Great Sage and Words of the World aren't the same thing. Words of the World is the general voice that otherworlders and monsters who evolve hear. Great Sage might be connected to them in some way, but it's specific to Rimuru. For example, the voice that Rimuru heard when he first died that giving him all his original skills was the Words of the World.

Trivia: - In case you missed it, Megiddo that Rimuru released is a laser type of attack, so no magic can stop it. He using merciless because of the rest of those soldiers hides in their camp where Rimuru attack cannot be reach to 1 kill hit it (like sniping on a blind spot). - The Superior Spirit that Razen summoned should've been able to put up a good fight with a normal Arch-Demon, then with Razen's support it would've been more than enough to defeat a normal Arch-Demon (not an ancient one though). Ancient Arch-Demons are on par with normal Demon Lords, and Primordial ones are stronger than normal Demon Lords. In other words, Noir/Kuro (since he still hasn't been named Diablo by Rimuru) is stronger than Karrion, Clayman, Frey, Orc Disaster and pre-True Demon Lord Evolution Rimuru. Razen had no chance whatsoever, and he has enough knowledge and understanding of demons to figure that out, hence his breakdown. - Here's a piece of info that was skipped in this episode. It's not very important, but it does carry a lot of weight world-building-wise in my opinion: When Raphael took over Rimuru's body (while Rimuru still hadn't awakened from his evolution), it really shocked Myulan a LOT. At first she thought it was Rimuru, but then she realized that it wasn't him, but instead one of his skills, she was utterly baffled since she had never heard of skills that could act on their own. This isn't even just a case of maybe Myulan not being knowledgeable enough. She's not the only one who was baffled by that. This was also a first for Noir/To-be-Diablo, though in his case he just viewed it as an additional reason why Rimuru is a special being (the first reason that motivated him to want to serve Rimuru is how Rimuru is the culminating point of the Time effect that was on the Mask when Noir met Shizu in the past). Others who were shocked include Veldora and Ifrit from within Rimuru (thanks to Veldora, they can see what's happening outside). - The reason why ONLY 3 demons were summoned by Rimuru even though he offered 20 000 corpses as sacrifice is because of Noir/Kuro/To-be-Diablo. Noir forcefully made it so that HE would be the one summoned (stopping/destroying all the other demons who were jumping at the opportunity for such a great offering, only allowing two of his own subordinate demons to follow him into the summoning). Edit: Heck, even if the summoning ritual offered no sacrifice whatsoever, Noir would've still answered the call because it was Rimuru. However, had it not been Noir, then that summoning would've summoned a LOT of demons. - As it was shown in this episode, Razen hadn't simply pre-cast a Nuclear strike spell to detonate upon his death, but he had also set it up to be able to cast it at any time he wanted. This means that he absolutely would've been able to kill Hakurou, Geld, Rigur and Gobta had they fought in the previous episode. Especially since the Nuclear Strike is just one part of Razen's magical arsenal. Out of the four of them, Geld is the only one who might have survived the Nuclear Strike spell (though he would be very injured by it), and then Razen would've been able to finish Geld off. Of course, Razen's victory wouldn't have been guaranteed. There are still chances that Hakurou and Geld might have been able to kill Razen, but the result would then have been the same (with the Nuclear Strike spell detonating). In the end, both sides decided that that fight wasn't worth it, and thus Razen retreated to an a worst battle, to an incredibly bad match up (Rimuru, and then Noir). - Power-wise, while Noir is stronger than a normal Demon Lord, he actually is a lot weaker than he could've been by then. He is about as old of a being as Veldora, but Noir decided to stop making himself stronger because he felt that it would make things too boring and easy. He had been bored out of his mind for most of his existence, his only real personal goals being to entertain himself and to find something he feels to be worth doing. Out of all the colors of Demons, the Black ones are the most eccentric and least orthodox. They don't seek greater power, nor riches nor anything greater, really. They mostly just seek things that they find themselves passionate about. Beretta (the Greater Demon summoned by Rimuru to serve and protect Ramiris (little fairy demon lord)) is one such Black Demon (you can see his full demon form (before the doll form) in the opening of season 2, with his black hair). In Beretta's case, he is somehow able to be a very good butler and to make good tea and stuff like that, which is really not something you'd normally expect from a demon (especially the ones from the Slime world). - The reason the calculation for the revival became much higher is because of 3 reasons: 1- Raphael having a lot more computation power than Great Sage. 2- Beelzebub guaranteeing that Rimuru can collect all the souls correctly 3- Rimuru now having a much higher magicule count and capacity, aka being able to handle a lot more magicules in one go to do such an intense Revival Art. - Also, I like how Benimaru resisted falling asleep for the Haverst Festival Gift out of sheer willpower, and he only let himself go when Raphael told him that it was now fine. P.S. Great Sage's insistence to evolve is so she can be of more use to Rimuru. Her insistence to evolve, in the novel, she wanted to fulfill Rimuru's wish to succeed in the resurrection ritual. So to fulfill that wish the best she could she had to evolve and also why she evolved Gluttony, because she needed it. So everything she did was for the sake of fulfilling Rimuru's greatest wish. credits to the on who wrote this

