Epic conclusion! Also can someone explain that ending? is that really Shirou in there?

Comments

Guav

unironically might be my favorite fate series(excluding fgo)

Chris Hee

It's my canon hahaha

mitch anderson

I am here after watching Whispers of Dawn, you guys gotta check it out

Luqha

he is talking about the puppet stuff

Travis James

1:25:15 so y’all just not gonna mention the yams? Now y’all made me feel like the ahole bc that was the first thing I noticed during sakura’s breakdown 🥲

nathaniel dixon

why didnt he use rulebreaker on saber???

zkdglo

I mean, that’s just skipping with extra steps 🌚

Acen Yang

Cuz he had to save his projections, his condition got worse and worse with each one

CrazyZee 2

Does anyone know what site or platform they watched this on?

Meteor

If he had, you lead to one of the Bad Endings because he would not have enough projections to do more later. He had a limited number due to Archer's arm destroying his mind.

The Dude

Ngl I was waiting for it too lol. I expected a “yyyeeaahhhhh”

Rafa

Crunchy

salad

the movies were only recently added to crunchy

del

I’m pretty sure when they watched this these were fansubs

DAAAAMMMNN SAKURA IS A GOATED MAGI. SHE SUSTAINS RIDER AND SHIROU??? HOOLLLLLYY

Brandon (XiiYoru)

to Answer the Final Question. Medusa has a tie in to Perseus who has Pegasus in his Legend, her part in his story is that he cuts her head off to use her gorgon stare to petrify the Kraken in Greek Mythology. Both Medusa and Perseus qualify as Riders due to their connection to this legend. Medusa also qualifies under the Archer, Lancer, and Assassin Roles in Lesser Amounts, due to the nature of her Legend in the area of greece that tells her story.

TyBluewave

As sweet as this payoff is, they sort of sold it a little bit badly. He wants to live to fulfill the promise that he made to go see the flowers with Sakura. He did choose to do something that wasn’t selfless. It is his selfish desire to live so he can go do that. But it’s not that he finally found value in his life, that takes a long time.

TyBluewave

They cut Shirou slapping Illya. Originally whenever he came in through that window, Illya told him to stop being an idiot and leave and a bunch of crap. Shirou just listened until she started talking about how dying to complete the grail was her job, and when she said that he literally slapped her and told her stop talking bullshit and pretending she wasn’t scared. It’s the only time in any of the routes that Shirou slapped or hit anyone outside of actual battles and the only time he was violent towards any of the heroines.

Luqha

Yeah, I somewhat misunderstood, well not just missunderstood but the movies simply explain shirous mental poorly. Since I have read the visual novel and although I still believe shirou has to some extent managed to value his life more, even if just a little you are definitively right. More so about the shift from selflessness to being more selfish than what I previously stated. I still believe this scene was don3 beautifully although it didn't accurately convey what exactly what it was ment too.

Chowder

Kirei had a kid?!

Ember1213

Sadly, Heaven's Feel is probably the one that suffers the most from being in an anime format. I just played the VN version and it's easily my favorite of the three routes

Ember1213

A bit late but essentially, none of the Shirous we see in any of the routes become Archer. We don't really know much about Archer's timeline but it seems to be an altered version of the Fate Route where Shirou fails to save Saber

Ember1213

I'd say that Apocrypha has some pretty solid writing. Seig is a decent protagonist... It's just that when your competition is Shirou and Kiritsugu Emiya, decent doesn't cut it. Amakusa is probably my favorite antagonist so far andtheh do a really good job balancing the screen time of the servants. My only major complaint writing-wise is that the Masters are basically irrelevant to the point that I only remember Seig and Shishigou

salad

no

Url Robbo

“I’m on a horse” lupa is hilarious

Archer

Yeah her name is Caren Hortensia

chris

Kirei truly is my favorite character in this show lol

Rachel Gwinn

bro I pray y'all chec out like fate Babylonia and the fate camelot movie it was so damn good

Asuna

Forgot so much of this ending

TyBluewave

So confidently wrong lol, yes he has a daughter, she is a heroine in the sequel to stay night

dillydally

I love re-watching the Rider v Saber fight so much bc Rider's battle IQ is so good. She really put her everything into it. Using smoke screens, going through obstacles, using the environment, attacking through covers, hit-and-run tactics, only striking once she's hit top speed, distrupting Saber's footing, psychological tactics, hidden weapons, of course mystic eyes for stuns, and then this may be a stretch but I'm sure she let Shiro know her Bellerphon requires her blood. So this leads me to think that her bleeding was both a signal that she was reaching her limit and that she was about to trigger her Noble Phantasm. Just so much respect put on Rider/Medusa!!! She is the hero of the girlie's forced to fight against all odds!!!

Fabien

Idk about the Nasuverse, but in actual greek mythology Perseus isn't Pegasus is any way. Pegasus is born from Medusa's blood, in a way you could say she's his "mother". That's at least the case in most common versions, including Ovid's version (the one which serves as a reference usually).

Fabien

You can't really understand Fate/stay night and Fate/zero with the animes so don't worry. The originals (visual novels and novels) are very lore-heavy and detailed, in a way that a tv series or a movie cannot translate, so it's impossible to really understand everything. Even if Ufotable honestly did a phenomenal job with the adaptations. Well it's been 4 years so you'll probably never read this, but Shirou was simply reincarnated in a new body: Illya's "miracle" was to save Shirou (he was destined to die as soon as he used that arm) by preserving his soul when his body died. Heaven's Feel is the third "true magic", what the 3 families called the "grail" to make other mages fight for it. But it could never grant "any wish", it could only accomplish one miracle, that one. There has been 5 true magic in "history" in the Fate-verse, the Einzbern family once had the third one, Heaven's feel, but lost it for hundreds of years. The grail war, was an attempt to get it back. It finally suceeded here, even if it was destroyed forever afterward.

Jamaal Ellison

Isn't that the spell from Howl's Moving Castle? @1:13:25

Jamaal Ellison

Shirou does the ultimate mannequin challenge.

Jamaal Ellison

Whoever sang the end credits, the music was snapping.

Jamaal Ellison

Been reading the comments explaining how he's alive. As long as he can eat sleep and fuck I'm happy for him.

Krype

I know I’m hella late but this is ufotables best work

J

finally... time for unlimited budget works to shine

Shahrul Nizam

Now I’m waiting for Injustice movie reaction 🥺

Cheshire

They took shirous soul and turned him into a homunculus. Like Ilya

Breezy Kun

Plz I really hope y’all continue with the fate series like Fate/Grand Order or Fate/Apcrypha 🙏

homura

Illya used Heaven's Feel, the third magic, to materialize Shirou's soul. Rin and Sakura kept it, until Aozaki Touko from Kara no Kyoukai - the redhead who walks past Rin and Sakura in the alley - created a puppet body for the soul to be put in. He's not just a puppet, though. He can still eat, shit and feel things. He IS Shirou, in all the ways that matter.

Deshawn Smith

Shirou is on the verge of death, but the Holy Grail still needs to be destroyed. Illya arrives at the scene, wearing the ceremonial Heaven’s Feel dress. She purifies the Great Holy Grail and, using its power, grants Shirou a temporary body (The pendant) while the cavern collapses. Unfortunately, Illya’s conscioussness dissolves into the Great Holy Grail, very much like her ancestor Justizia. Rin and Sakura find a puppet for Shirou’s body and, in a few months, eventually infuse it with Shirou’s soul, which allows him to regain his bodily functions and live as a normal young man The red haired woman at the end is Touko Aozaki. She created the puppet and is from another series called The Garden of Sinners which is also part of the nasuverse. I really think you guys should watch it! It's also done by ufotable and in my opinion, it's their best production and better than Fate for multiple reasons.

Joel Amoa

Girl with the red hair at the end is from Garden of Sinners. Separate movie series set in the fate universe. She’s a top mage at the clock tower who can make human like puppets.

mr nobody

Please watch Fate/Apocrypha

Crinnit

I'm not ready

Infantrymedic11

I believe the ending is that Shirou soul gets saved by Iliya and returned into that doll at the end

Jalen Holmes

Before I watch this, Thank you guys so much for watching fate because these reactions are fantastic! Also as far as I know, they take shirous soul which was in that cage or box and put it into a puppet. The puppet can still do regular human things tho like piss and eat sk basically he just got a body back

Vartic

Ayo nice, quick answer before I watch the reaction. Yes that's Shirou's soul in there, like Illya asked him, "Are you ok with living on, no matter what form you take?". Keep in mind this plot point at the end if you ever watch "Fate/kaleid liner Prisma☆Illya Movie: Sekka no Chikai" (and I recommend you do, since it's another awesome what if scenario).

Jordan G

Hi! Please watch Case files of Lord El Melloi II

Pxssive

Rin really pissed me off this movie with her "oh thats crazy you went thru all that but idc" attitude to Sakura whose been thru the worst thing a women can go thru

mdzepp

bruh i just watched this movie earlier because I thought this would be uploaded late at night. Guess I'll watch it again

Lumi

Nice was waiting on this! Also want to recommend if you liked this movie to watch the movie Fate Oath under snow it is a Kaleido Ilya Spinoff movie although i would like to recommend all the series of it, idk if you would endure the heavy fan service of season 1 (it has 3 or 4 seasons, the fan service stays but the story gets better after each season) so just watching the movie alone works as it is a prequel and iirc no fan service well at least not ecchi cuz there are some cool fights too bad that ufutable didn`t animate it

OhNoRizu

Now watch Nasu best work Kara no Kyoukai.

wavyesper

So uh, grand order? Ik they obviously aren't gonna play the game but I still want to see their reaction to Babylonia anyway, and also first order for knowledge on what grand order is

Jolu

The soul contains the memories, mind, and magic circuits of a person, and it uses the person's body as an anchor to the world to keep from being dispersed and returning to Akasha. Once the brain and body are destroyed, it is impossible to restore a person's dispersed soul, and even the magical ability of the Holy Grail can't restore a destroyed body. Heaven's Feel is a magic that allows for the materialization of the soul. During Heaven's Feel, Illya uses an incomplete version of the Third Magic in order to keep Shirou's soul from dispersing after his body is destroyed. While it manages to save his soul, the new container, which she calls "cheap", cannot be fully reproduced from Illya's body. It is small enough to be "plucked" out of a river by Rider, so they have to take the time to find a suitable puppet body for him instead. In such a case where the soul gains a new anchor to the world, anything with similar properties to a human, such as a puppet body or anything else with a brain, the soul will reshape the body according to its memories. This means that the person is now alive, and that the body will bleed, get sick, age, and eventually die. While the person is completely anchored to the body, the soul is actually controlling the body by "remote control."

kai

How about that Fate Apocrypha next 😁

Polygon

The ending is a bit rushed and is definitely a bit confusing for anime-only's. To oversimplify things, Illya sacrificed herself and used the Third Magic to manifest Shirou's soul from his body since he was about to die from using Archer's arm. Rin and Sakura found his soul and then placed it into that doll, which was actually made by another character in from the Kara no Kyoukai series, which is in the same universe as Fate.

