Joshua Hughes

For anyone saying that’s a tough situation and trying to be “adult” about Netetro and killua’s grandpa respecting that moment with Meruem… they were willing to sacrifice 5 million people with the perspective of taking out the ants for the “Big Picture” so the whole situation is hypocritical

Joshua Hughes

They aren’t fighting thugs or people who are just bad. Remember these ants can destroy the entire world. So the argument about being an adult to help Komugi doesn’t apply here because they should be willing to sacrifice her to kill the ants

Wallet

four years later and I'm still right little baby bitch. Gon is cringe this arc. Stay mad little bitch.

Wallet

LOL Where in my comment did I say I dislike or hate Gon? Do you morons just like to make up shit?

lyssa

All I have to say is peak voice acting from Gons VA

Jerkwater

voice act just thanks

Caleb J

And I quote " I found gon just complete CRINGE character and started disliking him."

quxntum

the confliction on gon’s face at 17:30 is unreal man. he truly doesn’t know whether to do believe pitou or not as part of him probably wants to believe that pitou is actually saving her for good but he can’t help but want to beat pitou down

L

Any konosuba tonight? Seems like forever since we got it...

L

Or have you been posting those on Thursday now? I guess I am confused cause you been posting these HxH on Tuesday’s instead of Wednesday’s so it mixes my schedule for these up.

EZ

YESSIRRRR THIS EP IS GOATED IN THE ANIME HALL OF FAME, the voice actor straight murderd this scene!!!

Devin Jersey

Thank you for the videos you put out, but idk why ppl gotta spam about episodes being posted lmao theyll come out when they come out

Carlos

Megumi Han, shoutout to that queen for ANNIHILATING this performance.

L

???? Really? I live in Kentucky and I could of sworn you dropped them on Tuesdays a while back. I thought you dropped HxH on tuesdays and JoJo on Wednesday..... maybe I am the one who is confused as fuck right now lol 😂 ....Hold up I better not be getting dementia I’m only 20 years old. Next thing I know I won’t know how to eat and that is my favorite thing to do... 😱😱

EZ

Best reaction I’ve ever seen Roshi, i was trying to hold back tears until you did, then I let it out😭

Carlos

If there's one takeaway from this arc is that Gon doesn't fucking deserve Killua. That beautiful sparky boy is too good for him.

EZ

Lol that’s the worst comment ever, Killua wouldn’t even be who he is now without Gon smh 🤦‍♂️

Shaw

No one knows that Kite is dead

Shaw

Their mission isn't to defeat Pitou, Pouf, or Youpi. None of these dudes is capable of such a feat. A direct attack from Netero didn't even SCRATCH Pitou. They are actual Monsters. I'm not gonna spoil anything.

Carlos

Doesn't mean Gon deserves his goodness. I stand by it!

Joshua Burns

I get your point in the end but the difference being that the hunters are human they went there to protect humans from these creatures, sacrificing a blind little girl just because you’re upset might at well be just like them. Like if Gon had gone through with it he’d be my most hated character rn

JD

When the assassin becomes the moral compass in the room...

JD

See how deep Pitou's instinct as a Royal Guard is. The only thing that matters is seeing the King's order through. Not being able to gives her existential dread.

JD

I didn't want to spoil by saying this, but since you've experienced it, yes, you need to have a box of tissues ready for this arc.

Alex cleveland

Just a GOAT tier anime right here. After watching HxH, its been in my anime GOAT shows with Naruto, FMA, AOT, Yu Yu. Like man, the VA for Gon too was amazing...

JD

You gotta bear in mind, how would Pitou even know who Kite is? She fought and killed him, then turned him into a puppet. We never saw an introduction scene, "hi I'm Kite, nice to meet you; kinda rude to take my arm off before we gave our names."

Viela Guay

Everyone comes into the episode hype for gon's revenge and leaves being like "well, that wasn't what I wanted"

Viela Guay

Also legit one of the best showcases of the "ugly angry" that we don't get in anime often instead of the usual "powerup rage/willpower angry"

Ricardo

relax dude, Gon literally changed Killua. After all the good things Gon did to Killua and you'll tell him to abandon him wtf

Warsame

Man i forgot how good Gons voice actor was in this episode. This is always a tough episode to watch

JunpeiFES .

I didnt expect you to break down there lol this is great xD it means you are not ready and it means that i am for you not to be lmao keep it up man, ill wait for the next weeks :p

EZ

I was agreeing until I saw Naruto lol

David Salazar

I think Gon is the only one that doesn't know. Since he couldn't use nen/gyo when he saw kite.

MrNoor114

fucking SSS tier of voice acting and animation.

Peach

Yes she did! The english voice actor can't even compare to Megumi Han!

EZ

They way they did 116 and 131 was just hard to watch!!!! They tried their best!

Peach

Also Pitou doesn't know who Kite is, she's never heard his name before but even if she knew of course she's ready to agree to whatever terms Gon's wants as long as she could heal Komugi.

