from reddit: "Stands can be based on the user's personality, but since rats have little to no sentience, the Stands they develop are instead created from their animal instinct to survive nature. Both rats wanted to dominate other rats while having a steady supply of food, so they got the same Stand for those basic needs."

AnSu

the rats were likely of the same family and gained the stand from otoishi shooting one of them, same way jonathan’s body had hermit purple just like joseph, and dio and jotaro had the same stand

Warsame

Stands are different due to the users different mental strength personalities goals etc im guessing rats dont differ and all have the same objective itd probably be weirder for them to have different stands lmaoo idk why but i just thought of pickle rick rick with a stand yikes

Jonathon didn't have Hermit Purple. Dio using that in Part 3 was because Araki originally intended The World to be a Stand that could use all other Stand powers. After realizing how OP that would be, he changed it to stopping time.

EZ

I love the art style and shading this episode

“I wonder if when jotaro tips his hat his scalp skin pulls a little bit” lmfaoooo

Cody Braim

Lupa sneezing somewhere from the end of the video

VanillaCoke1956 .

This fight is a regular meme because this rat almost takes out Jotaro who fought all kinds of strong opponents, especially Dio, in the past.

Daniel Turner

Also holly had a similar stand to Joseph and the Darby brothers could both take souls, family members can have similar stands and since their rats which comes in litters probably twin rats

Isaiah Gray

I wonder how long Jotaro has been out here fighting stand users and being practically a detective? After Stardust Crusaders, he became a Marine Biologist, which means he had to have gone to college. Was this man just out here beating up evil stand users while taking college exams and shit? I feel like I need a side story to this man.

Don't forget Jonathan. Joseph, and Holly all had similar stands.

Egg Plant

just realized something. all of the animal stand user's stands were robotic looking in some sort of way. since stands represent the personality and soul of the user, i guess a robotic looking stand for animals represent the more primal instincts and lack of a goal besides pure survival

FragZone

Lmao awww, poor guy! Fucking Roshi only has sympathy for the weirdest type of people and animals that don't even deserve it hahaha

Vikar

I mean dio and jotaro have like the exact same stand, it's not that weird

MoJo

It's crazy how all animals have OP stands. It makes sense though, given their instincts just to survive and then put them on the same level as a Human? Good luck fighting that lol

Agreed! I think it's the best looking episode in the entire series. Craziest part it's a one off episode about fighting rats haha.

Like in Hxh with the chimera ants how they can naturally conceal their presents

XerBlade

It occured to me right as I pressed play that this probably isn't the best episode to watch while I'm eating dinner.

cassherms

You came for more JOJO’S SURPRISES!!!!!! Hell yeahhh

Fing3rP0P

Stands are a reflective of the self. My understanding is the two rats live in the same way and have the same goals and viewpoints. So their stands would basically be the same as any other wild rat.

But if it was a house raised rat. The rat could have a different stand. Much like how people with stands differ from each other.

How is a rat the smartest opponent in part 4 so far?

He literally said he was rusty though so I assume he hasn’t needed to use Star Platinum that heavily since the Dio fight.

Nyv

"Which we know because of the orangutan" Iggy: "Am I a joke to you?"

Drake Rage

I remember Golden Kamuy gave an explanation about animals backtracking too, really cool.
