Sad we only have one episode left. What a ride this has been

Comments

Blazingku

Lolol i never laugh so hard. You are an asshole. That was funny. Yup speech. Aaahhhh, aahhhh lolol

TheDroppedFry

Ey bro not every single good anime story has to have a Berserk ending. Especially since the writer went through the painstaking task of connecting all these plot points and developing their character arcs. Even if some of it's rushed, it's nigh-INFINITELY better than most of the anime that exist right now.

Daniel Robb

Hard agree. I'm totally here for a forgiveness/redemption story, but the last two episodes felt rushed :(

Jose juarez

I’m late, but gawd damn Mann people in the comments need to get a life shit ain’t real life 💀

Gabriel Souza

The show is pretty good but the ending is so bad that it doesn't even seem like is part of the same show

Shawn Oxley

The only problem I have with this show is Miranjo getting to live they could've just asked for her soul to be set free but they only asked for her to be resurrected so her soul will belong to the demon again upon her death also she really doesn't deserve to live after what she's done nor should she ever be with Daida also now Desha is screwed because they stole the wish to fix Ouken

MrBulldog714

The second I finish the episode, this drops. Nice.

Hitagi

hands down top 3 anime for me with this season alone. one more episode left yall, godspeed

Dry Lyo

I see we're keeping up tradition of delaying/forgetting monogatari episodes. Good to know there's something constant in my life.

Kingmakaii

“I’ll never ask you for anything” Couple years later comes asking for shit LIER

Ryuken

imagine if the price for mirajo is total dispair on the entire kingdom like no plants can grow the water is toxic and it will never rain

NecDW4

Aw yiss, new episode! Now lets hope they dont accidentally have any feelings or emotions or shit. Feeling things is bad after all. LUL

Vanilla

On stream yesterday they said it was coming today so it might come later.

BZD

I’m just hoping Bojii gets his power back. That would be awesome.

Blank

The demon didn't take Bosse's soul, he only to Mironjo. Bosse went to the afterlife.

Space Man

I'm pretty sure the "price" for the wish was that the demon would get their head back. Despa said that he'd give him the head back for a wish, and the demon agreed.

sotonye ogan

Remember guys no matter what fucked up shit you do just say you had a sad backstory and all will be forgiven😃😃 no cosequences no kizzy no p. yh this show was s tier until the miranjo dickriding (every character is too nice ig) still good tho. IMO!!!

Bob

LMAO bruh i was kinda teasing a while back saying this show gonna pull some BS with miranjo and have her stand by bojis side. LMAO SHES GONNA BE HIS SISTER IN LAW. this next level, shes a groomer now too. But its all fine cause she had a sad backstory

Bob

Miranjo on her minecraft youtuber ish with daida

Kevin Kovacs

Are they gonna react to the Eris OVA this week or next week?

aostheory

Maybe the cost was getting his head back

BasicallyClapped

I think the demons head was the exchange for the wish, even though it seemed underwhemling.

Jerrell Alex

I think the price was to give back his head, otherwise he would have told them what the price was.

Bob

cant even recommend the show. still liked it but wtfff is this miranjo shit

Grelk

Man fuck daida lmao had to bring miranjo back because she had a bad life :(((( fuck saving ouken

Ayman Gebrail

Am I the only one that thinks lupa would be a good English VA for the demon? I know he probably wouldn’t wanna play a character like that but that laugh he did was spot on 😂

Jamar Arrington

I'm just going to assume that there's no cost for her coming back to life. If the demon's wishes work like the eternal dragon on Planet Cereal in DBS, than maybe not all wishes have a cost; just the ones that would be beyond him. Which in a way ties back into the episode's theme of desire and what you would do to accomplish (Desha)

J

okay but like.. even if he caught her shes still dead... Its not like her hitting his hands head first at that speed magically doesn't break her neck

tacoloco

there was no cost for him bringing her back because they had the demons head and used that as leverage

Devin B

Damn so Ouken is gonna stay stuck in that rock while Miranjo gets forgiven just like that. After all the shit she pulled at least punish her to some degree.

Sydo

Kings back then can just straight up have any wife no matter what age…. If Daida wants a milf, he’ll get a milf 😂

Slade Casso

Questions for later: How strong are the gods if Bosse could defeat Chiba after the rematch? Does the demon appear for his bargain when the said person dies? What was with the shot of Desha's throne at the end? I'm curious now what the next arc is, do we go fight gods, go back to gyakuza, or try to reach #1 rank? Find out next time on RANKING OF KINGS

Shiroja

I believe so that was my understanding. Despa said if you want your head back grant my wish. Then when Daida made the wish it was granted so the demon got his head back. The whole point of taking the head was to get a free wish because they know had something the demon wanted. At least I believe this is what the point was.

Bob

No they couldnt. Kings didnt just marry whoever, it was always carefully planned out

Spriggz

My theory is that The Ranking of Kings is for the benefit of the Gods keeping control of humanity. Instead of people rebelling and fighting the Gods, they instead compete with each other for the top ranking. The one on top goes to the "treasure room" where they see something beyond their reasoning, which is the power of the Gods. This overwhelming power may cause the top rankers to go insane.

Kreative

I believe the cost of the wish was for him to get his head back

Davon Thomas

Im honestly surprised they never joked about how Bosse even got Daida's mom pregnant to have him lol.

Umbra_Nex

I think his throne was shown cuz he is clapped. He definitely knew that accepting rank 1 was a bad idea, which is why he was turning it down in the beginning. I think it may be a way to weed out "greedy" kings, since that messenger said that he thought ranking of kings was good for the people, and Desha proved he wasnt a "good king" by prioritizing his desire to help his brother over his kingdom (since I assume everyone knows that rank 1 kings all go bananas or die... which they also hinted Desha knew since he told that other guy he was in charge now). I think it may be some play by the gods too. Maybe they get something out of tempting kings? That one creepy 3 eye god did say the age of gods was ending and the gods had to figure out some new way to move forward since they were not getting faith as much. Dunno when Ranking was started, but it could be some ploy. Really looking forward to another season to see if any of that is made clear though! Such a great series!

