@Radical It has less to do with that and more to do with cultural practices in some countries especially in regards to old war times. Political marriages etc played a huge part in our world back in the day regardless of the age gap and who knows I'm sure it still happens today. Doesn't make it right but my point was they aren't basing these kind of political plays in this anime off of nothing.
