there’s not a single part of it that isn’t sad as hell, and it’s one of the only movies that I think can say that

Daniel NT

Finally seen this. What a movie. It was great. They need to watch your lie in april now. Not been this sad since seen your lie in april. Need more sad anime now.

Daniel NT

Great and sad movie

Daniel NT

This movie got me sad and crying pretty early tbh. Wish I seen it before

Daniel NT

Looks like in not the only one sad from the beginning

Daniel NT

What a great movie. How have I not seen before. Need to see your name now.

earthphoenix7068

I watch this react every once in a while for the rare and elusive Roshi tears.

Dud3 itsj3ff

Man this is like the 6th time I've watched this movie and still just waterfalls... That end scene, where sho decides to let the world in, is so great.

Sasha

Damn, I consider myself roasted reading the caption.

Shawn Oxley

This movie will never fail to make me cry especially in dub, absolutely goated

Chase Daly

I think in Kawai's mind, she didn't take part in the bullying, but in Ishida's mind, she was still participating and wasn't seriously trying to stop Ueno from badmouthing Sahara. I would agree with Ishida though, and Kawai is playing the victim card way too fast for it to feel genuine.

Johnedel Rubinas

The movie: *sweet moment* “Scissor?” I’m dead 😂☠️

Sophie A.

Omg Ueno is the worst. You don't have to like someone to not be a bitch to them, wth.

Whamz Rose

Got something to watch after work 😈. Thank you guys 😘

HollowedSlayer

Guess I'll watch again, tear-ducts should have refilled by now.

Jordan

You‘re a true hero

Jordan

We gotta appreciate these guys fr 😭

Jose silva

So only one UBW Episode this week?

Smash Bran'Discootch

Roshi man, you're doing too much. We appreciate the hell out of you, but dont overwork yourself my guy.

Mozart Waddell

Can't get home fast enough. I'm ready to leave! Thanks for all you do for us Roshi.

Dontae

you guys should react to akame ga kill‼️

kai
>>65102014

right cause the episodes not gone be in order or paired

kizfo

I can't express how much I appreciate all of you

Sera

TheCeoOfAnime

Sucks only one episode of fate but still appreciate it!!! Y’all should react to akame ga kill sometime as well it’s really good

Narutofreak94

Another excuse for me to watch this again~ Absolutely 🥰

Nana

This movie hits every single time. Fuck ueno

sorah

YESSS

sorah

THANKS ROSHI

Sun

Is there going to be one more fate episode?

María

Okay. This movie has been in my to-watch-list for ages, but I'm too coward to watch because I heard there would be major PAIN. But now that you guys are reacting, I have no choice but to finally watch it... Lemme get the tissues ready...

Omar Sahli

react to akame ga kill plss

MM

Fate ubw ep 11 coming?

Ivan Uribe

Yall should read the ending the manga its so different to the movie and it hits the kokoro hard but satisfying.

Mozart Waddell

Just seeing the rare Roshi tears was a treat Jokes aside that bullying montage tore up me as well

E_lincoln

I really wanna see you guys do some straight comedies like "grand blue dreaming" and "kaguya sama"

matchaa

SHEERAAA THESE ARE KIDSS HOW YOU GONNA HIT EM WITH THE SCISSOR?! LOOOOOL that shit had me dying

Sione Ealelei

Fun fact: The Japanese word for moon is "tsuki", pronounced "skee", additionally, the word for "like" in Japanese is "suki", also pronounced "skee". Watashi wa anata suki desu - "I like you", but because obviously of the way she speaks, and how he assumes she would never romantically like him, he confuses it for the moon.

Sione Ealelei

something idk if yall noticed was that throughout the movie they repeatedly show them falling and failing to catch one another, which sub consciously makes you believe that he wont make it when on the balcony

Josh Henriquez

fate ep 11? and dawg this movie man 😭😭

Rafael Mulier

This movie had me trippin on the first watch as wel man, yall should defo watch "I want to eat your pancreas" shit had me leaking😔

Mozart Waddell

Shera was straight gold during this reaction. Especially when she gave him permission to lay hands on Ueno 😂🤣

RavinFox .