Sera

Bro. Miranjo is so much older than Daida. Isn't he like 12-14?? I don't really fuck with that idea that much. Kinda pissed me off.

britt

miranjo really pulled a james charles that’s crazy

Umbra_Nex

The cost for that wish was getting his head back, I think. That is why Despa was so happy to grab it. Maybe there is some rule where he cant just snatch it back if its offered in trade for a wish. Maybe its a cheaty way around any kind of cost.

Grelk

Exactly whats the lesson here? You can kill the person who raised you’s wife and make him possess his second son, almost destroy his kingdom and as long as you have a sad backstory you get kid dick and no punishment??? What???

Sera

The first episode of this series that was a letdown.. Can't believe whoever wrote this thought it was gonna slide.

Asellian

lupa does that laugh too well hehe

IGOTBIG Brain

i just realized the part where miranjo tried to kill herself was in the opening

Dontsop Keran

She was put into the mirror at around 15 years old. They’re basically the same age physically, plus mentally she didn’t grow up due to trauma. Weird but it’s anime so take it at face value

Parker

I am so confused by the relationship dynamics in this show. Like wasn't Miranjo in love with Bosse but now she is marrying Daida and Bosse knew her since she was a child which was also very strange to me so maybe they just loved each other as family. IDK all seems kind of strange for me.

Sera

Even if that's true. I still don't like it. Imagine wanting to marry the woman who was responsible for killing your brother's mother and who was trying to kill yours. It's wasn't the best move writing wise🤷🏾‍♀️

joe

To anyone who is currently reading or has read the manga. Is it really good in the manga rn?

Cleven Anthony

Good thing it was daidas choice & not yours lmfao you’d think your a character in the anime with how hard you going about it 😂

Arknightoni

Did you really just "Ummm, actually..." unironically? Dude who cares? We are talking about a time period where you were practically a adult and could consent the second you hit puberty and for some reason had no issues sleeping with their relatives

iCY

Arknightoni

I mean if you have a problem with that then I hope you have a issue with all the other anime that have done this

Mozart Waddell

First thing Daida do after being released is apologize to Boji and Apeas for ordering their assassination. NOPE I'm about to go get me some sweet tail. Screw you all, then threatens everyone. She's a murderer and Daida you're a mastermind behind attempted murder. You pieces of 🗑️ deserve each other.

Nana

Yeah I ain’t gonna lie, this ain’t it man🤦🏿.

Mozart Waddell

She's a lost child and victim of circumstance but she KILLED Boji's mom and citizens of the kingdom after experiencing true happiness with Boss. I just wanna know next episode will she accept any penance atleast for her actions.

Matthew Osteen

nah I agree that was some soft writing. She should have gotten some kind of punishment let alone being made queen. Her sad backstory didn't do it for me.

Sera

Did all that damage and walked away with a crown.. Ridiculous

Isaac

Yes. Usually lost and misguided children who manage to grow into adulthood usually do horrible things... that's how that works.

Mozart Waddell

@Isaac I know how it works. Her character can not be defended. Boss showed her happiness she continues down a dark path regardless. She needs to be imprisoned. Miranja wasn't acting under duress.

Mozart Waddell

It's nice to see a murderer who develops remorse when her backs against the wall and gets rewarded with a free life upgrade to queen.

Alex Omega

I'm not with the Miranjo/Daida pairing and they try to pull a 180 on us by giving her a sad backstory along with King Bosse. After everything, she did to everyone else she gets a free pass...Nah that doesn't feel right to me. I mean their relationship (Daida/Miranjo) felt like a mother and son relationship or a mentor and apprentice to me, not one of a lover to me. This episode was a letdown to me. You guys can defend this relationship all you want but, I personally will not be cool with it. Yes, I know it is only an anime but still it's how I feel.

Kyojin Kirā

what i think is... king bo is going to play a part in bringing back desha. desha will go crazy or disappear. king bo is the only one who went through the situation already with his dad... which in turn may bring his dad back into the picture. whatever number 1 is, wont be resolved until boji becomes number 1 and i think whatever treasure it is, is linked to the god that king bosse killed. since he said " we need something else to control humanity". desha's dad thought it was immortality but for the other god to me. its the treasure that all the other number 1 kings pick. hell it might even be a demon and thats why that god had a split personality

Bob

Daida and miranjo deserve each other both fucking trash.

NecDW4

Like, forgiveness of awful stuff if they're REALLY sorry is a HUGE thing in Japanese society.

NecDW4

@Hex You're both right. Actual marriage WAS generally a planned out, almost always political thing. But because marriage was like that yeah, kings kinda just fucked whoever they wanted, concubines were a thing for a reason. Love or attraction were almost never a factor in marriage.

Alan

Ngl the back half of this show has been weak story wise and this episode is the worst imo. I can't buy this Miranjo buisness at all and this after all the boring shit with Ouken that felt completely pointless.

MaybeNextTime

Maybe it's just me but to me it was a weak ass resolution. Lmao. Daida and Miranjo all did this shit but still at the end Daida really got what he wanted. Miranjo killed Bojji's mom. Daida the king of simps. Marrying Miranjo? Bro what the fuck? That's some borderline pedo shit. Nobody could convince me otherwise. Weird writing. It bothers me. Like isn't he 12? Miranjo is like 40?? Ouken should have been saved. What the hell. Also, did I miss something? The pacing in this ep felt too fast and rushed lmao

WeavyBoo

There is a newly released OVA for Mushoku Tensei, focused around what Eris did when Rudy first met Paul when the trio was in Millis. You guys should totally watch it

Alan

It was worthless to the interesting aspects of the story or the mc and it went nowhere. Literally felt like it was just there to power scale Bosse. IMO you cut that all out and the show literally loses nothing.

Isaac

That's how royal marriages work sometimes. He is the King and can marry who he wants. I mean marriages like this have happened in history and fiction before so writing a young king to marry an older woman isn't exactly news. And obviously old kings marrying a barely legal ( by modern day standards ) girl ain't new either.