Saba

fate apocrypha ?

VlSch

By the way, you are probably missed that. The dude with the blue hair from the flashback where we saw how grail was created with help of all three families, is Matou Zouken (bug grandpa)

CJ

Saber Alter vs Rider is THE BEST anime fight. Period.

Big Siah

Yes its shirou but it basically his soul put into a super high tier puppet the lady at the end with red hair is from connecting series call kara no kyoukai aka garden of sinners set in the same universe shes a known high class mage puppeteer

Splargle

To clarify on why Rider is still there, they said at the end of Unlimited Blade Works that servants can remain in the world after the grail war so long as they are supplied with mana, as she was never vanquished, sakura can simply just continue to give her mana and she can stay until either sakura dies, this would have happened with Saber in Unlimited Blade Works but she had to use every ounce of mana she had let to destroy the grail, which is why she dissapeared.

AnEnthusiasticKoala

That Rider vs. Saber scene was pure FIRE Edit: Also if you haven't already you guys should definitely do a reaction to the new Dune movie! It's on HBO Max

関口信玄

Sooo hyped to watch this. My #1 favorite anime movie. Rider vs. Saber Alter is my #1 favorite anime fight.

FalkyCorp

You can go straight to 1:13:53 to watch what we've been all waiting for then watch the rest

A

Is Apocrypha left?

MasterDjYeet

Glad so many of us are nasu fans, save me from typing out the explanation 😂 /grand order would be an awesome watch but I feel like they should wait until the second Camelot movie is out online so they can get an even better watch order with First order -> 2 Camelot movies-> Babylonia instead of just doing first order then Babylonia. Apocrypha is always there too tho👀

Ale D. Schuberg

Now that I think about it zouken being in her nervous system means that he was feeling the shits when they fucked, meaning shirou fucked zouken aswell Thas crazy

Normadus

I hope they are going to watch Fate grand order Babylonia too. It was worth to watch it just for Gilgamesh and Old Man of the Mountain !

BZD

Wooooo! Time for the best fight animation in my opinion!

Elfaria

Please check out Fate/Grand Order Babylonia if possible

BZD

Lupa can never go back to old anime hair, he has been ruined by Shirou’s luscious locks.

BZD

I love listening to the Saber vs Rider OST. It’s on spotify if you search Saber Alter vs. Rider

Gabe

everybody is recommending the other fate shows but really the stay night content is the core of the story so idk how the others would do as reaction content

shamefur display

Yeah i wish they had an extended version or an OVA explaining the ending and some other things that were cut or shortened. Still these movies are the pinnacle of animation to me, also sound design, direction and overall atmosphere they create are fkin special.

Daniel

Ending explanation/spoiler: Shirou survives by having his soul infused into a magic puppet.

Rakudai

From everything I've seen, Ill say with certainty that these are one of the best fights ever. Past, present and future. Thanks for the video! Hope you guys cover Fate apocrypha and or babylonia etc.

WillTheGuy

So at that end scene Rin employed a certain mage (the woman who they passed by) who makes the best magic mannequins. (which are basically human and can age, get hurt and get sick) One of the effects of the Third Magic, Heaven's Feel , is the materialization of the soul. Shirou's body got destroyed, but Heavens Feel literally put his soul in a container. Sakura and Rin put Shirou's soul in the Mannequins body. So yeah. That's 100 percent Shirou.

WillTheGuy

Side note : Fate shit can be confusing and both the series and the movies left some exposition out, so it might be good to search up lore or play the original Visual Novel. Also, I hope you watch Kara no Kyoukai and other Fate works soon in the future.

Kristen

A few things the movie removed for animeonlys: Shirou's memory loss after he uses the arm for the first time, he skips like hours and days, forgets names more. Kirei tells shirou even if he doesnt do magic ever again, the arm is like a time bomb for this to happen anyway, and can use like 3 times at max. Illya and Shirou would hang out enough to justify another movie, so the ending doesn't hit as hard (also if you didn't watch zero first, the older sister thing is a big reveal). The blue hair guy in flashbacks is younger zouken if it's not clear too

Crinnit

Riders are the fastest of the servant classes and needless to say Medusa is one of the fastest Riders, it really shows in this amazing fight. 10/10 trilogy, sad it's over. Funny how you guys are watching 2 of the best anime trilogies out there at the same time lol

関口信玄

Lupa getting clapped constantly this time lmao

Cactuzz

Agreed on Kara no kyoukai it’s my favourite nasuverse product too and by a decent margin

Jose Mena

folks if you want to understand more of the ending and what happend to shiro you should watch Kara no Kyoukai. Same universse as fate like the marvel universe.

Rxonas

If you still fuck with Fate and want more you could watch Apocrypha or Fate/Grand Order - Absolute Demonic Front: Babylonia series. I personally think that out of these two Babylonia is better and it came out in 2019-2020 so it's pretty new too. Both had really good soundtracks and animation too but obviously they aren't quite on the level of these three main routes plot wise (they are still solid series). Still maybe worth the watch and reaction at some point if you really want to see more Fate and new characters in different setting. Thank you for your reactions to Fate, they were awesome.

gaelthras

yo you guys, amazing moment i had watching this reaction! A few things to precise what you didn't understand: 1) as many people said , it is the real shirou. Remember , Illya said that the goal of the grail was to achieve "heaven's feel", a magic able to transcend humanity and "materialize the soul". Shirou's body was too damaged from using Archer's arm so Illya saved him by using an incomplete version of that and saving his soul by materializing it using rin's pendant. Then , Sakura and Rin put his soul in the manequin, made by another character made from the extended fate-verse ( also called the nasuverse). Since in fate world, the soul has all the information about someone, including biological traits and their magic , the manequin litterally "became" shirou, as in a new, biological and completely alive Shirou that can live as a perfectly normal human ( and yes, sakura can still get the D and have a lot of children with "this" Shirou) Second, for why Shirou did get f-ed the more he used Archer's arm is because, why they basically were the same person , Archer isn't alive anymore. As a servant he is an untirely spiritual existence, not biological. Add to that the fact that Archer is infinitely more powerful than shirou , the fact that everytime shirou's using Archer's power , he's manifesting Archer's reality marble and quite litterally becomes his mantra : " I am the bone of my sword" , or a more litteral translation " my body is made of blades". Since this Shirou never developped his own version of unlimited blade works ( the reality marble , not the series) he was progressively overwhelmed by the reality marble. Something that is not heavily emphasized in the anime is that Reality Marble are not just some pocket dimension that you can summon when you did , but litterally a state of mind and body, manifesting itself constantly. Shirou having never reached that state but constantly being exposed to it everytime he used Archer's power led to the result we all saw. Third, for the Shirou vs Berserker fight. By using Archer's power for the first time, Shirou started the process of being overwhelmed by Archer, which led to his spirit starting to crumble and being summoned into the "unlimited blade works" realm. In the original material, Shirou's mind world and powers are described similarily to a program , that's also why he often says short commands similar to a program like " trace on" , or "projection started" "set" etc... everytime he uses his powers. Being overwhelmed by Archer was kinda like being invaded by a virus , hence the glitchy subtitiles to emphasize that. That's also why it seems like it he jumped from a cliff , because it all happened in his mind. For the gun part, in fate universe, you need a mental image to activate and use your magic. Shirou randomly chose the image of loading a gun as the image to activate and prepare his magic and the image of shooting said gun to materialize and propel his swords. By removing the trigger or "Trigger off" he basically removes his limiter that prevents him from projecting the more powerfull weapons such as noble phantasms , weapons that would damage or even kill him. By removing his limiter, he was able to project Berserker's Noble Phantasm " Nine Lives" which is the weapon he used to killed the Nine headed Hydra in one blow; by litterally hitting 9 times in one blow; which was the best weapon to use against Berserker since he had nine lives left ( he lost 3 against Saber and was immediately absorbed, never able to regenerate them). Keep up the good work and i hope you continue with the Fate Franchise. If you to see a video closer to the original source material , try this : https://www.reddit.com/r/fatestaynight/comments/muqc9i/shirou_vs_berserker_vn_and_anime_version_combined/ And if you want to understand more about Fate lore and the paralel universes , i also suggest trying out ( and maybe even reacting to) Gigguk's videos on the subject. Peace!

Gustavo Martínez

Best 10 dollars of my life. Great reaction as always

Kalf97

I don't know if anyone has said this yet but fun fact heavens feel is the name of the magic illya used on shirou at the end. essentially in this universe souls degrade over time ( that's why zouken is fucked up) and heavens feel materializes the soul and stops the degrading. its essentially true immortality. (although a incomplete form was used on shirou so he's not immortal)

MWS

i love how rin was better written even in Sakuras route

Kharokit

Young woman gets pregnant and wishes to have an abortion. Local priest intervenes and gets into fist fight with her boyfriend.

Most Sane Oreimo Fan

Here’s a short explanation to the ending and it’s connection to Nasuverse (Tsukihime and Gardens of Sinner). The ending part where they went into an alleyway was owned by one of the main characters of Gardens of Sinner that specialises in mannequins where a soul can fit in. Won’t say anything about how or why since that might spoil you if you intend to what happened the 8 movies of Garden of Sinners. They were only able to do those things thanks to Illya achieving to grab the root of Akasha which is a way for them to be able to use True Magic. So basically, all magic you see on this series used by Magus are called magecraft and just basically a cheap imitation of real magic which is able to do things such as retrieving a soul and putting it into an empty shell like a specialised mannequin. It all comes down to Type-Moon and Nasuverse lore about magic so to get full explanation how they were able to do that, go give Gardens of Sinners a watch. Also made by ufotable

HopelesslyImmersed

Yooo I almost fell out of my seat laughing when Sakura unloaded all her emotional trauma at Rin, and then Rin responded with the "Okay? That really sucks, but so what?" Fucking savage xD I know its an unpopular opinion given how many Sakura simps there are (put your pitchforks down u savages) but being a victim doesnt excuse all the horrible things she willingly went along with. At the point were she killed Gilgamesh she should have known she was strong enough to oppose her abusers, yet she kept inflicting pain. Her reasoning? Oh if I suffered then everyone else should suffer too. Glad Rin and Shirou were able to save her, but I can't believe she didnt get punished for any of her bs

beelzebub

I think they crossed over with the "Kara no kyoukai" world in this movie. I'm pretty sure they put his spirit in a doll.

