I know this is way after these were recorded but can I just say I'm having a blast with you and love that you are criticizing this show for the right reasons. Martial arts evolve, they changed from classical to more of a MMA style. That's never what bothered me. What bothered me is that Korra is trash and just trips and fails her way through the show with the best results being "Well, that could have been worse" and ENDED THE AVATAR CYCLE. Ugh.

You clearly don’t see the points of the seasons and how much good she did for the world. Sure she lost her avatar cycle but she prevented 3 wars and the end of the world. Which is worth it. She did more as the avatar than any avatar before her.

she didnt use energy bending in season 1 btw because that wasnt what Amon did. She most likely used bloodbending amped by the avatar state to undo what he did so yeah she hasnt learned energy bending

I can agree with that. When you think about it Aang grew up as a normal kid and was suddenly told he was the avatar and Korra grew up knowing she was the avatar and lived her life accordingly without thinking about life outside of being the avatar.

and come on guys not everything is korras fault. Unalaq and vaatu made the vines come. The only thing korra did was make airbenders which is a good thing. I'll never understand korra hate.

The theory with the new airbenders is that some air nomads survived the genocide but had to hide their bending. Since the air benders rely so heavily on their spirituality to bend their bending became weaker and since the nomads most likely had kids with non air nomads they didn’t produce air benders. Harmonic convergence and opening the portals changed the spiritual energy so the descendants of the air benders now have air bending

its actually a really popular theory that while the fire nation was attacking the air temples looking for the avatar that a few air benders escaped and started a new life hiding in the earth nation colonies. these air benders hid their bending and had kids that never practiced their bending or where non benders like Boomy and whatever Kora did jump started the descendants of those escaped air benders. that's why in the show they only find new air benders in the earth nation not the fire nation or water tribes.

Damn people really are heated in the comment section over someone else's opinion of a TV show.. I'd hate to see when they realize that Lupa is in the majority - Korra herself is garbage regardless of her 'redemption' in later seasons. The writers were just salty people kept asking to see Aang so they took him out of the equation entirely.

They never really address it in the show, which I think does make it a bit confusing here, but Korra never used spiritbending to return people's bending in Book 1. I don't remember where it's said, but as far as I recall, Amon took people's bending by using bloodbending to sever their chi points and stop the flow. Aang showed Korra how to heal those points, not spiritbend.

I still can't believe people think nobody had to deal with the shit Korra did as if Aang didn't stop a war at age 12 and Wan literally fought Vaatu and sealed him in the first place by himself. I find I hate Korra more not for her mistakes but because her fans willingly ignore her shortcomings, try to clown Aang, and make stupid arguments in defense of Korra. Like LoZ has its moments but I otherwise like the concept of the show in its whole. It's just layered with a MC that constant stumbles into the next problem because she needs something to do. She can't just chill and take her training seriously so when a something actually bad happens she can be ready. instead she constantly ignores everyones advice until she messes up and then takes it out on them. Like she literally shitted on Mako, her Dad, and Tenzin because she was impaitent and arrogant as fuck. Which almost lead to 10,000 years of darkness.
