Not so sure about that, pretty sure she was referring to meruem before his power up. Either way, if it was the king his was really after he would’ve just aged more to the point he was easy claps.

Jerkwater

The fact that Pitou is a puppeteer and becomes a puppet is chef's kiss Togashi!

Alexander S

I never get tired of Roshi's reaction to Gon's adult form the first time lmao his eyes were popping out with some looney toons energy

Xavier P

HE DROPPED IT!!!!!!

Ace Spiegel

GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOONNNNNNNNNNNNNN!!!!!!!

Hector

LETS GOOO!!

sandbun

Thank you so much for two straight weeks of doing 5 episodes! Awesome, can't wait to watch later.

Stega

Bro you're seriously the best reaction channel I've ever watched. Thanks for dropping so much content.

Kai Lee

If you gotta wait a day or so before ToG as to not piss off Vimeo please do so. Don't need my favourite entertainer risking it.

Waka Flocha Flame

Oh, if only Hisoka had been there to witness Gon’s transformation......

AnEnthusiasticKoala

Holy Shit the mad man actually did it, what a god tier episode and god tier reaction!

yooin

ACTUAL GOAT!

Alex

It never fails, no matter how many times, I always shed a tear when watching 130 and this episode.

Jake Disarufino

Love this episode so much gon as strong as pre “death” mereum the music VA everything is amazing even the little details of you never hear killuas footprints while he’s running but he was so worried for gon when nen after death happens that you hear them... thank you roshi made my day 👌🏽

Jeremy Palencia

This is definitely is my top 5 episodes of all time! This and some other ones from JoJos and Attack On Titan that you have not gotten up to yet.

jesse almonte

if we do another week of 5 we finish the ant arc, and then 3 weeks of 4 for the next arc. we only got a month left of hxh...

Maurice

All will be explained soon Roshi.

turnipkun

Gon's transformation is a restriction and covenant. The same thing Kurapika had to gain power over the Phantom Troupe. In Gon's case, the exchange for all this power was years off his life and to never be able to use Nen again. And Pitou attacking Gon despite being dead is that whole thing about Nen being more powerful after death they alluded to before in the show.

Kurumi

Yea its essentially a more extreme version of what Ichigo did

Hisaga

Man I've been waiting forevaaaaa to see the reaction to this episode and oh boyo was it worth it

Zehn

Gon didn’t shave off years of his life, he used his whole damn life in exchange of the power. This is why he says he doesn’t care if this is the end. He’s the ride or die kinda homie

Hazeem

Rossi ; what just happened? Everybody: yes

Jaime Ruiz

SHWIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Gill

Now I am so ready for the end of this arc

Jigga Man

I feel like the King after the explosion.. this man is just feeding us today 😢😢

Anonymous

Pitou could have stopped her fall using Doctor Blythe like when Netero hit her and anchored herself midair instead of getting delivered into a stationary Rock Paper Scissors. Yes, the kick could have destroyed her liver and stopped all circulation to her tail, but her puppet master ability can still control her limbs and Doctor Blythe is activated via her mind.

JayPack

i thought you deadass trolled us by putting out those four episodes until i saw this one like a hakf hour later

JayPack

we;ve been waiting for you to see this haha

Anonymous

When Pitou said Gon's power is now equal to that of the King at 7:37, I'm almost certain it's just the subtitles writer fucking with us. I heard "Koitsu no kiba ou ne" which means "This guy's fangs, the king-". I don't understand the rest, but I think she's just saying Gon's fangs could seriously threaten the King's throat if left unchecked. tl;dr Gon might not actually be equal to the King if trained to his prime. Which makes sense, considering the King's genetic origins. But Gon could have been Netero level.

Scott Brown

He basically made a Nen contract + condition where the contract was to be able to use all of the power he would ever have and the condition was that he could only use it temporarily to destroy Pitou.

Joel Braaten

Bro. I have been waiting for this episode since you started this show! I still get goosebumps, it's unreal! When the black and white scene happened, I got little teary-eyed, and I have already seen/read it a bunch of times before this and my emotions are still strong lol. Also, Gon's transformation literally showed how busted Nen restrictions and vows really are, but only if what you have and are willing to exchange in return. He forcefully aged himself to his prime! but in return, he had to give up "everything"...

MrNoor114

Another fact about this episode to get a tear in your eye, at 17:15 it was the first time in the show where you can hear killua's footsteps because there was nothing else on his mind, but to save his friend.

JD

The only way I can describe what the fuck that black aura is, is a deeply negative state of mind and heart.

