Guy sounds like a sentient nerd emoji. Just watch the show or don't. Yes this show is not as good as ATLA, no it is not awful. Does some things much better than ATLA, not just animation. The villains, most importantly. Zaheer and Kuvira are awesome. None of the ATLA villains were nearly as well-written.

Gloccr

i love boruto

damein brown

Remember, this is Korra's first time outside the Water Tribe. She has been sheltered her whole life up to this point. So she doesn't know anything about the world.

Kwame Hasani Salmon

I never notice that the intro is basically the latest avatars in order

JotaroDrake

Yeah this show ass, boruto fr

Totally agree: There are gonna be a lot of mixed reactions to the episodes in the comments, so just watch at your own pace and as Faiz said, let the show speak for itself :D

I've been subbed to a few different react channels on patreon, and you guys are consistently the best. Most active uploads, and just best reactions in general. Thanks for being so awesome!

Erd'na

I just have to mention this. At any point you feel the story is rushed or disjointed in between season. Korra was originally just a 12 episode mini-series. After that the creators pitch in a follow up movie to ATLA based on the comic books. Which nickelodeon declined and instead expanded korra to 26 episodes (S2) in total. After some time, nickelodeon expanded korra to 52 episodes(S3 & 4). Hence the story feels rushed or disjointed because they weren't planned from the start.

Cody Braim

They did comics in between, but a lot of stuff still is unknown. It was never said if Sokka and Suki stayed together.

Shamar

I feel like there are a lot more benders in the world Of legend of korra than there were in ATLA.

Devin B

If you guys really want to know what happened to Zuko's mom its in the comic titled Avatar the Search. The story is pretty good in my opinion.

Heavenly Demonic Emperor

Yooooo I wanna get a shirt that says You See Jesus with Azai and Aang on it lol

Dimitri

Mad quick, the Avatar thirst is real.

Jaime Ruiz

This series in my opinion is garbage. Good luck getting through it. This is where my journey with you fine folks ends with the Avatar series.

Choua

I love watching your end discussions. Its always so entertaining!

Keyword* your opinion it’s an ok series when u get into the lore

Bona Fide

bouta cry. i love content!

Personally, I love Korra a lot.

Lalisa Truong
>>38364384

Nickelodeon also didn't expect Korra to be so popular and successful so when that happened, they wanted more.

Eugene Conner
>>38364384

I didn't know that. But I do know there was tension between the studio and the creators which caused issues in season 4. I remember being annoyed when the episode releases became inconsistent and ultimately went to streaming only.

Erd'na
>>38364384

Not to spoil anything to them. But these events is why S1 and S2 endings were like that. There were suppose to be the end of korra. Hence the disjoint, unlike S3 and S4. The story is more woven together because both seasons were planned together.

godUsoland

ATLA has 6 books out currently. The Promise is #1. Start there. It fills in a lot of the unanswered questions, and show what they have been up to after the war.

damnjerick

Yooo I'm so happy to be watching this with yall!

godUsoland
>>38362885

Most of the bad comes from issues with Nick. S1 was planned. S2 was sprung on them last minute. Then, they were told they had to make 4 seasons, but they were given enough time that they came out well. Except near the end of S4, where they were told to either fire half their staff, or make a clip episode to save the budget.

Hoodlum JoeBro

Woooow y’all move fast lol Hope you guys enjoy the series, and nice to know y’all will compare it to itself rather than the OG masterpiece.

Reem

I'm only 1:20 in, but I will say that that was alot of fans' problem back then (mine included). TLAB was such a masterpiece that we couldn't just watch LOK for what it was. It went in a different direction story-wise that I think alot of us weren't ready for. We hated that there was that big-ass time skip, we needed some answers lol. But I've rewatched it twice since then and its awesome in its own right. You won't be disappointed.

Chai Tea

I almost cried when I got the email notification ... Love you guys for posting this FIRE 🔥 content so frequently for us ❤️

>>38371131

Same. On its own, it’s a fine show that has a lot of missteps, but it gets there eventually. But if you compare it, it’s absolutely Night and day.

Shaan
>>38365352

Damn. That's one whole useless comment. Good riddance!