( Can create clones of the user that can be completely controlled by the user at real-time within a kilometer of the user. Fun Facto: The one that ressurected the souls of everyone was Great Sage (now Raphael). They took control of Rimuru's body while he was unconscious during the Harvest Festival. When Raphael is in control, the eyes are red. They arent specific about it in the anime but in the LN n manga they clarify it. Just so theres not confusion.

Btw, Great Sage didn't evolve into Worlds of the World. Great Sage evolved into Wise One which evolved into Rafael. Also the reason why it sounded like the monsters could hear Great Sage is because Great Sage uses the same voice as the Words of the World, since it doesn't have its own voice. What the monsters heard were the Words of the World and not Great Sage.

Just an FYI, Great sage is NOT words or the world. Great sage just uses words of the world to communicate with Rimuru. (Or should I say use to use, since after evolving into Raphael has her own voice) Remember in episode one when he got stabbed and was acquiring skills, he heard a voice that granted him great sage, that voice was words of the world.

The Words of the World is not Great Sage. Im not sure why they gave them the same voice its kinda confusing. The Words of the World is something ppl hear when someone evolves or get a new skill (idk what other stuff). But Great Sage was Rimurus Unique Skill that is like a cheat for in battles and everyday activities. If you notice during his evolution. It was Great Sage going back and forth with the Words of the World. They had the same voice so it seemed like it was one person talking. But when Great Sage evolved into Raphael, the voice changed.

Since Rimuru just evolved he needs sometime to regain energy. That was not Rimuru that was Raphael that revived everyone. Notice his eyes are Red instead of Gold. Like how it was when Great Sage auto piloted Rimuru. Raphael overtook his body and did what it needed to do. Thats why when it finished it went back to sleep.

Rimuru didn't actually wake up yet, it was confusing in the anime but the ln and manga are clearer. the skill great sage (which uses the same voice as the words of the world) had the slightest bit of sentience and because of this it actually wanted to help Rimuru but knew it needed to evolve to do so. Thus it repeatedly attempted to evolve until it sacrificed degenerate to do so, evolving into Raphael, Lord of Wisdom an ultimate skill with its own will. Raphael then completed the ritual in its master's stead. Btw Ultimate skills are basically skills that break the rules of reality and Rimuru currently has 2 Raphael and Beelzebub

Idk of y’all watched those extra episodes they had for the first season about Shizus life but she met the demon before and he helped out so he’s not all bad i think he just has a thing for strong people. Also all these biblical references are about to drive me crazy like the spell he cast is named after the place where the last battle of Armageddon is supposed to happen. Excepy he didnt actually lose the skill. The subs are a bit misleading, but Degenerate merged with Great Sage and a few others to create Raphael. Same with Merciless getting combined with Gluttony and a few others to create Beelzebub. So he still has those skills, but they just exist inside of his ultimate skills