Shaw

The real catalyst here is Gon's Talent and Potential which he used as collateral for his future power. Not just ANYBODY can exchange their life and potential for power equal to The King, Meruem. That would be a ridiculous flaw in any power system. A Fairy Tail level flaw. "Muh Anger! Huzzah! I will now defeat u!"

JD

Keep in mind Pitou saying Gon's power was now equal to the king is based off of pre-Rose king, the version that hadn't absorbed the majority of Pouf and Pitou's nen. The show will give you explanations don't worry. My pet peeve is when reactors think Gon had a fly's chance in hell against Pitou before this moment.

YaBoyRoshi
>>39194854

I was wondering if those footsteps were just due to Godspeed but then they disappeared again

Belt Cedd

When I was younger and I saw this scene, all I could think about was how epic Gon was. Now seeing this and understanding what he did in order to get this power...it only makes my heart break.

Shaw

Resolve X Vow. A Nen Contract.

JD
>>39189343

Pretty premature, the show reveals this later so why are you revealing it now?

Shaw

You need to watch Aleczander's video on Gon after u finish watching this show

Zeta

Gon got the legendary pokemon music

JD
>>39197346

Our reaction, if we really care about Gon, should be Killua's reaction. Same with his attitude before, when Gon upset and stressed out Killua by talking to him that way. If Gon was our son, we'd be deeply troubled instead of yooo Gon's a BEAST! But that comes with reflection most of the time.

Devin B

When Gon said he would use everything he meant everything. Whatever future he could've had, however much time he had on earth, everything that he could've had just to get rid of Pitou.

turnipkun
>>39189343

I haven't said anything here that hasn't been said or alluded to on this ep or prior. Most people got the idea in this ep and I'm sure Roshi at the very least has to a degree. Me reinforcing it here is pretty harmless going forward anyways.

Shaw

The stronger you resolve the stronger your Nen. That's how Kurapika was able to kill Uvogin despite Uvogin being far stronger than him.

Sam

Man.....Killua's scream hits me every fricking time...Great reaction, Roshi, and thanks for dropping all these vids today. Much appreciated!

Devin B
>>39193182

Netero's attack didn't really do much against Pitou so she had time to activate Doctor Blythe but you can see how much damage that kick did to her so she didn't have time to think about that option before it was too late

Kevin

I've watched a lot of reactions to HxH, and I'm surprised you of all people, didn't catch how Pitou was able to fight, considering you were one of very few, if only person to focus in on what Phinks said at the end of the York New City ark, but this episode is so insane, I could see it slipping past you. As always, top tier reaction!

Kevin

I've watched a lot of reactions to HxH, and I'm surprised you of all people, didn't catch how Pitou was able to fight at the end, considering you were one of very few, if only, person to focus in on what Phinks said at the end of the York New City ark, but this episode is so insane, I could see it slipping past you. Her dedication to protect the King, from any possible danger from Gon, was so strong, that even after death her body was still fighting, with even stronger nen. As always, top tier reaction!

Alissa

Adult Gon is the extreme version of a Nen condition to make yourself stronger, kind of like Kurapika with his chains. He basically said "give me all the men I'll ever have, I'll give my life for it". Him being aged up was kind ofan image of what he could've grown up to be had he not sacrificed himself in that moment.

Shaw

Slight Spoiler: Gon Has not recovered his Nen in the manga and it is believed he never will.

Shaw
>>39189343

@JD He's literally just saying everything that's already been said.

Shaw
>>39194052

No dumbass. He's literally equal in power to the King

JD
>>39198666

How is this a "slight" spoiler??? The fuck???

Clarista
>>39198666

Nah, that's a straight up spoiler so hopefully he immediately stops reading comments as soon as the word spoiler comes up even if it's preceded by the word "slight". What if he plans on reading the manga after finishing the anime? Why not let him find out on his own? Absolute clownery lol

Isaiah Ramos

Roshi, on episode 135 next week don't forget to watch the end credits and the scene after that. It's very important.

Candice Blair
>>39198666

Maybe you should delete it? Not everyone has read the manga like me, so I didn't know that at all. Thanks.