Peach

Megumi Han voice acted her damn heart out for this episode! She deserved an award for that if she didn't get one for it already.

Jake Disarufino

One of the best episodes in the series 🔥

Damiester

Gon's emotions on this episode captures why people harm others. It angered him more than Pitou was not completely evil. He prioritised his revenge over everything. At that point, he barely cared about saving Kite until Killua reminded him.

Damiester

Kite was also literally invading their base with the intention to wipe them out lol. So regardless of how you feel about Pitou due to your bias towards Gon, objectively speaking, Gon's immoral here. Remember that Komugi is the ONLY innocent person in this scene and she's the one you wanted to be sacrificed.

Damiester

Pitou wasn't deceiving anyone. She literally didn't know who Kite was. She would've probably kept her promise too if it was possible.

Damiester

And one more thing. If you look at the bigger picture, the best way forward was not to take revenge. Gon should've broken Pitou's limbs just like she conceded for the deal. That would've been the best plan. Except you and Gon both wanted the revenge for no other reason than selfish emotions.

Jaime Ruiz

What always upsets me about the fandom during these episodes is that they think Killua is always in the right... but they seem to forget that dude has killed pleeeenty of people, and sometimes he did it when he was just annoyed without a second thought. Yet, he wants Gon to stop because of Komugi? Uhhhh that's always kind of been weird to me. He's smart and should've had Gon's back regardless of what else was going on because Gon always has his friends back. He doesn't care if theyre good or bad people. If you have value to Gon in some way he will do his best for you. Also everyone seems to think that Pitou is caring and all that but they seem to forget that the only thing she cares about is the King. No matter what it is, so if he has value to Komugi then Pitou will try to protect her or whatever. The ants gotta go.

adem yaylali

Well about the "There were no hints that hxh showed that gon is like this beast".. oh trust me there have been PLENTY of hints you just missed them. They were hints from people that have met gon and said in their inner dialogue that Gon is a dangerous kid.

K-RayTV

This wasn't the fight you were expecting huh? It was all on a mental front! Great episode

godUsoland

Yeah, 116 has always been one of the greatest anime eps I've ever seen. The acting! The music!

Lurkingposter

So aura reflects emotional state. Zeno is a great example of that. His attacks against Chrollo were purple like Hisoka to reflect his hostility. When transporting the King, he made sure his aura was neutral which made it look golden. Gon's aura being tinged with black means Gon is in a headspace darker than Hisoka. Let that sink in.

Lurkingposter

This fact is almost always forgotten on first viewing since we're following Gon and friends. Pitou didnt even recognize Gon when he pulled up, that's how little he mattered to her when she ran into them.

Philbo

Well cause he is in the right though for the most part.. you gotta remember there best friends and they been through some shit together. The reason he was trying to avoid Gon killing Komugi is because Gon isn’t the type of person to take an innocent persons life. Like if you look back at before Kite Died and they were doing that little tournament thing with the ants lol. He literally said that he didn’t wanna kill them regardless of them being bad. And even when they were fighting in Gyro’s place he didn’t kill the ant kite made him fight even though Kite blatantly told him to go for the head, he only cut him in half. If Gon killed Pituo AND KOMUGI he knew Gon would have never forgave himself. Like ever since he let himself get to that point. Killua knew that.

Jordan Tidwell

If gon were to push pitous shit in right then and there, the humans become much worse beings than the ants. ( although one can argue the ants could never truly be as evil as humans to begin with. )

Trevor

Let them tears flow my guy

Jay Johnson

Roshi is right tho. If the roles were flipped the ants would never wait for the humans to heal someone. For everyone thinking humans are worse 🙄

Devin B

I think his nen turning dark is due to the fact that this is the first time that Gon is experiencing these kinds of feelings before. He is by nature someone who is pure, strong willed and is always able to see the good in others but this is his first time losing someone close to him and seeing him all messed up the second time solidified how Gon's nature is slowly changing as time goes by. At this point his mental state is all messed up and is leaning towards a darker side to him.

Fallen.1

@jay johnson , humans are worst tho because humans know the difference between right and wrong, but still choose to do wrong and be evil, whereas animals live mostly off instincts and survival.

botanbutton

Megumi Han really impressed me when I watched this the first time. The raw emotion in her voice.....I felt it.

botanbutton

I love the fact that Togashi used that to the story's advantage. We know who Kite is but Pitou does not!

Karheem bamboo

Togashi: you see how dark this square is, hold gons beer

Wut Suthirachartkul

This is Gon under extreme emotional pain. In life there will be times where your loved ones act selfishly or irrationally, and if you have the mental capacity in that moment, please help them not abandon them. They might not be able to help you when you are at your worst, but that doesn’t mean that you are too good for them does it? Things aren’t black and white Carlos and I hope when such situation comes where you witness your family or friend going through turmoil, you would help them like Killua did to Gon. When Gon is healthy again, he would also pull Killua out of hell I believe.