Black is basically the biggest rimuru simp in the world: demons are attracted to knowledge and skill and Rimuru just invented a skill that killed tens of thousands and used the secret art of ressurection in the same day. Rimuru's basically a God to him (they explain this in the manga and Light novel)

In the manga and light novel, the reason Rimuru keeps the king alive is so that he can answer for his crimes, and he was planning to let Shion handle the interrogation so that she could get her revenge. He was also phenomenally pissed at how pathetic the king was, thinking 'This is the person that gave me so much trouble?'

all demons can trace their lineage to the 7 primal color demons. at the end of season 1, Black was pissed because when rimuru finally summoned a demon, not only was it not Black himself, but it was a member of the Black family, adding insult to injury (the demon he summoned for Ramiris as thanks for helping the kids, you see him in the season 2 intro). Black actually considered killing that demon out of spite but since his body was built by Rimuru himself, he abstained saying such beautiful craftmanship should not be destroyed.

they skipped it but in the LN great sage concludes that it failed too many times (it couldn't analyse Milim's attack, it couldn't analyse the spirit that Chloe got etc) and realised it needed to evolve which is why it really forced it's own evolution. It also realised it needed to become more sentient and human in order to be of better service to it's master (it couldn't come up with unique strategies like when rimuru gave Milim the honey). By being more human, it took initiative to revive the dead in rimuru's place knowing that's what he wanted. (a sentient raphael makes it's interactions with rimuru a lot more fun btw).

Yeah if i remember correctly Black is stronger then everyone in the show rn "Diablo is easily Rimuru's strongest subordinate and rightfully so when you consider. He is a Demon Progenitor which makes him one of the oldest beings in the world. Very few can hope to fight him and even if, someone is able to destroy his body and core. Diablo is beyond even death's reach as that is his own special ability as a Progenitor. ...etc Demons are limited to Arch demons body in physical world. They don't have that restriction in spritual world. Primordials are more powerful than your average awakened demon lord" these demon have there own history and way of doing things that i won't spoil

Couple things that could be spoilers or not. 1st, don’t worry too much about black,(later named Diablo by Rimuru), mans is just a whole simp for Rimuru but he’s a primordial demon, one of the oldest things in the world, there are 6 more primordials and Rimuru summoned one of them. Great Sage is also called Wise One, who evolved into the Lord of Wisodm: Raphael. Raphael was controlling his bodies to bring the souls back which is why his eyes were red, just like when he let great sage autopilot when he was fighting the orc lord. Words of the World and Raphael are two different things. That’s pretty much it for now.

So many dang spoilers up in these comments. lmao. If y'all are gonna talk about the episode then make sure to say things that actually happened in the anime or the same chapters from the Manga/LN. Don't go and start telling people about things that haven't even happened yet. (looking at the one who is talking about Ramiris's servant and "Black" and the ones going super in-depth about the "Primordials"). The following is how you *literally* talk about the episode. Continue reading to see what was cut, skipped over, missed, or part of a side story: 1) Meggido: Great Sage, at the time, ran every single calculation to perfection. It's aim was so perfect that it never once hit a vital organ (LN), so each human basically collapsed and suffered through agony until their deaths. This threw the ones unharmed into absolute chaos since they don't know what happening. This is what leads them to lose their wills. The king and Archbishop did not have their wills. Merciless skipped over them due to RImuru's orders since he wanted them to pay for their crimes against his people. 2) side chapter, soldier: One of the soldiers pleaded for Rimuru to spare his life since he had family back home. Rimuru denied the plead. The soldier then pleaded for Rimuru to spare his family back home. This was accepted. The soldier died seeing, in his perspective, Rimuru not as a vengeful monster, but instead as a heartbroken Goddess. 3) Black + Razen: It actually didn't end with Razen blacking out. It instead ended with Black beating the ever living crap out of him and dragging Razen's body back to the gates of Tempest barely alive. Wolfboy was stationed here where he comments to Black something along the lines of: "This is you going easy on him...?" 4) cut: Ranga was actually stationed to guard the entrance of Tempest along with wolfboy. This was due to no one else knowing that Black and co. where on their way with Razen. Wolfboy wasn't envious of Rimuru. He was actually terrified thinking that Rimuru hid his true "nature" too well. Next one has to do with Myullan and Raphael which was cut. 5) Great Sage/Raphael: Words of the World is not Great Sage/ Raphael. In Dungeons and Dragons terms, Words of the World is the Dungeon Master listening to your pleads. Everyone can hear it. Sadly, the scene where we first hear it is cut. The scene was when Shogo killed the otherworlder. Myullan first comments about something not being right with Rimuru when it's cloaked. a few moments later she realizes that the skill (she doesn't know what it is) is auto-piloting Rimuru's body. Like others have stated above me, You can tell when it's Great Sage, now Raphael, when Rimuru's eyes are red like in season 1... plus Raphael is the only one to start their sentence with "notice" most of the time. The only upgrade that I'm allowed to comment on is that now that Great Sage evolved into Raphael their voice became more fluid and feminine and less siri like bonus: Benimaru simped the crap out of Rimuru/Great Sage at the time before he knocked out. He said something along the lines of: "It's a shame it has no gender". Dude was ready to risk it all lmao

