Gabe

Woooo let's go

Gabe

Back to watching lupa suffer 💀

Drakuse

Yoo let’s gooo, I was more excited for their reaction than the actual episode 😂

Carlos Jones

Just a friendly remind to be extra cautious with spoilers, a lot of people think they're slick with hinting at stuff without being blatant spoilers but the crew is smart enough to read between the lines and pick up on details.

Jake Disarufino

The animation this episode was amazing the art threw me off a little but excited to see maapa snap

cassherms

MAPPA FLEXIN THE OPENING AND ENDING!!!!!! 😱😱😱😱

Beagle

I'm sure others are going to comment this, but the people they're fighting against aren't the Eldians on Paradis. They're at war with the Mid-Eastern Alliance, which is basically just a whole other country on the mainland that has no connection to anybody on Paradis island. When the world saw that Marley failed to get the Founding Titan back, it made Marley look weak and so other countries are trying to take their position of power now.

Oui Oui

Lupa the man just said they were too high up. Y'all gotta pay attention

CRuEL_WOrlD

Please watch out y’all, Some cunt already ruined a major event for me nd im fkn pissed. Dnt let fat manga fucks ruin this experience for you guys too.

Daniel Turner

Damn sheera on point again, Gabi was based of erens female design the author drew

sim
>>49074772

the op was left to suffer visually lol songs great though, and no its not because mappa didnt want to spoil anything they literally aint got time

H3ntaiconnoiss3ur

Jaw titan got niggas saying "Ymir could never" Zeke tryna get in that cover video for "It's Raining Men"

TGDelta

The Middle Eastern Fed. declared war on Marley because they lost 2 titans behind the walls. I haven't read the manga so this is a guess but I'm assuming Falco is going to get a Titan and is getting that person's memories

Al

y’all are in for a treat fr dawg 😭😭😭

Archangel Nathanael

It’s been a nine year time skip. Zeke says this right when they send the titans out of the plane. They’ve been at war with the Mid eastern alliance the last four years. So five years after the beach scene with Eren, they went to war with this country. Excited to see all this for the first time with y’all!!!

Jules Eris
>>49075503

bruh it's been 3 years since the beach scene, 4 years since the basement.

EndeavorxGoat

Mappa is only adapting the Marley arc btw reason why this season is only 16 episodes. A part 2 to season 4 isn’t confirmed yet.

Peter Uzoegwu

lol 😂 wtf lupa said this is beef

Prime
>>49075856

It's not gonna take 16 episodes to animate this arc. Still getting parts of the next arc animated.

Settsu

All 4 of those kids are candidates warriors which means they are in it to inherit one of the tian shifter powers once their 13 years are over!!

Jonas

Yo MAPPA doing justice to this show!!!

Gabby Boakye-yiadom

How long does Eren have left? About 2-3 years to live right?

Norman

At 19:07 I deadass thought he was gonna scream WRYYYYY lmao

amberrr

wow this first episode was probably the best first episode i've seen of anime. JUST WOW. mappa did an amazing job and it was like AOT never left us. just wow. the characters, the lines, the animation, the music, everything. 10/10

Joel Braaten

You three are in for a treat! This whole season is going to be amazing.

Devin B
>>49075424

I'm pretty sure that was just him being delusional and them making a callback to the survey corps, nothing to take serious. Plus from what we've seen with Eren and how he saw his father's memories it wouldn't make sense for Falco to see someone's memories before getting a titan.

LeafEatingCow

Apparently ppl didnt like the cgi. Like really? They say the whole thing is trash based off of this. Also glad you picked up on what falco said about flying around. Its very important.

Fenrir

I'm so confused on whats going on

scottrager

damn y'all were super confused lmaoo they're fighting people that saw marley's weakness after marley got their asses whooped by paradise and lost the colossus and the female. All the countries that Marley was dominating went to war with Marley bc of the weapons Marley lost, those countries thought they had a chance of breaking free from MArley. Marley's been using the titans to rule over other countries, and after it lost a portion of the titans it had (i.e. the colossal, the female, and [temporarily] the jaw), it triggered a war bc the countries saw an opportunity to break free. So they had to postpone the Paradise island stuff and fight these other people. Meanwhile our Eren squad is chillin. It's not known what they're up to but you should assume they're at home

Kevin (I’m a girl btw)

Eh the first episode was ok,kinda boring in my opinion it got good around the end with Reiner attacking but that’s it. I was hoping to see the main characters but it is what it is

Ted Cali

“This is beef.” - Lupa-san, 2020. But you know what? Accurate summary of this season.

