That’s crazy. The rest of the world see Paradise as the enemy because Tybur told them about the million of titans in the wall and how it could be used to kill everyone. It remind me in the past when I believe we(US) invaded iraq because of the suspicion they had weapons of mass destruction. Which apparently there was no evidence they did. it was the fear that they might and could use them that led us to do that. It’s kinda the same thing here. The world leaders declared war because of fear of what could happen to their countries if the rumbling was activated.(in my opinion) so what the rest of the world did, is kinda reasonable, but because we know the other side it seems bad.

The comments for this show are always fascinating. Seems like for a lot of people, Attack on Titan works as “revenge porn”. Not in the sexualized sense, but in it’s extreme depiction of revenge and the pleasure and excitement by living vicariously the intense contempt Eren has for who he views as his enemies and the unfathomable violence he unleashes on them. The series allows for viewers and readers who have imprinted on Eren as a protagonist to view him as righteous and root for his plan of mass extinction, razing landscapes and ecosystems, and global genocide, which would be very difficult to do real life situation that parallel his kind of rage.

Marley used titans to win wars way later. Then when it got hot they pointed the worlds anger towards paradise island trying to confront the possibility of the rumbling. Brainwashed the eldians that stayed behind and told them they were left behind by those eldians that left. Marley had years to end the titan reign by just leaving paradise island alone in their ignorance. However they punished eldians anyway by injecting them and pushing them off the wall turning them into titans. In the end they were no different from king fritz and abused that power and now they awakened the same thing they feared the most.

So, I'm assuming Ymir's flashback was to show that both Marley's history and the Eldian Restorationist history was true. Paradis island could have been left alone,100s of years ago certain people made sure that eldians forget about the world and be ignorant,but marley decided that they were gonna exterminate the eldians(genocide bassicly),it has been a never ending cycle of war,peace was no longer an option (marley made sure of that), its either 1 side dies completely or its a never ending war, so eren thought about the best way to break the never ending cycle of war(kill everyone but paradis) ,no enemies,no war ,paradis is free,its either that or accept to be exterminated just for the fact you were born in Paradis Island (bassicly makes you a slave)

Just my opinion: I get it, genocide is wrong. However, from Eren's pov, when literally a vast majority of the world hates Eldians and treats them worse than livestock, what are you suppose to do? It was literally shown in the banquet, before Willy's speech, how every nation's representative treated the Eldian servers like shit and would KILL them just for making a mistake (spilling wine on someone). All the nations treated them horribly except that Asian lady's nation (forgot her name). So the parallel drawn is how Eldians on the continent are being treated like how the Germans were by the Nazis. So in this case, if the whole world thought like Nazis, shown by the banquet scene, and wanted to kill the Eldians, are they just supposed to take it lying down? Eren chose to fight and sadly his enemies is everyone outside the walls. If more nations treated Eldians fairly, I don't think Eren would choose genocide, it just sucks how LITERALLY every nation, but one, hates Eldians.
