Overall a great story and clears up some stuff regarding Bakemonogatari! I feel bad for Shinobu though

Every myth is has some differences depending on where you look, who you talk to, etc. but yes, in this particular version, they do. In most other places, vampires usually just drink blood, old school Dracula films-type vampires were just that, Twilight introduced “vegetarian” vampires (drinking blood from animals instead of humans), and I’m sure there are other examples.

I'm finally watching this series right now after long time and your comment is really the best, thanks.

Damn right when I have to go to sleep? I've been done dirty.

Emiliano Reyes Andrade

my sleep schedule is fucked up anyways, I can stay up a little more to watch this

Solatic Syot

I've been looking forward to this all day, now it's time!

MWS

All I’ll say is it’s a prequel, backstories rarely end well and kinda exist to introduce a problem for the present

FiioArt

Araragi did do a trash thing by doing that to her -- But I think it was also him not wanting to hurt someone who was kind enough to want to turn him back into a human by killing herself. Like imagine someone is willing to repay the favor so harshly -- for someone with a hero complex like Araragi the idea is something that would make him feel guilty. It's totally selfish though, but I think that's what it is about.

RonyOnPat

Araragi is selfish, his Hero Complex wouldnt allow him to just kill her off. She suffers because shes been stipped of everything and he suffers from the major guilt knowing that hes done that to her.

Ara Araragi

Now go back to episode 1 of Bakemonogatari and watch them cram all three of these movies into the first minute.

Valdemar The Dark Thugy

Think about that this way: if there was no Shinobu then Araragi couldn't do shit he did in bakemonogatari cuz he'd die in encounters with cat or monkey. Decision sucks, but they warned you about it in the beginning (french words meant "story where everybody will suffer in the end"). But let's see what will happen next, maybe you'll forgive Koyomi for his selfishness (I forgave him at least). Also love how he's "recited" he's words from end of bake (if you die today, I'll die too and shit). As always, thx for reaction, waited for this shit to drop like forever, now I'll be waiting for the time of true fakes, haha

Villenthessis

One of the most bizarre fights I've seen so far. The battle of two immortals are amazing and they remind me of that one battle in Chainsawman. It's basically Chainsawman spoilers without context. This is also the start of Shinobu and Araragi's beautiful and complicated relationship throughout the series. Also that kiss scene between Hanekawa and Araragi is Nightmare Fuel. Now I can't wait for your Nisemonogatari reactions next week.

Halibel

please do check out arcane in netflix god tier :)

VanillaCoke1956 .

To this day I think Kizu 3 is the worst of the movies. I can understand them cutting all of Araragi's internal monologue from the novels because otherwise it would not fit in 3 movies but the fight in the movie feels so vastly different from the novels that it just took me out of it.

pretty sure we wont be getting Nise for awhile, they said that since the Mono series is so long they are gonna put a couple of shows in between so that more requests get answered as opposed to focusing on one series. They just did Kizu right after Bake because it was three movies, not another full season.

Daniel

Please watch Nisemonogatari next and you will know more about the relationship between Araragi and Shinobu at the present time.

Rosie

I like Senjougahara but I still wish Hanekawa and Araragi ended up together

Daniel
>>71340998

Yup. I think their relationship had become the most beautiful in Monogatari in the next few arcs though.

Luke4003

great reaction! nisemonogatari next pleeease

tacoloco

onto the next one?? does that mean no break and they're doing kuro next week???

Most Sane Oreimo Fan

This movie really shows the immaturity of Araragi. This is a story of Araragi's teenage (foolish) years and I look forward to more from y'all.

HypeRec

Any plans to react to Arcane?

NarutoPASS5

I'm working through the monogatari series myself right now...and Kizumonogatari really gave me a different perspective of Hanekawa. I assumed in Bake she was just a background character with a crush and Senjougahara swooped in because she never gave any hint she was interested in Araragi, but after watching the movies I don't know how much more obvious Hanekawa could have made her actions without forcing him to make a decision. No normal woman gives a dude her panties, takes a cross to the midsection, and is willing to let a dude rub her titties so he can fight a vampire. I just started Nisemonogatari to I'm looking forward to seeing how it develops from here

NarutoPASS5

Also it is kind of trash that Araragi forced Shinobu to live against her will so he can leave her in a cram school all day.

Villenthessis
>>71341287

Oh yeah. Well, that's unfortunate. I'm still looking forward to it though. I can't wait to see their reaction to that infamous scene.

tokyoplip

If you have resentment for Araragi at the end of this movie, the deal on paper is trash for Kiss-Shot, however in practice it does actually favor her: What Oshino says to Hanekawa in the stadium is, "The risk of this, is that Araragi and Heart-Under Blade could return to being vampires." Obviously Araragi would never kill and eat to regain his strength, but theoretically Shinobu could. Right now she can't because she is too weak to actually kill someone, However at the end of the movie Araragi says to her, "If you ever want to, you can kill me." This means that at any moment Shinobu can kill Araragi and return to full-strength. Vice-versa, If she really wanted to, she could also stop eating, and die of starvation.