Reign

the whole point of this was to reinforce the fact that Gon is a child. You forget he's only like 13-14 throughout the show and this was the first time you realize he's actually immature. He refuses to accept kites death and is letting it disrupt his soul and reject reality hence the black aura corrupting his normal aura. He's forcing power through straight anger and rage and rejection. This is why Killua has been extra protective of him lately because he realizes Gon is still clinging to this falsehood that Kite is alive and he can save him and not accepting reality because that's his personality.. always hopeful and positive biased. Which is why he's important to killua because they balance each other out since Killua is a detached/objective person.

Joel Braaten

No matter how many times I see this episode, it's still just as powerful as the last time I watched it.

Hennessy Todo

This part was wild; if you kill Pitou during the healing process, you can, by default be considered the killer of Komugi, or at least a contributor to her death since it stopped her restoration process. The ultimate decision.

Trace Williams

i disagree with ur statement of there being "zero hints" that a monster dwelled within gon. it was stated by multiple nen masters throughout the show that he was special and extremely dangerous. wing san, illumi, hisoka, bisky, razor, etc all pointed his potential out. and now we are realizing that potential

Lloyd Edwards

Gons VA deserves an award for the show they put on this episode

Hbitz

it also doesnt help that hes a child with absolutely 0 grief counseling

Wallet

tbh this is why i like killua more in the series much more then gon, i get gon is a child but he doesnt care at the moment for another humans life thats in danger hes acting like brat he is, where killua is same age but hes mentally more mature he understands that innocent bystander is more important, i found gon just complete CRINGE character and started disliking him, ya sure she killed kite but killua also liked kite just as much and he aint being a little brat

Thanad

So, you dislike Gon, because of his imense Emotional Pain and being absolutely lost in his Emotions, he is about to kill the person who caused this Pain and who is healing an innocent bystander. And you like Killua more because of it? Do you remember that Killua killed hundreds of innocent people? We even saw him kill 2 innocent on the Airship who were just pissed of he bumped into them. Killua propably also isn't really Mentally Mature. He is used to Death "tried" to kill his mother, he is able to shut of emotions, focus on Logic and his Goal for the most time, But even that we have seen him fail where he get's pissed off and doesn't care who he kills. Sure he hasn't an emotional breakdown like gon and just kills them without an internal struggle. Still, i really like Killua and how he, thanks to gon, finaly was able to discover being a normal child with feelings and joy and all. Also if Pitou killed Gon or anyone close to Killua, he would turn his Switch really quick and i am sure he would Kill everyone in his way for revenge. Also Gon and Kite had a much deeper Bond than Killua and kite, although it wasn't really shown that well in the anime. i actualy never had the feeling Kite was more than just another Teacher for Killua. Still, love both characters, actually nearly all HxH characters. But calling Gon a little brat because of his emotional state, damn thats not nice.

Alellion

A very important note that is left out of the anime , as mentioned above, was prior experience and bonding between Kite and Gon. Kite is in all reality, the closest thing that Gon has had to a father figure in his life. And also speaking of fathers, Kite is by FAR the best connection to Ging that Gon has, and with that being his primary goal in his life currently, having the compounding emotional duress of Kite's death thrust onto him is definitely a much bigger toll for Gon than Killua. It's easy to wave away Gon's age with a generalized "I know he's an naïve child BUT", though the reality is that this is the first major death that Gon has ever experienced. This has been a highly traumatic few months for a 12 year old boy.

Mavereth

imagine someone seeing this after only watching the first two episodes of hxh 😂😂

Astor Lefflinker

I agree with Roshi's assessment of the situation. If they killed Pitou right there and then, yes it wouldn't be humane. They'd be just like the ants and they can even be considered as "bad guys", but Pitou is very dangerous. So Roshi's question is right, yes, the girl might die, but are we gonna risk millions of lives because of one girl? I understand it's anime but if it's real life, I would have supported an action that have taken out Pitou right there and then because once it recovers it's aura, she could go in a rampage and there's no guarantee that the human side will still win. SPOILERS AHEAD ---> It's just like how Netero finished off Meruem, it wasn't "humane", he even said "don't understand the malice of humans", but it had to be done.

Gigi

i get what you mean but in this situation, gon isn't someone who is prepared to make sacrifices like that and take responsibility for it for humanity, he's a kid throwing a tantrum of rage bc he's lost someone important to him. he could have killed pitou right there, but would he have been able to keep komugi out of harms way and at least stop the bleeding like an adult would...same reason why killua and me if i was in that situation hesitated is the same reason why the two grandpas didn't take the king's most vulnerable moment and use it as an opportunity to kill him. personally i think what makes humans human is the ability to show mercy esp when a life of a child is at risk in moments like these but idk it's subjective

this guy ?gae

glad the king left otherwise both netero and gon would bodythe royal guard and pre rose meruem loool
