Even when Ousama Ranking is “dark”… it’s kind of wholesome. It has that old school anime uplifting vibe that even when everything is shit, you just can’t help but be hopeful.

I gotta say that bojji is one of those characters I immediately felt genuinely bad for. Like yeah there are a lot of anime with tragic characters but I was like damn. This little kid is deaf, mute, is called stupid and a fool, got the shit beat out of him by his older brother and no one even slightly believes in him. Like damn.

Yea the reason everyone said he couldn’t defeat his brother was because the other person had to submit and Boji literally couldn’t get enough strength behind his swing to hurt his opponent. Those taps were him swinging with everything he had tho.

But it was definitely highlighted in the Justice Friends skits. The Infraggable Krunk-- the purple hulk guy, really enjoyed watching it. I think part of it is that when a King fights he's supposed to display strength. Another aspect too is that while he was more nimble and able to dodge attacks that's all he could pretty much do. They believe him to be so weak and frail that he's just not capable of even wielding a sword. Which means even if he can dodge he still can't fight, like she he could tap him with a wooden sword but that doesn't mean he can wield one made of steel. And when it came down to a test of strength the younger brother won. This society seems very fond of the "Strongest Rules" type of mindset.

Because of Chivalry during that time, Bojii was told to stop dodging and fight with honour against his brother, also, Domas was intrested in Daida because he HAS been training Bojji for quite some time already, knowing that Bojji has been training but not getting stronger at all.

You guys missed the point domas was saying no matter how much boji trains he not getting physically stronger he literally cant pick up a sword and that the swordmanship of a king is clashing head first with your opponent which boji cant do

Domas has been training Boji for a while now it wasn't just a few days and he's on Daidas side now. Also Domas was saying that even if Boji can dodge well, He physically cant hold a sword, they are too heavy for him. Even if he dodges he wouldn't be able to actually do damage he'd just be constantly evading, and if your going to be king you need to be able to defend your kingdom.

Not only that, but considering there's things like magical creatures in the realm, if your dagger literally cannot pierce deep enough to do any damage to say a thick skinned creature, sure you can dodge all it's attacks, and it can just ignore you and start eating/killing all your people while you can just sit there and watch. The ability to dodge is something that one can only use to protect oneself, while a martial king has the responsibility to protect others.

The guy who said "It looks like he's making fun of someone who is trying hard" explained it. See Daida was trying really hard and couldn't hit boji. Boji kept tapping him with the sword because that's the hardest he could hit. So to the people watching, it looked like Boji was making fun of Daida. Because for anyone else, if they had hit Daida like that, he would have been out. Since Boji lacks physical strength and could only hit hard enough to tap, it looked like he was saying "I can win this any time i want, but I'm going to keep drawing it out to make you look stupid".

the flashbacks that were going on when dude got stabbed in the chest were actually HIS flashbacks about when he had genuine moments with kage like when he woke up and kage was holding his hand. he knew he didnt deserve kage feeling sad about his death, and i bet he cried cause he realized that too late and died with regrets.

Funny thing Roshi talking sidestep being overpowered move, but in real life if you can do it it's as powerful as in anime. Avoiding taking a hit with a small steps to the side is very agile combat move.

i get what roshi and them are saying about dodging and striking being the kid's style, but he still needs to be able to block/parry when dodging isnt the best move, and have the strength to actually hurt an enemy, otherwise he'll just tire himself out and lose by default.

ill be honest, this anime is a complete dud for me so far. i dont care about the motor oil spill clan. this kid who gives up his clothes and cant speak seems like he would be a bad king to me too. and they are making the humans so unlikable, that why would you even want him to lead them to glory when they are all such assholes? idk this one is too cartoony for me I think. ive watched too much vinland/game of thrones.