Jaime Ruiz

I didnt really like the CGI... eh

Beef Gristle Mill
>>49077597

I didn't not like it, it was just weird at times like when Galliard ripped up the train tracks. Cause in the trailer it wasnt cgi and it looked fantastic, overall it's not bad and I was already warming up to it👌. I'm hoping they do it for a few episodes then hit us with some mind blowing animation that leaves us dumbfounded like the scenes with Levi in S3 Ep3, but even if they don't it's fine they way it is.

Alex cleveland

BRO, stop doing this stupid ass clever bullshit. Dont do that cuz! That Rachel shit aint gonna be the next thing for AOT BRO! I hate when ppl give out these OBVIOUS ass hints. Plus the fucking emoji says it all. I hate manga readers sometimes dawg......

Alex cleveland

Idk what yall smoking, but the CGI or 3D animation for the titans is not that bad. I actually like the new appoarch, however, I do still prefer the regular 2D animation.

Alex cleveland
>>49074271

I just commented on a guys comment; alr hinting on a certain character. Yall manga readers really do need these anime adaption hands cause we anime watchers u MFs, not manga readers.... which should be completely obvious🤦🏽‍♂️

Saleenseven

awesome first episode! way better cgi than wit

Devin B
>>49080191

I actually like how the jaws and armored titan look, still don't know how to feel about the beast titan

Al

sheera was right about the girl that reminded of her of eren. She’s basically a girl version of eren on the other side

Fenrir

I just don’t get the marely and the other one. I don’t know who’s “good” or “bad.”

Brad
>>49082657

another user said this which sums it up well (scottrager) - "they're fighting people that saw marley's weakness after marley got their asses whooped by paradise and lost the colossus and the female. It's not known what they're up to but you should assume they're at home''

Fenrir

So why is zeke attacking Marley then and isn’t the one with the skull head Marley too? Oh and the kids were fighting for Marley because of one of the higher ups. I don’t know. I’m so confused

M Willy

Y’all should watch studioalexs recap of season 1-3 but do so without getting spoiled

Brad
>>49083304

Zeke, the kids, and reiner, and the masked titan are all on the same side attcaking the same enemy. The kids are warriors in training. Their job is to take the titan from the armor and beast titan in the future. Thinnk of like the reiss ceremony where the titans get passed down every few years. its the same thing. The only difference is that its a competition and the kids are competing against each other for it. So they are trying to show their abilities on the battlefield to get it for themselves.

jess

So correct me if i am wrong but isn't kinda messed up how Marley sacrificing Eldians to fight on the front lines to show their loyalty, even though they were probably forced to obey. Also how they other kids (Eldians) are fighting to become the next Titan, though they are not Marley.

Fenrir

So basically Zeke will fight alongside eren and the other eldians? Or they still trying to get the coordinate?

Staus

It was the Middle Eastern Federation vs Marley, The Jaw titan was Ymir's titan but every individual looks different even though it might be the same titan power, without reading the manga I suspect that the first half of the season might be a lot of Marleys perspective so that we can relate to both sides once shit hits the fan, very pleased with Mappas work can't wait for next week

returntolife

(I didn’t read the manga, I’m just guessing) The guy at the end with the hat is Jean, I believe he’s undercover in Marley and then the rest are with him maybe in a secret place? I think the main characters (eren, armin, etc.) are all in Marley and Jean is playing the roll as an undercover person for them if that makes sense.

