad man, can't hear a thing while you're shouting/laughing over characters talking.

Chris D. Jones

Before Zuko is hit with the blast he actually puts up a shield to protect him. Looks like a fire dome

Chris D. Jones

If you want to hear the dialogue clearly without anyone talking over it go watch the episode yourself.

usually you should have already seen the episodes though because its not a new series

HollowedSlayer
>>35105313

Oh I've already seen the series multiple times, just sucks when one of them talks over plot details. It's a minor gripe but still irks me if they might miss key details. Everyone has been pretty perceptive so far though with details.

Tyler

They watch with subs on. They don't miss much of what's going on usually

Lucas Santiago

It’s ok sheera I liked your legacy vagina joke 😂😂

Arsean Wilbon

Honesty the teacher isn’t so bad. I think we gotta remember that in the Avatar world, gender roles are a big thing if you look at all the nations mostly and only men fight. So I get why their customs are like that it’s old school way of thinking that’s relatable to early USA days or just the world in general

Chris

Remember to keep the caffeine away from the guy on the right before recording

HowardisBoss

One Piece Water 7 vibes. That was based on Venice too.

godUsoland

Legacy Vagina? I'm dead.

PS

The guy on the right looking at his phone should visit the doctor, he's acting like he's got the corona virus. He's heating up and coughing loudly.

DanielleM

One thing I want to point out is Katara and Sokka's grandma isn't a waterbender, so she didn't leave because they don't allow girls to learn waterbending. Though, I do believe she left because of the fact that there was a differences in the way guys and girls are treated including more than just waterbending.

Tej

legacy vagina

Fabbrizio Calamitous

You think it's creepy that a 16 year old was engaged, just remember that the healing instructor thought KATARA was engaged. She's 14. Northern Water Tribe is FUCKED.

Awkwardz

Oh fun fact about zuko and the explosion if you watch closely you can see zuko firebend a huge sphere around him to protect himself from the flames before he went flying out of the window

Chimpman

You act like this shit was not going on in the real world for thousands of years. 18 being adult is a relatively recent thing compared to the rest of human history. Not saying it's right, but it's not like the Northern Water Tribe is at all the only thing fucked in that world. Everywhere else is fucked, too. Don't single out the Water Tribe.

Danny

its a culture thing. being engaged at a young age doesnt mean jack shit. two kids could be engaged pre birth if their families agreed to it. its only fucked if they force the kids to be together. but sometimes the kids fall in love because of that engagement between them. being engaged shouldnt be frown upon but the final say should be with the kids

Ryn

When you 'hydroplane' in midair, is that still a hydroplane, or more like an aeroplane? [4:38 am] I need answers... *scrolling intensifies*

Ryn

Remember how waterbenders can bend large volumes of water around them? I'm pretty sure Zuko did the same thing with the fire from the explosion

Ryn

Lupa got that anime dissertation on lock. He always figure things out based on how it's animated. Favorite quotes: "That budget" "Whelp, can't see they faces, guess they bout ta get clapped" "Watch it be some BS like, (exactly what happens later in the episode)"

CJ Dennis

"No wonder she left" 🤣🤣🤣🤣. Blind Wave made that same joke with this episode. 🤣🤣🤣🤣.

CJ Dennis

In some parts of the world the age of consent is around 13-15, the further you go back in history people getting married young was commen especially when the term "teenager" didn't exist.

Koria Hayes

Sooooo if that's a betrothal necklace, does that mean aang's proposed twice? Once with the one he made during the Fortuneteller episode and then again in the Bato of the Water Tribe with the pre-made one? XD Also, those cuts and bruises on Zuko's face are more from the fall than the explosion. He had a sphere of his own fire to protect him from the blaze but he had a whole lot of deck standing in between him and water. Even if he avoided the deck of the boat thanks to the blast throwing him that far, hel-lo falling debris.
