Oh great, did we just clap the city?

Comments

Prime

here we go

Uriel Batuk

2:25, I heard Japanese still hang their clothes but inside their apartments, they are advanced in a bunch of stuff, and in other, they keep it simple

Mist

almost there hype

GermyRTZ

"You gotta hang your clothes to dry?" Roshi just clapped my entire country?

Jin Shim

Yall, Okabe literally called Kurisu to ask her to activate the Phonewave (name subject to change)

C J

have you guys ever thought about moving the show to the middle of the screen instead of the right?

Cosmonaut

So Okabe being a whole troll to kurisu is goofy af that he has to act normal to even get a word in with her lmao. There is still quite a LOT of stuff that hasnt been answered yet but more is yet to come as you guys keep watching. Also there's a reason why the girl with the pink hair says "nyan" all the time for most of her sentences. <3

Bart the Beard

I was kinda worried the crew won't get it because it's not that clear to the unknowledgeable about otaku culture but I'm glad Roshi gets what's happening.

Wait does everyone in the US only use dryers to dry clothes? In Australia most people line dry unless they live in an apartment with no balcony. Since dryers use a lot of electricity and is bad for the clothes long term. This is eye opening to me O_O

Cristóbal Villanueva

You're doing amazing with the show guys, first time I watched it I got like half or less of the shit going on. And I really love that you are invested in the show already, for most people the first half is too slow and even drop the show, but the second half is where the action is!

Reuben Filimaua

They were able to send Faris' d-mail from her house cos of Kurisu. She was the only one who stayed at the lab, and Okabe's phone call scene was about him tryna tell her to setup the phonewave. Yeeah, Faris' d-mail basically removed otaku nerd culture from Akihabara as you's already understood. Imagine that.

See the thing is with Okabe…..in the beginning of the show despite all his mad scientist shit, he’s someone who values his friends so much that he simply trusts them completely. It’s rather sad because he doesn’t have many so he wants to preserve his bonds as much as possible, which is a part of the reason why he doesn’t question his friends that much, which is a good value to have but not a complete and entirely productive mindset. Ofc this subtly changes throughout the show but yea I just wanted to point that out about his character.

It's better in the right, simply because is more natural to the human eye. The mayority of population is right handed, so we tend to read an image from right to left, I don't know if roshi set that in purpouse but is a pretty basic concept in photography, marketing and other fields. That's the basic, there are some other implications but we are not here to take a class xD

lyssa

Aye aye

Dj Josol

Fun fact: When Okarin screamed from the window "Miro, hito ga gomi no you da!" Is the same thing Anya said in ep 3 when she said "people look like trash [from up here]" It's actually a Castle in the Sky reference.

sotonye ogan

Yeah Daru is starting to get fucking annoying, Don't be like Daru.

Really, because i prefer it left or in center myself, in USA we read from left to right, could be part of it.

Psychedelic

depends on where you are in the states. especially in cities, almost everyone uses a dryer. but out in the country and mountains there are quite a few people who still use lines. also, basically everyone in the north has a dryer, from what I've seen. probably because for a lot of the year it's too cold to dry your clothes outside.

faded

Here in Europe it’s pretty common to dry clothes like that.

Random Guy

Before Akiba became an anime culture paradise, it was originally a center for electronics. So without all the anime culture, its just become full of electronics store, thus them displaying electric fans.

Sugoi_Boi__

Damn, Roshi should have sent a message to not fumble the bag in The Quarry lol still a fun stream worth watching!

Nako

its crazy because this show is pretty slow up until around this part, but its still one of my favorite animes of all time

john segun doe

Are y'all going to react to stranger things new season

Danny

lol this i the 1 show you guys should try to always watch 2 episodes at once back to back, because otherwise you're just gonna clap yourselves each week tryna remember shit

xACOLYTEz
>>85778180

they did say it on twitter a while ago but I guess not everyone follows them there

slipHAZARD

God damn that intro just gets more and more 🔥🔥🔥 every time I see it dude

Bart the Beard

Also, the quote around 7 minute mark is Death note reference by Kurisu, which is why people are looking at her and she's embarrassed, saying it's "impossible" she's one of them (otaku).

かもめのたまご

if u live in Japan that part at the end was wtf moment Akiba(Akihabara) is the place know for anime stuff and electronics, and then u see Akiba with just electronics omfg

Grelk
>>85774831

Yeah discord has the usual schedule pinned in the general patreon chat so you could always check there too

Vevvev
>>85772647

Didn't know that. That´s cool since Castle in the Sky is in my top 3 Ghibli films for sure.

KimKaiRen

I wish u guys could just binge this show. It's a good story.

Infinity

clapping themselves every episode

van

Oh man... that attempt to localize internet culture with the Xzibit "Yo I heard you like..." meme aged so badly I had to reread it to even get it. Also btw, "2chan" isn't an off brand reference, it's actually the original that the American one was based off of.

ahh ok, that makes sense. Thanks for the explanation :)

ERRORCODE616

That's super funny that Soul Calibur was a part of y'all's initial friendship. Me and one of my closest friends bonded over Soul Calibur 2 and 3 in high school. Also I both love and hate Okabe. He's a stubborn idiot for never fully cluing in the other to the changes that he's experienced, but on the other hand, it feels like such a true portrayal of that mad scientist archetype. He knows he's fucking things up by continuing to let other people experiment with the Phone Microwave and jumping world lines, but he can't help himself because the infinite possibilities are too intriguing.

Wow, that's soo cool, I love Castle in the Sky, it's my favourite Ghibli movie, but I would never have gotten that reference since I don't speak Japanese😮

Diego Zenhäusern

The moment the music starts to clue in at the end and Okabe realizes what they've done still gives me chills every time😮!!