NecDW4

Maybe the show took a week off? Im not seeing any new episodes anywhere.

Antonio

*starts guestimating how many FBI agents need to be called on Miranjo because of that engagement*

Bazil

Yeahhhhh the 10 year old wants to marry a woman her moms age? First they tried to set up Miranjo with Bosse when Bosse was too old for her and now they are setting up Miranjo with Daida when Miranjo is too old for him. FBI needs to arrest everyone involved

Kyojin Kirā

That's a miss judgement, oukens story is for his brothers. It's to show how he's so different and the issues his character faces. Just because it doesn't resolve season 1 doesn't mean it's not useful to the story. Without ouken what challenges does boji or the rest of the cast face?

L.C.

Yea no fucking thanks. I loved this series up to this point. Now I am thoroughly disappointed.

L.C.

Honestly think I want to drop it after this bullshit happened. What a stupid route.

Rosie

I really love this show but the whole sudden Daida and Miranjo romance is not it for me, especially with him being a kid and her getting absolutely no consequences for her actions

Akta mannen

Am i the only one who dont like Bojji and like Miranjo way more. I dont understand the Bojji hype

Baconeggs16

My Dress Up Darling tonight?

Taylor Moon

If Daida is old enough to be King he can have a wife

Isaac

Y'all must have hated Game of Thrones if this makes y'all sick.

Devin B

I really hope that Daida at least apologizes to Bojji in the next episode cause if they don't touch on that topic then this show is trash for leaving it like this

Bob

Adults sleeping with very young people was still frowned upon lol. Idk where you getting your info from but the average marriage age wasn't 14 or 13 like so many people seem to think so

Kyojin Kirā

youngest king ever was 1 day old... so i guess, he was getting his D cleaned the right way LMAO

AlphaWolf64

I think the cost was the demon's head because Desha said if you want your head back but before he could finish Diada ask for Miranjo to be brought back.

tacoloco

sorry theres not enough action for you and the show is going back to its routes of heavy story telling through emotion and past plot points that you missed

WeavyBoo

Also hoping there are plans to watch the ngnl movie

Mozart Waddell

I'm trying to hold out hope. I hope Bojji rightfully gets his kingship declared as well. This isn't Daida's kingdom to rule.

Trent Ward

daida and miranjo is a little weird but it isnt bad writing. You see how daida and bosse are very similar. Miranjo killed his baby mom and he still loved miranjo.

Omar

I feel like her consequence was that she lost Bosse and that itself was the biggest consequence she could have been dealt. Bosse was the person she spent the better part of her life trying to make happy, the person she soley lived for while she had nothing else going for herself. Realistically, yeah, most wouldn't forgive her. It's kind of like the Vegeta effect: he may have destroyed planets and tons of innocent people, but people still forgive him/turn a blind eye like he ain't do none of that.

Isaac

I'm kinda wondering where the plot is going because I am suddenly feeling like Bojji being a main character is sorta gone. The plot got way bigger than him and now I'm lost I'm wondering whats gonna happen with him.

Kyojin Kirā

how do you not like boji? underdog character that pulls through and overcomes odds

tacoloco

your life must suck hating on the two best written characters in the show

Denickart

Considering Daida tried to have Boiji assassinated he's in no position to judge.

Mozart Waddell

The age of Daida I can look pass. I like that in GOT characters that received redemption or later acceptance by others actually faced some form of retribution. I hate that this didn't happen with Miranja. I'm thinking she's going to suffer inside the demon for at least a couple of months or days at the least not 1 minute and then be freed and protected by Daida. I love the show and wanna withhold judgement until the finale.

Jah

only drop tn?

sotonye ogan

they made boji to be the nicest guy on the planet so he wouldnt give a fuck about apology lol. anybody can do crazy bad shit without bearing the consequence ( unless they pay gold for "compensation" lol) oh btw what about Ouken? nahhh fuck him he did some bad shit he should rot! but Miranjo you did some bad shit too but we still love you💗 i want to marry you lmaoo.

A.D.Z

Idk if there is a price for the wish of bringing miranjo back to life but since miranjo’s body was in ice in good condition and her soul trapped in the demon’s tummy i guess to me no price was needed since he had all the piecies to bring her back for free Might be wrong its just my opinion from watching

kurumi Tokisaki

Bro What! So Boji forgives the chick that killed his mom in that horrific way. The amount of things that she has done cannot be forgiven, im sorry. I already felt uncomfortable when they dragged Kage from the after life. The show is entertaining but the forgiveness in this series irks me for some reason. One last thing to prove my point, Daida put a hit on Boji before his remorse, then comes back and wants to marry the chick that killed his real mom. GTSHO!!!

shitting

idc about the marriage is boji gonna say something about her murdering his mom lol

Panda

After this episode, it really puts into perspective HOW HUGELY IMPORTANT that final fight bosse had with Bojji was. Not only to Bojji and to the naritive but to Bosse's own story and arc. After taking Bojji's strength the man lost the thing he valued in his life the most, his enjoyment of battle. But after returning home to his wife and son he discovered a new love, for Bojji and his family. And after trying to give everything back to his son in reparation for stealing his strength, his son gives him back the enjoyment for battle he lost. In a way Bosse was never the "strongest warrior of all time"(though possibly in the moment). Because the second he stole Bojji's power to get the strength he needed, he set in stone to process of Bojji growing into a stronger warrior than him, and potentially stronger than he would have become if he had live his life with a completely differnt perspective. The amount of thought you can put into this show and STILL find minor gems to appreciate makes me love this show even more.

Sera

That doesn't even compare to Miranjo's BS in the slightest. They're both trash

Papa Souls

Maaaaan, that vault probably just a portal to the lands between!

Steven H.

yall gonna post anymore today or what?