Nicarous

The whole Rider having a pegasus has to do with her greek legend where after Medusa was beheaded by the hero Perseus, a pegasus was born from the blood in her neck. It's a small detail that is easy to miss, but in the fight with Rider and Saber, you can kind of see Rider cut her neck to draw blood right before she activates her noble phantasm.

Leon

I don’t mind em skipping all other fate stuff but I hope to see you guys react to Fate Apocrypha someday lol

Redemiya

So no more Fate/ stuff from you guys?

Viela Guay

Shirou's spirit gets put in a doll in a bad end for the Fate route at least once lol. Also the Garden of Sinner's world is the fate world, just occasionally segmented into different timelines (much like how the various routes of Fate are all canonical and there's even the "Archer" timeline). There's references you can find all over the place that connect them. If you're referring to the Zelretch stuff, then yeah he's mister dimension hopping so anything tied to him is going to behave in a similar way

coi2cute

Here before Reign

shamefur display

She was being punished her whole life, what else you wanna do lol? I agree with suffering not being an excuse, but it's not that simple here at all. If a person is conditioned to do something from early childhood, way before people expect responsibility, is it this person's responsibility to grow into someone sane? Then let's add a grandpa implanting himself into her nervous system to steer her psyche. Then a brother whose sole purpose was to torture her to a point of no return. Then a literal incarnation of evil taking over every time her consciousness is weak. Do we need to mention bugs? Call me a simp but it's pretty damn admirable how much Sakura managed to keep it together all things considered, even strived to be good and held no grudges against her family for abandoning her. To me it's the opposite, i see everyone simping for Rin but she comes off as a total cold bitch here.

関口信玄

And thereby further solidifying Rider Medusa's status as a waifu.

Viela Guay

Alright, now it's Fate spin off series time lol. Also, something that could be fun is doing a VN playthrough stream (blur the screen at certain scenes obviously though lol) to catch up on things missed, experience the Fate Route, and potentially delve into the "sequel" of FSN, Hollow Atarxia

関口信玄

I just saw a couple episodes of Garden of Sinners the other day, so I understood it a bit better this time. Also I had a friend explain it to me. I'm usually pretty good at understanding shit, but that one got me at first lol.

Cancel

So like many people have said, that is a 100% authentic functional Shirou. Remember how Illya said the true goal of the holy grail war is the magic "Heaven's Feel," which materializes the soul. So essentially, since the grail was actually completed this time with seven servants (Gil instead of Rider), Illya was able to use the magic to materialize Shirou's soul, preserving it (that's what was in the cage). Then all they had to do was find a body. The lady Roshi said "looked important" is essentially the best puppet maker mage in the world (I think), and they managed to get one from her, which they then put Shirou's soul into. So brand new Shirou. Also about Rider, it's a bit different than Gilgamesh's case I believe. Basically, Sakura still has a connection to the greater grail, which means she has near infinite mana, and that allows her to just keep sustaining Rider in the world (because why not right?).

David

long story short they had the best dollmaker in the Fate verse create a new body for Shirou then put his soul in it. the new body can bleed and catch cold just like his old one.

Troy Parker

Y'all should watch Fate/Apocrypha

関口信玄

So, at least some point down the line, doesn't have to be the next thing, but eventually it would be awesome if you guys could react to at least a few of the other Fate series and spinoffs. Namely Apocrypha, Grand Order, and Case Files of Lord El Melloi (which is actually tied directly to Fate/Zero).

Senpai

Shiro at the end of this movie: Help... I'm a whole Mokujin!

Giyuu

Should they though?

Troy Parker

But only for the fights at least

Melvin

PLEASEE PLEASEE watch fate/ grand order babylonia demonic front or/and fate Apocrypha !!

Omari

Yall should watch Fate/Kaleid liner Prisma Illya: Vow in the Snow movie

BZD

So at the end Illya asked if Shirou would be alright with living in a different form. Remember they explained that the Heaven’s Feel magic is the materialization of the soul, and then Illya said she would show Shirou a miracle, true magic. So what she did was use the grail to materialize Shirou’s soul, with help from the mana from Rin’s gem. It also sort of combined Archer’s arm with Shirou, so Shirou has all of the knowledge of Archer’s UBW. Anyway, after his soul was materialized Rider found it and brought it back. Rin then spent a while tracking down a mage who made “puppet” bodies, I put puppet in quotation marks, because it was basically a humunculos with no soul, they then put Shirou’s soul into the body. And since in Fate, the soul shapes the body, it then took on Shirou’s features so it would look like him. All in all, it’s the real him. If you wanna see a weird alternate version of the ending there is this pretty funny fan made comic called Heaven’s Failure.

BZD

At the end Shirou was keeping his promise to Sakura, she said in movie 2 that she wanted to see the cherry blossoms.

Jalen Holmes

Also for rider to be able to stay after the war she just has to get a supply of mana continually so she wont fade

BZD

Rider is still around because Sakura now has tons of mana, since it isn’t being used by Zouken. Remember Rin offered to make a contract with EMIYA at the end of UBW, which would let him stick around, but he declined. So Rider is just being fully supported by Sakura.

Tempest1395

I GREATLY appreciate you referencing Metal Gear Solid lol I’m a new member to the Patreon fam, love the content guys!

BZD

There is one more Shirou grail war, excluding the Fate Route, and its part of the Fate Kaleid magical girl series. But there is a section where we just get to watch the most bad@$$ Shirou fight a grail war. I highly recommend checking out that section at minimum. I’d love to see you react to it. It’s called Fate/kaleid liner Prisma Illya: Vow in the Snow (movie) but don’t worry, it can be watched purely as a stand-alone.

BZD

The reason Rider had a Pegasus, is because in mythology Medusa was the mother of Pegasus.

BZD

Also Rin offered EMIYA the option, but he declined.

Kevon, The Lord of Slimes

Medusa's connection to pegasus is because in some versions of her myth Pegasus is the child between her and Posiden, it also sometimes is born from her neck when Persuses cuts off her head.

BZD

Noooooo

BZD

Hope they watch: Fate/kaleid liner Prisma Illya: Vow in the Snow (movie)

NecDW4

Time for CARNIVAL PHANTASM!

Riku

fun fact, in green mythology, the Pegasus was born from medusa’s blood which is why it’s her noble phantasm aka why she’s a rider class :)

Nana

Yh rewatching this just re confirmed why the is definitely my favourite route. Thanks for the reactions.

Jolu

That reddit video makes it better since in the visual novel all the anticipation is what makes this scene so good.

Jeffrey Siu

Bro they turned shirou into a destiny guardian i'm dead

David

also fun fact in the source material Shirou landed exactly ZERO hits on Kotomine. Kotomine lost because his heart finally gave out

HaruhiDream

Riders mount is actually her chains. Bellerophon was a Greek hero who was best friends with Pegasus. Her Noble Phantasm is the name of the Reins she summons and the pegusus symbolizes the relationship between the two. Rider was originally supposed to be Perseus but they didn't have enough female characters at the time for the game. They changed Rider to Medusa because she's has closest connection to Pegasus out of the female heroines. Pegasus was born from the blood of Medusa after she was killed.

David

Rider got to stay because they made a new contract with her before she vanished. as long as your servant doesnt die you can do that

Mikal Adkins

Can Archer recreate Rule Breaker like Shirou did?

None None

I encourage anyone who liked Fate/Stay Night to look up a copy of Fate/Hollow Ataraxia. It's one of my favorite things in the entire franchise, but I don't see it ever getting animated. It's basically the author giving himself one last chance to do everything he couldn't do in the main story, with a REALLY good central plot acting as a framing device. You can tell it was written to be a final piece of closure for Fate as a whole. (before it expanded into a gigantic multi-billion dollar franchise)

HaL

There are three route of Fate/stay night. I think you should see the 2006 version of Fate/stay night the fate route to complete the whole series. or wait to see if it's remake.

関口信玄

Oh shit, I didn't know that. I know at least a fair amount of basic Greek mythology, but definitely didn't know that much about Medusa, and the concept behind Rider Medusa. Very cool.

Trinares

My favorite set of reactions. Glad y'all enjoyed it. There's gonna be others explaining the minutia so I ain't gonna bother. Just saying it's smart to call it here for Fate reactions. The other shows can be fun but this story has alway been the heart of Fate.

Chinese Cartoons

"She looks important!" - haha, watch Kara no Kyoukai please! It's a series of films by same same author as Fate and has some ties. It's also the series that put ufotable on the map.

関口信玄

This trilogy really made me fall in love with Medusa as a character, Servant, and waifu. I mean, granted, I saw a tiny bit of the original FSN by Deen, so I already knew a little about her from that (and the internet). Also the little we saw of her in UBW was epic and thicc af (I was really upset when she was done dirty), and then she pops off in Heaven's Feel. And then seeing her in casual clothes with glasses at the end? *chef's kiss*

Gilly

They actually do mention what happened earlier in the movie but it can be very easily missed with no context. So what happened was, Illya granted Shirou’s wish to live by using Heaven’s Feel (the third magic), to materialise Shirou’s Soul (which is what the glowing thing in the cage was) and placed it into a special puppet body that was made by that woman Roshi said “you look important” to. When Shirou’s Soul entered the body it basically took on his proper form into a genuine body. She’s a character from the creator of Fate’s (Kinoko Nasu) other works since everything he writes seems to have loose connections to each other. To be honest I think this route, Heaven’ Feel, is best enjoyed by reading the Visual Novel first and then watching the movies (or any of the anime tbh) cuz the route is like a 40hr read and they had to trim it down a LOT to fit it into 3 movies. Regardless though, this was a fun journey and I’m glad you guys enjoyed it. I do hope you’ll consider checking out some of the other works in the Fate series like Apocrypha, Grand Order or El Melloi Case Files if you want to. They don’t have any direct connection to Zero or UBW/HF so you don’t have to worry about watch order any more at this point. The magical girl show (Kaleid) is also pretty dope but due to some of the content it’s *very* hard to recommend to people, just know it gets better and better as it goes on.