This movie had him leaking in no time flat. Like this might be a record! As if we needed more proof their daughters have nice parents ;D

Deku Kana

Rossi crying to early LMFAO in pain

radeb
>>65108211

Grand Blue is god tier comedy, Kaguya is pretty good too

Josiah

I always wonder if they are ever going to explore his sister because her face is never shown in this movie but she is mentioned a lot. and they even show her husband face. I wouldn't be mad if they made another movie with these characters and his sister.

Antares

Kids are unadulterated and are too young to understand things so a lot of the time they end up being some of the rudest creatures without even realizing it because they have yet to learn or feel what empathy is like

Luffy_77
>>65103153

Same!!!! I watches it with my grandma like a few days ago lol

Tierra Gipson

This is movie sucks my tears right out my eyes… (pause) Such an amazing reaction from you guys! I wonder if Lupa has seen it too. Much love ❤️

Luis Morel

You guys should watch i want to eat your pancreas, another anime movie

Kaleb

Yall should watch "I want to ear your pancreas," it's also a really good anime movie that will slap you in the feels

Brittanie Malan

My prediction - Sheera will go full blown Mama voice mad at the kids and she might smear her eye makeup! Thank y'all for this reaction!!!!

Denickart

When they were singing in the choir Shoko started early because Kawai pretended to start singing by moving her lips.

Frank

this ranks top three movie of all time I love it so much

Pocparks

this movie oh god. its weird but i always hated the kawai girl more than ueno, something about her felt super fake especially when she cried

Homeskilletbiscuits

One thing you have to understand is that the movie focuses a lot more on Shouya. They don't show everything the other kids did to bully her and so Shouya's actions seem worse by comparison. For example Kawai- the blonde girl was mouthing the words to trick Shoko into messing up in choir practice. Miyoko got bullied by Kawai and Ueno for trying to be friends with Shoko and had to transfer to a different school.

EFFect_Phantom

I absolutely love this movie, glad to see you guys watch it. I also recommend watching Your Name if you guys haven't already

Pocparks
>>65119005

no yeah shes super fake, she cries to make people feel bad for her so she doesnt have to face any consequences, even in the class ishida wasn’t accusing her of anything he just asked her if she said something to anyone about what happened in grade school and to put the heat off of her she tells the whole school loud as fuck that he bullied nishimiya even though she knows ishida’s been bullied and ostracized for that for 5 years now. Ueno’s a straight up bully but she never tries to act like she isnt, she doesnt hide it or try to act like a better person but stuff like kawai’s crocodile tears can ruin peoples lives just as much. god i forgot how good this movie was, they usually dont show just how bad bystanders are and how much damage they can end up doing too

Mr J

In the manga it's confirmed that they are a couple by the end

Minh Le

Its kinda sick to say it, but I was glad to see you cry Roshi, cuz I believe youve never cried in any anime show even Violet Evergarden, you just sad. Anyway, nice reaction guys, I really really enjoy this movie reaction

Denickart

Kyoto Animation also did Clannad which is the king of sad anime series.

Sunshine Hall

My school made me do the paper cranes thing for a sick kid that Kawai did at the end. Apparently if you make 1000 of them it's a prayer to god to save the person who you're making them for and it originated in japan but I can't remember the specific story. A Sachiko or something like that.

