Comments

nakin

do these vids go blurry for anyone else

haley

Yes but sometimes when u close the browser then open it back up it helps

jesse almonte

people don't like it, cuz its SAI

eastbaynick

I will try showing lupa a scene from the 2nd cour(won't put title just incase) and it will forsure get him hyped

wilkthesilk

First part of this story wise was pretty good to me but drops the ball at the end of part one and part 2 goes back to the poor storytelling the series is known for.

Deshawn Smith

Most people don't like it because MEME

DabnDab

I just didnt like the second season of Sao, turned me off from it. This season is ok though.

Alex cleveland

idk Roshi y ppl don't like this show. Maybe u always have low expectations all the time for shows or something lol😂🤷🏽‍♂️

Devin B

For me the first part of season one started of good but the ending was lackluster cause Kayaba didn't give a concrete reason for trapping thousands of players in a game where they could die, the second part of season one wasn't appealing to me as much, and then GGO had a cool concept to it but it was just mid for me. It took me a while to get back into this show but Alicization was actually better than I thought it was going to be.

Devin B

The fights go crazy in the second cour. This cour they're in has decent fights too.

MakAttack G

Fun thing to note is that Echidna and Quinella (Administrator) share the same voice actress, Maaya Sakamoto.

Leaky Peach

I understand why you fell off. For me, I stuck it through because I was a genuine normie who lacked taste. Fortunately, the Mother's Rosario arc was really heartfelt and touching. Haven't watched Alicization yet, but MR was SAO's best arc by a bit so... Oh! And I also started reading SAO Progressive which is good so far

Devin B

Yeah Mother's Rosario actually hit a lot harder than I thought it was going to and I agree it was definitely better than the arcs before it. I also liked how it was able to hold up without Kirito being the focus character of the arc. I was thinking about reading SAO Progressive but then I heard they were going to animate it this year and decided to wait for that.

Leaky Peach

It's gunna be a movie (which I'm fine with btw). That said, the source material goes pretty slow since it goes floor by floor, so if you want the full experience, I recommend you check it out regardless. I'm excited for it though.

Jaime Adam

This shows hard fuck the haters

Leaky Peach

I've read the manga adaptation of Progressive... don't do that. It's alright but not anything remarkable.

kuroihana

first two cours of alicization are the best thing to come out of sao imo. Kinda hoping the Progressive movie tops that tho

Anonymous

This season in particular is fire man but the next one/second part is trash i swear 😂

Alan

This season starts pretty okay and then falls off hard. Shit turns mega cringey super fast.

Grand-Daddy Longnuts

Watch the OG SAO if you haven't already and you'll get a good idea of how people don't give this one a chance

Thamor

That is a nice fact and shows real VA's can have well done different voices to different characters. Compared to *cough* dub VA's :D

SixPathTobi

Theyve watch everything bruh.. Thats why theyre on the new stuff. Think a little man

Skebaba

It doesn't help that SAO before Alicization was shit lets be real, the Gary Sue MC was shit, and the author learned his mistakes by Alicization

Grand-Daddy Longnuts

Oh no I'm not recommending they actually do that, I'm saying there's a _great_ argument for skipping the first Sword Art Online, and it's the first 2 seasons of Sword Art Online. So if I found out they just skipped everything and started on this season I'd completely understand.

Chaos

OG SAO wasnt necessarily bad, the Alfheim arc wasnt that good but overall SAO is a good watch imo

XerBlade

The reason people don't like this show, separated by type: People who only watch stuff like Naruto or My Hero Academia --> Too complicated. Typical vocal minority types --> It's popular, therefore I must hate it by default. The actual majority --> Loves SAO.

XerBlade

The next season is trash in general. It feels far more trash if you've read the source material. Seriously.

L.C.

The majority doesn't love SAO. If they did it would be more popular. I have mha as one of my favorite series and I understand that MHA is literally the biggest normie series right now but I watch tons of other anime and some are arguably complicated like rezero or even mushoku tensei. Frankly I just don't care to watch SAO anymore. The majority who aren't watching SAO are people that don't want to give it another shot after the huge trashfest that happened with it years ago or like me to where I frankly don't give a fuck about watching it anymore.

Alex cleveland

@XerBlade SAO overall is very hated in general lol. Im pretty sure a lot of ppl thinks SAO has hella issues in the show, and it hasn't progressively gotten any better. Dude multiple websites, and YouTube channels rate SAO at an all time low, especially it being extremely popular. A lot ppl see SAO has THE MOST overrated anime series ever. Lol and also DragonBall Super is also extremely overrated. It was a horrible squeal to the DB franchise if we being non-bias here ppl...

Alex cleveland

Ppl just don't wanna admit the flaws of a show🤷🏽‍♂️ Ima always be a fan of my fav shows, never a Stan tho.

