You talk about people being more powerful than they should be while ignoring that aang had less than a year to learn all 4 elements while other avatars needed decades. There are plenty of reasons to criticize korra. I agree with everything you said in your first sentence aside from her not being complex. But a lot of peoples complaints about korra could easily be applied to tla, and y'all never have the self awareness to realize that. It ws never going to be as good as tla, because I have literally never seen a show that is, but y'all blow this hatin shit wayy out of proportion.

One huge piece of advice when you get into Legend of Korra. Do not think it's the same show as Avatar The Last Airbender. If you do you will hate it. It is its own show and has it's own unique messages and ideas.

I look forward to their uploads for this, since they react to the entire uncut episodes, and this will now be the fourth time I've tried to watch through LoK. Farthest I've ever gotten is halfway through season 4 on my second attempt. Hopefully this time will be different, since it's just more fun to watch it with someone else. Maybe they'll like what I liked about LoK, maybe they'll dislike what I disliked, or maybe it'll be something else entirely. Regardless, it should prove to be entertaining.

I just don't like Korra as a character at all and some of the stuff that happens with the show is annoying in general. They should of made the arc that continues off from Zuko wanting his mother instead of this korra shit but I never had a say in it so yea..... I just think if they did that it would of wrapped up the series instead of leaving it on a cliffhanger with that question about his mother. They never needed to make a continuation with a new avatar just to stain the original that was amazing on its own.

Korra isn't god awful but it is nowhere near good enough to be a continuation to ATLA. I am planning on at least trying to keep up with their reactions to it but holy shit I got fed up multiple times with the series when I watched it long long ago when it came out. Korra is given a whole lot from the get go. I didn't like her character and I didn't watch every single episode of the series but when people say korra is just as good or even better than ATLA I just play it off as those people being mentally ill cause that is what it takes to ever think something like that. Korra also completely ruins the image of what I imagine the ATLA characters to be after they finally settle down at the end of this series. Not at all what I picture these great characters to end up being later on in life. In all honesty this is the biggest reason I do not like the Korra series. I liked it better when it was left up to my imagination as to how these characters spent the rest of their life.

Korra is ok season one is fine and season three is one of my favorites for most of it mostly just the villains. Just from a show writing perspective it lacks a lot of the time the best things about it is the increased budget and technology allows for great fights and the expansion of the power system it just sucks to think that they could’ve done a continuation of this story instead of a new subpar story. It speaks a lot to a shows quality when excusing a certain air bender who won’t be named my favorite parts of the shows are flash backs to the adult characters of ATLA just my personal opinion still can’t wait to watch with y’all

Korra may not be the same tier as AtLA but it's still a great show in comparison to most. I personally love it, but I'm a sucker for anything that can expand a universe I'm invested in and this one has been at the top of my list for years. I love that they played with more serious & dark tones in Korra that they couldn't really do with AtLA. Def read the comics, they bridge the gap between the shows time wise.

I've been rewatching some Korra scenes and I know people say it's not as good as Last Airbender (maybe from a writing standpoint IMO) but so many of the fight scenes are A+ especially in the later seasons, and it's beautifully drawn/animated, I keep finding myself pausing certain scenes just to take in how amazing it looks. I'm sure you'll love it.

People always love putting words in themselves to change up someone else’s script. I don’t have a problem with you liking it. I said I would try and keep up with their reactions to it and give it another chance. I also don’t care that the older series ended and a new one was made. I just simply would of rather had them make the story they had to put into a book which was the answer to the cliffhanger at the end of the series with Zuko asking about his mom rather than the new series. It left ATLA open with questions instead of a proper conclusion. Then they could make whatever continuations they wanted. I enjoyed Korra. ...At the beginning. It got increasingly worse with time. The main character is awful, the supporting characters are nearly as bad, the story ranges between dumb and boring and basically never makes any sense, it became really clear really quickly that they were just making up the worldbuilding as they went and just kinda making it whatever was convenient for what was happening in that moment with no thought to all other moments, and the fight choreography is extremely overrated (I have a feeling people's brains are tricking them into thinking the choreography is better simply because of the art style change).

lol people out really made about Korra. There really is only a few episodes were Korra is considered “weak” and that’s mostly due to Nick being horrible to the writers. And honestly, I find those episodes pretty entertaining still. The rest of the show is absolutely amazing. As someone mentioned above, there hasn’t been a reactor that’s didn’t like Korra.

also that they only got hired per season, they never knew if they got another one because nickelodeon. Especially season 4, where the last season needed to be rushed, because they got no money and were told to lay off animators. But the studio head said no, and payed them from his own pocket, so they dont lose their jobs suddenly. Also the last few episodes where never shown on TV, they where only available on their website on nickelodeon.