関口信玄

LOL. I half agree with you. XD

関口信玄

Probably my favorite track from the movies.

Thamor

Wow this and all 3 movies are so beautiful in animation. Unlimited Budget Works never fails to amaze, that fight with Saber and Rider has to be best fight scene animated ever. Why did the subs say Makiri when it was always Matou the family name.

galvind97

if you guys want to watch something that is not fate (in which you say you would only watch the main story) then I would recommend Kara no Kyoukai it's very dialogue heavy and it reminds me of the monogatari series, if you want to know more about the universe and what happened in the ending of Heaven's Feel about shirou and that puppet.

不死鳥

Also from what I quickly read you didn't explain to them why rider stayed, I'm not too keen on the details but it's related to Sakura still being linked to the "other side" due to having been a vessel, so she has a near infinite (if not infinite, not sure) mana supply, so she uses that to maintain Rider in the world, different from Gilgamesh who got a physical body but was supplied souls by Kirei for mana.

BZD

But Oath under Snow is amazing. And tbh, they could have benefited from having one more movie to tell the Heaven’s Feel route.

BZD

Did the show ever explain that Shirou is able to recreate the skills of a weapons user? I know they’ve seen that he could recreate Archer’s, but some people may have written that off as a future and past self thing. I think nine lives blade works was the only time they’ve seen him recreate the skills of someone other than his future self.

eastbaynick

They showed that puppeteer chick didn't they? In the alleyway or am I tripping

ATPR

Fate stuff that's atleast worth checking: Lord El Melloi Case Files Fate/Apocrypha Fate/Kaleid(manga is better tho) Fate/Grand Order Babylonia(if you like Gilgamesh)

BZD

Every time he used the arm it would erase his memories and start killing him. In case that wasn’t clear. Oh and even just having it attached to him left Shirou in constant pain.

Nana

Kirei, doflamingo and ogata are three despicable niggas I can’t help but love.

triple

fucken loved it

None None

The thing Shirou killed Heracles with was the move Heracles used to kill all of the hydra's heads at once in (Fate's version of) his legend. That's why each hit kills multiple times. The anime actually made it way clearer than the original VN by showing the flashes of Heracles killing the hydra in the buildup. (it's also one of the MANY cool things Heracles could do himself it they didn't gimp him by summoning him into the raw strength only class)

不死鳥

I think apocrypha is a banger, they really should watch it if they want more fate

Yehaen

You should watch Lord El-Melloi II's Case Files and Fate/Apocrypha

HopelesslyImmersed

Ya'll simps forgive too easily lol, you got a whole murderer on your hands and you wanna forgive her with no string attached because she suffered as a kid and is sorry after the fact? If only the real life was that simple xD Nah, she killed innocent people, she got the power to stop her abusers and what does she do? Kill them, fantastic, they really deserved that. What else? Oh yeah instead of stopping she got power hungry and wanted to destroy the world so everyone would suffer like her. Make everyone feel as pathetic as she did. Whole ass villain. But hey, she's packin them big oppai and the tragic backstory, so its okay in your book. I get it.

BZD

Just in case you wanted to know: Shirou’s last projection was going to be Excalibur. There is a bad ending where he does exactly that, he projects Excalibur, uses it, and then dies.

Nana

Ngl I was thought exactly the same thing u did nigga was gross

Nana

Has it ever occurred to you that people do not excuse her but simply decide not to be obtuse and understand why she even came to have the mindset she did here? Idk IMO her living knowing what she did and what she caused is enough punishment cause that shit is heavy. Calling people simps is dumb asf stop the edgy shit and realise her appearance means nothing here people just have compassion for her and her story simple as that. You act like she actually destroyed the world and ate people completely willingly.

Nana

It’s a miracle Sakura held on as long as she did Imo anyone could of burst way sooner considering all the factors of the situation. Also i think rin only acted like that so she could kill Sakura without worries I think she knew that mindset wasn’t a good one but idk.

sempiternal

only for best girl astolfo

Noinim

For the explanation about what happened to Shirou. There's missing context unless you watched more from the Kara no Kyoukai series and other Nasuverse stuff. Basically.. (Copy pasted from reddit comment)

Stephen Delong

If yall don't watch Grand order i'ma cry😭 atleast watch Apochrypha

Re_Slayer

Its shirou but in a fake body. Basically the same thing from castlevania. Also if you guys decide to continue fate you should give fate/apocrypha a try its got plenty of fights an a decent story with it. Whatever ya'll decide to watch i cant wait to see it.

Darren Banks

Great reaction... Lupa's freak outs and confusion, Sheera throwing out 100 reaches.... It's the Fate way! Happy you guys reacted to these two routes. Fate is one of my favorite things to rewatch. Monogatari time!

beelzebub

idk she's seems pretty happy after the fact and it doesn't really seem like she cares. The only reason I'm willing to forgive her is because it seems like she wasn't conscience when she was killing innocent people. I don't blame her for her attitude at the end though because of what her grandpa and Shinji did to her, because she is pretty much a child in my eyes. I can forgive her for her attitude towards the end. The only real villain in this story is Shinji imo, that man spawned from the trash.

beelzebub

No wonder Grandpa didn't care about Shinji, man literally on demon time. Gave his grandpa the business.

Thamor

What are you counting as the other trilogy? If fate was one?

Crinnit

The other one is Kizumonogatari, Roshi and Sheera just started it

Thamor

It's not 100% Shirou, it's a 2nd body made from from a mannequin. He is Shirou, but he isn't 100% the same.

Viela Guay

Nope. One of the huge problems with the adaptations of Fate so far honestly since it really gives Shirou this "mary sue" feeling to a lot of anime only's (also the fact anime only's never have to deal with the like billion fuckups shirou has in the game)

Viela Guay

Yeah his final line here makes little sense with the context since it really seems like Kotomine just got punched to death which does not match his dri-fit presence

Thamor

Think you didn't understand that was psychological wake up for Sakura. I don't see Rin meaning any of those words, but she was saying it to wake up Sakura from her self ranting. If Rin had really meant what she said why would she sacrifice herself. It's not like she could have made Sakura understand anything if she had started to sympathize with her in that moment.

Thamor

Yes, 86 or Faraway Paladin waiting for those.

BruLee Arts

Fate/Apocrypha next for best boi Karna and Moedred.

Pxssive

Nope thats aint true bro. In the virtual novel after Rin says all that Sakura throws her ass in the muddy world and let her experience all the pain and torment she went thru, and guess what? Rin broke IMMEDIATELY after preaching all that BS to Sakura.

zanderbander

Ending Explained: The red haired person they passed in the alley is a puppet master from another Ufotable series called Garden of Sinners. She used her magecraft to create of puppet/homunculus body for Sakura and Rin to implement Shirou's soul into. So he's technically alive, since he has a soul, but not a heart. Pretty much the "soul" was like the catalysts that Masters use to summon specific Heroic Spirits.

DamnBust

So, basically at the end of the movie Shirou's original body was destroyed. Illya used an incomplete version of the Third Magic in order to keep his soul from dispersing after the body was destroyed. After some time he gained a new body from the puppet master. The new body retains all human functions and he still got his soul, so technically it's original Shirou at the end, just with a different vessel. Btw, just a suggestion, but if you feel like it check out Fate/Apocrypha or Kara no Kyokai they're really great works too. The puppet master in HF is from Kara no Kyoukai. Whereas Apocrypha happens in a parallel universe to Fate/stay night with different characters and adds quite a bit to the lore. They're all from Nasuverse and are interconnected.

HopelesslyImmersed

Ok how about Sakura apologists(not simps) are too forgiving. I feel bad for Sakura too, but that doesn't excuse what she did at all. Just because some people hurt you doesn't give you the ok to take it out on everyone else, its psychotic. If every murderer or killer said they regretted doing what they did AFTER the fact, would we forgive them and let them go around without punishment? No, them being sorry doesnt magically fix anything people still died at their hand. Ya'll act like the shadow manipulated her all along. No she was aware of what was happening, she just deluded herself into thinking of things like a cute dream. Otherwise she would be freaking out every time she "came to". Yet she didnt :o, she even asked Shiro if he would forgive her if she did something "bad". She just got tired of being abused and took action, but only after realizing she had the POWAAAAAAH. But did she stop there? No. Whole. Ass. Villain.

beelzebub

There are kids that are excused for their crimes and have their records cleaned when they become adults depending on the circumstances involving the crime. I think that logic can be applied here.

SolarPaul

So glad to see you guys finish all of Fate! It was an awesome reaction. Like others have said I would suggest Apocrypha if you wanna continue the series, it's a really good stand alone Fate spin off

oOxReConxOo

I hope they do the other fate shows.

GIGAZOOMER

Apocrypha is really fun guys. I always thought the story in fate was secondary to the visual spectacle, and Apocrypha has some of the best fight choreography in the series.

AzureSiegfried

Kirei is such a piece of shit but I love his character lmao

alonso616

one of my favorite parts of all the fate reactions is lupa's obsession with shirou's hair

Ace X

Only the first route does that.

Near

Uhh, wait. Fate ain't "over" though, there's still Grand Order. But ya this chapter of it is indeed over. In fact, do check Fate Babylon, there's lots of good stuff in there, lore-wise too for all that matters.

Nana

My thing is your making it seem like she had more agency than she actually did.We already know she was not only under zoukens influence but also the shadows who was a literal being of hatred. She didn’t purposely eat people if you think she did u misunderstood greatly. She was constantly battling being fully controlled by the shadow and only realised what she had been doing (eating people)when it was too late. If Sakura was how you make her out to be she would of went to the matous house with the intention to kill shinji and zouks yet as we saw when shinji died she didn’t even kill him purposely but from the shadow an accident which even made her lose control and be consumed by the shadow from the guilt. Guess my whole point is if Sakura was as in control as you make out things wouldn’t of got this far.

sincity

Sakura literally enjoying shirou's morning wood

Daud

there's actually one more route called fate route which is shirou and saber route basically, but it has no ufotable anime yet, there's an old anime from deen studio but it's not that great. fate/apocrypha would be great next show, story is not heaven's feels tier but the fights are pretty great

Cleven Anthony

So I’m sorry if this spoils anything at all and I’ll delete it right away. But I coulda sworn there was a movie where shirou as like a fusion of himself and archer was a one man army fighting multiple “enemies” let’s say, anyone know what that is ?

Bully Finch

Do you remember some parts of the name that sounds cool

Night Shade929

How does he still do all of those things? I thought he’d literally be a soul stuck inside a wooden puppet, and like, if he cuts himself or something does he bleed? If he had surgery does he just also have all the organs and stuff? How? That tripped me up so bad.