HalfroSamurai

I'm not a huge fan of SAO because I find that it touches on topics it isn't equipped to explore, has a fairly bland MC, and falls into typical shonen tropes a bit too often. The series never really explores the fascinating idea of "what makes something real" outside of surface level analysis that is quickly shelved to make room for the action scenes (which I do enjoy for the record). I find Kirito to be incredibly reactionary (a little like Ichigo from Bleach in later seasons) and is defined almost entirely through his relationships with others. Other than a general desire to learn more about virtual worlds, he is always getting shoved into situations. There isn't the driving force of becoming the hokage, finding the one piece, etc. Also if I have to see another female character get licked and groped for the sole purpose of displaying Kirito's skills, I might die.

mahfuz ahmad

I'll be honest, SAO is like one of the worst shows. like this series of SAO Alicisation both seasons, are like really good because of the animation quality, storyline, character development, etc while the previous seasons are bad. season 1 was trash like lets be honest, the fights were meh, the quality was average, the plot was plain and simple character development was mediocre and the fan service bit at the end of it (some of you will know what i mean) was just dumb. season 2 was again meh there was nothing special about it and in all honestly there were waay better animes that those. however ordinal scale, the movie was impressive and actually felt like a step up from the previous seasons and this season is actually enjoyable to watch, apart from that stupid fan service they added in

XerBlade

@FaLLenHeRO 2,259,766 members on MAL have watched SAO. 1,994,842 members on MAL have watched MHA. What were you saying about how "it would be more popular"? Like I said, vocal minorities. They're coloring your perceptions of the masses. They really shouldn't. And before you toss literally any other possible statistic besides the sheer number of people watching it, know that's what popularity is. BTW, I didn't say anything about LIKING MHA. I really like MHA. And Naruto. The first 2 episodes of MHA season 1 just might be one of the best self-contained arcs in anime history. I referred specifically to people who ONLY watch those sorts of shows. @Galen Sauls Really not the place for that...

XerBlade

You just described the vocal minority in a nutshell. The majority don't talk about anime on YouTube or make lists of the most overrated anime. And all the big AniTuber channels who talk about SAO being one of the worst anime ever? They're joking. I watch those channels, too. They watch as much anime as I do. Some more. Dude, you haven't seen terrible anime. Even if SAO isn't your cup of tea, the vast majority of anime out there is objectively worse. The vast majority of anime out there, practically no one has heard of, and the world is a better place for it. The "hatred" is because it's popular. That's all. If not for that, the people who aren't fans wouldn't even give it a second look. P.S. I have never met a person IRL that didn't like Dragon Ball Super (who watches anime). That is some YouTuber/journalist shit there.

L Jeans

SAO is a guilty pleasure, we know its pretty bad, we still watch. This new season was started off better dipped and came back a bit. typical sao

Reign

people hate this show because Season 2 was awful the ending to season 1 was awful gun gale was really awful and the fan base for the show is unbearable to deal with. Alicization however was a good step in the right direction with the 2nd part being the best the entire franchise has to offer ( mostly because a certain someone isn't involved for 90% of it and better characters get time to showcase themselves and develop )

Mad4Life

Main reason why the show gets hate is Kirito is one of the most boring MCs on the planet with a cast of one dimensional females (aside from maybe Asuna) who only serve to be part of his harem. The whole show just revolves around making Kirito look "cool" or "badass" when it really comes off as cringe. Every male character that isn't Kirito is either a creep, evil or irrelevant to the plot all to make Kirito look more appealing to the females in the show. Only the blond hair kid doesn't fit into this category but he's still made at times to look inferior to Kirito. Over all this season is much better than the first 2 seasons and while I can see how some people can like the first 2 seasons it's a bit silly to think why you wouldn't understand why the show gets so much hate. It's pretty warranted.

Supplication of Perpetuity

I just watch it for the cool looking swords and armor 🤷🏼‍♂️. Plus some of the swords skills are like... super satisfying to watch

Ace Overton

Completely incorrect. While the female characters are supporting to Kirito, they are all dynamic with their own issues. The Gun Gale Online Arc alone was deep as hell, while still keeping the my theme of the show, which is how the VR world can twist a person's reality so deeply that they no longer can tell the difference between the two

time2bool

i mean i might be biased cause it was one of my first animes, probably THE first. but to be honest, while yeah i see all the things you said, for me, its always mainly been about the VR aspect of the series, and how it can warp someones sense of reality at times. plus this technology is a DREAM for me, as well as many others i expect. and while yeahkirito has infinite plot armor, its fun to see what kinda bs he can do and completely destroy all those LEGITIMATELY disgusting villians. Like the guy who was tryna do some bad things to asuna, etc. idk, but it doesnt seem THAT bad like everyone always says.

関口信玄

I think that's such a petty reason to hate the show to the degree that some ppl do. I can understand not being into it because of all that, but ppl really go to great lengths to exaggerate their negative opinion on it and act like it's a cold hard fact. It's rather excessive and pathetic, if you ask me. People really let the smallest things ruin an entire series for them sooooo easily. XD

Issac

I see your reasoning but you haven't actually talked about the plot just the character models, dig a little deeper to the actual psychological aspects of what Kirito has had to deal with as a teen none the less. You should always look deeper than whats on the screen. Like mental or emotional change, connections made through out all seasons, even the high level advanced tech. In my opinion the shows is great and it lets us look into the future a bit.

Trequan Williams

What is mal? But whatever it is can’t be that accurate because no most ppl do not like sao that is a fact way more ppl like mha don’t ever make that comparison and I don’t even like mha or with the exception of the very first season and this season sao is mid asf Id rather watch Tokyo ghoul season 3 and we all know how bad that was

Trequan Williams

Also jus because they watched it doesn’t mean it’s good or popular lmao that’s not how it works it jus means they gave the anime a try you didn’t answer anything about how good it is

DANIEL PEREZ

if they really wanted to help kirito, the rath group, would have drop hints that he would only know to help him but they want to keep doing their shady shit all to get that ai to make soldiers.