Mr Rys

I don't think that the dirty talk happened, it was just his imagination he told her to raise hands, put his hands in front of her and then backed away

Jay CacBh
>>71344580

but she explicitly stated that she wanted to die for him. She doesnt want to die from starvation. she wants to die saving him and turning him back to human. Thats her one wish. Araragi's selfish desires leads to a situation that she will never die because araragi will never kill her.

Jovoni R Canty

Got watch Nisemonogatari next! You'll get more fleshed out relationship info on araragi and shinobu.!!!

Izaya

Araragi's guilt wouldn't let him live as a human. He didn't want it to be easy for him. He wanted to be responsible

War2244

The fact he doesn't end up with Hanikawa is so annoying. Dude really picked the yandere over her. The author did her dirtyyyyy.

Crow

ya will see a diff light as to why he saved her in future arcs

정빈 이

I still feels weird that your watching this series.

Danny

will you guys watch neko or nise after this? neko is chronologically more sound though technically by the release dates i think nise came right after bake (at least thats how i watched it) but just wondering which yall bout to watch after these movies

James Ancester

Amazing reaction. Glad you like the series so far (and we're just getting started). On to Nise

Connor Grynol
>>71344580

Maybe, but if Shinobu ever did die then Araragi said he would die too. It appears to be a mutual agreement to share their lives in a relationship that is arguably stronger than marriage or blood. Though it's unclear to me what is felt between the two in that relationship.

VanillaCoke1956 .
>>71355257

Lol if they were watching in novel release order, they'd be watching Neko next. They should just stick to anime release order from this point onwards instead of shuffling through everything.

Cheezcaek
>>71344580

The fact that she still wants to die for him and only if it's for him after all of this is literally proof that he made the right choice, but we'll get to that later.

Sebastian Stróż

So one thing you guys noticed is how fucked up everything around Araragi is in Bake. If you think about it, it's not really the case in Kizu, at least not to the same extent. Now, there is one big difference between Kizu and Bake which only is highlighted at the end of this move. Movies were not narrated by Araragi until the very end. Basically we see the world in Bake through his eyes and thats why it's all fucked up. If you pay close close attention in later series you may notice some change to the world but I wont say more until it happen since its not much but it may be considered a minor spoiler anyway.

Weltall Gaia

Noticed arararagi saying kizumonogatari for the sub saying damage story. Is kizumonogatari scarstory?

Ariegch

Will you guys react to Arcane?

Ara Araragi
>>71365072

Yeah. "Kizu" usually gets translated as "scar" or "wound," and "monogatari" is "story."

Ren-chon

off topic but hey guys The Bungo Stray Dogs anime is set to receive a new season

Joseph Michael

hey i know its off topic but what the schedule for alice in borderland? thankyou for any information roshi community

neoplansc
>>71369430

Every Thursday. Two episodes. Non this week though because it's movie week

Jacob R

This is why I love the way the story is out of order. When you go back and see things like this it puts things in an entirely different context than when you originally saw it.

Kevin Xiong

Whenever y’all get the chance, you should def start reacting to the “World’s Finest Assassin gets reincarnated as an Aristocrat” Weird Long-ass title ik, but it’s actually fire 🔥 Animation and direction of the story are all really good so far 👍🏼

Cryzen

Please react to arcane! i think you would love it.

NecDW4

So, Roshi, NOW do you see how Hanekawa managed to get so fuckin stressed The Cat came back in record time? Havin to deal with all this, gettin ready to smash in a storage shed, then he just dumps you for some chick wo routinely threatens him with incredible violence? LOL

XWF Outlaw

Remember back in Kizu 1 when Shinobu promised Agaragi that she would turn him back into a human she promised "on her name"? Welp, she didn't technically lie about that. Big Oof.

NecDW4
>>71374980

Exactly, now you KNOW why Shinobu is just sitting there, looking pissed or depressed the entire series. It also helps show why the next time she shows up in Nise its a really big deal. It gives a lot more context to their conversation, that unfortunately back in the day, anime only people didnt have.

Dollface

It's always a bit interesting how Araragi's final decision will often become the catalyst for construing someone's overall perspective of the story. People will focus on Araragi's selfish behavior, but neglect Kiss Shot's equally as selfish behavior: Araragi wanted to die to preserve her life; however, rather than indulge that wish, Kiss Shot decided to keep Araragi alive because she wanted him to kill her - a decision that shows no consideration for his consequential suffering. Even further, after Kiss Shot confirms Araragi's temperament, she persists in her efforts to compel him to commit an act that would likely cause turmoil (I mean: if Araragi wanted to die after causing someone's death indirectly, I can't imagine he'd feel great about killing someone he did not desire to kill). Simply put: the events of this story stem from the behavior of two individuals who are moving along a self-destructive path, each believing their inherently selfish actions can offer the other happiness, but failing to realize their own self-gratification will not actually satisfy the person they wish to make happy. And that's why the narrative "punishment" here is fitting: both characters are now forced to accept life, in consideration of how the other feels.

