moon knight has over 10 personalities in the comic but there are a core five: mister knight (the suit wearing guy in this ep), moon knight, steven grant and marc spector. in some iterations khonshu isnt really the god khonshu but an alter of marc, in others its left ambiguous and its up to us readers to think "is he insane or a hero?". in fact, many of the heroes in the comics think he is insane and dont believe he is empowered by khonshu at all. one of the many reasons they dont like teaming up with him. he is very much like punisher: you are a loose canon who kills so we not chilling with you foo'. they changed it up here making marc and moon knight one and steven and mister knight one as well as confirming that khonshu is real.

As far as I can put together Arthur isn’t an avatar. He’s simply using the first avatar of the croc lady’s gift to have powers. Also they keep saying he’s dead, died, or something… look at the first interaction with that little girl. He was rejected from the life of reeds. Maybe the deal he made with konshu is what brought him back. He did say he was nothing but a corpse when he found him… maybe by saying next candidate he means he’ll have a way for her to be killed, so he can make the deal. So if she becomes a candidate she’ll need to die first meaning if she said no, she’d obviously stay dead. I think Arthur wants to resurrect the croc lady so that he can become her avatar because if he was already… why wouldn’t he transform to fight Moonknight? Also I don’t think he’d be the scrapper kind of avatar. Simply from what he has it seems he’ll be a summoner and have beasts fight for him. Maybe what I said could be spoilers but I’ve only read the comics where Moonknight talked not to Steven or whatever. I didn’t even know who that wasn’t until the show. But in the comic the people he was talking to were Captain America, Spider-Man, and Wolverine.

So is the body Marc's or Steven's? I feel like Lupa hit the nail on that Steven is the fake personality in Marc's body. Marc formed this personality out of the memories of his wife and how he wanted to be for her, maybe some kind of guilty conscience formed Steven personality. Marc might be thinking that when the deal is over Steven personality can still have a life in that body, but it's like 100% certain Steven will be the last Moonknight after Marc's soul/personality gets destroyed or something.

Marc Spector has Dissociative Identity Disorder (Moon Knight 2016 Issue 194). Marc is the original personality. I don't know why the writers are keeping that a secret in the series though or maybe they are going in a new direction.

Actually, split personalities is usually a result of trauma; You go through something so terrible that the only way for your mind to keep it somewhat together is to compartmentalize not only your emotions, but your memories. So one personality is born because it lacks, and retains certain memories, and the same for all the other personalities; That is why one personality may be violent or callous because it's the personality that got those traumatic memories. I could write an essay on here going further in depth but no one wants that lol.

Without getting too into it there are basically different tiers of gods in marvel. the term just sorta represents any extra-dimensional being. to some gods thanos would be no more threat than a flea while others would be legitimately threatened by him. (this is only with the infinity gauntlet)

About Konshu being an asshole, something you may not know is that the gods in Egyptian (and Greek and Roman) Mythology are pretty high and mighty about themselves. Its not like God in Catholicism and Judaism where He serves everyone. The Gods in these mythologies expect gifts from Humans and don't really care about Humans. They don't hate humans but they also don't see them as equals. They except humans to bow to them and serve them with no regard for themselves. So from Konshu's perspective, he can do whatever he wants. He doesn't see himself as evil. Hes just using a human to protect people from Ammit. Though from your and our perspective, that makes him an asshole and kinda bad, if you really think about it. Like he said, he believes that he is justice and that he must do whatever it takes to provide his justice to the world.

He has even said that he is in Steven's body as part of his deal with Konshu :P And when his business is done Steven will never hear from him again. Steven also owns an apartment, had a job, and likely a bank account which would be pretty hard to do as a random fake identity, while Marc's 'home' was a storage container where he kept his money as cash because his identity isn't the real one.
