Idk if anybody has asked on a previous episode or not, but are you guys gonna be watching the ova memory snow? I’m pretty sure it takes place between episode 11 and 12. Also the frozen bond movie gives some good backstory on Emilia, so I recommend you watch it after season 1 even if you don’t react to it.

By the way, there's an OVA that takes place after episode 11 in the director's cut. It's called memory snow and you can find it on crunchyroll. You could technically watch it now, or watch it after you finish season 1. Both work. There aren't any spoilers, but there is foreshadowing in the OVA.

I'm really not sure why since the previous episode y'all had been so certain that Ram cut off her own horn, acting as if she actually said that at some point. When that was never even implied, in fact she outright said the basic gist of what really happened to it right from the beginning.

This is one of the most difficult anime to me for deciding best girl. I love both Emilia and Rem so much. And there's a few others too, one that comes later in S1, and two that pop up in S2.... oof.

It was the scene where he asked her what she thought the red oni should do, and her response was "cut off his own horns so he's not a threat to the villagers". It was pretty easy to read that line as foreshadowing what she actually did in that situation.

I don't know if someone said it already, but in the past Rem would call Ram onee-chan (an affectionate way of calling your big sister). After Ram lost her horn and Rem started to get depressed, she would call her Nee-sama, an overly formal and respectful way to address your big sister, symbolizing how she idolizes Ram and the distance she put between them. When running away from the dog, Rem calls Ram Onee-chan again, which is what made Ram collapse, when she realized just how deeply Rem cared about Subaru in that moment, that she would appeal directly to Ram's feelings
