I really can't help but feel bad for Jean cause ever since he joined the Survey Corps he had to pretty much abandon his dream of living a comfortable life to try and fight for the greater good. It's definitely not easy to do something you know is going to lead you down a totally different path from the one you want but him and the others do it cause they see it as the right thing to do.

One sad fact that they highlight in this show is that the fighting never truly stops. Anyone can fight someone over any little thing at anytime. There are people that wish for peace on Earth but as long as there is a miniscule of difference between people they would use that as a reason to go to war with one another. Even if Eren destroys everyone aside from the people in Paradis you never know there might be a civil war within Paradis over something.

Roshi still on the fence and maybe still supporting it but I think he will change his mind when he sees the horror of the Rumbling around chapter 130-131. I was on board with the Rumbling until then too when it hit me in the face. The absolute massacre that the Rumbling created.

u guys need to read the spinoff of Aot manga. which is the junior high school stuff i think. In the series, Ishiyama used it to explain Eren's true nature. Even if they didn't attack them, if Eren had found out about the outside world and how his freedom was threatened by them, he would still go ahead with the rumbling to gain his freedom. That's just who he is. A true monster.

The significance of Jean saying I’m still a member of the Survey Corps, after seeing ghost Marco or whatever, is because Marco’s death is what pushed Jean to join the Survey Corps. He swore it on Marco’s cremated remains, those are the ashy bones he was referencing last episode. I think he joins the survey corps either 1 or 2 episodes after the Trost arc in season 1.

Honestly this episode disappointed me because I was eagerly waiting for that scene of Jean punching Reiner. In the manga it felt like the most shocking panel of the whole manga to me. Maybe my memory is wrong, but it felt like Jean landed 10 sonic punches on Reiner's face until his knuckles bleed the f out. In this adaptation it felt slow and sluggish, as if Jean was already tired. I think it's probably because AoT is now aired on NHK G and not on MBS anymore, so they can't show too much graphic violence, but I wanted this scene to be as shocking as it was when I first read it. Especially because it came out of nowhere and broke the mood of the boyscouts campfire setting.

Lupa's joke at the end of the video actually made me think about real life issues. We never "erased" the past, we all acknowledge it and it's part of everyone's story to think it through and try to make things right however we can. The people responsible for all that happened on that context is already forgiven, but held accountable for their mistakes, and life goes on. That's what they should've done on AoT, but unfortunately it's an example of what happens when people can't talk and think for themselves.

And if I got it right, it's literally the last new AoT episodes you'll ever watch (and then the movie will come out). He said he was a coward but he actually stood with Erwin when they charged to their deaths getting rocks shotgun blasted at their skulls and survived. He was willing to get his ass whooped by Mikasa during that debate over who would get the titan serum when Erwin and Armin were dying ( he wanted Erwin to live ). Now he's here, taking full charge in what he strongly believes in and will stop everyone who dares to try and get in Eren's way and y'all wanna dog on his character because he's on the wrong side? C'mon y'all don't do that to him. His character has remained consistent this whole series. You don't need to like him, but the Floch slander has gotta be put in check because I think people forgot everything he did and only remember him as some punk bitch because he expressed his fears of dying a meaningless death to literal monsters like a perfectly rational person would. Plus, a character had to be on Eren's side once the real plan was revealed. Damn near every major character is now considered a traitor to Eren so he had to be the one to stay by his side. Give him some type of credit. Eren cannot be the only antagonist here.

That's interesting because even Eren who's now the main antagonist of the survey corps doesn't even get half the hate Floch gets, or any other Yeagerist. That's because Floch is still the same vindictive annoying coward he was when he was first introduced. Yes, he appears more authoritative, but his posturing is transparent. It's still motivated by the same feelings of fear and spite he had back then.

Also what anime only gets misconstrued is that the eldians suppression of marley wasn’t just 2000 years ago but it happened for 2000 years and the great titan war that marley won was 100 years prior to the start of the show and the king left with certain eldians to go to the island.

I love this episode because it gets to the point of this whole issue: who's going to put their resentment and rage off to the side first for the greater good? Nobody ever wants to do it, which is why the cycle of war and other tragedies continue. But if you want anything to get done, it has to be done by someone.