None None

That was Oath Under Snow. It's part of a silly spin-off called Prisma Illya about Illya having magical girl adventures. Then it ramps right the fuck up in later seasons and you start getting stuff like that movie.

Ale

Shiro ‘I’m only bones’ Shiro a movie later ‘I’m only swords’ Shiro at the end ‘I’m only wood’

Vinny Deluca

At the end Shirou and Kirei didnt make contact, Zouken (The only master other than Shirou) killed himself by jumping into the Lava, so at that moment Shirou became the final master and won the grail making it a loss for Kirei then and there so he let shirou do his thing as the victor

Vinny Deluca

Basically shirou turned into Alphonse from FMAB

Liliana

Definitely. Babylonia is a flawed adaptation and not anywhere as good as the ufotable stuff. But it's still really, really good and I'd like to see their opinions on that version of Gil.

Liliana

If y'all are open to more Fate, there are some spin-offs (alternate timelines) that might be worth watching. None are as good as the Zero, UBW, or Heaven's Feel, but Fate Grand Order Babylonia has a solid story with some nice fights and a familiar character explored in a totally different context, Fate Apocrypha has a so-so story but some reeeaaaally cool fights, and Lord El Melloi Case Files is a spin-off all about Waver that's a totally different vibe than other Fate stuff but good and interesting in its own way.

Liliana

Yeees to El Melloi. Idk if they'd be into it 'cause it's a totally different vibe, but I really enjoyed it.

Liliana

He can project any weapon he's seen the original of. Since he saw Rule Breaker during the Holy Grail War, he'd be able to yeah.

Liliana

All routes are Rin routes.

yoshi

Btw just in case you didnt catch it, the blue haired guy they showed as the Makiri/Matou was Zouken when he was younger

Gabriel Garcia

Usually no BUT this puppet master is so dam good at her job her puppets are 1 for 1 replicas of a human body

2489

Yes I wanna add on to continuing to watch Kara no Kyoukai (Garden of Sinners) after this. It was these movies that really put Ufotable on the map of top tier animation. The saber vs rider fight here was just fucking beautiful. I rly wish I had the chance to see that in theaters.

Mikon

I SECOND KARA NO KYOUKAI!!

BZD

Lupa called the wrong person Sasuke. If anyone’s Sasuke it’s Shirou: entire family was tragically killed, giving them some sort of PTSD, has the ability to copy others, and has the same Voice Actor.

BZD

Archer smiling during the Nine Lives Blade Works scene was because he approved of the route Shirou was going on, that he decided to give up on being a hero of justice.

BZD

I just want to point out that Archer never had a problem with Shirou taking Sakura’s route, in fact he was probably glad that was the case. Sheera seemed to assume that Archer was emphasizing Shirou hold onto Illya’s hand over Sakura’s, that was not the point. Archer was telling Shirou that he better keep prioritizing the one over the many. Because if Shirou prioritized the many over the one, then that would take him down a path similar to Archers. Out of all the Routes, this one is where Shirou ends up furthest away from Archers own path. While the Fate Route is the closest, and UBW is close yet Shirou doesn’t make the same decision as Archer did, to sell his posthumous self to Alaya.

Mikal Adkins

I was curious because we only ever see Archer use those two blades and his bow. We never see him using someone's else weapon to fuck them up like Shirou did with Berserker.

Agendo

Can't wait to see Balmung spam again..

HopelesslyImmersed

Lmao, ok so I just wanna point out how on my original comment I stated having an unpopular opinion about how Sakura simps forgive her for all the fucked up stuff she did and her getting away from all her wrong doings with 0 repercussions to her actions. And what happened? I got a couple of apologists trying to convince me she's not that bad and should be forgiven. Thats wild lol I'm not making anything up here. I'm speaking facts straight from the movie. I know Sakura was under their influence, but not their full control and will. From her dialogue and actions we know she was aware of what was happening, just not inclined to do anything about it because she was basically following orders. She kills her abusers, and whats the first thing she does? Decides she's still gonna activate the grail to fork over everyone else. Why? Because she's no weak little girl anymore, she has power and she's gonna make everyone suffer like she did. Petty af. Even Kirei talks about it 41 minutes into the movie, you know right before Sakura mercilessly crushes his heart after saying he didnt care about her BS excuses (also another funny moment)

Restmer

I would like to recommend watching the fate grand order series with gilgamesh!

Devin B

The servant roster in Apocrypha was actually pretty dope but I wasn't a fan of the MC.

yoshi

I saw the fight in theatres and it almost made me cry at how beautiful it was

GigaDirt

That rider and saber fight actually had me in tears, didn't realise it till it was over. Best fight and just best animation in general in an anime ive ever seen Fantastic

Greg Harrison

This was an enjoyable ride. Liked how much fun y'all had with the series. Could really tell ya'll loved the 'I am the bone of my sword' line. To sum up what happened to Shirou, he basically got alphonse'ed. I hope Ufotable adapts the Fate route one day or maybe HA.

Saba

fate apocrypha ?

Pan Cakes

Fate apocrypha please, THAT SHOW IS DOPE. THEN THE FATE GRAND ORDER MOVIES / SHOW LES GOOO

shamefur display

Or maybe because Kirei didn't mind the perversion of the grail that would lead to an apocalypse. He let all of this transpire just to see what's gonna happen. Or is he an innocent victim now? You say real life, but can you give a point of reference, someone who went through similar level of suffering and brainwash and overcame it or at least stayed in control? In real life people get completely fucked over for life by way way lesser things happening in childhood. She didn't really "get the power" she was possessed by it. Granted, part of her was aware, but would she do it if it wasn't inside her? Pretty sure that's a nope. As for earlier killings, that was the shadow, Sakura was sleeping and having LSD trips until the Gilgamesh moment. All you can blame her for up to that point is not killing herself, which i guess, fair enough. Btw no need to get defensive, i'm just having a discussion for fun here. Trying to convince strangers on the internet is a fools errand.

ULTIMATE TROLL

You guys would definitely like fate apocrypha it’s only 24 eps with DOPE animation and a cool story

Shahrul Nizam

Shirou killing saber got me in tears :'(

Nabiatu Kalokoh

this was great, thank you for sticking out until the end of the main series! whether you continue with the other Fates or not, looking forward to what's next :)

Joel Brian

The ending has me confused to, from what I gather it was only his body that died not his soul and they put the soul in a fake body. Im not a 100 percent on that but that's what I got from the info that was supplied wich wasn't much

Daniel

Yes, you are right.

MetsuMonsta

Dope reaction and movie. Pleeeeeeeeease do Apocrypha and the Grand Order movies

Shahrul Nizam

One of the hardest things Shirou had to do to Saber the person who keeps saving his life before she got sucked by darkness now this is the only mercy he can give to her to end all of her sufferings. Farewell Saber :(

beelzebub

Yeah I mean nobody's ever been through what she's been through so its hard to relate. And its really hard to ignore that her grandfather was controlling her through her nervous system and that the grail was taking over her as well.

KB

Are you reading what they both said, they both literally stated that her misfortunes don’t excuse her actions

Liliana

Yeah. That's mainly because the two blades don't really have a history or a hero associated with them. They were just really good blades that were made to be excellent. That meant that when he projected them, he could develop his own style instead of being influenced by the history and fighting style of the hero who had the original weapon as would happen with Noble Phantasms.

David

if yall dont wanna read the source material you should at least read the sparks linear high ending. its a different ending to the saber fight

Linus Lim

The ending scene with reviving shirou has ties to the greater "NasuVerse". Basically Illya saved Shirou's soul at the end. Rin and Sakura searched for a way to get him back until they met Toko Aozaki (The red hair chick they walked pass) who is another character from Kara no Kyoukai or in english The Garden of Sinners, which is another series in the same Universe as fate but not directly connected

ElasticMemories

"We can go all-out for 2 minutes" -the animation team

ElasticMemories

UBW/Avalon could heal him by replacing his broken body parts with swords, so that was slowly destroying his body irrecoverably. Ilya managed to activate an incomplete version of Heaven's Feel, a soul manipulation Magic and one of the last great unsolved mysteries, to put his soul inside a temporary container. Then they bought this man a magic robot body.

Liliana

Her sad little "Shirou?" before he stabs her always hits me hard

Shahrul Nizam

Yeah :(( I just wished there were short flashbacks for both of them.

Breezy Kun

Plz I really hope y’all continue with the fate series like Fate/Grand Order or Fate/Apcrypha 🙏🤝

Joel Brian

I figured it was something like that when I first watched it but re watching it today I was like oh ok so Shirous just a walking manikin now? And then had so many other questions

Reborn

Highly recommend kara no kyokai

Julian Gaison

Short explanation: ancestors wanted to use Heavens Feel, which is the materialization of souls to free all humans soul to stop all evil, that’s the “beyond humanity” thing they were striving to. Ilya used heavens feel to materialize shirous soul which Rin lter found and implanted it into the puppet

Oh Alone

The one on 1:56:57 was “Touko” from anime “Kara no Kyokai” same universe with “Fate series” She was the puppet master magician type.

