Juu

Yo thanks for listening and going to 126. Next week if you are down you should do 5 again because 130 and 131 go together. Appreciate the fire content as always my man.

Nicholas Cheatham

I'd say do 3 next week so you dont keep screwing with patreon we got 5 this week we can deal with 3 next week so you can keep giving us great content in the long run

Belt Cedd

If "We Eat Those!" was a chimera ant.

Maurice

If you you do more than 3, make sure to do 130 and 131 together

Arlind Sejdijaj

Now I’m just waiting for episode 130-131 🤯 this show is so fucking sick

Jake Disarufino

This fight is so sad and amazing to me one of my favorites... like theoretically mereum pre meeting komugi couldn’t have handled neteros speed and he could just done one point of damage forever until mereum died... but the saddest part is this whole fight was just to see if netero was strong enough he had the checkmate the whole time he just wanted to believe in his full strength and to top it off the saddest line arguably in the show comes from netero a man who spent his whole life praying and worshipping saying if there’s a hell I’ll see you there because that’s the danger if humans even the most religious man in the show decided from the start to become a demon to win... in a way the chimera ants are less monstrous than humans perfect love that is episode thanks for blessing us Roshi 🙏🏽❤️

Shaw

Have you ever listened to the ending song? You should. It's beautiful.

Shaw

HxH is the FIRST anime I ever watched and the Best anime I've ever watched.

Shaw

You HAVE to watch episodes 130 and 131 together! Even if you have to limit yourself to three episodes next week. Great reactions!!

Tyler Robertson

jesse almonte

Alex

Honestly mate you are the single best reactor in so many ways. But especially with the consistency and amount of uploads.

Meruem absolutely could've handled Netero's speed. From the very start, Netero knew he couldn't beat Meruem in an honest fight. Meruem is literally the strongest being that's ever walked the Earth in the HxH universe.

Dylan

The way Madhouse did this show is unmatched with any other adaptation in my opinion. No other show has made me hold my breath while soaking everything in like HxH. And the commentary on how even though Netero was one of the top Hunters in the world and he still had to resort to a bomb, the contrast between human and ant, togashi is the goat

Gevin Tipsword

one thought to share with you that our good old man here said himself that he was no longer the strongest hunter for many years. I would like to think that there are hunters out there who's nen abilities could match the king! In a battle of nen the amount you have is a factor but how you use it is what matters most! btw love the reaction

Photon

Man your reactions are the best. It always feels so genuine. Glad to see how much you enjoyed this episode and can't wait to see your reaction to the upcoming ones.

JD

Definitely agree, best fight of all time for me. And no other story or medium, no book or film or TV show has had a similar affect on me. You can't get the same effect anywhere else. Anime is essential to me, as someone who cares deeply about story and the emotions it can provoke, and the new ways of thinking it opens up to you. I love how the whole time Netero was like "this fucking newborn INSECT brat thinks he knows everything" and finally finished up with the proof that his reaction to Meruem wasn't lack of respect but REALITY - Meruem understood nothing about humanity's potential. He built a kindom for himself in a poor dictatorship, and having killed a bunch of peasants and fools thought that was all humanity could do. SIKE, humanity is more nefarious than you could possible imagine Meruem. There's a bomb in my chest that humans invented to use ON EACH OTHER. You don't know what psychos you're fucking with here. Fucked up, morally grey, philosophical, operatic, poetic, mind blowing, emotional, thought-provoking, awesome. I love everything about this fight.

Eirei_Emiya

"If you cant beat him.....bomb him." - Abridged Goku

JunpeiFES .

Uhhhhhhhh weee!! Thanks roshi sama! That was splendid! Marvelous! Top notch! And not need to rush man, if you can do 5 next week, great. But we are happy to wait :) *break dances for no reason*

Ashe

Is tower of god also coming up

gaelthras

Thank you for doing 5 episodes in a raw, that's amazing ! Now you see why most people who've seen it praise Hunter X Hunter that much, the writing and artistic direction is simply S-Tier. A few things about the episode , Netero was kind of "Selfish" because even though he had the bomb all along he still tried to fight Meruem and still convinced him to subdue him without killing him. Also , for what you said about Netero being the strongest , it's not true ( and that's not a spoiler) , remember back in NGL , when he was talking with Knov and Morel, he said that he was no longer the strongest Hunter because of this age (so just try to picture Prime Netero, which you can have a peak at if you do watch the Hunter x Hunter Movie). Finally , when Netero said "You understand nothing about humananity's potential for evolution" , the subtitles were kind of unaccurate. What he really said was more like " you understand nothing about Humanity's potential for Evil" refering to how mankind created something as horrible as nuclear weapons. Amazing Reaction and you were on top as usual! On a side note , i don't know if you know it , but 130 and 131 must be watched together. The same for 134 and 135. Wether you watch them by doing 3 episodes or 5 is up to you and i'll be okay either way ( and i think most people will too) Keep up the good work !