CWykes
>>38374732

Wooow its been along time since ive audibly laughed at a comment lmao. Thank you

Tarmari

Lol damn, so Aang is the statue of liberty? 😂

Player456

definitely read at least the comic called "The Promise" it helps fill some gaps

Kris

Yesss! Love this show. This and ATlA are GOAT status back to back

William Abbott

The consistency and quantity is why this is the best channel on Patreon 💪🔥

Norrin Radd

Like this post if you like Korra as much as or more than the original series. This series is a rollercoaster for real!

RiaDara

I can't wait until they (insert spoiler here)

Corey Leach

SInce Sokka was a young war genius, he probs created the nastiest fleet in existence.

Senjioh

And another journey begins ^_^ I heard so many negative things about Korra I hope that they were over exaggerated.

Alex cleveland

I never watched this show till now.... I got hella emotional when hearing Aang and Soka passed away. Never knew this show would do that. 😭🤧

Sheraya san

oh damn no breaks on this train!

Pendragon404

Okay, just a heads up. If the plot of Korra seems rushed that's because the directors were originally green-light for 12 episodes, that's also why she came out being nasty with 3 out of 4 elements. They were then green-light for a second season, then a 3rd and 4th at the same time. Keep that in mind when you watch it. I think that's why most people don't like Korra as much as AtLA because (without spoiling anything from the rest of the show) she come off as a Mary Sue.

Lurkingposter
>>38397159

She's too flawed to be a Mary Sue. She comes out the gate bending 3 elements because her mastering all the elements would of been a retread of Avatar.

L

Uggghhh I hate some of these characters but whatever....

L
>>38365352

I don't blame you. Plus half these replies are bitches that could have let your comment be left alone but since they bitches they gonna have to reply with their little remarks. I am gonna stick it out and go as long as possible with these reactions but I didn't have an ounce of care for this show when it originally came out. I hate some of these characters like korra, for example, but I will stick it out and try my best to see it all the way through. ATLA will always be the one and only true avatar show and none of this is canon in my eyes.

L
>>38399897

No cap... the continuations that never live up to the originals.

DevilMayCarter

Happy 3 Stacks of Patrons! Now on to LoK!!!

Cablemonkey

Fun fact: Aang named his son Tenzin. Aangs friend and original teacher’s name was Gyatso. And Tenzin Gyatso is the name of the current Dalai Lama..

Jack Stiles

They had such a good set up, great characters, love the changes to the world. But I just cannot stand Korra herself. I might like her if I watched season 3, but it wasn't out when I watched it and never felt like finishing it.

GeneralDisarray
>>38397159

Personally when i first started Kora the first season was good, but it just became too much after... The 2nd season, and all of the technology kinda mehed it.

Ja

The main character is literally unlikable and they're going to fuck with the lore of the first series. Gonna pass, but I hope you guys can enjoy it.

Philly The Kid
>>38404009

You're probably right about possibly liking Korra after watching season 3. Without spoiling (not that you'd care I'd assume) the main villian in season 3 literally breaks and humbles her by the end of the season. She basically spends most of season 4 trying to get over the trauma of what happened in season 3 and get her "mojo" back.

Samue Gause

Hello I am having a problem watching the video it says it can't be played here because of privacy settings.

saintvenom
>>38411054

It may be the browser security settings or an extension. I was using Brave and had to switch to Firefox because I received that message.

Collin

man, lets do this. I love LoK almost as much as ATLA. It has its flaws, but some of the most memorable moments as well. Is it a masterpiece, no, definetly not - buts its a hell of a good show!

SalemSan

As an ATLA fanatic I loved Korra. No, it's not as good, especially considering the nostalgia I have attached to ATLA but still a really good show! Most of the things that annoyed me were due to Nickelodeon fucking them over. As mentioned above they were only cleared for one season initially, then after season two, they were told about a third and fourth season, only for the last season to be put online. They also cut the budget in the second season and instead of firing people, the writers decided to work around it and save all the action for the last half of the season, which in my opinion is the best part of the show, after season 3 of course. Also, Sheera is right! She is the complete opposite and it is important to remember that.

sim

i enjoy korra much more then aang as an mc

Liam D

If your upset about Ikki (the little girl who interuppted) when this episode had originally aired, the comics hadn’t been made yet. So legit even a bigger troll job lmao

sim
>>38458363

Because aang is nearly unbearable the entire series.

klah
>>38458363

I actually agree, but asami/mako/bolin as main supporting cast overall are very lackluster.