Anderson Lake(The Bleach)

It was selfish of Araragi to do that definitely, but it was also selfish of kiss-shot to make him kill her where Araragi wouldn't be able live with the guilt and probably do something horrible to himself afterwards.

Ale D. Schuberg
>>71385391

Best coment out here! I hope Roshi or Sheera reads this comment to clarify things cus they only focused on the actions of Araragi and not Kiss-shot wich were as selfish.

Pan Cakes

He takes the "if you die tomorrow I will too " seriously. lol

Halibel

im praying to gods RN please check out arcane on Netflix such a godlike show.

JulianZ

You guys should really check out arcane on Netflix. Show is 🔥

Scott Riley Adrueno

It is great and all but I just can't fathom how Araragi was not able to put two and two together that Hanekawa fell for him, hard. Like, yeeeaaah?! After all that she did in Kizu? You still gotta ask why she was so stressed in Bake? Bro, you promised her you'd be closer when the sem starts, but you end up with Senjo instead.

Emperor

You guys should check out "Kingdom" if you like Korean Zombie films. 2 Seasons and it's 🔥 It's on Netflix as well.

VanillaCoke1956 .
>>71415374

That's pretty much "nice guy™" reasoning. "I did all of this stuff, so he/she has to love me!". No, it doesn't work like this. Just because Hanekawa fell for him hard and did a lot for him, she's not entitled to his love.

Marquis Lamar

We need them to react to Arcane on netflix ASAP

The Black Village

You guys need to watch drifters such a unique style and the concept is dope the greatest warriors/ soldiers basically summoned to fight

JunpeiFES .

No no no no, they will double the drops for cobra kai 🤣

Nana

Till this day I cant fuck with araragi decision. I understand but I can’t accept it. The scene was very hard to watch.

Halibel

ma enemy

Scott Riley Adrueno
>>71415374

I never said Araragi should also fall for her. What I mean is that he should have already known from the get go the reason why Black Hanekawa resurfaced.

Kiara

When are the next Assassination Classroom reactions coming out? I don't remember which day they're supposed to be posted, but I'm pretty sure it's been a week. Unless I missed something?

Anthony Coley

I recommend they look into the dc animated show legion of superheroes

JunpeiFES .
>>71437716

Actually we were supossed to get AC anyways, roshi put it in the schedule 😮‍💨

Allison Veluz

Ousama ranking ( Ranking of Kings ) is a hidden gem that is airing right now . Produced by Wit Studio it is beautiful and different :)

Kiara
>>71437716

Oh okay, thanks for letting me know. I noticed the influx of movie reactions but my brain didn't put two and two together lmao. So, the schedule should be back to normal this week, correct?

Balázs Börcsök

The best and the worst of Monogatari is that it is an extremely psichologycal and methaphorical show. Almost always there is hidden and deeper meaning puposefully put behind the top layer (what you actually see) story. In Kizumonogatari, it is about mostly about opening up the self to others. If you realize that the whole series (almost the whole) is playing in the last year of highschool, it is pretty straigtforward that in many cases (on one layer) the author writes about the phychological and etical questions coming up during becoming an adult person.

Flippa

Are you guys going to nise right away or…..

Solatic Syot
>>71926797

They probably missed a week, seems like they have a lot they're reacting to. Should probably get some Nise this weekend, would be cool to see the first half of Karen Bee, but they'll probably break it into 3 sittings.

JayX-B

Just think about how he did all that to hanegawa and then said he didn't even like her like that. To her this was a romance novel.

DrTenma

the sentence in french of the first movie means "this story gonna end bad"

Fergus

Yep, in the end, Araragi was too selfish to become a murderer, strange sentence isn't it? In hindsight I think I don't mind his decision given what their relationship/friendship(?) becomes

Infinity

Oshino basically felt bad he messed up and let hanekawa get captured forcing araragi to give up his humanity so he returned the heart. But he was implying also that in a way she saved his life because Oshina was gonna be his final fight and clap his ass to next Tuesday. so really hanekawa saved his ass getting caught lmao.

Schitty

Fun fact, Shinobu in kanji is the kanji for heart under the kanji for blade so her name shinobu is literally heart under blade.

chou sion
>>81565491

lol never though of it that way, these human specialist are a problem, and Oshino is not even the best at it, but the other drippy chick is

NaLu

I always thought vampire just need to drink some blood... never knew they had to literally eat them
