He definitely had an idea about what was going on but this was the type of closure that he wanted/needed with his parents even if they aren't real and he don't know if he can go back to his world to actually talk with his parents so this was the perfect time to have a heart to heart with them

This isn’t necessarily a spoil because we don’t get anymore insight about the real world after this point, and the author was asked a question about Subaru parents and what they are doing while Subaru had been isekai into another world and such. (Edit) Basically to summarize what the author said Subaru parents have no clue wtf happened to him ever since he went to the grocery store nor does the police have any leads what happened so they’ve been depressed struggling day by day not knowing what happened to him.

That’s also the reason why Subaru was acting the way he did to the knights way back in season 1. Saying ohh you only got this position is because of your dad being pervious knights and being awesome. He was forcing his way of thinking onto himself that it’s not that big of a deal.

WDYM "what happens to his body"? Is this your first isekai? Based on the fact that it's still the same body and no reincarnation happened, he was thus logically literally just somehow teleported, body and all, into this world. If it's a reincarnation type of thing w/ new body and all, then it would probably be cremated or something by now.

The dad hinted that the mom was preggers and the mom's antics of eating weirdly gave the rest away. They dropped a hint so that you could tell that they have another kid on the way.