JG
>>39198666

ppl like you are the reason he cant even read his patreon comments >.> well done

Viela Guay

Whole episode had Roshi feeling like Lupa

Clarista

A little bit of power scaling for Gon so you can get an idea of how ridiculous his Adult form is: Power: Just one regular kick from Gon, no charge up or Ko necessary, was enough to turn Pitou into a helpless ragdoll and send her sky high. Yet when Mereum tried to decapitate Pitou (he admitted he was trying to kill her and even complimented her durability), she hardly budged an inch and only had a mark on her cheek + some blood down her lip. Speed: During the invasion, Pitou was able to (just barely) perceive/track Netero's praying hand motion; which Mereum admitted himself during ep 126 that it FAR surpasses his own speed. Yet here in episode 131, Pitou charges at Gon and he dodges + leaves the room without her even realizing at first that he did that. Pitou had full view of the exit to the room as she was charging at him, yet his speed was so great that it took her a full second to realize where he'd gone. So when Pitou said "His power is now equal to the King" I'd actually say she was underestimating Gon in that moment. At least when comparing him to Pre-Royal Guard Bukkake Mereum. Post-Royal Guard Bukkake Mereum is a different story lol

Maniez Cyril

i never understand why people are always so confused about the situation, when she says that he's ready to never use nen again. Restriction and covenant was explained multiple times and it's kinda obvious that hunter hunter doesn't have random power ups. Also the fact that so many people, before even thinking about restriction and covenant or stuff like that are like "gon is gonna rock pitou" is bull, it proves that so many anime just randomly give power ups for no reasons. Being mad doesn't make you a god. Gon is trash compared to Pitou without his adult form.

Carlos

Gon turned into a whole ass JoJo's character. These past two episodes are always so devastating to watch. Seeing Gon just spiral like that. Once again huge props to Megumi Han for absolutely destroying those scenes with her god-tier voice work.

Bona Fide
>>39198666

u aint shit for this. a lot of us haven't read the manga either. big spoiler like why.

Barre Bonds

This is definitely in my top 5 anime eps of all time. What clinches it is when Gon grabs his severed arm and yells while impaling Pitou to the ground. Shit is too hype

MoJo
>>39198666

Can you imagine spending money just to post spoilers? What a fucking clown 🤦‍♂️

Doug

One of the best anime episodes of any series ever. period.

MrNoor114
>>39194854

Yea there was a scene where killua is full sprinting through the forest to get to gon and you can't hear nothing. @ 14:06 you can hear the leaves as he going through, but then it was quiet.

Bona Fide

this is my anime. the greatest. your questions will be answered soon

MrNoor114

gon powered up soo much that he looked like a titian and mob at the same time.

Wut Suthirachartkul

Rishi, make sure to watch after credits rolled on 135. And I suggest you follow up with 136 after so it’s gonna be another 5 episodes next week too as 135-136 ties together nicely

Dev

It's probably explained in later episodes (can't remember), but the cool thing is that these things were either hinted at or talked about in Kurapika's arc.

HowardisBoss

When Killua runs to save Gon from the Post Mortem Nen Boosted Dead Pitou that's the only time we hear his footsteps. Keep in mind how fast godspeed is and how frantic Killua had to be to hear his footsteps and Pitou still outsped him.

HowardisBoss

We should be concluding the arc next set. There's still more to see for this great arc.

HowardisBoss
>>39201895

Yeah I get what you mean, we know it's a huge powerup with a trade off but saying he's ready to never use nen again is only what is gathered in Pitou's POV. Does the process shave years off of his life? Does it depend on how long he uses it? Does it kill him altogether? Or is it just like Ichigo with Mugetsu vs Aizen where it just makes Gon a normal boy again? If nen is lost can you get it back like how Uryuu got his Quincy powers back. Everyone knows Gon is gonna rock Pitou and the end result is satisfying. But we never saw anything of this sort since the only instance where we saw covenants that are powerful was with Kurapika (restrictions are used pretty often) and that was an outright applied ability and not just a flat boost like Gon's. The major confusion is usually about the tradeoff and in most shounens the powerups have a tradeoff just not to the same extreme (think Gear 4, Gear 2nd, Super Saiyan 3, pre-war Naruto, Mugetsu (well that one is fairly extreme))

Valhalla

We’ve been waiting for this episode since you started this anime 😂😂😂

Valhalla
>>39198666

This Nigga deadass spoiled the next arc 🤦🏽‍♂️😭 fucking clown

Damiester

Best part for me is Pitou's sense of sacrifice. While she was getting killed, she felt relieved that her liege was going to be "spared". It's sad how many reactors don't really care about the Royal Guards' loyalty. Since it is one of the most intense of emotions in this arc.

