Juu

Damn you're getting them up early today!

Waka Flocha Flame

Killua’s character development in HxH is such a pleasure to watch. Togashi really put in work on him.

Shaw

99% of all experiments fail. That's a fact.

Shaw

They're all so fucking obsessed with the king that their loyalty is backfiring.

jesse almonte

okay but like, palm can still kinda get it

SmilePlease

I fucking love what Togashi did with Palm. Her transformation into a Chimera Ant actually managed to make her more stable overall. This shows that even the fucked up process of turning her like that actually had a positive effect on her.

Bro you don’t know how bad I needed these uploads, had a super shitty dirty day and I’m blessed to sit down relax and watch these, thank you so much for your hard work

Palm is based on a character in JoJo's Part 4 that you and Sheera should recognize straight away when you guys hit that episode fairly early on. Same with Knuckle who's very similar to another JoJo Part 4 character (funny because they have the same VA as well).

godUsoland

Palm turned into Bayonetta.

I also questioned how Palm was able to reconnect her emotions even though Pitou & Pouf physically did surgery on her brain. Maybe it had to do with keeping her memories or they just sealed it off? Or maybe it's just one of those don't think too much about it and just accept it kind of thing...

Damiester

Separating memories from emotions "physically" is easier said than done. Our brains work with synapses and bioelectricity, linking multiple parts together. Even the earlier theories about how certain parts of the brain control specific functions are getting debunked steadily. Palm regaining her emotional responses is not really that far off from reality.

Damiester

I never hated Palm though. Her character was never as bad as some reactors claimed lol. Roshi here appreciating her all this time is great for me personally lol.

Damiester

Knuckle's based on Kuwabara (1990), which is a character that Togashi himself made earlier than Jojo Part 4 (1992).

Tulio

My dude, the ants were literal balls of human meat that were eaten by the queen... and than became quimeras and still retained their quirks and personalities... I don't even think it is that complicated, they already established that memories are "impossible" to be completely removed, and Kilua appealing to her was like a jump start, maybe like when Meleoron said he saw Peggy murdered by the King and didn't knew who he was at the time, and after that he started to remember about their life and human past together.

BubbleTea

Well that's kind of a whole different scenario. Being turned to human meat balls and still coming back with memories is explained at the end of the arc. Palm was still human and never fed to the queen to be 'reincarnated'. What Damiester said makes sense, and I agree with you about Killua being the kick start to getting her emotions back.

I kinda worded it weird when talked about Knuckle I didn't mean to say Knuckle was entirely based on him though I said he was similar. The pompadour is clearly Kuwabara, Both characters are pretty similar since they're both street punks who rely on their emotions I just wanted to make connection since they're hopping into Part 4. Knuckle is definitely the mix of those two and probably Yususke as well.

HowardisBoss

Nah Togashi was still writing YuYu when JoJo's Part 4 was out in the 90's. Those series were out at the same time. Palm and Knuckle came way after.

Knuckle's hair

Check chapter 294 you’ll see a panel that the anime didn’t adapt , it talks about this topic

Theo Traumato

Palm is definitely inspired by said JoJo character who was one of the earliest example of Yandere trope. They even have a hair thing going on ;)