Kyojin Kirā

Although I didn't like this episode. People forget its a different time and setting. so a teenager with a 30 something isnt that unusual. King bosse never looked at miranjo like a lover, he said clearly a mother/mentor and daughter. Daida loved miranjo, we got that the episode he was going to confess his feelings but got cut off. The main problem is how easy it was for her to be set free and forgiven. No harm came to her, not even 5 minutes passed. she killed boji's mom, tried to kill hiling, basically hyped up Daida to kill boji and set up bebin to lose to apes... also was going to burn down the kingdom and start a war. All for a man who didn't even want a part in it. Just wanted her to be happy even at the potential cost of his family because he felt bad for her and sorry that he made her continue living. prolonging her torture. the funniest thing is how her whole character is just being a plot device

tacoloco

how do you know she was in there for one minute? when you die they say your life flashes before your eyes. she could have been in there for days suffering but in our time it was minutes

Dezmond Broadway

I took it as only someone worthy can be number one. So unless you’re selfless like Boji you’ll end up going crazy because you’re not putting your people first as the number one king.

Kyojin Kirā

it was 1 minute, nothing happened to her. we saw that. this isnt itachi's genjutsu lol

Moisty Justice

with this and AOT ive come to terms that people hate character development or emotions

Tabbs

Are we also going to forget how Diada sent the order to kill Boji?

Mozart Waddell

Crunchyroll comment section is clapping this episode 😂

Tabbs

“It’s not that deep” what braindead people who can’t think of a well structured argument type

Tabbs

I’d be pissed af if I got my free wish stolen then all because some kid wanted some miranjussy

Shoelace Ace

I think the price was giving the demon his head back, that's why Despa wanted to cut off the demon's head so badly.

A.D.Z

Ohhh good one too i forgot about that thx u probably right

DoobieSam

The cost was that the demon got his head back. It was an exchange

Toby Alpha

A lot of people (at least on crunchyroll lol) seem to be really confused as to how Daida could forgive and even love Miranjo so much, when you have to consider that in the dark subconscious that he was in, he basically spent years of Bosse's memories watching Miranjo suffer and grow up. He effectively grew the same affection Bosse had by literally living those years in Bosse's memories.

rickie woodson

one ep left? thought season two was starting up soon. off to the interwebs! nope thats part 2 of season one. which we are watching now. oh well. at least young justice will be here in two weeks

Passion

I am so glad I am not the only person that doesn't like the whole Miranjo mess. I did not like her character at all and the resolution made it worse

Joshua Burns

Was not a fan a this episode at all, after everything that’s how this all plays out

rickie woodson

yeah we've seen him. chabi shin is one of the gods (perhaps king of the gods based on the crown and it seemed like he was leading them) that miranjo's people opposed in her backstory

Panda

We don't know her exact age. For all we know she could easily still be early-mid 20s. Also she isn't just a plot device. No character in this show on their own is a plot device. Each has their own motivations, including miranjo, that add more to their character than move the plot along. Her actions are one of the leading causes of the situation we had in the story(along with bosse, the devil, despa and desha) but she has more to her character than just what she adds to the story, so thats just not true. As for what happened with Miranjo this episode, freeing her may have been "easy" but it is heavily implied there will be consequences for making a deal with the demon. As shown by the whole situation with Miranjo herself. So for now its easy, but it ain't over in the slightest. For forgiving her, no one has done that besides Daida and Apeas. The captain showed visible anger at Daida for wanting to marry her and the big four for protecting her(even though 3 of them probably didn't want to be they were ordered to by Royalty). They made it clear, that mirano's next arc will be centered around her trying to atone and earn forgiveness, so to say she has it already would be going against everything the author put infront of us. And while i believe the author will lead us to forgive miranjo due to how they went about Hiling and Domas' arcs, but i could also see them pulling a twist on us and having miranjo remain unforgiven to the end. Completing her arc as a tragic character.

Simple Fan

Soo.. Miranjo did all that bs and Daida decided to make her his wife?Everyone including Boji is okay with his brother marrying the woman who KILLED his mother and helped his father have Daidas body? This episode was ridiculously stupid. If I was the devil it would’ve been bon appetite 🍽😋

Wrëck

Bro the whole show boji was forgiving niggas who fucked him up lmao that’s why I don’t like his character and this episode made of my mind to not like this show

RavinFox .

She literally isn't the one asking for marriage and Medieval lol The forgiveness is coming from Bosse kids who have already had to forgiven a LOT to get to where they are now. They lead us up to this basically. Also, the amount of people who got killed just to give us our setting alone should speak a lot about forgiveness. Her sad backstory started with her dad getting owned by Bosse, not even all that stuff afterwards... Bosse himself did a LOT of bad stuff but recruited the kind souls we love that ALSO tried to kill one another or Boji. Its so complicated and yet all of them are just chilling now. Why not Miranjo this point? lol

Wrëck

This episode helped me realize I don’t like this show lol bosse and miranjo’s relationship doesn’t make any since to me it would only make since if bosse loved her as like a lover but he let way to much shit slide. I’m not even gon start on boji overly nice ass 🙄 and I get why daida developed feelings but still bitch you going to jail!!!!

rickie woodson

a lot of arcs set up for season 2 for everyone. miranjo must save satun AND ouken, daida getting married (?) but with boji now having power and being the rightful heir, will he challenge him for the throne?

Panda

Daida and miranjo giving off them Padme and Anakin vibes with the age difference lmao.

Jazko

Stop this baseless ranting. “Back against the wall” literally she was put into multiple positions of victory but chose mercy. She was deranged but it was because her childhood was terrible. This isn’t real life also. Stop trying to play Judge Judy

Jazko

People don’t realize how much Trauma she was carrying. Literally both Daida and King Bosse witnessed the atrocities committed against her. If you feel back whatever

Lucky Licks

No one person is irredeemable, even Bojis mom herself reveals that she holds no grudge against that and Boji seen that. This is just a difference in mindset between audience and cast, you’ll never come to like this show.

Devin B

@Jaceyboy people know what she's been through but her having a trash life doesn't justify the actions she has done. Are you saying that because she had a horrible life people shouldn't hold her against any terrible atrocities she committed? Cause it sounds like you're ignoring all the bad things she's done.