ChaosVesperia

Kawai did do some stuff. Like, during the choir thing, she purposefully breathed in early to get Nishimiya to start singing early and alone, to embarrass her. Plus she laughed along with all the jokes on Nishimiya, and honestly basically encouraged the bullying, more than just sitting there and listening to it I mean. Honestly that entire situation is fucked up. The entire class bullied her in various ways but somehow it's all lumped specifically on the MC. Plus, the teacher clearly knew the entire time the bullying was going on, but didn't care or do anything until the principal strolled in saying there was an issue, and he also kind of participated in it to a slight degree since he didn't try and help Nishimiya learn alternatively and just carried on teaching the class normally, and Ueno had to originally just start helping Nishimiya. And then he heaped all the blame on the MC. Tbh, I think Ueno gets overhated by people that watch this. Like, she was straight up the first one that started helping Nishimiya, writing notes for her as the teacher was refusing to change how he taught despite Nishimiya being deaf, and it was without being told to. However, as time went on, like the entire class was complaining about how they had to keep going out of their way to support Nishimiya, and it wasn't helped when they lost the choir competition, which some blame was laid at Nishimiya, because y'know she can't sing well as shown, so Ueno started getting aggravated since she seemed to be the only one helping Nishimiya with notes all the time, and then you had the teacher tell her to stop reading, but was fine with Nishimiya's reading(which y'know as adults, we get why, since ueno was being a typical kid not trying to do a reading with any form of emotion, and Nishimiya's speech issues can't be helped), but from Ueno's point of view(and the class's) this is just another thing that Nishimiya gets. Then the sign language teacher, saying they should learn sign language because it's easier for Nishimiya instead of writing in her notebook, and Ueno refuses saying it's easier for her to write in the notebook, and it's clear she's been getting aggravated having to constantly help Nishimiya, who also either didn't seem to realize she was causing issues, or was not caring that she was causing any issues, which didn't help the situation. Like, I'm not saying Ueno wasn't a bitch for the things she did, but the adults around didn't help the situation, the other kids didn't help, and Nishimiya herself didn't help, and I'm not saying Ueno doesn't deserve dislike/some hate. The manga probably gives off a better idea of her Point of view than the movie did...

Gennadiy Mishiev

Im still mad he didnt figure out she wasnt talking about the moon (suki) but actually told him she loves (ski) him. I wanted more of that development.

Hide1440

Thank You for the reaction!

MasterDjYeet

I think the little square/ silhouette at the end was kinda representing like the light at the end of the tunnel

Austin S

I personally kinda feel like Ueno wasn't wrong though about how she always just says sorry, I don't know how to fully explain it

Evan Andrews

In Japan up until relatively recently the schools were not required to accommodate deaf students. In fact, most deaf children ended up staying home with their parents. Japanese culture is very collectivist and thus social, so if you are perceived as not being social (not being able to communicate, for instance), your are deemed a blot by the general public. People very much looked down on the handicapped.

Evan Andrews

Also he didn't lie about any of them. They were all eager to laugh at his pranks. They were the ones fueling his bullying.

Matthew Ballard

I loved this movie when I first watched it and it still hit the exact same.

Matthew Ballard

does anyone know where I can watch share your pancreas, your name, and weathering with you? I've tried funimation, Crunchyroll, and Netflix but no luck

R Krow

So no one is gonna mention the dope song by The Who in the opening? 😊

Zaouli HD

Have they ever watched your lie in april?

Lola

I couldn't help but cry again because I remember crying so much when Nishimiya jumped and after because at the time I was watching it for the first time I related so much with that feeling of like feeling bad about ourselves, the movie folded me again

kuroihana

11:42 ladies and gentlemen, we got 'im

Lola
>>65124963

Yeah Kawai and the others were hypocrite lol. As for Ueno, I understand her point of view, what is really bothering me is how she reacted and handled the situation. When she was a child, I understand that she was still young and immature but she grew up and didn't change. Like, I get her frustration, but the physical abuse was too much.

Lola
>>65119005

Yesss omg so true, like why are you crying Kawai?? If she had said that she was scared to be bullied too, I would have get it but it didn't seem like it at all.

Chelle
>>65124963

Uh, I'm pretty sure Nishimiya tried to help (she was literally the one that brought the notebook for the other kids). But there really wasn't much she could do on her own, and everyone got frustrated with her including herself. She always blamed herself for things out of her control but didn't know how to make it better. I 100% blame the adults in this movie, they all failed the kids (except Shoya's mom, I think she did her best).

Halibel

guys have they watched your name.

BoxHead

Bro I would love these anime reacted to [86 EIGHTY-SIX] and [KEMONO JIHEN] THAT WOULD BE COOL 😁

Gustavo

Mineta lmao I never thought of that. Now I can't unsee it..