I think Korra is considered bad in part to Korra having a different feel and tone compared to Avatar. I think the world feels less magical to some and it’s taken as a negative thing rather than it simply being different. While Korra does have more weaknesses than ATLA, it’s still a strong show.

Korra is VERY underrated imo. All I tell my friends when they're watching both shows for the first time, is that Korra is its own thing and to not go into it thinking it's AtLA 2.0. Korra is a very different person and Avatar from Aang with her own growth to experience, and I wouldn't have it any other way. I'm glad they made the choices they did in Korra, better than making a poor replica of the original. I think people are so into it that it's impossible to make any choice that will make everyone happy. So just enjoy what you enjoy. I love some stuff about Korra, I don't love some stuff about Korra. That's how I feel about MOST shows. It's fine.

I think everybody wanted Korra's journey to be similar to Anag. But I love how Korra started cocky, and by the end of season four, she was humble as the avatar. Also, Korra expanded on the world of Avatar and had more real-world political consequences

If you never watched Korra, then your entire statement is biased and irrelevant honestly. How can you have an opinion about something you never watched? I love Korra just as much as I loved ATLA. I watched both and honestly Korra is definitely an all time favorite of mine. ATLA is of course but to me, the storyline written for Korra is so different and really expands on the ATLA universe. I don't know what Logan Campbell is talking about but the older versions were written well. Just because you imagined it differently, doesn't mean that they didn't get it right. Korra is a lot more realistic and I think that's okay.

I don't see a point in really comparing the shows honestly because they are both great. Also, you're missing out because you really dissapointed yourself. It wouldn't even make sense to imagine their future being a certain way when there were small little cliffhangers which could of taken any possible route with the writers. Korra literally expands on the history of the avatar and their world of bending. To each it's own though.

Season 3 is fine. It's on par with the standard ATLA episodes and that's high praise. Every other season however... if you look at Korra at its own then the show is alright and quite fun to watch. As a sequel to ATLA however it's a disappointment at minimum and an absolute disgrace to the franchise at maximum. The highest points that Korra reaches as a show are only achieved because it can ride on the coattails of ATLA. On its own Korra barely achieves anything that doesn't seem contrived or kinda stupid. That's my take on it. While I would rate ATLA 9/10, I would rate Korra in comparison 6/10. Enjoyable and dumb fun with some nice action but definitely not on par with its predecessor.

If Katara watched a dragon dance could she suddenly fire bend? No. Because the energy required for it isnt in her lineage. but her character isn't complex.. i doubt its even because she's a girl its because she's selfish, annoying, and the cause of basically every situation because she refuses to listen to her master. Not to mention what she does with Bolin at the beginning, and the fact that she is a murderer, has full control over the avatar state and still somehow is weaker then a 12 year old boy (aang) plus most of her opponents. Also here's a story hole TY LEE IS GOOD BRUH WTF WAS THAT FIRST VILLAIN I did enjoy watching it but I never liked any of the characters (besides kai tension and kids) , their over intricate designs, their arcs, and the fact that now everyone can do things that only masters should be able to do.

Nobody noticed the reason Toph's actor is a big buff dude is cause the play is based on interviews/eyewitness accounts of Team Avatar's adventures/encounters and pretty much all the people who faced Toph got their asses handed to them by a 12-year-old blind girl, LOL who's gonna admit they lost to a little girl? "So tell me about this Toph person, can you describe them to me?" You can tell this episode had to be so much fun for the creators. They are just making fun of themselves and the jokes are clearly meant to breach the fourth wall. Putting Zuko's scar on the wrong side is because there was a noted mistake earlier in the series where they accidentally did that. "Did Jet just die?" is because Nick wouldn't let them explicitly say it. And yes skipping the great divide of course was intentional lol. Straight up the creators breaking the fourth wall and being like "yeah... that episode was trash just skip it." Zutara reference in the play was because fans shipped them. Making fun of Zuko's hair wildin' out more and more each episode and making fun of his honor on repeat lol. People can bitch about this episode being filler but it was the perfect recap before the finale and basically an open letter to the fans from the creators of the show. I thought it was absolutely brilliant!

Cringey? It's pure 4th wall breaking satire. It's hilarious. The writers took every fandom argument and criticism and even their own mistakes and shone a spotlight on all of it, WHILE recapping the show before the finale. That's not cringe, it's pretty darn brilliant.

Funny thing is Toph was originally supposed to be a big muscular guy, but when Bryan Konietzko was pitched the idea of making him a 12 year old blind girl that appeared helpless at first glance, he fell in love with the idea. The name was always going to be Toph though.
