I'm not surprised when they miss stuff tbh, they kinda end up coincidentally end up talking over a lot of crucial moments. It would be cool if they did most discussions after the video rather than trying to guess what's literally about to be said a couple seconds after and they end up talking over it.

I feel like u guys are a bit confused about the reason why subaru was confused when otto call subaru a friend. When he first met otto, he pushed him away to save his own life. Even in season 2, otto is doing all this ( meeting roswall, merchant trading) for his own benefits. So in his mind, he assume otto stick around with them for his own benefits which is slightly true but he also consider himself subaru friend (which subaru obviously do not realise). So when otto turn down the offer of taking the gemstone from garfield to save his own life he was confused. Every reset he has been betrayed by somebody (even rem) so he can't really trust anyone as a close friend (just an acquaintance that can be helpful) so when he realised his stupidity that no one would ever think of him as a friend, he laugh at himself on how stupid it is. But it is understandable if u look at his perspective when everyone in the world have an ulterior motive and he got to gain trust from different people to gain their favor, it's a bit hard to be "friends", mostly friend with benefits on how to survive the next day. Sorry for the long rant, its the first time im writing a long text! As always love your videos!!

The reason why Subaru reacted that way with Otto is because he felt like he was betrayed by people he trusted (Beatrice, Garfiel, Ryuzu) and simply can't believe that he has someone thats willing to help him.

It's important to note that Otto only threw Subaru off the carriage because of his ability. Otto has the ability to speak to any living creature (not control them, just for context) and he has no control over this ability so when the white whale showed up he could actually hear the whales voice and it fucked him up so bad it literally made him go insane and that's why he kicked off Subaru. He wouldn't have done something like that otherwise but he was not in his right mind

subaru was laughing cuz its the first time he had a "friend" in his life. both here and back in his old world. and it was one of hte first time someone came to save him without any kind of strings attached. everyone else was out to get him so he just couldnt believe it and started laughing

Not really. You re-read things in the LN all the time to understand it better. You can do the same thing with the anime. Everything is there, I notice more shit every time I re-watch. Up to you/them to dedicate the time to actually giving a shit about what the story is telling you.

I get being mad he couldn't save her but being an asshole to someone who just saved your life and is healing you is trash. He's a scumbag for that. I really wish Subaru could be White Whale-fighting Betelguese Subaru and not whiny douchey Subaru. I get that he's going through trauma and it's awful but it really sucks watching him being whiny or a DB like this. I really wish confident Subaru was the norm after S1 instead of going back to this.