Nana
>>65125602

Get what u mean but shouko has always felt like a burden to those around her even before she was bullied by the mc and the others hence her always saying sorry it’s essentially ingrained in her personality.

Jake Thompson

The teacher was just as much of a shitbag as all the kids, he let that happen left right and center and didn't do anything till the principal got involved.

Ale

I took my language class for college on ASL and my professor was a deaf person. She explained how hard it is for deaf people to have a place in a hearing world, people don’t want to make an effort to match the person’s needs. At some schools, sign language is banned because they think it’s too distracting for the students around. I assume the problems that deaf people face in America is also the same for the deaf people in Japan.

Slimthe1

It would be cool to get the new Suicide Squad movie reaction

Tabbs

Can someone please explain the light at the end of the movie when Shoya overcame his social issues? I watched this movie 8 times and I still don’t know what it means

Dru1D
>>65136479

If you're talking about the movie, I'm pretty sure they have already seen it before, most likely right when it came out. So there would be no point in doing a reaction

Stig_Ove

Man, this movie is my number one of all animated movies I have seen, most because it hits deep and are very relatable to me. I was bullied a lot when growing up, but I have also been a bully, just to fit in with a gang of people in school. I am 28 now it it still think about the awefull things I said to people back then, and it is almost 20 years ago. Some things will allways stay with you and possibly haunt you long down the road.

Jose silva

And dont forget the teacher either, that teacher is also at fault for not doing anything to stop the bullying. Kawai is the two face bitch that acts inocent. Everyone shares in the blame for the bullying.

Xeno

Watch I want to eat your pancreas next

ChaosVesperia
>>65124963

@Lola true, though, tbf she is still arguably a kid even when she's grown up. she's older, but still a teen and not an adult yet.

lyssa

Seeing them clapped almost made me cri to

AjohnJexy 123

Since there were multiple hearing aids being broken or lost, it must have also been others who broke the hearing aids, but the MC got the entire blame so his mother had to pay for all. So other were faking in front of the principal.

Reborn

You guys need to get Lupa to do a solo react to this film. BTW this studio Kyo ani is my favourite ever, clannad is my absolute favourite anime they have ever done

Ayodele Okunjemiruwa

you guys probably wont read this but Kawai is just as bad as Ueno, she was the actually the first to bully Nishimiya in the scene where the kids were in choir, she was faking singing so that Nishimiya would think it was time to start and that's why she started singing off queue. She never accepted responsibility for anything she did but just kept victimizing herself which is honestly accurate for a lot of women today.

Andy Lewart

Glad yall enjoyed and posted this! I'm not really so hot on the movie, lots of adaptational choices large and small that I found at best odd and at worst frustrating

Friendly Elites

such an amazing movie, it came out when i was going through a really tough time with my own depression so it hit really close to home with a lot of it. And at the end I can't bring myself to hate anyone in the movie. Except the Teacher. Fuck the Teacher.

Hop981

Kyoto Animation notable titles you guys should watch at some point: -Clannad Series (Best romance anime ever made imo) -K-on (Comedy, School life, Music) -Lucky Star (Comedy, Slice of Life) -Kobayashi Maid Dragon (Comedy, Fantasy) -Nichijou (Slice of life, Comedy) -The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya (Movie is incredible, Slice of life, Mystery, Sci-fi, School)

H3ntaiconnoiss3ur
>>65143921

Clannad Miss Kobayashi's Dragon Maid Nichijou: My Ordinary Life Sound! Euphonium Amagi Brilliant Park

Flare

So to answer your question Roshi, the light towards the end is symbolic of a "light ahead of the tunnel", and the two silhouettes you saw were Ishida and Shouko. Having their silhouettes side by side and having them get closer and closer to the light until they finally reach it is like saying they were able to give themselves a reason to live and be happy. That's how I would interpret it

T.J.Adams

I don't know if anyone has mentioned this but the studio for this and Violet Evergarden is actually one of the few studios that actually keep all their work in-house and treat their animators really well. Kyoto Animation is a great example of how a studio can actually treat their employees with respect, pay them well, and put out quality works at the same time. They also do a lot to help new animators. The second season of Dragon Maid that's airing right now, if I remember correctly, is their first show to air since the arson attack on their studio in 2019 that killed 36 people and injured another 33.