Fujishiro
>>39194854

Hey roshi! What gon basically did was a restriction and covenant, the same shit kurapika did. He traded all his talent and potential of decades of constant training for this powerup just to kill pitou alone and that was it. Also there was a mistranlation, Pitou didnt say that he was equal to the king, just that he would be a threat to him. I want to add that now the king has become even stronger than he was with eating pouf/youpi, so pitou was talking about meruem from before. Good reaction as always

Fujishiro
>>39201643

Meruem hit pitout with the tail swipe he used to kill the squadron leaders, he didnt know how strong she was and assumed she would die from the swap like the rest, she didnt and he commanded her. Dont compare a casual tail swipe to a full on punch with intent to kill. Meruem was dismembering netero and even then he was holding back as the goal was to make netero admit defeat, not kill him. She was not underestimating gon at all.

Clarista
>>39201643

I compared the casual tail swipe to a casual kick from Gon. And it's clear to see which one had more of an effect on Pitou. Mereum displayed the ability to see/sense people's aura (which is why he got angry at Pitou and swiped her because she assumed that he didn't know how to) so he must've had a general idea of how strong she was. And like I said, he admitted he was trying to kill her and he was impressed by how durable she is. Not sure why you're bringing up Mereum dismembering Netero, as if Gon wouldn't be able to do the same? Netero's attack from his hatsu (his strongest ability) that was supposed to send Pitou flying across the country did practically zero damage to Pitou. Yet a casual kick from Gon turned her into a rag doll. Adult Gon is clearly above Netero as well lol

BubbleTea

It's crazy to look back and see how post mortem nen was important. First explained by Phinks at the end of York New, but can be traced all the way back to Bourbon the snake charmer. Really hope Roshi does hxh manga reviews after finishing the anime... but then kinda don't want him to go through hiatus x hiatus

awesomeusername
>>39201895

Kurapika having powerful Nen chains is the same type of flat boost Gon got though. Kurapika's conditions were far more complex than Gon's, which was a very simple "I don't care if this is the end". Kurapika wants revenge on an entire organisation so it makes sense he isn't going to be that suicidal compared to Gon, who's sole focus was Pitou at this point. And when Gon was using his hand-less Jajanken, As for if it would kill him or not - Killua seems to imply that Gon repeatedly using his power would kill him as opposed to just losing his Nen.

Lawliet

I watched this episode like 8 times but damn it I cried again... MASTERPIECE.

SoreDakeNoKoto

In case it somehow hasn't been explained to death yet, Pitou basically guesses (correctly, we think) that Gon essentially traded his vital life energy for enormous amounts of aura, physical strength, speed, the works, basically whatever he thought would be enough to utterly crush Pitou. The word "vital" is important here cos I think this goes beyond just using your regular aura reserves, till you pass out as we've seen Gon do before. Here, you're reaching into the very shit that keeps you alive *plus* making you capable of using Nen in the first place. If you use enough of that shit, you either drastically reduce your Nen capacity or you lose the ability to muster any Nen at all. Past this point, you still keep using that shit, and the oil will eventually run out, and then there goes the flame that was your life. But then Gon don't care cos you can hear him say "I don't care if this is the end. I'll use everything." and Killua be like "This would've been the product of decades of training! Peak Gon effectively. What'll happen to you if you keep using this power?!" Cos he knows shit ain't free on these streets.

Lurkingposter
>>39217708

Bourbon could of been a nen user but he's also could of just been snake charmer whose snakes were following his last command.

Lurkingposter
>>39198666

I also consider this a slight spoiler because it's not explained in the Anime and it only adds additional context to Gon's sacrifice.

Ace Overton
>>39198666

You don't talk about shit that will be explained in the anime. At this point, nobody watching the anime would know. Why tf would you spoil anything for a REACTOR WHO MAKES A LIVING FROM WATCHING SHOWS AND REACTING TO IT! WTF was your point, to feel special because you know the story already? Dumbass

JunpeiFES .

I gotta say you did amazing, all this time we have been saying that you are not ready, but i guess you are..... roll the next five episodes or 4 lol

R3APER

When Pitou said that his power rose to that of the King's, understand that she doesnt know about him being blown up or feeding on Pouf and Youpi. The King is stronger now than when she last saw him. So Adult Gon was at the level Meruem was when he fought Netero but its unconfirmed if it matches his current strength after being revived by Pouf and Youpi. And the forlorn look in Gon's eye throughout this episode gets me everytime. Its shows how done he is emotionally.

BubbleTea
>>39217708

Idk looking back, highly doubt Bourbon was just a regular snake charmer. It seemed obvious he was a manipulator just like Ponzu. A lot of moments in hxh didn't actually show nen aura but it was being used.