Avonti 2

Bro the Finger at around 14:20 Netero is a god forever!!!!

Eke Nnanna

Netro wasn't actually the strongest hunter at this point in time. He did say it had been decades since he was the strongest nen user. In his prime he was the on the kings power leve, if not stronger.

UnterhosenKoralle
>>38821111

i think you've got it wrong. It's only because of Komugi that Netero, or for that matter, anyone is alive right now. If Meruem wouldn't have learned that life is precious, the weak is supposed to be protected and that he can't just casually go killing life just because he is the king, then he really could've one shotted Netero anytime he wanted to, before he was able to self-destruct and activate the bomb. The line in this episode says that 'if your heart stops, this will activate', but i'm pretty sure Netero is the one who has to willingly activate it, because he is not the type of person to put other people in danger like that (meaning everyone precious to him would die as well if he would die someday, because of the nuke)

Jake Disarufino
>>38821111

I said theoretically because I think it’s an interesting thought to have... I’d argue that it’s never shown that mereum can surpass neteros speed it is directly said that after he’s played with komugi he’s learned to use tactics to his advantage which fits with hxh theme of just simply power isn’t the way to victory everything matters in a battle not just your strength, I am fully aware the mereum is the strongest being in the show and while he gets faster it’s explicitly stated that neteros speed far surpasses his and that he deals with that speed by the application of tactics... and the heart stopping is the fail safe of the bomb was designed to protect against a one shot I agree that netero wouldn’t have activated the bomb willing around people if he had for some reason let his guard down, which wouldn’t have happened without komugi getting hurt, and mereum one shotted him the bin would’ve gone off ie mereum realizing it was a checkmate from the start... neteros didn’t want to use the bomb he wanted to believe his ultimate power was enough but he was smart enough to implant a failsafe... but again what happened happened I just think the overwhelming speed vs incredible power debate is interesting

HowardisBoss

This is my second favorite fight in HxH and definitely my favorite fight in the anime, Netero is too gangsta man.

SlyMorris

If u do the next 3 and then the next 3 after that, that works really well

Clarista
>>38821111

That's an odd interpretation o_0. If he was able to get the bomb implanted within him, one could assume that it's also possible to remove it as well. He wouldn't have to worry about putting people's lives at risk, he could just go back to those doctors and get it removed/deactivated.

Jake Disarufino
>>38821111

I agree he could’ve had it removed but not during the battle if mereum had liked him in the throne room the bomb would’ve gone off

Anonymous

technically netero in his prime was the strongest hunter which was 50 years ago now during his fight with mureum he was in the top 5 range.

Kaz Z.

I love how supportive the Roshi-nation is. Other patrons from other reactors i subscribe/subscribed to were just awful. Demanded and whined so much about content. Goes to show what a community looks like when the creator is generous with content.

HowardisBoss

Netero has the most badass theme in this entire show

Joel Braaten

GOAT anime fight. Remember when that clown Hisoka wanted to fight Netero in the hunter exam? lmao.

HowardisBoss

Just to let you know Netero was only the strongest nen user in his prime. There are at least 5 other nen users stronger then him, with Ging being one of them. I think they said it back in Greed Island.

BubbleTea

Thanks Roshi for listening to patrons and posting 125 & 126 together. I used to be a mid tier patron for another reaction channel and they didn't really give a shit about what their patrons suggested. Glad i got out and can support people that give great content.

Carlos

Netero is fucking disgusting. A true monster.

Damiester
>>38832332

We don't know how strong Netero actually was lol. Even in the manga, there was no clear cut indication of his prime power level, so you can't say he was stronger than Meruem. You can make educated guesses about what double of his current power would be (Netero claimed to be less than half of what he was). I'd say Meruem's still got the edge.