Tahti

Now ya'll gotta check these out: Fruits Basket (2019), Wolf Children, Banana Fish, Stars Align and Tokyo Godfathers

Darren Banks
>>65136293

sign language is also banned because testing could never be done with our teacher literally eye hawking the class at all times to catch for cheating.

Darren Banks

the sign Nishimiya did during the bridge meet up scene was "promise". She promised to help him live.

Rosie
>>65146754

I was actually going to recommend Banana Fish after they watch SK8 Infinity, since it's the same creator.

Ayomide Salami

That White T-shirt Gon pillow look kinda saucy.

Alex

Watch “I want to eat your pancreas”

Alex Perez

I think towards the end when it was showing everyone. It was like representing all the friends he’s made and him realizing what he could’ve missed out on. Probably just overjoyed that he’s alive and kept on.

Jazmine Morris

I've seen this movie like twice but Roshi crying made it even sadder holy hell lol

Breezy

So Beyond the Boundary next 🤔🙏

luis delgado
>>65110183

Actualy "like" is pronounced "Su" and "moon" is "tsu" the thing is that shoko coudn't pronounce it well

Breezy

So Your Name then Weathering with You Next 👀🤔🧐🤞🙏

luis delgado

since you want more of KyoAni Clannad should be the next

kay

since you liked A Silent Voice maybe try out Anohana: The Flower We Saw That Day ! It's a short series but it is super good!! I highly recommend it !!

wassa

watch your name and then weathering with you

Natasha Crandall
>>65136866

That was him seeing a way out of the sea of depression and self hatred. It was him finally starting to want to live instead of simply needing to. That scene makes me cry every time.

Vns Tsoom
>>65142135

Yeah, she was also just acting to be cute, kind and honest in front of they guy she likes. Acting to be the always "good" and "right" girl. She never admit anything, and run from the responsibilities of her acts. If you can speak japanese, there are many cultural (differences and stuff), "hidden tone?" vibe in it. But I feel like many people just read the subs and go on.

Luke4003

yeah kyoto animation did a lot of sad things... and kobayashi's dragon maid XD

Lupa is Dadi
>>65144226

it's rare but he has cried multiple times. glad this is going to get added to one of many great reactions

Arc

You see. Once you reach level 100 weeb, you no longer need subtitles.

Vincent Lee
>>65124940

I don't remember the girls name but the there was a little girl dying from cancer so she tried to fold the thousand cranes to wish herself back to health but died before finishing

Crinnit

Holy shit guys, I just found out the author who made A Silent Voice is the author who made To Your Eternity. Now all the tears make sense

Patrik
>>65136866

I'll be blunt here, it's from the manga, there's a whole couple chapters after the end of the movie that didn't get animated. That said, most people's interpretation about it being the light at the end of the tunnel isn't necessarily wrong.

Most Sane Oreimo Fan
>>65164611

I was just about to say that and since they are reacting to To Your Eternity, I hope they’ll see this comment

Scott Riley Adrueno

Clannad is arguably Kyoto Animation's magnum opus. It's a bit long (two seasons with around 20 episodes each) but it's a damn masterpiece, at least in my eyes. And yes, though it may be a slice-of-life comedy show, it's more or less a facade to what the story is really about. You better bring the damn tissues when you do decide to watch it.

Jman1738

I really recommend reading the manga for this movie cuz it gives so such more development to the side characters and the background and makes some of the things that happen in the movie easier to understand plus the ending is different and doesnt just stop at the school festival

SemiThunder

Great reaction to A Silent Voice, some more KyoAni works I'd recommend for you Roshi: K-ON, Clannad, Haruhi Suzumiya, Nichijou, Hyouka, Love Chunibyo & Other Delusions, Sound Euphonium, and Miss Kobayashi's Dragon Maid

Sheraya san

Sub fans turn me off from it. The pretentious superiority is not it at all

Cole M

Loved this reaction, love yall!