FrizFroz

This is the best animation I've ever seen - Sheera Right with her on that one

Skebaba

Fuck the Kyrie Eleison reminded me of THAT scene from Fate/Apocrypha

Davido

You guys should definitely watch Fate Grand Order and/or Fate Apocrypha. They are both really good that give a whole new look at the Fate world. 10/10 would recommend

Jacota Lucian

Why Shirou is alive is basicly because his body got destryed ... thats something the Heaven's Feel Dress couldnt fix,but Illya managed to save his soul and put it in something (a Puppet that was found using a realy rare and obnoxious item tied to Excalibur/Avalon). Making another human body for Shirou wasnt light work since i expect the Eizberns to not be that cooperative. But they managed somehow anyway to make a full human body that can contain shirou's soul (well more of a magical body ran by mana,a robot per say) A tid bit from the visual novel, this ending is kinda hard to get playing it blind, you have to do some specific actions with Illya to have her save the should of Shirou. There is also a branch of this Route where shirou is facing Saber alone,he is actualy a realy good match, but his brain fries since he cant keep up with Archer's arm output. But this version of Shirou is by far the most powerfull one at this age, since he can copy a noble phantasm by looking at it or by reading about the Myth of it. An exemple of that is Hercules's Noble Phantasm, just to make things clear,Hercules never died in the fight with Saber,he still had lives left,he just got gobbled up,he has 12 lives in total (13 in UBW aganist gilg cuz he got mad),so when he fought Shirou ,what Shirou coppied was something this version of Hercules (berserker) could never use,a instantenous attack that is composed of doing 9 attacks at the same time( hence 9 lives),Hercules sword was nothing special,it was actualy detrimental he never got summoned with his axe or armor. Since nothing is explained about some things so you gotta guesss them by going back in time and seeing what happened. The reason why caster was summoned in Fate/Zero was beacause the grail was corrupted(as design the grail was supposed to summon pure Heroic Spirits, and it did,the Caster was pure at some point, but it brang back the version of the person at a time were he was twisted). If the grail was never corrupted to begin with then we can expect that Archer Shirou to never appear, and it turn the archer role would have fell to Hercules(best class for Hercules is the Archer role, for more of that maybe they are gonna decide to make an adaptation for fate/fake)

Scott Riley Adrueno

I still think this movie needed a few more minutes to explain what happened in the end. I literally have to browse the wiki just to understand what transpired. Otherwise, this is true amazing way to cap off the series. Certainly worth the wait.

beelzebub

Hmmm... I tried to use a simile to express the concept of mental culpability by comparing the fact that people without a fully developed brain are given a second chance once they hit an age that their brain fully develops, to somebody having a warped decision making process due to having multiple existences in side of her body controlling her behavior at once(or at least influencing it) without her giving them permission to be inside of her body. I don't think this is a matter of being a simp or apologist, this is more of a matter of personality difference. Most likely due to some people being more 'justice' geared in their personality and others less so. In fact, I'd argue that she really didn't even do anything at all in the end, she just went off the deep end and she was stopped before she did anything stupid. I don't really care about her misfortunes when discussing whether or not she is really an antagonist. I think the fact that her grandpa has been inside of her body for years and that she has the contents of the grail inside of her makes her more like a puppet or a slave. I have a hard time seeing her as anything other than a victim in this movie, its very clear that there are far worse bad actors behind the scenes controlling the flow of the situation. If I were Rin I would have definitely have killed Sakura though, Rin can't sympathize at all with her but she still loves her. The decision to save Sakura is most likely a selfish decision on Rins part because she would have to live the rest of her life knowing that she killed her own sister, in a most likely gruesome way. Also Kirei barely knows anything, he just wants to see shit get fucked up and he definitely was not speaking "facts". He was just antagonizing her because she was unknowingly giving him exactly what he wanted "effortlessly." The things he said to her were in order to further alienate her from other people. All that shit he said about multiple personalities is garbage, this has more to do with how much free will Sakura actually has given the extreme degree her mind was being twisted by the contents of the grail and her grandfather.

Kaz

I was glad Iwatched "Garden of sinners" before the movie,I was able to understand what happened to Shirou in the end.

Liliana

"I literally have to browse the wiki just to understand what transpired" — the true Fate experience

mr nobody

I would pay you guys $20 per month for you to watch Fate/Apocrypha and then Fate/Grand Order Babylonia

Freeofgreed

That ending is a lot different than the one I remember from the VN. I prefer the VN ending tbh.

George Bimble

it is the same ending from the VN

Gate

Sakura is such a terrible waifu out of all of them, what a brat

earthphoenix7068

Did a little research, If you are going to watch make sure you watch the MOVIES and NOT the short 12 episode anime series. It is a recap of the movies but I don't know how since there are 8 (non extra) Garden of Sinner Movies.

yoshi

This was the true ending. The good ending was a lot more depressing.

WuffleIron

Why Rider is alive, is basically explained in the OVA from the UBW route.

Viela Guay

Tbh I feel like the subs were very rough about those parts in this adaptation. In the VN they make it very explicitly clear what Archer's opinion of Shirou's actions are way back in the "come home sakura" scene from the last movie

Skebaba

The one w/ Amakusa Shiro (no relation) in that spooky castle

MaybeNextTime

Can you guys watch "Magi the Labyrinth of Magic" series after Fate?

VanillaCoke1956 .

First off, that part in the VN was literally in one of the bad endings, which has fuck all to do with this one. Secondly, did you miss the part where all that shit Rin said was just superficial and she actually did care? Are you 12?

Jonatan Tercero

Nah why would they watch a show that’s never getting a season 3 ? And anyways season 1 doesn’t follow the manga . As a fan of the magi manga . The anime sucks . Season 2 was solid . Season 3 would of been banger … sadly no season 3

Candy

Honestly your reaction at the was me getting into the series what the fate stay night it just started confusing me like wtf going I tried them I gave up on it, then tried get back into it with the merlin one were they go back to the past fuck no tried it then it started doing same shit remembered why I stopped watching it 😂

Yanpo

Every minute of the movie feels like it's the ending, but then I look at the remaining time, and it still says that there is more than an hour to go.

Son Gokhan

Never know these days literally anything could get a 3rd season and they do read manga so they could read the rest more people simply just need to experience the series

Wrëck

I think Pegasus is Medusa’s child or some shit

Josiah

I think they should probably stop the Fate series here for now. I haven't seen the other series, but nobody talks about them nearly as much as the main timeline and nobody has said they're nearly as good. so ehh I think they should take a break from the series but at the same time I don't mind seeing more Fate lol

Pxssive

Lmao you just making stuff up now and its funny i’ll give you that. I been a hardcore fate fan for yrs and never have i ever seen anyone call that ending “bad”. People loved it. Secondly it wasn’t superficial, everything Rin said on her high horse wasn’t to snap Sakura outta but it was to show her ignorance. Rin not bothering to understand others and doing her own thing is literally what her character is about. Her not checking up on Sakura for yrs, her not questioning Sakura’s wounds, her living her best life in a mansion with no fks given to anyone else, despite knowing how Matou family operates. Yh she cares alr.

War2244
>>70368660

Yeah, I've watched a few of the other series. fate/apocrypha was alright, maybe a 6/10 for me but it had cool fights. Grand order was decent too but I also never played the game. Everything else was pretty dog poo. None of them compare to the main stories unfortunately.

War2244
>>70353672

Ngl, I think they are making so much money that an increase of $10 isn't that much of a concern lmao. I do hope they end up watching those though. Hopefully all the comments asking for it will make it happen./

Ginzo

"I'm on a horse." I'm dead. lmao

HopelesslyImmersed

Final reply here since its kinda getting long and a bit tedious to have to dive into all these comments to find mine xD (wish patreon had a better reply system). @high horse. I'm not hostile my dude, just honestly think its hilarious that a bunch of people came running to Sakura's defense even after saying I had an unpopular(but factual) opinion. As well as the fact that no one is acknowledging Sakura's perverse nature, and blame it all on the shadow. All everyone talks about is how much she suffered and how tragic her character is, and I get it, she did suffer I watched the movie too xD. Also no Kirei is a psycopath too, but at least he's honest with himself. Sakura was under the influence of the shadow, but at the point where Rin tells Sakura "so what?" she was fully aware and flaunting her power around, still playing victim, when in reality she had the power to stop or are you choosing to ignore that? You see now why I'm saying she's psychotic? Then she gets her shadow removed and just acts depressed for the rest of the movie. Truth hurts. Considering on the alternative route she goes back to Shinji and feeds him apples! She wild my dude. @k benjie I've read everything, yet I still have apologists attempting to convince me that Sakura doesnt deserve any punishment for her actions. I think its wild @beelzebub As I'm not an abuse victim I cant relate to her character. I can try empathizing with her sure, but no sane person would have gone as psycho as she did, which is why I wrote my comment in the first place. She's wild, yet no one seems to want to acknowledge it. Sakura doesnt have multiple personality disorder, Kirei mentioned that in the movie. Its still the same Sakura, the whole reason she attempts to kill Kirei is because he spoke the truth, hit a nerve, and she got triggered. Also you're trying to dismiss Kirei as a fool, but thats just for your argument's convenience. The reality is that he's a sadist, manipulative, and smart the whole reason he always seems to make it to end of all the grail wars he participated in (as far as im aware). Also theres no such thing as justice personality lol, the fact that people dont wanna recognize the bad side of a character just means you're simping for that character. Like I said, I'm glad they were able to save her because her character is tragic. But not acknowledging that she continued to commit dubious acts after she gained her freedom says a lot about the apologists. You guys dont have to agree with me. Obviously my word isnt law. But ask yourselves if I fabricated anything, nope, I just used everything available in the movie as my facts. If ya'll dont wanna accept it its fine, interpret the movie as you will. I know I did, but got you guys trying to convince me otherwise xD. Thanks for discussing with me, ya'll have a good day, see you guys around in other videos ;P

redrum.

Yes that is Shirou. His Soul, which was captured by Illya, was placed into a doll which is supplied with Mana, with Sakura being the supplier.

Jonatan Tercero

Basically when the Grail was destroyed, Shirous body was caught up in it , but his soul was saved by illya. Rin and Sakura put his soul into the wooden doll . So that is shirou, his personality and everything is the same it’s him … it’s just not his physical body . No more love making for that couple

beelzebub

I personally don't think you understood anything I wrote. I dismissed the idea of multiple personalities being a thing altogether, instead questioning the illusion of her agency considering she is technically three people at once without her consent. Sakuras entire existence is her body being violated, essentially. I didn't dismiss Kirei entirely as a fool, pointing out that he was getting what he wanted out of Sakura; but he is actually a conniving fool. I think you actually give him way too much credit. He barely did anything in Fate: Zero worthy of mentioning, and didn't even win the grail war. He lost and stumbled upon the contents of the grail because Emiya Kiritsugu rejected it and Gilgamesh was already tainted. Only a fool would betray their mentor by literally stabbing them in the back and frame someone else for the murder for the sake of a laugh. Kirei was no where near as smart as Emiya, as his trademark is betrayal essentially. He is just evil and he acts out of envy of other peoples happiness because of his own anhedonia. He is really strong but despite that couldn't beat Emiya, he couldn't even beat his foster son despite having more information than him. The fact that his death is anti climatic in every route speaks for itself. I also said that I don't care about Sakura's circumstances when questioning whether or not she is truly an antagonist or not, I'm more or less in disagreement with the idea that she is fully in control of her actions. I think its easy to have an illusion that she is in control, but I think they made it very clear in separate cuts that she would say weird shit and then be like , "Why did I just say that?" Not suggesting a multiple personality but rather something evil that was put inside of her without her consent making her think weird evil shit. In fact, Sakura is literally three people at once. A person is not just their brain but their entire body and the fact that there are three people inside of her body speaks for itself. Yeah I'm not really arguing or anything I'm more or less just describing my interpretation of the movie for fun because I really like it, two people can watch the same event and get two different interpretations from what they witnessed. Also yeah the term simp doesn't really work in favor of fictional characters, you can't lust and spend money on somebody that doesn't actually exist. Hell, I even said that if I was in Rin's shoes I would have killed Sakura regardless of whether I sympathize with her existence or not. We just have different opinions on something that we witnessed, if anything I'd wager that you are secretly simping for Kirei. Also, I probably misworded what I said about personalities because I was drunk. What I meant was that you probably "had a personality more geared towards acting out justice and punishment," (Which is a very real thing), not that you have a "Justice Personality." I'm simply playing devils advocate and looking at the situation from separate characters point of view. I understand that this is Patreon though and this is a lot to read.

