I agree. “Saving Mayuri” was meant to distract us from that. Not everyone will forget, but the show expects the majority to hence the focus on their relationship and Okabe’s realization hits. If the show brings it up, why spam hints? Smh

Yea, Okabe's been going through the stuff for like months now, and Kurisu died once when he didn't know her and none of the time travel stuff was happening. Think it is definitely something easy to overlook considering you are so focused on saving your oldest friend.

Omg, didn’t okabe hear himself yell in the first episode right before he found her corpse? Jesus christ then that must mean okabe has been trying to save kurisu that time for infinite amount of times stuck in an infinite loop trying to save her or something. The thought of that makes me feel so eerie. The first episode where innocent minded okabe hears himself (probably like millions of years old from billions of time loops) yelling close by 🥶

i think 90% is about right, and the 10% who remember are usually disproportionately people who watch the show over a longer period of time, and generally people who binge it are more likely to forget. Obviously people can be observant when binging and remember it but it's less likely. Authorial intent is certainly that you're supposed to have forgotten because it's definitely supposed to be a stinger 'twist' ending to this episode.

Holy shit yes, I agree and it's kind of a low-key masterpiece anyway. IMO it's like a lost legendary show, the kind of thing can hold its own against shows like Cowboy Bebop, Outlaw Star, Monster... also just a really unique and engrossing atmosphere and a really fun blend of genres. (Well, calling it a "lost" legendary show is an exaggeration but it's wild how many people haven't even heard of it, somehow.)

Steins gate 0 is the story of the okabe who sent the message in ep 23. Imo you should definitely watch it as it gives you a much better appreciation for the original. Just to make sure in case you didn't know, if you're watching sg0 then you should first watch ep 23b. That ep leads to sg0. Hope this helps!

In my opinion, Stein Gate 0 is better than the original. The story telling is top tier, the new characters introduced are amazing and the final scene *chef's kiss*

I think you need to watch this next, Steins;gate: Oukoubakko no Poriomania (its 1 ep and is what happened a few months after steins;gate) And then the movie to finish off this steins gate story (the movie is the events that happen 1 year after steins;gate) Afterwards watch Steins;gate 0 to see what happened in a different timeline where the outcome for Okabe is different from the original Steins;gate.

Yes before getting into season 2 there is a short 1 episode special called ‘Steins;Gate 0: 23β- Divide by Zero’ that you definitely need to watch or it will be very confusing

STEINGS GATE 0 is a sequel but ITS completely different calling it season 2 doesn’t fit with how the story works and watching it AFTER watching STEINS GATE will just be like watching different routes take place it don’t make sense doing that tbh

It might be confusing and most people aren’t likely to stop a few episodes before to watch a different thing then come back… it’s honestly fine if a person were just to search up how to watch it in order, either way is fine, depending on the background context they may or may not have…

Hope you watch Steins Gate 0, 'lots of people are being annoying about not watching it cause "its not canon" but its an amazing piece, and 'lots of reactors' fans get annoyed cause basically "canon-elitists" try and get reactors not to watch Steins Gate 0.

I would love if you guys reacted to some of the OVA works and movie for Steins gate too! Lupo was making fun of how they reference IRL organizations with fake names like SERN or IBN, but Studio 5pb/Nitroplus/MAGES actually teamed up with the real Japanese IBM to make an OVA called "The Sagacious Wisdom of Cognitive Computing", which is essentially the name for Artifical Intelligence before it became the staple.

I also totally forgot about the fact that Kurisu died in the original timeline when I reached here in the original visual novel (I was reading it for a few hours straight). It's very natural when you consider they have been so consumed by what has been happening this whole time. That came as a shock to me just as intended.