Olivia S

I literally cried every 5 minutes when I watched this movie a year ago. This movie was so good but I couldn't watch it again cause it really is hard to watch. However, I loved y'alls reaction to this movie and it was nice watching it all the way through again!

A1_MiLFshAkE

Wow I really should have watched this sooner. Kyoto Animation really got us crying always XD. My tear ducts were leaking when Nishimiya was saying she should kill herself. What an experience

Alex cleveland

Roshi and Sheera crying really made the reaction very hard for me to watch because them MFs also got me tearing up with them😂🤦🏽‍♂️😭. Love the reaction.

Tug

man never seen Roshi cry like this multiple times this movie really hit hard great reaction just as impactful the second time watching

returntolife

for more tears Plastic Memories is just as heartbreaking

Cian Perkins

A couple of things I really liked about this reaction:

Cian Perkins
>>65220151

The initial reaction to Ishida getting the blame from the teacher/principal. Complete opposite to mine. I believe it was Roshi who said something along the lines of, “Ah, now you wanna throw everybody else under the bus?” Whereas I immediately was like, yeah, all these other little assholes totally were a part of this! Where’s their slice of the pie?

Gigi

Grave of fireflies next. 😁

Cian Perkins
>>65220151

I also very much appreciated Sheera’s comment about the catheter. 😂 I don’t know what you guys do in your personal or professional lives, but Sheera’s clearly got some baseline healthcare knowledge. My mom’s a nurse and my immediate reaction to that scene was it broke my immersion because that man was definitely bleeding out of his junk the whole scene on the bridge.

Jay rellim

wait so did nishimiya's mom rip the earring off ishida's mom on some "how you think my daughter felt when your son did this, bitch??" energy?? lowkey i stan

Juice
>>65194702

the previous upload up of this literally had no subtitles. So he had to reupload it with subtitles

Nancy Raha

I think you will like march comes in like a lion, it's really good

returntolife

PAIN. second time watching this and I still cried so much.

S4vageHorseman

first time for me seeing roshi shed tears like that, great reaction guys, really enjoyed it

Kurumi

alright ngl as much of bitch Ueno I love her character more than the others simply because of how honest she is with herself.. literally everyone in that group acted as if they were innocent and played no part.. easily shifting the blame on to one person.. while Ueno at least tried to lessen it and make it seem like it was group thing not just Ishida doing all the bullying. I gotta respect her for that.. jealousy is a dangerous emotion not everyone can handle or even understand

Mikal Adkins

I remember when the trailer was released everybody was so hyped about but I didn't know why untill I watched it myself. This movie really got to me, probably because I know what it feels like to be on the receiving end of being bullied. Watching it stirred up so many emotions that I didn't know how to feel after it ended.

Alvin Smith
>>65275261

Nah being honest about being a douche and hitting someone and constantly being mean to them doesn't give her any points. Them wanting to lie and say they didn't do anything is bad but not as bad since they're good now. She was bad and mean and she's honest about it... but shes still mean.

Rav

MAAAAN ROSHI you cant do this to me. When someone starts crying, i start crying.... man fuck

Big Juls

I really love when you guys react to this kind of stuff. I would love to see how you'd react to Clannad (mainly the 2nd season, Clannad after story) because that show tore me to pieces, just like this movie. But I know the first season is a tad slow so it might not be the best react series lmao

Kurumi
>>65275261

So you're telling me because they are "good" now them neglecting a bullied girl isn't as bad as the bullies themselves lol? Noo bruh they get put in that same category if not worse because they could've stopped it... take the time to ask yourself.. would you rather respect someone who tells you to your face their problem with you or have "friends" who sit back and act like they don't see the mental and physical harm being done to you..and consistently lie about their involvement in it. Btw her beating her up wasn't coming from a place of malice either... the boy she loved almost died saving the person she currently hates most her reaction was natural as can be for a teenage girl..