Lucky Licks

You act like it was Miranjo who proposed to her, she hasn’t even really acknowledged Daida’s request yet. she’s just taking everything in after all the crap that’s gone down. Not really disgusting unless you make it so. Plus she’s mentally and physically still in her teenage years since trauma/ frozen body. You claimed “don’t care” and it’s still weird, then if that’s weird then so is Aang and Katara from avatar being together( I just thought I’d throw that out there) . I feel like all you SJWs just want to get mad the moment an anime breaks a modern day taboo. So glad Japan dosent conform to any of y’all’s BS.

Lucky Licks

Unfortunately for you and many others who have deemed Miranjo as irredeemable that mindset of y’all’s and Bojis mindset of kindness and forgiveness will never harmonize and it will continue to irk you. Also makes me worried for y’all irl and how you treat others who have wronged you.

Lucky Licks

That’s just the reality of the time period. Drop it if you don’t like it or continue to annoy yourself and watch it. Honestly it’s crazy how y’all don’t expect this stuff and then throw a fuss over it when it happens.

Lucky Licks

Not exactly true, backstories adds context to actions and motivations. Whether you feel bad and forgive the character is up to you. I hate it when people get a backstory of a character and then their like “is this suppose to make me forgive them”? Like SJHDJSJSJEHDH NO JUST DO IT WHAT YOU WANT

Shin splits

Tbh Miranjo at the end of the day was his number 1 priority. He didn’t find out she was the one that killed Boijis mom until the final fight I’m pretty sure. I’m 99% sure in the final fight he wanted to lose and die together with miranjo but he kinda tired to protect her and put up a front so it doesn’t seem like all the things she’s done for him went to waste. By doing this bosse achieves both making miranjo no feel as guilty and atonement for both their sins

Shin splits

I personally don’t think it’s a romantic type of love more of an admiration type of love and Daida fulfilling his fathers last wishes. Also she is a very powerful mage in her own right so she’d be way more useful by helping the kingdom and serving them as an atonement then just them like locking her up

Kano

I think the first place ranking is for the gods to try and control them or sum I just think it has something to do with the gods bosse defeated 1 but there still was a whole bunch we don’t know about

Shin splits

I can see Miranjos love for bosse and an romantic one but Bosses love for Miranjo is 100% familial

YaBoyRoshi

Ahhhhhhh okay that makes sense lol. Despa knew what time it was and had that big brain play only to have his wish snatched lol

Bob

It's not complicated. Dont drown toddlers in their mothers blood

hokeypokey

Not sure that I agree that the kings taking the reward for being ranked 1 is a way to deal with those who might go crazy with power because that's literally what taking the vault thing does to them. It's like they showed in an earlier episode a king who seemed chill but suddenly he went insane and destroyed his kingdom. It's for that reason that the whole, "It's for the good of everyone" line sounds like complete BS.

Bob

Lmao sure buddy. Miranjo is a fucking murderer.

Planksir

Lupa’s demon laugh was on point

Josiah

I hope we get more szns of this show they have so many possibilities for these characters to go, Like other Kingdoms. Boji and Dadia being older, Who is going to be king out of them to. The Gods that went against Miranjo's people.

Josiah

The cost was his Head because we the wish was first was being made it was Head that was on exchange. But I could be wrong

Panda

@bob using that logic its not her fault its the people that shot the arrow, just dont shoot the bow. As easy as that right? lmfao

Candy

but he dosent have bosse soul hes soul went to the heavens not to the demon

Red Dog

Th cost to bring Miranjo back was to get his head back. Despa said "If you want to have your head back, you'll have to grant my wish" (or something like that)

RavinFox .

As lost as she looked this whole episode, you guys don't already think she's just accepting what's they're deciding for her? That's her punishment. Also, Jacey is right. She's shown mercy a few times before.

Bob

Wtf you reallyt think you have a point here? Miranjo hired those people to kill his mother. wtf is up with your logic there? It is miranjos fault almost all the suffering towards boji and his family is because of miranjo. she hired those people to kill boji mother that is a fact.

Bob

Miranjo is the fucking adult. She is supposed to refuse his advances wtf lol. Japan has a history of pedophlic controversies. you talking about sjw lmao pedo defender

Bob

Anime fans consistently show their sub 70 iq. best written characters anime fans dont know what good fucking writing or character development is

Bob

This some game of thrones level last episode bullshit

Spriggz

Random observation, but in the intro when the hands are opening up to new places, I just noticed its Miranjo's pov not Boji's. Pretty cool

212

final treasure is the one piece

Mad4Life

Nah this nigga Daida is a clown. First he tries to kill Boji then he not only pardons Miranjo for all her crimes but decides to marry her the killer of Boji's mother, never minding the fact you're still a kid marrying someone older than even your own mother. Like I get this is an anime but this shit is just too wild and honestly this is probably my least favorite episode based on how forced this happy ending felt. Hopefully the next episode redeems it.

Drake Rage

I can forgive Miranjo but not Daida.... the boy did not only steal Bojji's spot as King but also wanted to get him assassinated. Daida is literally a spoiled brat, who initially cared about his brother but saw him as being weak and someone who needs to be protected, but in the end Bojji had become worthless to Daida so he wanted him killed. Daida said it was better for the Kingdom if Bojji died to prevent chaos from a possible rebellion....... that is some weak reasoning.

Weekly Flo

There's no way you're holding on to the whole assassination thing, he did what he thought he needed to because Miranjo told him to. He saw what made Miranjo into what she became to be and why. He believed that what she needed was someone to love her and that she was still a good person, but she continuously threw everything away because she figured she's already lost enough. and that age thing has zero baring. This is monarchy, that was absolutely normal for that time. He said wife-to-be, that's just how they do things back then. This isn't now times where that's a huge focus we hold now.

Weekly Flo

Daida didnt steal the spot, Hillings did that. He wanted to assassinate him because he thought he needed to because Miranjo was talking him up and he needed to eliminate all threats.