Buiphuc

So next one must be garden of sinner if u guy want to know about the mannequin

Friendly Elites

I hope y'all watch Apocrypha and Grand Order, people like to rag on Apocrypha for being more disconnected and having a 'bland' protagonist but the Servants in the anime just have so much character and its such a blast to watch

Malcolm Washingon

Correct, pretty sure in Greek myth pegasus springs forth after Perseus cuts off Medusa's head. So in weird way pegasus is Medusa child

Stephen Delong

Siege vs Koto and Sieg vs Karna man. They would lose their shit. Also Grand order Babylonia is insane! I really hope they do too

Stephen Delong

Babylonia is a work of pure art. The fights are greattt. Story isn't bad either

Speeby

Definitely watch Fate/ Apocrypha

Tony

have you 3 ever seen hellsing ultimate?..if not please add that to the list

drmayberry7

so Jesus got absorbed by the Holy Grail? Alright bet, i'll continue watching LMAO

BZD

ANGRY MANGO

Taiwo Olamijulo

I recommend you watch "Fate: grand order" after this movie, it's another epic selection of the fate franchise

ShinDawn

I hope you guys watch Garden of Sinners

T.J.Adams

I hope they watch Fate/ Apocrypha sometime down the line.

Yanpo

Apocrypha may not be everybody's favorite Fate series, but it is mine. Don't think anything is going to beat Heaven's Feel's battle animations, but I enjoyed Apocrypha more than Unlimited Blade Works in every sense.

yoshi

Should watch Fate/Grand Order Babylonia for Gilgamesh greatness

Hodunk

Nope. lovemaking is still a go for them cause the puppet body works like an actual body so shirou still feels pain, needs to eat, and do other shit.

Gate

Hercules stopped at the last second because of lllya, if he went ahead with the attack, the attack would have hit llya too.

VanillaCoke1956 .

Truly tragic how dumb hardcore fate Fans are these days then if that's your take.

TheRuudster

So essentially, Shirou is a "fake boyfriend"-- a puppet of sorts? Or is he fully organic with reproductive parts and all the shebang?

KevMath

BRO!! Saber vs Rider is by far the BEST fight I’ve ever watched, I’ve watched it so many times and it’s always fkn insane I know many people can agree. So many great things to say about this movie like Kirei is a DOG

BennyBarbarino

With all due respect, I wouldn't recommend watching Apocrypha as all that one really has going for it are nice looking fights, and if you're looking for a show with a well developed story/characters then there are definitely better options out there. I'd say the same kind of goes for grand/order too. While I do think the story has better focus there, it's still based off a mobile game and when jumping right into the middle of a story there's bits of context you're going to miss out on which will most likely affect your enjoyment of the show. tldr; they both look nice but the writing really lacks in comparison to the main entries. So if you're looking for shows that have it all then you have many better options out there.

Crimson Moon

When Illya sacrificed herself to destroy the grail, she also used a degraded form of the Third Magic to transfer his soul to a new container. (In its full capacity, the Third Magic would allow the soul to exist without a container, granting true immortality.) Rin and Sakura eventually managed to get a puppet body created by Touko Aozaki (the red haired woman) who is a famous puppet maker. When they put Shirou's soul into the the new puppet body, it shaped itself to his soul so it is pretty much identical to his old body in every way, but it needs extra mana to keep its shape. Mana that Sakura is more than able (and willing) to provide.

Liliana

Would love to see them react to UBW abridged

Arc

I'd recommend Prisma/Illya over Apocrypha, I tried watching that one and couldn't really finish it..

YK

If ya'll want more context on what happened w Shirou at the end, ya'll should check out Garden of Sinners. Same universe, lots of ties to the main Fate routes (including something else to do w Rider), and extremely similar vibes to the entire Heaven's Feel route, but a completely standalone story.

FalkyCorp

biggest cap i've ever read

Buiphuc

Lupas for sure not gonna join this reaction for sure

NarutoPASS5

I enjoy the Fate universe as much as the next guy...but they're honestly not missing too much by skipping Grand Order and the others. If they really want to stay in universe maybe Garden of Sinners. I think anything Fate related would just be too confusing for them

Halibel

yeah i hope they dont get bullied into doing more fate lmao that would suck

Friendly Elites

i think the Karna fight specifically beats out anything in Heaven's Feel in my opinion because that entire fight is just completely and utterly insane visually

Ris

As much as I would love for them to do more Fate content I agree that it might be too confusing. Especially FGO which has only adapted the most popular singularities.

Lumi

Yea same here, I love fate and i play FGO but i don`t really liked apocrypha and i think Babilonia wouldn`t be good if you don`t know anything about the game, i would only recommend in any case Camelot as it would be an IF saber did anything to protect Camelot or The ilya movie where ilya doesn`t apear xD Oath under the snow

Chinese Cartoons

Yeah it's not like Roshi is here to watch high brow masterpieces lmao. They watch a lot of dumb entertaining shit, it's just meant to be fun.

Chinese Cartoons

As someone who has watched a ton of TM stuff, Kara no Kyoukai (the garden of sinners) is the only other anime that I'd put on the same tier as OG fate. All the spinoffs are generally good but there are tons of other things they could watch

BZD

The Vow in the Snow movie on its own would be awesome though. It’s technically part of prisma Illya, but it centers around Shirou participating in a grail war.

BZD

Same! I want that!

Noah

From what I understand the miracle Illya referred to was separating shirou’s soul from his body and destroying the holy grail. Then the pendant served as a catalyst of sorts for when they revived him into a artificial body. I read the VN’s a bit ago but never got around to watching these movies until you guys did and man, as a Rider fan these fight scenes were everything I was hoping they’d be and more.

Animelyze

Apocrypha has some dope action and FGO Babylonia has some of the best animation. Even if you do not know anything about the FGO game, the animation alone is worth it. And they do know someone who is in FGO Babylonia, someone who played a big part in both of the Fate Series they watched. So would love to see Apocrypha and FGO Babylonia just to see them react to the awesome action scenes and animation. Hate on Fate all you want, but especially Babylonia has some of the best animation a "normal TV anime" has to offer right now - we are talking movie levels of animation here.

sansa

please please please watch mo dao zu shi

HaruhiDream

I hope they at least watch Apocrypha.

PaulDrake

Eighty SIX Please. you will not regret.

These Plums

Please react to Dune!!!!

RavinFox .

Her family was absolute crap to the highest degree. I'm cool with her though.

RavinFox .

Thanks a ton for reacting to these!

J

i always thought they put him in the wood body because they said very specifically that emiya Shirou's BODY could not be found

Arc

Was that Velvet that walked past them near the end?

ADZ_ZOU

Thx so much for this reac Fate is one of the best shows ever Guys you have to react to Fate APOCRYPHA and Fate Babylonia too

MWS

it was a Tsukihime or kara no kyoukai character i believe

MWS

i think they only want to react to the main fate timeline

ADZ_ZOU

Thats too bad 😔 Since Apocrypha has an original story based from another timeline And Babylonia for the FC king Gilgamesh Well hope they do it one day though who knows But thx ArchbishopM

Chinese Cartoons

It's Touko Aozaki, if you mean the red head that Roshi said looked important

Animelyze

Same as my thoughts. I mean they reacted to series that are a lot longer, so what´s the harm? They enjoyed the series and they like good animation, hype moments/action, etc. Fate Aporcrypha and Fate Babylonia both have more than enough of that and thanks to them watching the "Main Timeline" they will get a lot of the characters/references in both of them. I would be down for it and A LOT of comments say the same.

Mikey

So kinda like Chucky ??

Tyler

I would be much more excited for them to check out Garden of Sinners than any other Fate content people have been recommending.

GIGAZOOMER

the animation alone makes Apocrypha worth watching idk why ud think they won't like it

P

I don't know why but there's something I find hilarious about Lupa's fixation on Shirou's hair.

Halibel

at the end of the day its up to them just go and req whatever anime you want them to watch.

PyroPhoenix

Definitely have to watch Fate/Apocrypha and the Fate/Grand Order series! They are both really good. People give grand order shit for being a story from a mobile game but it is amazing! You get to meet so many more heroes from different eras and if it continues then you will even meet heroes of the future! All the different version of Hero shirou like archer and much more! I thought heaven’s feel was gonna be the timeline where shirou becomes his op one armed hero self but I was wrong.

PyroPhoenix

Question for anybody that knows a lot more about fate. So the shirou from the heaven’s feel timeline, does he not become a servant at all? He didnt marry Rin and is not following Kiritsugu’s ideals so he wont end up as archer that is for sure. I know there is another form of shirou where he has the one arm archer gave him and has control over it, that splits off into another timeline creating a different version of shirou as a servant. In that one he is an actual hero unlike archer where he is a different class of hero/servant. This shirou is neither one so? In this timeline does he just live a normal life with Sakura?

Viela Guay

Archer Shirou is from a timeline outside the 3 playable ones (some speculate in the unfinished Illya route). Here in fact he gives up his heroic ideals and becomes arguably the most selfish version of Shirou. UBW he ends up on a very similar path to Archer, but Rin helps reign in him from becoming completely doomed. Archer Shriou is a completely doomed shirou, as after the grail wars all servants and such have their memories wiped (since with the exception of Arthuria all the servants are merely printer copies summoned of the true heroes living in the throne) so he goes back to being mr cursed fate soon as he disappears at the end of UBW despite coming to terms with it during his time there.