SoreDakeNoKoto
>>39217708

Nice theory but unlikely, I think. Based on what Phinks said and what we've seen so far, the "Nen after death" thing isn't something you can whip out at any old death, you need pretty intense levels of emotion against the target; Kurapika-levels of hatred, Pitou-levels of resolve, etc. And I highly doubt Bourbon would've died so easily and quickly if he was a Nen user, especially from an attack (with bees) by Ponzu who was also *not* a Nen user.

Austin Yun

Man I liked Neferpitou :( Next cat I get is gonna be named after it.

Black Brad

Random thought. It’s kinda lucky that Netero blew himself up. Meruems power is whatever eats becomes his power. Imagine if the king would of ate Netero lmao Meruem with the 100-type. Lol more likely the king wouldn’t have ate Netero out of respect but that would of made Meruem crazy OP

Patricia

HxH, my favorite manga and anime for 15 years now. Togashi is a fantastic writer. This episode and 126 are just brilliant.

Patricia

Also have you seen how most HxH fights aren't actually fights?? they're executions.

Anonymous
>>39300679

Makes sense, since there's no real matchmaking system. There's probably a huge power or skill difference in most fights.

Anonymous
>>39273649

Random thought. How much of that 100-type Buddha is skill based? That is, how much of Netero's speed would Meruem inherit? Meruem used a lot of bouncing to gain speed and angle. It's possible Meruem can't execute the prayer as quickly or (at first) can't still his heart enough to start a prayer. That said, the weakness of the 100-type Buddha is that the user is exposed. It'll be really hard for someone else to snipe Meruem's limbs while he's using the Buddha.

Anonymous
>>39235684

The Japanese doesn't actually say that his power rose to equal the King. Also, power level isn't everything, as we see with Killua owning Youpi with a 1/10th of the power. Gon is talented, but Meruem is talented and trained in strategy, plus Gon would have difficulty charging, landing, and actually dealing damage rock paper scissors with Meruem's speed and armor.

Patricia
>>39300679

Definitely!! But strategy also comes into play a lot, like for Kurapika and Uvo's fight, Kurapika was a less experienced fighter and when it came to raw power, Uvo is still stronger and has more aura, but Kurapika's ability was crafted just to defeat the Ryodan, at the end that's strategy. I think this is something I always loved about HxH, as much as I love Naruto type fights, the ones in HxH are still top for me.

HENRIQUE DE MATTOS PONTARA NOGUEIRA

One thing that always come to my mind is that even with the powerfull post morthem nen (thats how we say?), i belive that gon let himself get hit to lost the arm to fell like kite.

DxShadow
>>39273649

Meruem would still end up in the same situation cause the explosive goes off when netero's heart stops beating.

Senjioh

I am not 100% sure but I think Gon made a nen contract that allowed his body to age and develop to a moment in time that he could kill Pitou so assuming Gon is in his late 20s early 30s here that means if he keeps training as he is he will be equal to or stronger then Netero in his prime at like half the chairmans age its bloody insane. That also explains the long hair 20+ years with no hair cut.

Dorzo
>>39631930

i know this is a late comment but he sacrificed his years of potential and never using nen again to get the power, in the manga he cant use nen again.

Senjioh
>>39631930

So in the manga he cant use nen anymore even after he was fixed? I never continued after the anime I dont have enough time to read manga unfortunately

Storm Blade

Yo he said "i don't trust this show to keep gon alive" LMAOOOOO

Jay rellim
>>39631930

@quanzoku yes, that is exactly right. The next/current arc also has not really featured much of him at all (it's on hiatus and isnt too far in though)

Senjioh
>>39631930

Well in a way I am sad and happy the anime stopped, I dont think I would have enjoyed the future arcs

Christina

There are LITERAL dissertations in this comments section lol... and imma read all of them

Jose Morel

Too bad we all gonna be 6 ft under before we get a new manga chapters smh.

Miki

He said what about gons arm....um gon sacrificed his life to end pitou he didnt want to walk out of this alive. It was a punishment for pitou but also himself since he also felt responsible too for kite death

DBJXXVIII
>>39631930

I thought he could use nen again but he had to start from square one again ?

this guy ?gae

pitou dig her own grave, if they were in the palace gon would obliterate all them including meruem

Dan Coatesy

my favourite episode of any anime ever, goosebumps every time

Shawn Oxley

The switch up for this ep was something else, one of my faves of all time tbh
