Azula VA so good. Azula such a cool character

WeavyBoo

That end was cool, but I never could get outta my head that Zuko was walking around with that yee yee ass cut for a couple weeks till the rest of the hair grew to the point you couldn't tell dude had a hair yarmulke

Anthony Chase
>>35251253

Yeah he can use all of the other elements while in the avatar state because his previous lives already mastered them over many lifetimes but has to learn them individually because he can’t use them on his own yet. Also because he would die in the avatar state if he were to just use it just for the sake of fast tracking having to learn the other elements

Ohais

Bruh, Roshi really thought they were gonna show Zuko and Iroh kill themselves on a kids show lmao

Jota N.

their reaction when azula uses lightning 🤣🤣

Ohais
>>110917237

Yeah, but that's supposed to be a more grown up show than ATLA, and they cut away from it anyway

Wild
>>110917237

I mean to be fair they haven’t really hidden it much, the fight on the northern air temple they legit killed people by throwing them off the mountain, and book 1 at the end zhao legit just dies

Wild

Btw the whole my hero thing is kinda funny but everyone who watched avatar called todoroki zuko i always called him zuko at the start when he was first introduced

killilu

ngl i think aang purposefully slacked off on his water-bending training with the master so katara could teach him later on. like remember how katara acted when aang learned all her water skills quick when she first taught him? aang learns from his past mistakes lmao

Kai Lee

Every book just gets better and better. I personally like book 2 the most because of the great character development.

Omar Harriott

Nahhhhhh lupa u better blow these speakers out

Alex cleveland

Bro I just got dinner LETS GO. And lil shorty Azula is here😍😂

LUPASAN

Nope, Season 2, Saying the real name now. I must grow with the show lol

Mten10th

LOL!!!!! Roshi looked so confused when Lupa did the intro!

Gabby Boakye-yiadom

Actually regarding Horikoshi of MHA. Someone actually posed the question if he watched Avatar due to Zuko and Todoroki's similarities but he answered he never even heard or watched Avatar.

Mten10th

This episode was great because it showed how desperate this war has made everyone. From the Earth Kingdom general to Zuko wanting to go home to Aang knowing he has a short time limit to master the elements. I love how this season is written.

L

NOPE. Horikoshi has previously stated he never knew anything about ATLA. I even thought that for a while but I was wrong. He was asked about the close resemblance between MHA and ATLA but he openly responded with not knowing what it was. Apparently it is all coincidence. I don't really see a reason why he would lie either because he is very expressive when it comes to American comics and creations. He said some of his favorite heroes who he drew inspiration from was Goku and Spiderman and loved a lot of other American comics. He is even very open about liking stuff like Star Wars and those other books. You can easily tell how much of a fan he is from the names he uses and very recently in the anime with the play he added in with the festival. I honestly couldn't think of a reason as to why he would lie about never knowing about ATLA.... But that is hella similar and weird not gonna lie lol....

Tyler

Regarding Kohei Horikoshi taking inspiration ATLA, according to a question he answered during an interview he's never seen ATLA. Which is nuts because the similarities between the two are so distinct that it's been a popular fan theory that Todoroki was inspired by Zuko and of course the similarities between OFA and the Avatar

>>35242036

I swear in a video he said that how he remembers loving this show, and tbf he prolly could have forgotten most of the show but damn he's so annoying. Yelling and shit and interacting with the charters like they can hear em

Shiratoshi

Iroh is one of the best characters in the show tbh

Surazaku

I cant wait till best girl joins the team ^_^

Dalton Vance

I just caught up and aI have 2 more episodes! I LOVE YOU!!

kurumi Tokisaki

I just can't. Made in Abyss plus Avatar...You guys really are helping me through this quarantine.Seriously. Great reacts!

Ballerizana

I have a question do u guys b post 4 episodes on special days or something or is it every other week just wanna know that’s all😀

kurumi Tokisaki

I dont know if you guys care about the fighting styles, but everything from the hand motions to the footwork relates to a different martial art based on the elements. This show is pure martial art porn. Every angle and hand and foot placement is perfect. Aang's evasiveness is so smooth :o, but Azula has the very best combination style of fighting. There is one more lady coming up that even surpasses her in martial art techniques, but its far ahead in episodes. Cant wait.

>>35240538

hahaha I mean how old she 15, I'm pretty close to her age I'm not even in my 20s yet😂😂😂

Arturo

I forgot how much I loved Azula 😆

Corey Leach

They be sleeping on Uncle. Haven't seen this show in a while but I already knew Iroh was bout to fuck some shit up. Also I believe Aang has to learn the how to bend the element first before he can use it in the avatar state. Otherwise he would've been fucking shit up using the other elements in his past avatar triggers.

Hoodlum JoeBro

I just love watching people’s reactions to avatar for the first time. I can’t wait to see how they react to some of the other uses of bending in the show. It’s so good!

Davon Thomas
>>35245201

I think they usually post 2 episodes a day. Rare occurrences for more is when the episodes are odd numbered when going into a season finale

Rcl
>>35253268

Yeah all the sub categories to each of the 4 elements.

Sheraya san

lol no its not. they are similar but its not "the same shot" that has been done a million times before. have you ever seen a 90s power ranger poster?