Viela Guay

The main problem with the F/GO adaptation is that it's like if the only fate adaptation was the last third of this movie and you had none of the context from not only the other routes, but even the last two movies of this trilogy. It's really an adaptation for the fans of the game already rather than being focused on newcomers. For anyone out of the loop, it's literally the penultimate section of the main story arc, which is 8-9 whole arcs in itself

None None

The "other form of Shirou" you're probably talking about isn't Shirou. It's an ancient Japanese swordsmith possessing Shirou's body. He has absolutely nothing to do with anything. Every timeline where Shirou becomes a heroic spirit, he just becomes regular Archer or a slight variation of him (except for the "Detroit Emiya" timeline where he turns into a hard-ass black guy, starts carrying sword bliks, fights a cult, and goes to prison, but it's best not to think too hard about that one. Fate's expanded lore is full of weird fuckery like that). He probably doesn't become Archer in any timeline we get to see.

MTBod

Please react to Apocrypha! You guys will love it!!

Starrk

You guys should react to Fate Grand Order, it has a lot of fan service but ignoring that its really good, u learn alot more about Gilgamesh and Medusa

Normadus

ahh so Shirou soul was put into this Mannequin in box .... How the hell am I supposed to guess that from like 5 frames :|

Flavio Javier Paz Sivila

To basically explain the end about Shirou, his body was destroyed by the blast of closing the Greater Grail. They have Shirpu's soul but there was no suitable place to put it on. The Fate Routes are part of a bigger universe known as the Nasuverse and in this Nasuverse there is a mage specialized on building mannequins so similar to human bodies that there is basically no difference between them at all. So Tohsaka and Rin found the mage (the girl with red head that seems important) and one of his mannequins and put Shirou's soul in it and lives again.

bobo

The body they bought is made by Aozaki Toukou, who's able to make dolls identical to human body. So no worries.

GrImProphecy

Great reaction I'm so glad you enjoyed it!

visa loki

no Fate Stay Night for some saber action

Karma

Greatest Anime trilogy in my life

정빈 이

its very hard too understand how shirou was back. iliya said the magic heavenls feel is materializing a soul. So at the end she materialized shirou's soul to save him from the explosion. sakura and rin preserved it and found a suitable body. and thats how he came back. Its not explained enough to get it by first watch, so understand the confusion.

Đình Sơn Nguyễn

I really hope you guys go through the Kara no Kyoukai or Garden of Sinners series. It will give more context on how it is possible for Shirou to get a new body plus being absolute banger of a film series that doesn't rely too much on the Fate Universe, Type Moon lore and world building.

Inug0d

True Assassin reminds me a lot of Scream movies killer. Getting clapped while chasing victims.

Bozub

I kinda wanna see them react to gigguk video about explaining the timeline

Peds

it's the small details that count, before Rider calls for her noble phantasm, she throws her blood in front of her, which transforms into the Seal in which Pegasus comes out, in Mythology, Pegasus is born from the blood of Medusa, it's those minor things that make this scene so epic

Muse of Salzburg

It'd be awesome if the watched the Garden of Sinners movies

Atsushi {o}

Just to make it simple to explain, Shirou lived on as soul because of Ilyia (real magic) ....time past Rin mentioned that she went back to the academy..." to find a particular mage, puppet master".... (which is the red haired guy when Rin and Sakura walked pass him on the alleyway) another fate series from the Nasuverse and..... managed to find a body for Shirou ...the cage sakura was holding was Shirou soul...Puppet are not perfect they have the same body the same Shirou but different.... so yeah same2 but different.... that's why at the end his proportion was weird...long arms etc..and the way he communicates also.....knowing that shirou was not the same Sakura still appreciate him being there and alive....That is also why Rin asked Sakura "are you happy"...Hope this clarifies..!!!

R'Mani Leavell

yeah. I feel hf has a lot of potential, but some of the execution wasn't as good as it could be. In the end I mainly watch for the fights

Oscar Sandoval

The person with the red hair is actually a girl

Xeno

lol Lupa with the nip slip

Infinity

like this dude said the red hair mage is from another natsu verse series all the fate stuff takes place in the same universe as shit like garden of sinners. Shes a master puppet maker who basically makes lifelike puppets and they put shirous soul into it which was saved via heavens feel ( 3rd magic or one of the true magics in the universe ) and basically saved his soul from his body in which rin recovers an implants in the puppet body. Idk why this guys saying its not shirou its literally shirou in there. This route was about sakura so the focus on her at the end that seemed weird is on purpose because shes got everything she ever wanted and can finally move forward.

Infinity

in this timeline he doesn't become Archer you literally see his soul merging with archers at the end. People say none of the routes have him become archer but Its literally explicitly said multiple times by archer himself in UBW that he's basically from the stay night route which shirou lives out his ideals and tries to reach avalon to save Sabre from her imprisonment there and fails. He literally mentions it himself which basically confirms he's the shirou from the 1st staynight route but people on serious denial about it even tho its obvious not only from the anime in which Archer deff has a thing for sabre but also in the visual novels. The manga and anime adaptations have been changed a lot but the original visual novel Archer is Shirou from Stay night who failed to save saber. ( there's a hidden ending in which he finds her in avalon but the manga/anime assume he fails )

Infinity

because this movie was made for fans of the visual novels? Thats like saying Demon slay mugen train should of explained the entire first season of demon slayer to the audience? The movie was made on the assumption you already know the premise and was for people already fans of the series.

Ramone Moore

You guys should throw fate/apocalypse onna pole its a seven on seven grail war

Rena

Why did they skip Fate/Stay Night 2006

Matt Cole

Touko's puppets are the real real deal. She is the only one in the world who can produce such "real" boddies, and is overall a prodigy in magecraft. Quite the interesting character, she showed up mainly in Kara no Kyoukai and in one of El Melloi's cases (not in the anime though) from the novels I've read so far

Krype

Heat

Rena

what about the Oath under snow movie? or Grand Order?

Savage
>>85704979

They didn't "skip" anything. They watched it in order how they said the would in 2021 when they started Fate / Zero, they said once they watched it in order as Zero - BW - Heavens Feel Movies, then they were done completely and all the other fates were "side shows to keep it going" I can't lie that all of fate is good but the main story is what they have covered and everything else like Grand Order etc.. is just side stories that branch off from the main story to keep the series going since it was good.

Savage

I'd say if you're gonna watch anymore fate then maybe try apocrypha because grand order is good but it's multiple movies and a long series (still good, just eh and I don't like the main character he's boring). Apocrpha and type moon were pretty good IMO.

Acen Yang

I'd say a good reccomendation after what you guys have already watched is Kara no kyoukai(garden of sinners) or Fate Apocrypha. Kara no kyoukai explains the ending of this movie y'all were so confused about in a way.

TDN

I would love to for them to see Kara no Kyoukai!

BZD

Isn’t Garden of Sinners a prequel? How would it explain the ending? Or are you talking about the puppet stuff.

Luqha

I want to live -shirou That is one of the best lines in the whole series. This whole time shirou has been sacrificing himself over and over to save the ones he loves, but now he finally values his own life

Rick James

This was either never mentioned in the anime or briefly mentioned. As heirs to Tohsaka's household, both Sakura and Rin possessed amazing potential as a mage. This is why Tokiomi gave away Sakura as he thought her potential would've otherwise been wasted. Rin has the affinity for all five great elements (a trait so rare that she would've eventually been a top 100 mage amongst all magi in the entire history of magic association). Sakura has the affinity for imaginary numbers, which is a power related to spatial manipulation (which is how she absorbed caster's fireball and Gil's swords) and how the servants like Berserker and Saber was able to be stored after they were absorbed. This ability made her suitable as a 2nd grail. The shadows that she uses in her fight against Rin is also a representation of this trait. Zabaniya didn't work on Kirei because he lost his heart in Zero against Kiritsugu. At the time, the contents of the grail flowed from Gilgamesh to Kirei and filled the hole that was there in place of his heart. That's why his heart could not be snatched because he literally doesn't have one anymore. The gun depiction on Shirou vs Berserker is because it was said that removing the shroud from his arm triggered a ticking time bomb inside his body. From this point on, his body deteriorates and you can see this gradual change as he begins to forget things, including the sense of time (when he spoke to Rin), and eventually forgetting names. Not only that, as he keeps accessing UBW through Archer's arm, we see the blades burst out from inside his body. The show did a great job making Saber vs Rider super epic, but it did not really highlight how insane it was for Rin to go up against her. Sakura upon awakening as the second grail at the end of the last movie now has access to the vast amount of mana she has taken in (remember she took in Saber, Caster, Berserker, and Gilgamesh). In other words, no other living being had as much mana as her and would lose in a fight. They key in their fight is that Sakura is only able to output as much mana as Rin in a single instance, although Sakura's mana pool is much larger. Rin gets around this issue by using the projection of the jewel/gem sword, which is an application of the 2nd true magic (there are only 5 known to the magic association!), Zelretch/Kaleidoscope. The 2nd true magic enables the operation of parallel worlds. The gem sword uses an application of this by taking in mana from alternate timelines around the cave and shoots it as a beam. In this way, Rin is able to match Sakura's mana pool because there are arguably infinite alternate timelines that Rin can draw mana from. Lastly, Illya stepped up at the end to not only shut down the greater grail, but also wearing the mystic code dress of heaven (which is by the way, made up of Leysritt. The moment the dress makes an appearance, Leysritt ceases to exist), is able to cast an incomplete 3rd true magic, heaven's feel. This magic enables the materialization of the soul, and is how the holy grail war was able to exist in the first place. If you remember, they showed the beginning of the holy grail war with Justeaze sacrificing herself to cast the 3rd magic. In that way, Einzbern provided a means to materialize the souls of heroic spirit so that their souls can be used to fill the grail. Illya however uses this magic to materialize Shirou's soul from his body that was deteriorating as it could not contain the power of Unlimited Blade Works (which is why the swords are bursting out of his body), and using a portion of her own body, was able to place Shirou's soul into a temporary container. Later on, Rin went around to look for a suitable replacement body for Shirou and met a certain puppet/doll maker and they moved Shirou's soul into the puppet. Regarding this, in another work where said puppet maker was a more prominent character, it is said that the body takes the shape of the soul and so even though it is a puppet body, when it takes in Shirou's soul, it becomes just like a normal human body. So understand that Shirou at the end is basically no different than any other regular human, aside from needing some mana to sustain the bond between the soul and the puppet. Sakura who retained a large amount of mana from being connected to the root as a grail is able to sustain both Shirou and Rider even after the greater grail has been destroyed.

I know it's been a hot minute since you watched this, but it made me laugh when you mentioned Revolver Ocelot right before Shirou vs Herc, as that scene in the original visual novel is called "Nine Bullet Revolver".