Weekly Flo

He didn't want him killed because he was just a weakling. HIs whole growth arc was him remembering that he is infact far stronger and he actually had a complex about himself that he was better because he was given a duty because EVERYONE underestimated Boji. He made that decision way early on when he knew nothing of Boji and was under the impression that everyone would rebel. Did the whole King Desha not register? He did all that heinous shit because in order to fend off their evil dad tyrant, they needed to get their own people to trust and fight for them. He hated it, but had to do it, that's just how it is. If you cannot see Daida's growth, then that is on yourself and your ability to understand his clear character arc.

Weekly Flo

Bosse and Miranjo's relationship was built off of debt. Bosse saught out strength and the mother of Miranjo saved his life because she was a good person, in turn, he watched over them/her and watched her grew up. He pittied Miranjo because her people were betrayed and she was nearly killed. He basically pledged to save by protecting her. She realized she'd been holding him back and she did whatever she could to give him his life's dream. She did but it in turn drove him away because he didn't like how it made him feel and he was occupied with the kingdom and Boji. She was jealous that she couldnt be by his side so she did all of this because she had nothing to lose. Boji is nice because Boji is the goat for one, but his "power" is that he can see the best in someone and bring it out and everyone around that makes for greatness. He's just so charismatic, that was the whole point of the swordsmanship. His technique and style was to not kill people when they have so much good and humanity in them to do well. Not everyone is their worst moment.

Weekly Flo

Imma keep super unfiltered real. Some of these comments being petty and being hateful. Y'all are actually fucking unbelievably stupid. Y'all have the emotional intelligence of a moth. Y'all be the reason why online discourse be taking years out of people's lives. Y'all are why twitter is so ASS. The writing was on the wall and bigger than king Bosse. The arcs were written very well and clearly, it went over so many of y'all's heads. SO many are still focused on Daida before he got a lick of development? C'mon now. Idk what show yall were watching, but it was not ranking of kings. This shit was fire and the writing was absolutely solid, weep over it somewhere else. This shit was absolute GAS, learn how to read and come back when you gain some emotional intelligence.

関口信玄

It's only stupid if you're a simpleton who can only see shit in black and white. Clearly your mind is as narrow as a fucking pencil lmao.

Mikey

When was it "heavily implied" there were going to be consequences for freeing her? Wasn't the price for freeing her was giving the demon back it's head?

Mirrorline

The cost of the wish was just to return his head back. That is why despa and his knight were mad about it. it was their wish not Daida's. The part that I don't understand is why the demon grant it when it is not Daida's wish

Simple Fan

How?She broke her promise twice to the devil,Killed Bojis mom,Let prisoners free from the underworld, manipulated Daida, kidnapped him and forced his fathers soul in his body, tried to have queen hilling and caused many people to die or get seriously injured. After all that she gets to marry Daida and become a queen and everyone is just like 😄…NO they should’ve let her die in suffering like the demon planned too and let them save Oken.I don’t care if she did this all for Bosse because Bosse is trash too

Lucky Licks

Idk how the @ system works on Patreon but @bob, he wasn’t irredeemable but he wasn’t redeemed. If that makes sense. He hasn’t atoned for anything and went out cold, not owning up to any of his crimes.

The Divided One

Lmao I agree people are being whiny but so are you lmao, you're doing exactly what they are, just on the other side; But you think you're "correct" so it's justified, hypocritical trash is worse than these whiny kids.

Bob

Then he decides to marry her. It's not growth. It's called Stockholm syndrome

slipHAZARD

Yeah it's almost like a make believe story set in a fantasy world...Crazy eh?

Bob

Was hitler redeemable or not. yes or no stop jumping around the question

Bob

Lol not everyone is redeemable. You are a sheltered child if you think so

slipHAZARD

lmao these comments are both extremely hilarious and sad at the same time. Everyone out here wearing their formal clown costumes tonight 😂🤣😂🤣😂

Bob

Actually you just straight up said hitler was redeemable. I'd love for you to say that to the survivors of the holocaust and ww2. Just tell them hitler was redeemable he had a sad backstory

Nana

Stop crying at a difference of opinion. You doing too much.

barewithme

The cost was returning his head

Mist

Its like the demon accepts a wish in exchange for his head, he doesnt care who makes the wish

kurumi Tokisaki

I agree with everything you said, and the demon part was rushed af. Almost wasn't even needed tbh. Episode would been better if they saved oaken atp

Kyojin Kirā

tl:dr she's a plot device. if she wasnt in this story there would be no plot. just king bosse "Rolling around at the speed of sound, Got places to go, gotta follow my rainbow. Can't stick around, have to keep moving on, Guess what lies ahead? Only one way to find out!"

Mist

My theory on the Ranking of Kings was that it was set up by the gods in order to control the people, If you remember that one episode where the three eyes god said he found another way to control them

Uglygod

Miranjo is basically his mother figure, it makes 0 sense for him to want to marry her. She literally groomed him to be the person he was. Yes the show was good but it threw it all away with her getting off scot free. She was in hell for 2 seconds, their was no consequence for her actions.

Uglygod

Yes the show had good story moments a lot of them but this was not one of them. It’s just weird to even suggest he wants to marry her. Not every show is perfect so deal with the flaws instead of calling people dense.

OMegaWattz

Um I would argue that Hilling (you know his actual mother) was his mother figure well before Miranjo. She defiantly had a part in many of his decisions, but in the 2nd intro we also see a scene with him and the mirroranjo in his bed talking while reading a book. She seemed to be much more of a confidant, advisor and "friend" then some sort of parental figure.

kurumi Tokisaki

Im done commenting on the flawed forgiveness aspect of this show. I do want to go over some other interesting aspects that are unique to it. It seems that gods in this show are bad or evil and the one demon we saw is not so much 'evil' but cursed. So, is Bosse going to heaven is a good thing? IDK Also, was Bosse in hell before he was resurrected back into Diada's body? Where did Miranjo learn her magic from and incantations for the underworld? The real question is, what lesson is suppose to be learned from this series because boji honestly was being used and had character de-growth after his training arc.

