On some real, Magi gets slept on for a solid story, animation, ost and honestly a very fun lore and world. The three would love it! (still hopelessly waiting for that season 3)

I'm not 100% certain, but I believe that the baby of Anos' parents died in the womb. From that point on the dead baby was chosen to be the vessel of Anos and turned into the reincarnation we see today. No bigger play or force was in the works, just the process of being reincarnated 2000 years later
