i imagine it might actually be hard to voice all those noises & stutters in a way that's effective, so i think the voice actor deserves to be paid just as much

I don't know how it works in Japan but in America i'm pretty sure a lot of voice actors, obviously depending on the show, get paid per amount of lines of dialog. It's why I know some voice actors would prefer not to voice act Main Characters, because often in shows the MC generally reacts to things, where as characters that give lots of exposition dumps get paid more.

Fantastic and a very wholsome end of the first of Komi's first year in high school. OLM did a great job adapting the manga i hope they continue to do so. Year 2 going to be even better.

idk if y'all caught it but when they were showing the memories of all of komi's friends the piano in the background was the first op. Also when the showed the two cats around the end of the episode it was symbolic of komi being the black cat and tadono being the brown one

Japan has kind of a "celebrity culture" surrounding voice actors, where AAA actors get paid stupid amounts for their name rather than their voice (think of it like casting Chris Pratt as Mario's voice or Will Smith as the fish). Given that they could have cast pretty much anyone as Komi and Kaguya-sama is a major franchise at the moment, it was 100% a stunt casting to try to pull fans of Aoi Koga over to this show. If you're old enough to remember the late 00s, it's kind of similar to those years when Haruhi was the biggest thing ever so Aya Hirano was cast in like 8 shows at the same time because they all wanted her name on it (Misa in Death Note is probably the most notable one). So no. They probably paid full price just to have Aoi Koga in the show, regardless of how much voice acting she actually did.

Don't think y'all caught it since y'all didnt comment on it, but the reason why Komi reacted to that candy the way she did is because remember how Tadano was researching what different gifts mean? Giving candy means "I like you". But then again, Komi didn't comment on it most likely cause she probably didn't know if Tadano knew the meaning of the gesture and was too embarrassed to ask.....but of course he did