OMegaWattz

I feel like too many people are getting heavily emotional and confrontational on a series that is not yet done. I agree with some on one side that so far I feel the development of the characters has been great but I also agree on the other side that some of the decisions that have been made with others has been.....complicated and confusing to say the least. But I think everyone 1. Needs to calm down on the insults, and actually try to discuss things instead of bitching at the other side and 2. Lets see where the series heads. It sounds like the overall story isn't done and we could get even more and hopefully we will have a greater chance to see the consequences of peoples actions pop up and add more to the development of characters like Miranjo and Daida. And maybe for some that will never be a satisfying point of the story which is fine. Everyone is entitled to their opinions on it. Overall I have been loving this series, flaws and all and I can't wait for more!

OMegaWattz

Tossing in my 2 cents about Miranjo and Daida, I think with Miranjo, its the fact that she was willing to accept her punishment and deal with the consequence of her actions that speaks more than her actually living out an eternal hell. I get super pissed in alot of series where the MC is so good, that he/she is willing to spare a villain that has absolutely no remorse for their actions and admits that they will continue to do their evil shit. Once she regained that bit of humanity that had been tucked away and realized that horrible things she committed she accepted her end. Is that enough? Whose to say, but I would definitely be more willing to at least give someone a chance who is looking to repent and accept punishment than one who is without remorse. Kinda like what's gonna happen with Ouken? Does he get off scott free from all the potentially hundreds he killed in his twisted state or should he be forgiven because of what life forced upon him? I'm looking forward to what happens with his character! Daida is a bit different as I felt his actions largely where influenced heavily by those around him, which lead him to have a complex about his brother and developed his own messed up decision making. It wasn't too uncommon in the past for new rulers to exile/execute/imprison previous ruler's families. Heck assassinations where sometimes part of the ruling process. For Daida, I wonder if he saw his decision to have Boji killed as some sort of mercy. His weak brother who is mocked by everyone and will never achieve anything in his life, maybe this will not only set him free, but also Daida, who was forced to accept alot of responsibility all for the sake of protecting him. I'll admit this one is a trickier one to understand completely, but I will wait to see how his story continues to develop.

Lucky Licks

I did answer your question, is he redeemable? Yes. Was he redeemed? No, he took a losers way out. The more intense and severe the situation the more complex it gets but ultimately my moral is no one person is irredeemable. And i never said revealing a sad backstory of a character makes a person redeemable either, just cause for example you had a rough childhood and were abused doesn’t excuse your currents actions like slaughtering a family. It’s never right to slaughter *anyone*. Backstories simply provide context. Let me create a scenario. Let’s say person A has done person B wrong, maybe he in the heat of the moment sexually assaulted person B and traumatized them. Now Person’s A reputation is rock bottom, everyone hates him and society shuns him in every shape way or form. Person A feels convicted and regrets his decision. Probably vows to himself to do his best to atone, but no matter how he tries to make it up to Person B or society he’s never given a chance and is continually condemned by everyone. But he ultimately tries and the change of heart is true. Though whoever chooses who is redeemable is up to the person. Person B might never forgive person A but maybe Person A’s mom will, after see her sons desperate attempt in atoning and guilt. But I don’t want to leave this as “it’s a person to person thing”, because it’s not, no one is ever irredeemable. Some people just won’t come to accept it, and it’s not exactly easy to do especially when you’ve been scarred and pained by something that grieving. If you watched A Silent Voice that is also a good scenario of whether a character is redeemable or not. (The protag bullying the deaf girl) Now since you wanna bring hitler and the holocaust, a victim or a relative of the victim probably won’t ever forgive hitler and will view him as irredeemable, but hey that’s them. Their justified in feeling that way completely. I don’t agree with it but who knows if the same thing ever happened to me, and j won’t be able to forgive them, but ideally that is the moral I would want to hold on to. Definitely not sheltered, but say what you will.

Lucky Licks

@bob and just in case you say something stupid like im still jumping over the question (in which I answered straight up clearly) and totally ignored everything else I said: A topic like this ain’t a simple yes or no answer.

peak

bro OMegaWattz wrote a whole essay

Lucky Licks

Not you again Bob, yes she ought to refuse Daida given her actual age but she can’t exactly refuse a king either. I don’t even think she’s in the mental stability to be capable of acknowledging or rejecting Daida either, or ti make any decisions for that matter given the freshness of the situation.

Keonja Hazel

King Desha opens the treasure door and all he sees is the demon smiling holding up the middle finger

Keonja Hazel

I really hope they explain what is the curse that is over Kage, and probably Bojji gets his strength back

ISnatchEdges

the way i understood it was that the cost for the wish was to give his head back, but who knows if this man will come to collect in s2

Cablemonkey

I gotta ask, when will Lupa confess to doing the VA work as the demon?

Mad4Life

Imagine thinking it's bad that people want someone to be punished for their crimes. Even though Miranjo went through a lot of pain and suffering that doesn't suddenly excuse all the innocent people she's caused to die and all the pain and suffering she's caused herself. I def was not with her being tortured for eternity by that devil because I truly believe no finite amount of crimes deserves infinite punishment but she needs some repercussion for her actions now that she got saved. All ya'll in the comments getting upset over the fact that people wanted a more realistic conclusion need to get off your high horse cause I guarantee you, you've wanted characters punished more for doing much less.

Ryder LS

All I know is: The gods are boutta be a problem next season AND Desha might not make it into next season

Nate

It's not necessarily bad, but it's not good either. Miranjo has shown the capacity to do good throughout the last few eps along with remorse for what she's done. She doesn't need to be forgiven but she can be held accountable through other means than punishment. She's a powerful mage, imagine the people that she can help now that she has returned to her old self. Why deny both her and those she could help that opportunity in the name of "justice" even those she wronged don't want?

Angelo

Miranjo was not his mother figure. Hilling is his mom and that is made pretty clear. Miranjo was his adviser and the person that would help him. She is not a parental figure. Also Daida spend a whole lot of time now with the child version of miranjo and saw her entire life through king bosse so it can almost be technically argued that he spend a long time with her from his perspective.