Madison Hagan

I'm so glad you like it so far. This show is amazing and the animation and story is great! You'll love it!

Jjj.

fun fact, in the comics, when ever aang and katara would kiss, sokka would say they gave him the "oogies". Tenzin grew up hearing sokka saying "oogi" when ever aang and katara were nice to each other... so basically, he named his sky bison after their parent´s love. "oogi"

Kadeem Lewis
>>38408442

the do mess with the lore and make certain things feel weaker(storytelling wise).

Kamui

When I was a kid I hated Korra but now that I'm grown up I appreciate this series more and more. I also grown to love the amazing story writing. Avatar Korra is definitely a good series!

Jay
>>38458363

I agree 1000% . She’s actually strong too, aang got a whole lotta plot armor and just complained about wanting to be stronger but never wanting to train fr

Narutofreak94

You guys are in for another treat in a completely different form.

rekted

For me I could never get into TLOK when I first caught it airing. Never made it past season 1. But I was younger then and I compared it way too much. Recently gave it another go during quarantine, and BOY I loved it! TLOK is different from ATLA, sure there are some flaws but I think it also has its strengths, particularly how the conflicts are way more complex and closer to the times we live in now. Just think the supporting cast was a little lacklustre. But still an amazing show, especially what they did with animation... some of the sequences are FIRE. Hope you really enjoy it!

Senjioh

Ok Tenzin is laying so much pipe right now, 3 kids the 4th on the way damn.

sofst

I personlly dont like korra but IK wanted your reaction to the aang squad legacy and kids !

Ian

Season 3 just wait

Saber0

JK Simmons is perfectly cast. Tenzin always has that edge of frustration cracking through his Zen.

Alexa

yes! I'm so glad you guys enjoyed the first episode

Nikolai Cannady

Don't forget that AOT came out after this not before!

BrooksHOF TV

Its good animation but aang and last airbender is on another level its legendary 🐐

SeaWicketts
>>40432439

The manga came out two years before Korra but that doesn’t make the metal bending techniques any less cooler and original.

Tenzin Dikyikhangsar

Just binged your reactions to atla and I just figured I'd check out if you were gonna do lok and y'all are already 2 seasons in! cant wait to watch them alllllll. imo I think Korra gets a lot of smack because she's a girl and so unlike aang (and lowkey people dont like it when you hold up a mirror to the audience lol) so I love that you guys said you're not gonna compare it because these 2 shows have SO many great messages but theyre very different. -also truly appreciate the full reactions here its so great and I think like many others, its fun to watch you guys watch a show that someone else holds dear lol! I highly recommend rewatching both again, honestly throughout life, you'll catch new details every time, its not a kids show! also last thing I swear, tenzin is a VERYYYYY common name because the current Dalai Lama is named tenzin gyatso so if you ever meet a youngish Tibetan person theyre likely named tenzin in honor of him (its gender neutral)...I used to get made fun of my name at white girl horse camp LOL they thought they had originality and called me tarzan....TURN TABLES.... cant wait for you guys to finish this series!

Raymond Olivas

LMAO how hes SO positive thats katara in the intro like how he knew there was no earth king. Lol

frederik wøhliche
>>40897684

i never understood this whole korra is a girl thing some like to talk about i mean really ? kyoshi was a girl avatar too right ? and that air nomad one too so why is that a problem here ? (never said you meant that or anything dont worry)

CRuEL_WOrlD

Korra is probs my fav avatar after kyoshi of course😤

Gangsta Penguin

Not sure if this is mentioned, but the advancement in technology makes perfect sense. In ATLA, the Fire Nation was the most technologically advanced nation, using Ironclad warships. These warships were first mass-produced and used in the Civil War or the mid-1860s. By these rules, ATLA = 1860 technological possibilities, though certain things were not produced (telegraph) because of things like messenger hawks. 70 years after 1860 is 1930, and Republic City looks like NYC in the '30s

CRuEL_WOrlD
>>38404009

I can kinda see where u r coming from...like how u couldn’t stand korra I couldn’t stand aang the entirety of ATLA. If it wasn’t for my boy Sokka i dnt think I would have even passed the first 3 eps.