Damiester
>>38827029

Netero kinda admitted that Meruem had a point though lol. He's just experienced to understand that the current Meruem is too young to actually be a good ruler. Nevertheless, he's still far more capable than the current upper echelon that Netero was hired by.

Damiester

The way Meruem just gracefully sits back down the exact same way he had before is euphoric.

Eke Nnanna
>>38832332

I was meant to include "most likely" in my statement. Since it's not clear how strong he was. My guess would be that they would have been equal.

Shawn Nguyen

welp, if you can't beat em, nuke em.

Julius
>>38828837

I really like that you write "kind of" since many people think it's just an error and should say malice but when you look a the original scans the way Togashi wrote the kanjis they're supposed the create a double meaning of the word (as in it says both evolution and malice) linking evolution and malice, which makes sense when you consider that to be the apex predator you have to be the best at killing all the other rival species as well as your prey. On a related note ants(irl) are the only other species besides humans who will take slaves and have farms.

K-RayTV

I love this community first off just wanted to say that and secondly this is why once I watched this anime it jumped to my #1 spot. The storytelling, the characters, the animation are all SSS Tier. To see 2 monsters studying, fighting, and enjoying themselves in a match so beautifully was amazing! I can't wait for you to see what happens next. Also I wonder how a young Netero would have faired again the King....

Kaz Z.

ALSO ROSHI, remember in the Hunter test when Netero was playing with Killua and Gon? Gave them a handicap by not using one of his arms or legs. He lost the same arm and leg against the king.

goldenratiolvl

Let's support Roshi, he'll support us with content and he'll look into our merce if he has the time ! (CHEK MARK)

>>38841972

I agree with the 1st part, but you should check the second part. I think Netero said "there are only 5 Nen users like Ging" but didn't say if they're the strongest 5. Ging certainly has insane control over his Nen, though.

HowardisBoss
>>38841972

I ended up going back to check after I wrote the comment a couple of days ago, in Episode 63 Bisky tells Gon that Netero said that Ging is among the top five nen users. In the scene right after she beats up the scissors dude.

Kevin

This episode was significant in more ways than one. The true meaning behind this episode was that even if super human abilities came to exist or alien species far beyond our imagination came to invade... the power of human ingenuity and science can overcome all with time....

Kevin

Humanity as a species, is far more terrifying than ants. If given enough time and technology, it's likely we will conquer the galaxy and beyond eventually. What Netero meant by he's not alone is that he also has the backing of his entire species with him. Nuclear bombs are the culmination of humanity's ability and it's far beyond what a mere ant can comprehend.

godUsoland

Netero's last words actual have a double meaning if you read it in Japanese: The line is often translated as: "Do not underestimate humanity's infinite potential for evolution!". But it is also translated as: "Do not underestimate humanity's infinite potential for malice!". Humans are cruel, and capable of such monstrous acts that the Ants couldn't hope to match.

kurumi Tokisaki

this has always been one of the top anime fights for me. epic episode.

Stuart Hanmore
>>38841972

But of course as Morel said when Killua first met him, strength does not equal victory. Ging might be among the top 5 nen users, but that does not mean he is one of the 5 strongest

HowardisBoss
>>38841972

I couldn't imagine it being anything but a strength feat to be acknowledged by a martial artist who spent his decades as leader of the hunter association specifically to craft strong people (if you've read the manga past the anime you'll understand what I mean). I understand what you mean by what morel says, for example look at Gon vs Genthru, another example would be how Pitou couldn't do anything to Netero despite being declared stronger (Netero seemingly outspeeds everyone in the verse regardless of how strong they may be). But I'd imagine being a top 5 nen user suggests that your outright skill, intelligence, combat ability and hatsu outdoes everyone else who doesn't fall in that list.

Anciient

Netaro flippin the bird.

Reign

cant win? drop the nukes.

Astor Lefflinker

As much as I love Meruem's character growth, he really still had to go. Even though he's seeking compromise with the humans, the best compromise he had to offer was basically The Promised Neverland.

Astor Lefflinker
>>38821332

I lowkey feel bad for you that it's the first anime that you've watched, because HxH will ruin a lot of anime for you. It did for me, some animes that are hyped these days, I can't get on with specially those which I feel only revolves around the one MC.

Shawn Oxley

This ep is so goated imo I literally wanted both sides to win, Meruems development is something else