Onyekachi Nkenke

I don't think the demon took anything because remember they had his head so they practically made a bargain

cL

what the hell not even a spoiler warning for ANYBODY

Isaac

Yeah people do that on the internet. This ain't a new phenomenon.

Isaac

People can dislike Daida but need to check themselves and back up off disrespect on Daida's character. Yes, he attempted an assassination on Bojji's life. And like any kid, have horrible opinion on those who have disabilities. That was the old Daida. He was punished for being that arrogant lil' shit you guys keep thinking he still is the second he was forced to drink the elixir. He was basically dead the whole time and was stuck in a dark limbo for what he thought was his entire life or did we all forget his mental breakdown plus and his broken heart during that epic scene between him and Hiling calling for eachother? I didn't forget that. That was one hell of a punishment. Daida, the old Daida, paid for his shitty outlook and shitty deeds and died. Once Bosse left his body, Daida was reborn as a new person. Get over that assassination attempt. Plus, he's the king so like what do you guys want to happen to Daida now? Ain't nobody gonna do a damn thing about the attempt ( if they do I'll stfu ). That plot-line is done and over with. Oh and let's not forget, Daida did not steal Bojji's King position. All that was Queen Hiling's doing and she did it with a democratic vote amongst the high rankings of their kingdom and we all stan her last I checked so let's not even go there again. In short; give the NEW Daida a chance. Let's see what he does in this next episode and onward. The old shitty brat you hate so much died so let's stop talking about that one.

Drake Rage

Daida stole Bojji's spot because King Bosse wanted Bojji to be King. Daida wanted to be King more than his mother wanted him to. Hilling actually cared about Bojji and wanted to protect him, but Daida wanted to be King because he was a spoiled brat who saw Bojji as a useless weakling. I also know that Miranjo was advising Daida, but it shows Daida's character as an entitled brat to be willing to kill his own brother because a person in the mirror advised him to..... even though he had already successfully stole the King's spot. Also, about Desha's parallel... except it isn't. Desha's Dad was Evil and ruthless as fk, but everyone in Bojji's Kingdom is loving and kind. Your excuses for Daida doing "what he had to" is literally the reason he is a spoiled brat since he had NO reason to be so ruthless. He is not facing any threat, he is being ruthless for his own ambitions, even willing to killing his own brother for it. Again, he had NO reason to turn it up to 100 and be so ruthless and start (trying to) killing off everyone opposing you. Since you don't seem to be able to read between the lines, the issue is that Daida was trash in the past, so he needs to redeem himself. The first thing he does when he comes back is pardon Miranjo who caused all of this (which is still fine considering her complicated history) but my problem is with Daida... Bojji be like: bitch didn't you order an assassination on me?? Don't you have shit to say? The first thing you do is announce your marriage and move on from there?? Hello I am right here.. I was supposed to be dead thanks to you....

Aion

Didn’t enjoy that outcome at all

Lil Uzi Vert

Wtf kind of episode was this? they literally shafted Boji making him look like a side character.

Ryder LS

Dude chill tf out I dont even know what's gonna happen this is just an educated guess, it's kinda obvious as fuck tho if you pay attention

Hipuno

I expected the vitriol and discourse, but I'm honestly satisfied by the way this story seems to be resolving (they could always get buck wild in the last ep, I'm unfamiliar with the source material). One of the major, if not central themes of this whole story is that even in the most noble pursuits, violence may produce short term results, but serves only to continue a cycle of violence. Bojji is the personification of the idea that one does not need strength to lead, and that compassion and empathy are vastly more important. While still a surprise in the moment, it seems only fitting in retrospect that Daida should choose to advocate forgiveness, even when faced with the enormity of Miranjo's sins. I think the alternative of Daida and Bojji forsaking the soul of someone they've come to understand has faced tribulations that mirror Bojji's life would be the more jarring choice.

Tahti

I completely understand that Miranjo suffered terribly, but I can't forgive her for all the bad things she has done. I need to see her make up for it all and Bosse got off easily too. It felt unfair that they stole that wish to bring her back. Plus her and Daido together? That feels weird because she has no feelings for him, but I can see why Daido did it so she wouldn't be killed. Also Boji started to take a back seat and I'm hoping we get to see more development from him in the next season.

Noah Marshall

I can see why people would have some issues with it, but at some point people need to grow past the whole, "they got off too easy" way of thinking. Like OML. She was a child and had 1 person do everything to make her happy, she then felt obligated to do the same and couldn't see what she was doing as bad, because to her it was all for this person.

Shawn Mondol

I feel like we knew that it was friendship and happiness time ever since Domas got off free with his fuck shit. I don't mind it. Lowkey feel like everyone's consequences got reflected onto physical wounds for Dorsche lmao

kurumi Tokisaki

New Daida lol. He was probably in the dark limbo for a week. Also, whole time, he was just watching a movie of miranjo's life while his royal guard were getting dusted by her. Then he has the nerve to "reborn" himself just to bring her back and marry her with no real explanation for them. They don't know her life and the last thing they remember him (old daida) doing is sending a hit on boji. Look at the chronological order of events for daida and you will see the fuckery. Actions speak louder than words...

Alexa

Man someone get Eren to start the Rumbling cause it's an all out war in these comments 😂

Brian Sexton

I think the cost of Daida's wish with the demon was giving him his head back, since that was what made him listen to them in the first place. There could still be a consequence but I don't think so, since in the other wishes we saw the demon laid out the terms before granting the wish.

Darian Phidd

The cost was that the demon got his head back lol

KJ

Ik Im late but my take is there is nothing wrong with Miranjo getting forgiveness, not every character needs to pay in blood. Daida's actions aint too far-fetched either, he is still a naive child and he did witness Miranjo's tribulations, he may have been too up in his feelings in that moment. My issue is this all gets resolved too quick, and that's my one issue with the series if im being real: the story moves crazy fast. I thought we were gonna be a while before we saw Boji become able to hold himself against oponents but it happened in like 2 episodes of training. And it's the same here, Miranjo gets forgiven in like five minutes and almost everyone seems cool. Ig time will tell tho, i did like Despa's moment, his reasoning at least made sense