Fooni

Sheera is so perceptive

Isaac

I thought it was katara when I first watched to but in the intro it was Korra

danny

i watched someone elses reaction of this and they thought that the bison was oppa and i just closed my tab and said yall dumb

JhakeemScott
>>49264409

I've seen u comment the same thing on every avatar the last airbender episode lol

Ryn

ngl I was so disappointed in LoK. It's a dumpsterfire of unnecessary stupidity and BS politics. I hate politics. Of course this is only my opinion, do with it what you will, but the only redeeming quality of the show, is the deep dive into this universe's history and lore, seeing some familiar faces again, and finding how Aang fared after the epic victory over the Fire nation. Also, some of the invented bending and inventions are interesting. The only reason I'm even watching it again is to see how you guys like it, because you three always on-point with the references from other shows, and sometimes you point out things I've missed, even in my favorite shows. To be fair, I am hoping that somehow you'll convince me to like LoK, but it's gonna take a lot of doing get me on board with it. Like the amount of doing that made us like Zuko enough to accept him as part of team avatar, after his betrayal under Ba Sing Se.

Evan Andrews
>>45566647

Lol I know this is 10 months later but the Fire nation also had tanks which came out during WWI so by that logic this takes place in the 1980's (In fact, their tanks are more advanced in some ways than our own best).

Devon Joseph

I've very upset enjoying Ep1 of Korra cause I just know at some point I'm gonna hate her character again. I just don't know when.

Alellion
>>40897684

Saying the problem with Korra is that she's a girl instead of a boy is a pretty massive strawman, lol. Yes there are sexists in the world, but in large part the complaints about this show are due to the writing and some of the contrivances. However, I do think a lot of those people are holding ATLA up on a pedestal and unfairly degrade Korra for some feeling of 'defending' ATLA.

Yanpo

Been holding back watching this reaction cause it always hurts when people crap on Korra despite her achieving far more than most Avatars in bringing balance to the world and beyond. All this despite all the handicaps borne mostly from being imprisoned in and around a temple in the middle of nowhere, isolated from both the physical and spiritual worlds. Also despite how all her villains were so intense they would have clapped Fire Lord Ozai even during Sozen's comet. Most of the damage to her reputation, as well as the whole show's reputation, comes from season 2, and Season's 3 and 4 just didn't do enough to fix it in the eyes of many viewers. I still say that despite her attitude in season's 1 and 2, her instincts were always right. She was just abrasive and rude in how she handled people contradicting her. Especially people that care about her. Once again though, I attribute that to being imprisoned most of her life by the White Lotus. That alone would've made her very suspicious towards any authority figure tied to the White Lotus directly and indirectly including her parents for allowing it.

rickie woodson

if only i had found you guys when you first watched it oh well WEEKEND MARATHON TIME!

Cream_That_Corn
>>69388418

gonna necro this comment just to say that none of these villains would clap Ozai during the comet. maybe pre-comet. but during the comet he was one of the strongest regular benders in history. I should clarify that I enjoy the show just wanted to point out that one thing.

Phroug
>>69388418

Unless you include blood bending, I don't think a single character in Korra other than the Avatar herself could do jack shit against Ozai during the comet. No one throughout the whole show really showed any bending of that scale. As much as I hate to say it, Ozai was probably the best on screen fire bender from both shows

Don Keedick

Watch E;R's 4 part video essay on TLOK.

John Cedar
>>75630721

yeah, it's not enough to not like something yourself, we must also make sure everyone else in the world hates it too, lmao

Don Keedick
>>75630721

Hey, I'm just sayin, the dude raises good points. His breakdown of the series is pretty entertaining. Aside from that I like the animation of Korra. That's a positive.

rickie woodson
>>42780578

Whats funny to me is the "oh ang's dead" uhm.....thats how reincarnation works. even if you didnt know it before avatar you definitely know it afterwards. for there to be a korra, ang would have to die and be reborn as her.......

EclecticSkeptic
>>75630721

It’s tragic because the guy sounds smart, so you would think that he would channel that intelligence into more productive things. But I guess the status quo for young people is to spend time wasting time. Now I’m not saying he should strive to be a revolutionary, but if you’re not being good FOR something noble, then what good are you?