Why is it that when THIS episode came out, people WORLDWIDE decided to spoil everything about the show? Like Jesus Christ, people see Black and lose their minds. Side note: That was Great Sage/Raphael in control of Rimuru. I thought the red eyes were part of his demon transformation too until I thought back. When Rimuru was fighting the Orc Lord and went on auto-pilot with Great Sage, his eyes turned red.

What you come to learn is, Demons that are summoned by powerful individuals are basically simps for their masters. That is if they are strong, and Rimuru is incredibly strong!

if i am remembering right,.. When Geld fought the Otherworlder. They were in a camp where they were guarding one of the barrier crystals. The king is in a Larger camp with the main army force.

After Rimirus Transformation it was "Rafael who was controlling the body", I don't think Rimiru has changed. Black isnt scheming he was just waiting for a strong master to follow..... yea he just ressurected everyone, But i dont think its something he can do "At the ready".......Rimiru's is a whole problem now, thats for sure - cant wait to see how this turn out!

This. Also, the anime skipped this early on in S1, but Rimuru was in that cave for MONTHS, before Great Sage started talking; it took it literally months to ripoff the sound files from the Voice of the World (hence why they sound 100% identical, except once GS evolves into Raphael, the voice sounds less mechanical when comparing Raphael's voice and the Voice of the World echoing outside from that point onward), because it deemed that Rimuru was unlikely to trust info that was simply directly dumped into his head as a data-dump, so it required a UI, and the only equivalent it had access to, was the Voice of the World (which is what is talking to our boi pre-Isekai, when he didn't have Great Sage yet while on Earth)

It's more correct to say that Demons aren't evil, per se. They are closer to Chaotic, in that they 100% obey a strict HIERARCHICAL system, where other Demons would literally tear your ass into pieces if you dissed someone higher up, even slightly. A really extreme and violent form of Royal Court in Humanoid-equivalent terms, rly. But assuming you are strong enough, you can pretty much 100% trust in them keeping their word. Mind you, if you are a weakboi trying to summon a Demon way above your station, the Demon might just fucking merc you and wipe out your entire country for you DARING to do such disrespect to them, by being a bug trying to call like "yo get me some pizza" on someone as high-ranking as them. It's all about the technical specifics and hierarchical utilization, that you can RELATIVELY safely Summon a Demon that is appropriate enough to your own power level, and things will go more or less relatively fine. So they are a weird hybrid of Chaotic, and Lawful Evil, kinda

There are 7 Primordial demons. Each has their own color. Black (Kuro) is the one with the least amount of descendants. They Black demons are different from the other demons. They are much more intellectual. They don't lack in power compared to other demons, they actually tend to be MORE powerful than other demons of the same class.