TheDroppedFry

"The nipples" LMFAOOO Sheera is GOATed

Jadssam Parra

Can’t wait for that your name reaction

Lester Soto

I really recommend the manga for this , it expands so much on this amazing story and explains a lot more

woriwori

again. thankyou for helping me finding precious films

Zeus

What’s up with them not showing ishida’s sister’s face the whole time? Seemed like a weird thing to go out of their way not to show for no reason.

Julian R

Had me crying all over again, hope you guys check out "Your Name" and "Weathering With You."

Beef Gristle Mill

I feel like I should've cried to this cause I'm a pretty emotional person and it doesn't take a lot for me to cry(i still cry at certain scenes in ATLA😖), but I didn't cry at all. There have been scenes in one piece that aren't as sad as this that broke me. But I loved the characters, with some hate toward ueno and kawai, they're little shit heads, i really liked the mineta kid, I think that was giorno's VA, Kensho Ono (who is a very top tier VA btw). Regardless I absolutely loved this movie, it was amazing all the way through.

Daniel Gonzalez
>>65400146

So i actually hate kawai more than Ueno she at least owns up to being a bitch but Kawai never changes at all idk maybe the manga just made her seem worse to me oh and the Teacher is a POS like fuck that guy

Christopher Wagner
>>65400146

honestly started liking ueno like daniel said ueno was atleast trying to change evidence is actually bothering to try to learn sign language kawai i just HATE though she is so fake like you said XD

Beef Gristle Mill
>>65400146

I do give her props for trying to change and be better at the end👏, but it still does change the fact that she was a major bitch all the time and even got physically violent against the poor deaf girl. Yeah and the sign language bit at the end was kinda cute

st

Great reaction, cried all over again. Not sure if anyone's mentioned it, but the paper origami that was given to him near the end is sort of a Japanese superstition where if you can make 1000 paper cranes, then your wish will come true. (For him to recover.)

Didier

When I was a kid (I live on a mostly black island), in my (primary) school there was a dark-skinned black girl who was new to the school. In less than a week, she got bullied by almost the whole school for being darker than the others, the other kids were nicknaming her "Charcoal" and constantly mocking her. Once I stumbled upon her getting splashed by a water-filled balloon and laughed at while trying to go down the stairs. I remember her scared eyes looking for help. I did nothing. I was just a kid, it was the first time I saw someone getting discriminated in my life, so I just couldn't understand what was going on. The day after, she changed school.

Didier

I also remember a little boy who was introduced as a new student into my class. I remember his (step?) father always pampering him in public whenever he got the chance. And the boy was constantly shitting his own pants in class. Once he shitted more than the other days, there was semi-liquid shit all over his seat and I remember his frozen eyes asking me for help. He changed school right after that. Nowadays whenever I think about it, and when I think about the probability of a child shitting oneself on a daily basis, and I remember the unnerving presence of his parent, I can't shake the feeling that this kid was getting fucked in the ass by his own dad. Those didn't look like the eyes of someone who simply had a diarrhea.

Once those tears fell around the 11 min mark confirmed Roshi was gonna get clapped the entire movie. Also can’t believe Sheera managed to get a “scissor” in this fkn film 🤣🤣

this really is the best anime movie i've seen, mainly because it hits a little too close to home but man the animation, music and character development in this film is just incredible it fucks me up every time i watch it though...

Ueno still physically hit once or twice at the ferris wheel without anyone knowing if it wasn't for the little sister innovating on the go. Still sneaky shit, yeah, being passive is not good and all but she did while she was jealous & upset before and angry after the incident. Still a bad streak on my book she is willing to hurt someone knowing that person won't retaliate. In my preference, Kawai is easier to handle while Ueno to me would aggravate the situation, she is honest though. But that is just my opinion.

When you have a daughter you understand that fear hope your daughter doesn’t go thought that kids don’t deserve that but kids can be vile it’s a scary world

I think you guys missed the point about the bully part of the show. Everyone in that class was a participant in the bullying because they didn't stand up to him. Only he though became an outcast and ostracized by his pears.

She didn't hit her... she hit the camera, but still can't relate with her.

Man that teacher was a bitch. You could just see how little he cared about accommodating her and about her getting bullied.
