So towards the end, Echidna referred to Emilia as the ''frozen witch'' and ''witch's daughter'' but not because she is a witch (I think), but because of the fact that Emilia has always been seen as a witch for looking like Satella. Back in season one it was directly stated that Emilia closely resembled Satella and that's why so many people viewed her so negatively, and it's also why Emilia has always struggled with her low self-esteem. So essentially Echidna only really called Emilia a witch in order to add on to her insults xD. Also, I think you guys should watch the Frozen Bonds movie at some point because it gives a bit of insight on how life was for Emilia before she met Subaru and before she met Roswaal.

The Subaru pose though. Emilia finally stands up to say she's the heroine. My only issue with her throughout the whole show was how dependent she was on others, literally shown she would break mentally without Puck and Subaru. But now is on her path to growing some confidence in herself.

Puck can do what he wants now, he's not dead. In the OVA he was just all over the place, he doesn't need to be in a crystal or a contract. Also with the whole Frozen witch thing, she's been called that for ages so I'm fairly sure she's being sarcastic here - just like Subaru (same pose)

emilia is not actually a “frozen witch”, she just calls herself one because in frozen bonds - she was called that her whole life basically so now she just goes along with it to show ppl it doesn;t phase her anymore. The only witches we know of in the show are the 7 witches of Sin

Does anyone know if they watched the Frozen Bonds OVA/movie, it would help with some backstory on emilia and puck and why she would call herself the frozen witch in this episode

The reason why Emilia calls herself the "Frozen Witch" is a callback to the Frozen Bonds OVA (it's pretty important, so I think you guys should watch it at some point in time, it's meant to be watched anytime after season 1, but helps to give more context to this part of the season) where the villagers referred to Emilia as the Frozen Witch. She's not actually a witch (at least from what we know at this point in time in the show, this is not a spoiler from the novels or anything.) Echidna only called her the "witch's daughter" to hurt her morale, which didn't work.

Garfs Mother was forced to have a Kid by the Half Beast Mercenary Leader to have Frederica and then when that Mercenary Group got raided by another Merc Group the Merc leader forced Garf on her . This is pretty important to know why Garf wanted his Mother to hate him to feel better .

Puck broke the contract with Emilia to unlock her memories. That's the reason. It's been established. Literally has little to nothing to do with Subaru. Subaru has always had the Shamac ability. Puck taught him how to use it back in S1. Nothing to do with his meeting with the Witches. Also, just to clarify, Echidna mentioned in Part 1 of this season that the Sloth Witch Factor transferred to him after he defeated Betelgeuse. He was only just now able to actually use it. From the visuals of the episode, it seemed like using shamac at that time broke some sort of barrier or seal? I could be wrong. But that's how it seemed to me, and then he was able to use the Sloth Witch Factor.

I'm sure someone has said this already, but after this episode... this show has become a masterpiece. Every single character matters. Every single character has flaws, and they overcome it in some shape or form. Character progression is what makes this show wonderful. I love every single one of these characters. Even the villains because they have interesting backstories. The world is very fleshed out. It is a living world that we can understand because of the said characters and their role/interaction in it. Even after the episode where Subaru has his trial, this episode surpassed even that one because here you get the double whammy. Subaru being a positive influence on such a stubborn preteen like Garfiel, and Garfiel having his trial, thus having a new perspective and purpose to his life. Goddamn do I love this show. Don't @me. Or if you do, I'll converse with yall about it!