Anonymous

if yall complaining about the cgi, you trippin. cgi isnt bad. some shows just do bad cgi. Mappa def has experience with cgi since they also did dorohedoro

Jay rellim

ayeee good shit! this new season is information overload at the beginning so pls try to pay closer attention! I know yall joke and comment during the reaction but in this season it means you'll miss out on vital information and ask questions that were literally answered in the episode lol

Jay rellim

wtf if falco has memories of flying around w/ swords fighting titans i'd be pissed if that basically confirms he will somehow eat eren in the future. the only titan that can do this 'memory sending that transcends time' thing is the AT and not any other.... i hope this isnt the case (maybe it's a joke and implies they've heard stories about the scouts on paradis island from reiner and zeke and thus could visualize what that looks like)

Thamor
>>49091349

Naah they like to be "clapped in comments", that is how they roll.

Jay rellim
>>49092095

im not spoiling?? i literally dont know if this will happen or not lol im speculating bc i know the AT does crazy memory sending stuff by the end of season 3...... so how am i spoiling?

Mers0n

Explanation (no spoilers): Marley has been fighting a 4 year war against this Eastern Federation thing (they are not Eldians and are not related to that conflict on Paradis. Marley used Eldian soldiers on the front lines, the Eldians go along with it for reasons that will be clarified in coming episodes. Essentially they see the world the same way Grisha's father did. Eldians are discriminated against by the vast majority of other nations due to the history of the Empire of Eldia as Grisha's dad told us at the end of Season 3 P.2 (hence why one of the Eastern soldiers called the Eldian recruits 'devils').

VlSch
>>49097572

Your efforts are futile. They don't read the comments, and they are slow at getting things, just accept that

OldManMag

The Marleans? Are at war with the world. Think of them as if the Nazi's won. Titans is what kept them in charge. But the world's tech is catching up so the Marleans are getting desperate to hold on to power and want the founding titan who they exiled and had a "contract" with to keep them on the island as long as they didn't leave they wouldn't keep the war going that lead to their exile to the island(eren's home)

Josiah

https://youtu.be/pWA2R7y_uQc this is what I watched before watching the first episode and it's an great 10 min explanation of things that you'll need to know. He does say one thing that might technically be a spoiler I'm obviously not a manga reader so I don't know what happens but it just give an name for what Falco (the kid that dreames of the 3D gear) and explains what it is. Other than that it has great information.

Zonbi

I feel like I'm watching a completely different show than what you're seeing in a lot of these scenes lol

Raider

While i feel like most of the comment section for AoT will be shit. I am hyped to finish AoT with Roshi, Sherra & Lupasan

Blue Sapphire

why do Manga readers act so slick with their fucking "hints". People aren't stupid stop spoiling the fucking show

smem

imagine if our people on paradise had 1/4 of these anti titan canons

Justin Neason

Why ya'll let Sheera think they were fighting Reiner and Zeke for that long, it's not her fault her Sheeringan didn't work one time xD

Ahridva

wasn't able to find it online so I decided to watch it with yall instead :D

greyxwaren

damn marley got them kids acting like “we’re one of the good ones” i swear aot depicting racism and classism and presenting it surrounded by such a chaotic environment but STILL manages to make me feel more disturbed by it than titans falling from the skies

Nikolai Cannady

Timeskip is 5 years after they found the beach and ocean. They had said they are at war with the Middle Eastern Federation other nations are attacking them since they appear weak after losing two titans behind enemy lines. I think the change in perspective from our characters to the Marleyan's was very jarring for you guys and caused a lot of confusion but I'm sure y'all read the helpful comments already :-)

rayman
>>50065640

no the timeskip is closer to 3 years (less than 4, more than 3). The initial Paradis attack was 9 years ago...in S3 it had been 5 years and by the last ep of S3 it had been another timeskip of 6mo-1year. So it's been 3-4 years since S3 finale.

rayman
>>49119634

ya wtf they confusing themselves sooo hard in this episode lmao. It really wasn't that confusing based on what we learned at the end of S3. They even just finished it not long before this ep.

rayman
>>49195699

ya idk where she got that from lol. I feel like when they don't know something they just start filling in blanks and making stuff up which confuses themselves even more. They need to just watch and process the info they receive

Nikolai Cannady

It’s literally confirmed to be 4 years. “How long is the Time Skip? It was confirmed that there is a four year long Time Skip in Attack on Titan Season 4. Meaning, the return of Shiganshina which took place in the year 850 happened four years prior. The current events are taking place in the year 854.”

Nikolai Cannady

I looked it up after all the different conflicting answers
