Sheera no she/he isn't a stubborn child. He is holding on to his believes which doesn't include a being X (god) and this episode clearly showed the god interfered and forced this situation to Tanya. If you listen to VA she is using very neutral/robotic voice to pray as she isn't really praying just saying the words that is forced on him.

The Military Chronicles of a Little Girl, is the translation of the title. Being a Light Novel, its rather long :D The joke its more defective than a Italian Red Devil, it was a infamous hand grenade that sometimes missfire and explode in the hand of the thrower. In the manga some of the words in the Empire are written in German. Something that never is explained in the Anime, but Tanya has 2 jewels. Type 97, rectangle one. Used for all things magical Type 95, the round one, which she has to pray to to being used. I would love to see your reaction to the ending. Its one of my favorite. If i remember correctly, the art in the ending its from the lightnovel. The endcredit focused on Viktoriya because it should show that the dress is one of her own and that Tanya has not the same proportions.

I wouldn't say Tanya is being disobedient cause why should she worship a being that puts her in a new world just to put her in situations where she's forced to pray to him even though she doesn't want to go against her beliefs. Especially when Being X decides to make things more difficult for her along the way I can understand her resentment towards him.

i mean i do agree with being x is just a cunt but if u think about it, as an omnipotent being that literally controls humanity's rebirth and has the power of multiple worlds, it probably understandable why he feels annoyed that a mere human doesnt acknowledge his existence even tho he blatantly showcased his power right b4 tanyas (previous life) death. human logic of free will doesnt exactly apply to him. besides tanya was also being cheeky in his reply even tho he clearly knows being x has "godlike" powers and just simply refused to admit it. simply put, its two stubborn asses that arent willing to acknowledge one another

You'd think "yeah you sure are strong, but I don't believe you're a hero." Only for them to go "oh, you don't believe I'm a hero? Well let me throw you into life-threatening situations then rescue you from them." I realize the analogy isn't perfect, but I'm trying to portray the flawed logic.

From how I understand it, it's not so much a case of "so and so goes against Tanya's beliefs," because Tanya doesn't have "beliefs" in the theological sense. Rather, it's more along the lines of "this entity is claiming to be 'God' -- an identity that comes loaded with moral obligations -- but this entity is currently failing to meet said responsibility." Being X can try to call itself God all it wants, but when it blatantly comes up short on the preconceived parameters of the title, Tanya cannot accept its declaration. As an example, here is some dialogue from episode 2: "I reject God's existence, from both realistic and rational perspectives. Thinking logically, only God or the devil could exist beyond our knowledge of the world. But hypothetically, if God were to exist, he would never let this absurdity happen." Tanya was referring to the preconceived responsibilities tied to the title of "God." Having not met those responsibilities by "allowing" Tanya's past life to end in such a regrettable way, Tanya rejected Being X's claim. To Tanya, Being X is not God, he's just a pretentious asshole existing outside current understanding.

Yeah and the fact that Being X is trying so hard to convince Tanya to believe that he is God is just reaffirming Tanya's belief about Being X not being God cause based on preconceived notions of God, God wouldn't do the things that Being X is currently doing just to prove a point.

**Clarification / insight** The anime was kind of ambiguous about it, so I can't really say one way or another how they adapted it here... But in the LN, it's not that Tanya has to pray in order to get the Type 95 to work. HOooh no. That wouldn't be a big deal. The reality is much, much worse. In the LN, the second Tanya begins to pour mana into the Type 95, it begins to re-write her brain. To Tanya, it feels like every cell in her body is suddenly screaming to praise the lord. Every time she uses it, she essentially loses her mind. To the point she sometimes experiences memory blackouts. She even has to sometimes take mental time-outs to repeatedly reaffirm and remind herself that she hates Being X. That's why she refers to the Type 95 as "cursed."

2026-10-05 21:00 Gods not trying to kill him. Gods trying to make him a believer. Despite actually meeting God Tanya denies his existence and refuses to believe in him because like he said in last episode his existence is nonsensical to him. The whole point of God is trying to force him into situations to call on him and acknowledge his existence and turn him into a believer. He can only activate his powers by praying to God essentially.

Really? I don't remember this being explained any time in the anime or movie. Before I read the novels, but after the anime and movie released, I saw many novel readers discussing the lack of this explanation, And now that I know, I'm inclined to agree.

She made a proper point tho. There's no way to prove said entity ISN'T a devil, rather than a god. MC pointed out that he would likely be a devil, since he's too shit and can barely even manage a single world of only like 7 billion humans, which a god should easily be able to do, so it's more likely said entity is a devil rather than a god, if he's so shit at power usage/optimization. All 100% logical, when claims don't match w/ reality (self-admitted in this case, as the entity said as much in Episode 2 that mere 7 billion is already beyond their capacity to handle)

tbh it's kinda explained and shown in this very episode. She looks completely out of it when she prays to God as she's falling, and her eyes turn yellow as she flies up, and she has a completely glazed/far-off look in her eye, and then she snaps back to reality and is all "huh what did I... did I just pray?" like she had no control over herself.
