Also, Yoshikage Kira's names have the characters fir Luck and Shadow, and Kira sounds like Killer in English. Therefore Kira's name can be roughly turned into a Lucky Killer who lurks in the Shadows.

well, not entirely correct, because the loan word would be キラー (Kiraa). I know the difference might seem small, but in Japanese one extra vowel makes a ton of difference, also 'Kira' Is a legitimate Japanese name, both as in given name and family name. But Araki still went for the word pun because it sounds similar lol

I think part 7 is overrated. It is a very good part, definitely in the top 3 for me, but people claim it is one faultfree masterpiece in the olymp of manga. The first third is boring, and I don't really like the steel ball fights (but I admit they'll profit from animation)
