So here's where I'm at about the kiss. I love the chemistry between Sam and Miguel. It's been FUCK Robby since day one but I can't help but feel for the guy in this instance. I don't think Miguel should've engaged Sam but I get that their adolescents and still figuring out their feelings for each other. Great reaction as usual, guys. Btw, the name of the episode is not because of the "tostadas de pulpo asado" that Carmen ordered. "Pulpo" is Spanish for "octopus". The one Sam had in her closet and made her realize she still has feelings for Miguel. In the first season they did the same thing with "Esqueleto" (skeleton) because of Miguel's Halloween costume. Seems they'll keep doing that.

Demetri is and has always been an asshole with personal boundary issues. Thankfully, once he stopped being insecure, he stopped being an ass to others. This episode was his first attempt at actually not being an asshole - probably Miyagi-Do influence - but he still couldn't resist putting his hand where shouldn't have and in a condescending manner (boundary issues). Hawk, like Kreese, overreacts and dumps his drink over Demetri's head. Demetri reverts back to his asshole self and escalates the situation where he's revealing Eli's personal medical history to others. He's better in Season 3. Hopefully, he stays the course for season 4.

Gotta keep playing devils advocate. Yes Hawk went too far in spilling the drink on Demetri, but that's only because Demetri overstepped in the conversation. If he hadn't started commenting on the Hawk/Moon situation there would have been no reason for Hawk to get upset. Also, the episode continues to show why Sam sucks. Robby's mom just went to rehab, and hours later she's getting wasted and ignoring his pleas for her to stop.

I never said that hawk was in the right. The first thing I said was hawk went too far. I just disagree with the idea that hawk had no reason. Demetri gave the advice, Hawk disagreed, then Demetri chastised him for it. Again, I 100% agree that Hawks actions were wrong, but Demetri still overstepped. My disagreement is with people that believe that some kids are just assholes and others are blameless.

Bro, they literally used to be best friends that talked about everything. He didn't "overstep" at all. He was literally trying to be there for someone he still considered his friend even after all the messed up stuff hawk has done to him. Hawk was being a childish baby and he pissed all over the olive branch that Demetri was extending to him. That was fucked up on hawk's part and it was the straw that broke the camel's back for demetri. This was Demetri showing hawk that he wasn't just going to lay there and take it anymore. He was standing up for himself and showing that he refused to be bullied. "Overstepped in the conversation" damn my dude, sorry you've never had a friend that actually takes interest in your struggles and tries to help you out, but with that outlook, i can kinda see why o.o

Not sure the personal attacks were necessary. I'm commenting on the writing of the characters in a fictional series and peoples general reaction. There's a lot of grey when it comes to these characters. Notice, I didn't say anything negative about Demetri in either of my comments. I think the characters are written very well, I just think people have a tendency to paint everything black and white, one of the things this show has been showing us to be the wrong way of looking at it. I don't know how many times I can say that hawk was wrong. The point is that he wasn't unprovoked. I will state again, what Hawk did was fucked up, and Demetri's response at the end of the night was completely justified. If things were meant to be black and white this show would be called, "Karate Kid: The Series" and it would be following Daniel LaRusso as he trains kids to take down the evil Cobra Kai once and for all. The whole Idea behind this show is to take a look at things from different perspectives. I'm throwing out a point of view that most people don't consider. And that's with me including the repeated caveat that I don't agree with the actions that I'm supposedly defending

I feel bad for Robbie when Sam got drunk and was playing the drinking game because Robbie’s mom went to rehab on the exact day of the party for her drinking and pill problem. His dad likely had a drinking problem too when Robbie was at a young age and we’ve shown how often he drank even now in the present, so Robbie knows how damaging drinking is based on his experiences with his parents. Thinking of it in this way, the scenes of him trying to stop Sam from drinking is pretty depressing…

For Robbie, Sam was his only girlfriend in this story and for Tory, Miguel was her only boyfriend in this story. Sam never officially broke up with Miguel. She just sat on the awkwardness and never cleared the air on their situation then moves on to Robbie just cuz he was there. Robbie wasn’t even tryna get into those problems with Sam yet and rejected her initial attempts at him then she quite literally put in effort to force her charm on him. Not saying she’s was doing anything wrong or evil in doing so but still left Miguel hanging and moved on but when she’s confronted about the situation when Torys in the picture now all of a sudden we ain’t dating and Robbie is just a friend.