Black Gravity

Yes sir we getting straight to it gotta love it

Morgan Prophet

azula uses blue fire thats what she shot out before the lightning

Justin Baker

The one main difference between the avatar state, and one for all is that one for all is passed down through choice, and the next user normally has mo connections to the past. In avatar, it is a literal reincarnation, so aang is roku, and kiyoshi, and so on. Hopefully you guys watch legend of korra after this. Its also an amazing show. Not as great of a storyline, but the animation, and fight scenes, are amazing. And it also delves deeper into what the avatar state is.

Brandon Domer
>>35240403

Book 3 is the best!!! Not even talking about the finale either...Every episode is killer and no filler!

Wagner m

AVATAR ONLY ANIME THAT DONT YELLED OUT ATTACKS BEFORE THEY DO IT LOL

The Pebble
>>35299882

At least in My Hero they yell the attack move as they're doing it, or right after. XD

Austin Yun

Man no lie you're one of the GOATS of reacting.

SalemSan

The conversation at the end? I think you guys will really enjoy Legend of Korra after you are done.

Griff
>>35240538

I feel you man, i loved katara when i younger and this came out, she was my "disney" crush for a long time

Otter Mane

Horikoshi claims that he has "never" seen Avatar before

Josephine Rodriguez

Ugh I hated avatar Korra, dont watch it lol, itll ruin everything that's great about this show. The movie is trash too

KenniB

I'm glad you caught that Deku/Avatar similarities Roshi!

MrNoor114

I like how the background in season 1 was from season 3 and now you got season 2 on season 2 lol

Shaan
>>35299882

Except when that Dumbo Yue's fiance did it to Zhao😂

WhateverIFeelLike
>>36620647

It wasn’t even written by the same team. Sure the creators were the same, but Aaron and the rest of the writing staff came up with so much of the original story and what the new team came up with was just trash in comparison

WhateverIFeelLike
>>35291942

That’s what they get for switching out the entire writing staff. If the co-creators hadn’t been attached it wouldn’t even be cannon and it’s barely passable as cannon as it is

WhateverIFeelLike

Avatar was always the co-creators take on anime and what they thought a western anime would be like. As a result they drew a lot for various anime as well as Japanese and eastern mythology and philosophy. Horikoshi has said he’d never heard of avatar before so it’s likely that both creators drew from some of the same sources when creating characters

Reign

lol Horikoshi "claims" he never heard of avatar before which is sort of unbelievable so your realization is sorta wrong but it's probably not as Horikoshi has kinda stolen lot of ideas from other shows to put them in my hero and pretends otherwise lol.

LK

F for captain planet

LK

Also im sooo glad you're enjoying the show as much I've been these years

SarumanTheStinky

only few reactors got the significance of Iroh and Zuko cutting their hair, most reactors thought they do it as a disguise because they are wanted criminals, but in reality it is to show they cut ties with the fire nation

Anonymous
>>38195045

I don’t think they cut ties with the fire nation, it’s not like they joined the avatar right after, pretty sure it was for their identities

AK Jay
>>35299882

That’s exactly why it isn’t an anime, this show doesn’t use those annoying tropes and cliches. I don’t see anyone claiming American Dragon: Jake Long to be an anime, both shows have Asian influence and are made in America. Weebs claim ATLA is an anime because it’s great

Fabbrizio Calamitous

I'm so glad this isn't just a casual watch, you guys are doing the deep dive into what shit means and I am HERE for it.

Skebaba
>>38195045

It's usually done by many warrior cultures (Samurai come to mind, for example) to signify Change, usually after having sworn some kind of an Oath, whatever it may be.

Michael McCarthy
>>35251253

He used waterbending in Book 1 Episode 3 I think it was when he escaped from Zuko's ship with the Avatar state.

Andre Avery

Everybody gangsta until them eyes start glowing

Anthony Longoria
>>36620647

Once you ignore the nostalgia factor TLoK actually holds it's own, it has ups and downs but a lot of that comes from being less episodic imo than ATLA is. Being as time jumpy and episodic as ATLA works even as you get older because of just the sheer amount of attention to detail and the show aging with it's viewers. Thus pacing and development completely differ. That and TLoK both adds a lot to the lore but also falls into some tropes ATLA avoided or mocked. Comparing the two is pointless is what I'm getting at as they're two different methods of telling stories with similar foundations

WindShinobi590

Pour one out for Captain Planet lmfao

rickie woodson

my hero actually takes a lot of inspiration from xmen, particularly new mutants. if you read the manga there are interviews/blerbs by the creator about how much he loves the xmen. he even put in some xmen fan boys as side characters in his spinoff series "my hero: vigilantes". cyclops, colossus and wolverine are his faves

Yeet202
>>71283262

Yes. But it’s also obvious he took inspiration from Avatar also. I mean come on Todoroki is basically just Zuko. 😂

Nezuko Thicc

This was uploaded on my birthday 🎉

WackySwacky

Avatar Roku made it clear at the end of the episode that the Avatar state should only be used as a last resort, because if you are killed while in the Avatar state the cycle of reincarnation stops and the Avatar will literally cease to exist. Meaning, of course, that Aang would be the last Avatar, which would be very, very bad. So every Avatar has to relearn the 4 elements themselves so they don't have to risk ending their cycle of reincarnation by relying on the Avatar state.

CJ Dennis
>>91018592

Korra explained further why it's a drawback. Killing an avatar in the avatar state is basically killing Rava's light spirit.
