Considering I watched ATLA as it aired and was beyond hyped at a continuation of that world when Korra was revealed years later only to find that the writing and characters were absolutely subpar in comparison. The only decent character is Tenzin. Not exactly "bandwagon hate". Everyone is entitled to their own opinion.

it briefly ends before going back to that honemoon phase for the rest of the series imo, lol. (aka, Season 2 being the worst season of the 4, but the show quickly getting good again in Season 3, and continuing to be good in Season 4)

I also watched ATLA as it aired and Korra definitely gets too much hate. You can critique it and say it doesn't flesh out its protagonists enough or that you don't like the characterisation but Korra also does some things better than ATLA and flesh out the villains and bring up complexities that aren't present in ATLA since it was aimed at a younger demographic. Overall, it isn't as good as ATLA but it definitely doesn't deserve the hate it gets.
